Smooth delivers another raucous selection on Mainframe Recordings; after spending time on labels such as Ram, Elevate Records, Viper Recordings and many other labels which have shaped the game from the beginning, he returns to Mainframe following a string of live performances at their club nights. Although with Mainframe standing as one of the most influential drum & bass promoters from Europe, it’s no surprise that Smooth would be a part of its roster for another release, primarily due to his hotly anticipated DJ sets at the Mainframe venues. ‘Anger’ encapsulates the full-frontal assault of his DJ sets and it’s something he injects directly into his own sound, which translates well whilst he maintains his high levels of production. This is part of the Smooth play book and it’s one reason why he’s been added into the ranks of Mainframe Recordings, for both his live performances and his music. ‘Anger’ delivers the hooks and grooves which Smooth’s more dancefloor orientated tracks are well-versed in. With a danceability which oozes through the track, it’ll prove to be a pivotal part of any DJ set list. Alongside its distorted track elements, the type of which underpin each twisting bass, Smooth provides a composition that could blast through any speaker and cause the upmost devastation. He makes a return with the help of Mainframe Recordings and highlights that he’s as destructive as ever when it comes to his more explosive deliveries. Davip (Ilgiz Shamsiev) is recognized as the most successful and productive breaks/drum & bass producers from the Former Soviet Union. At his 22, Davip has 14 vinyl releases on the best electronic music labels behind his back, as well as over 30 digital labels and CD compilations. 2010 was a real breakthrough year for Ilgiz, when his twelve inch, Ignition/Level Up came out on the cult Hardcore Beats UK label (with Ignition remix by a dubstep act Bare Noize on the filpside). The same year tracks called Vamonos/High Technology (featuring Encode) saw the light through the famous drum & bass imprint Breed 12 Inches (sublabel of Lifted Music). Both records took Beatport, Chemical Records, Juno and many other charts by storm. In 2011 Hardcore Beats released a new Davip masterpiece entitled Brick EP, which repeated the Ignition/Level Up success. A UK magazine Mixmag gave the release 5/5, making Brick the track of the month. In January 2012 two massive releases followed: a drum & bass one called Vertigo/Massacre on Mainframe Recordings and a breaks record Crash!/Sistema on Hardcore Beats UK. Besides producing breakbeat and drum & bass on his own, Davip is also a part of a French-Russian dubstep trio PLAYMA, which he co-created alongside Mars (from Kaliningrad, Russia) and Ben William (from France) in the Summer of 2011. The band is signed to Audioporn Records (UK) and gets prepared for an extensive live tour across Europe. Davip is a resident of the labels: Hardcore Beats, Wicky Lindows, Mainframe. With the closing chapter of 2012 having ushered in no fewer than three chart-topping releases from high-flying Xilent, we thought it only right to present the latest AudioPorn podcast hosted by a group of artists set to make serious waves now in 2013. The collective have been steadily climbing to the summit of the scene, culminating with a number 1 spot on Beatport's coveted DnB chart with the anthemic 'Talk To Me' released on Mainframe Recordings at the close of last year, they are now ready to unleash their second EP on AudioPorn.
