The D&B duo Body & Soul have been dedicated to the dance floor-smashing beats their audience loves them for since their introduction into the scene many years ago. For Body & Soul though the ability to keep crossing musical (and mental) borders, experimenting with different musical genres and throwing in new sounds to create something just a little different from your usual drum and bass anthem is essential. The outfit has become known for their versatile and unprecedented sounds that wow ravers all over the globe and attract new audiences everywhere they go.Since their debut in 2004 Body & Soul have been honing their abilities in creating music that at once both adheres to and subverts the traditional definition of the term ‘Drum & Bass’; a dystopian sound that for all its aggression and energy carries that distinct Body & Soul eccentricity and melody throughout. Having toyed with the idea of an album project for a number of years, the duo are now ready to release their debut long-player Rebirth: the most diverse, free-form and comprehensive exponent of the Body & Soul sound to date. Madcap (Elliot Payne) started DJing in the early 90's. Son of a Rock N' Roll Musician Father & Piano teaching Mother, he was exposed to music from a very young age. Being so young was a stumbling block at first, but this changed in the summer of '95 when securing a job at local record shop Buzz Records, High Wycombe. This was associated with DJ Pulse and the influential Creative Wax label. Meeting with punters and promoters alike, Madcap soon found himself being booked up & down the UK for sets, including the infamous Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. One particular highlight of his DJing career so far was winning the Movement / Technics DJ Competition in 2002 at The End Night-club, as featured in DJ Magazine, this resulted in several bookings for Movement at London's Bar Rumba & across the Capital. Other notable features on Madcap is his appearance in The West Country's IDJ Magazine January 2004 after winning "Mix Tape of the Month" The competitions certainly helped and has continued to get him bookings throughout the UK. Madcap has had several long term residencies in Oxford, London, Aylesbury & now Birmingham (Liquid Sessions). TRACKLISTING01. The Anthill Mob 'Black Rushin' (Anthill Remix) Anthill Records 02. Luke Wilson AKA Utah Jazz, is one of the original liquid funksters. He started mixing Drum & Bass whilst still at school, inspired by LTJ Bukem & Alex Reece and his DJ career soon blossomed – randomly adopting the name ‘Utah Jazz’ from the US Basketball team to showcase his preference for the mid 90s ‘Jazz-Jungle’ sound. In 2008, his debut album ‘It’s A Jazz Thing’ was released worldwide to both commercial and critical acclaim - cementing Utah Jazz’s position as one of the major cross-over D&B artists this side of the millennium. Pipped at the post by worthy winners Chase & Status, 'It's A Jazz Thing' was also the 2nd highest placed Drum & Bass album in Mixmag's famous 2008 Top 50 poll, with Pendulum coming in 3rd.Since the release of 'It's A Jazz Thing', Utah Jazz has now joined the likes of High Contrast & Danny Byrd as one D&B's leading remixers with reworks for Wiley (Atlantic Records / Warner), Tricky (Domino Records), Lethal Bizzle (Search & Destroy / V2),Serani (Island Records / Universal) & Yo Majesty. Machine Code (aka Current Value & Dean Rodell) is a project formed out of true respect and passion for dance music with its origins deep-rooted in Techno. Neither artist needs introduction to any of the scenes they have been busy infiltrating, as these two heavy-weights of underground electronica have been continually releasing tight cuts and forward thinking music for over 20 years between them to date.Following the release Machine Code's first, forward thinking LP - 'Environments'; which comprised a slab of heavy and experimental and cross-over takes on DnB, Techno and Dubstep - they are once again fresh from working the machines at their own Subdivision Studio in Berlin. A fresh munitions stockpile is ready to be broadcast to and inflicted upon audiences worldwide. Machine Code live's ideal is to bring it back to that original and fresh sound with a true manipulated modular synthesis approach. They are ready to crush sound systems in their path with relentlessly rushing and hypnotic DnB, lung collapsing Dubstep and dark clanging Techno derived from the darkest depths of their abused machinery. Hailing from the sunny land of Kazakhstan musician and producer Alexey Fuifanov, now based in Saint Petersburg, better known as Command Strange has already become a household name for all lovers of musical side of drum and bass. Having got acquainted with jungle in the tender age of 7 it didn’t take a while for him to get into production. Developing and improving his sound and being only 16 years old Command Strange released his first tunes. Sweet melodic productions full of positive vibes equipped by beautiful soul, jazzy and funky samples quickly gained support from scene’s heavyweights like LTJ Bukem, Marky, Goldie, Bryan G, JJ Frost, A Sides, Hype, Fabio & Grooverider, Crissy Criss, Friction, Artificial Intelligence, Netsky, EZ Rollers, Bailey and others with regular airplay on BBC RADIO 1 and across plenty of web radio stations. After successful singles on Have-A-Break and Fokuz in the beginning of 2010 Command Strange unsurprisingly has been offered an album deal for Fokuz. In November 2010 «Soul Booster» LP described by Kmag as «some of the lushest beats you can imagine» saw a light of the day. Alexey continues to experiment with his sound, somewhat deviating from the usual tasty liquid funk grooves and bringing his vision of jump up, techy and new school areas that can already be seen in the published in late 2011 second solo album "Episode 91" on the same Fokuz Recordings and vinyl singles on Grid and Integral Records. 2012-2013 saw Command Strange changing a focus and broadening a spectrum of his production even more into tight new school beats with rough and nasty basslines. Releases on Horizons, Integral and V Records including a massive achievement in a form of dirty deep roller written with Artificial Intelligence for Metalheadz Platinum cemented Command Strange's position as one of the most promising and versatile producers on the scene. Currently, being only 22 years old, Alexey has over 100 released tracks under his belt including more than 35 vinyl releases. With forthcoming releases on V Records, Innerground, Horizons Music, Good Looking, Chronic, Fokuz, Integral, Eastside, Celsius, Antillectual Beats and some other labels in the pipeline Command Strange is undoubtedly a name to watch in the years ahead. After years of learning the art of DJ'ing from his older brother, a 13 year old Levela wanted to know how the tracks were made so he tried his hand at production. Spending each and every waking minute in the studio, Levela began to build a large back catalogue of tracks that he believed were good enough quality to release to the public. So he sent several demo CDs & e-mails to a number of labels for some feedback. Soon after this, DJ Phantasy from Easy Records spotted the young talent and invited him to work exclusively with his label. For 5 years, DJ Phantasy became like a mentor to Levela by giving him production tips and guiding him into the D'n'B scene by setting up collaborations with high profile names like Skibadee, Funsta and Harry Shotta to name a few. This brought about Levela's debut solo 12" on Easy Records "Dubstyle Ft MC Funsta" & "Stamina" followed by the hugely successful 5 track "Stark Ravin' Mad EP" which topped the Drum'n'Bass Arena Album Charts as well as taking the top 5 places on the Nu Urban Download Charts. Other releases throughout this time include his collaborations with Dub Zero entitled "Overdrive" & "Messy" which also reached no 1 on the DNBA charts, no 1 on the Nu Urban Download Charts and was a hand picked, Featured Release on Trackitdown.net. These releases saw Levela get many DJ bookings all over the UK and Europe as well as becoming a resident DJ for Innovation and Devotion events. Levela has performed to tens of thousands of people over the last few years in a number of different countries including Germany, Belgium, Spain, Holland, Czech Republic and Austria. Crissy Criss from BBC 1xtra has supported several of Levela's tracks on his weekly radio show as well as having extensive club play from almost every major DJ in the scene. April 2010 saw Levela set up his own record label, Multi Function Music, which has consistently released tracks from himself as well as other up'n'coming and established artists, with each release hitting the sales charts without fail. Soon coming up to release number 32, Multi Function Music is going from strength to strength with high profile artists wanting to work with the label. In 2010, the dubstep A-Lister Datsik head hunted Levela and suggested they work together on a few projects which brought around the highly anticipated "Levela Drumstep Remix" of Datsik's biggest track to date, "Firepower". This track was supported by Excision, Datsik, Skrillex, Downlink and many others before being released on Excision's label Rottun Records in April 2011. More recently, Levela has remixed for Benny Page, Dope Ammo, Konichi & Decimal Bass (Annix) & more. Now with Levela's YouTube track uploads totalling over a million views, there's no surprise he has high studio demands, a busy DJ diary, remix offers flying in and a Europe wide Multi Function tour in the making. Current Value has been creating hard-hitting Drum and Bass for almost a decade now. Taking the production of Drum & Bass' dark sub-genres from roughly produced and pushing it to more refined and polished sound, while maintaining its aggressiveness. He's in the mix for us now for almost an hour, so tune in and as always let me know what you think! Berlin's Current Value (Tim Eliot) represents the forefront of the underground DnB scene, and is a rapidly emerging force in the harder, more techy end of the Dubstep spectrum. His forward thinking production combined with a highly technical approach to music and lean, tight arrangement, makes for some of the most instantly recognisable music currently released. Following substantial training in classical piano, Tim initially began dabbling in electronic music in 1992. Several years later he began receiving recognition from local Berlin radio stations and a series of irrefutably classic 12"s followed. Seminal works on Don Q and Position Chrome catapulted Current Value into a position of iconic status. Shortly thereafter, he began playing live across Europe and the USA; with his unique sound catching dancefloors afire worldwide. The early Position Chrome releases like 'Creative Robot', 'Skybreaker' and 'Bass Riot' were very well received, with the decidedly dark and often dissonant sound of the techstep revolution resonating with many disenfranchised junglists, as well as electronica listeners. The numerous singles and LP's to Current Value's name, he made an indelible impression on the DnB and techno genres. Subsequent appearances on renowned labels such as DonQ Records (Ger), Ruff-Teck (NL), Klangkrieg (Ger), Phantom Noise (Ger), NoBreaks (Ger) and Soothsayer Recordings further solidified his status. In 2004, after 1 year of education, he received his Diploma at the School of Audio Engineering SAE - enhancing his production values and abilities even further. In mid 2005 Soothsayer released the first of several Current Value 12"s. Successive releases including a split 12" w/ Kid Kryptic (Soothsayer/Theoretic) and the monumental "The Unspoken" EP underscored the growing quality of Current Value releases. In 2006, Current Value continued to deliver ever more complex and precisely created music, with his new work for Soothsayer Recordings, Intransigent Recordings, Obscene Recordings, Algorythm and the US based Evol Intent Recordings. Current Value began to collaborate with SPL (Tech Itch, Freak, Lost Soul), Limewax (Freak, Tech Freak, Tech Itch, L/B), Counterstrike (Algorythm/Future Sickness) and Raiden (Offkey, Freak, Position Chrome); providing tunes for some of the finest afore-mentioned DnB labels. In late 2009 he released his next full length album on Freak Recordings called "2012 - The Day Of Silence". In early 2010 Current Value presented a further album available on Subsistenz on the 12th of April 2010 on 5x Vinyl, Double CD & MP3. 2011 saw Current Value remixing Noisia's track 'Purge' featuring the Foreign Beggars, from their 'Split The Atom' album on Deadmau5's Mau5trap label. This brought a significant amount of further recognition, taking Current Value's sound to a much wider audience. This was in addition to a slew of other releases on Subdivision, Barcode, Section 8, Nekrologik Records and Tantrum Records. 2012 so far has brought some of the highlights of Current Value's career, with the crowning achievement being without doubt his collaboration with Bjork. He contributed the beats to the track 'Sacrifice' from her most recent album 'Biophilia'; with these beats also being included in the highly successful and award-winning Biophilia phone application. Following this collaboration, Current Value was given the first and fourth releases of a series of Biophilia remixes, alongside other electronic artists at the forefront of their genres such as Hudson Mohawke and Alvo Noto. This is in addition to releases on Subtrakt, Position Chrome and Section8. A further album is set for release on the consistently epic Barcode label. His highly acclaimed side projects include "Machine Code" and “Underhill”. Machine Code is Tim Eliot working with Dean Rodell, working on a fusion of DnB, Techno and Dubstep to create forward thinking, genre-combining experimental dance music. 2011 saw the release of their first full length LP – 'Environments' - released on Subtrakt; following a number of successful singles put out through Subdivision Media's various labels, as well as Combat Recordings, Yellow Stripe Recordings, Mentally Disturbed and Union Recordings. Tim worked with Dean Rodell and Ivan Shopov on the Underhill project up until after the release of their first LP – Silent Siren. Another genre-fusing project, Silent Siren was released to critical acclaim – drawing together elements of Dubstep, Witch-House, Hip-Hop and Techno. James Marvel's drum and bass career began as a DJ, but his career in music spans back to his early childhood when he learned guitar and saxophone, later studying piano at the Ghent & Brussels Conservatory. Before making the switch to electronic music, James Marvel aka Jens Blaute, played keyboard with several bands in Belgium and Holland. Taking inspiration from drum and bass producers such as Ed Rush & Optical and Bad Company, James Marvel quickly caught the attention of industry heads, releasing several singles on Drum and Bass labels, Ammunition and Titan before collaborating with Shimon on 'Ice Block' for AudioPorn's 'Transitions' LP. In early 2013, along with Dodge & Fuski, Teddy Killerz and Tha New Team, James Marvel was selected to provide a remix of Xilent's massive video game inspired single 'Boss Wave' for the 'Boss Wave: Reloaded' remix EP, released by AudioPorn. Marvel perfectly preserved Xilent's original, whilst also showcasing his own distinctive drum and bass style and even wrote a piano score of the original. Marvel's remix raced up the Beatport chart and was selected by Drum & Bass Arena to feature on the Drum & Bass Arena 2013 Compilation. Set to release his debut 'I Am The Robot' EP on AudioPorn in August, James Marvel perfectly showcases his versatility and technical brilliance with five stunningly crafted neurofunk and liquid drum and bass tracks. With performances lined up from underground drum and bass raves to this year's Tomorrowland festival and with his brand new EP coming out on AudioPorn, James Marvel is ready to tear through the fabric of bass music and is fast establishing himself as a producer and performer to watch out for. Panda presents Jaydan. Hailing from Leicester, Jaydan has had a fascination for drum and bass ever since he first heard it years ago. Getting into DJing over 15 years ago, he secured a spot playing back-to-back at a Formation Records night and wanted to become a part of the UK's burgeoning jump up scene. After a decade of DJing, he started producing and released his first tracks on Propaganda, Ganja Records and doing collaborations with Original Sin. His tracks have been heavily supported by most major names in the scene such as Roni Size, DJ Die, Clipz, Marky, Hype, Goldie and Total Science while receiving regular airplay on Crissy Criss' legendary 1Xtra show. In 2007, Jaydan launched his own imprint entitled Smokin' Riddims with all of its releases to date charting in BBC Radio One's Drum and Bass chart. Long story short, this is one of the biggest names in jump up drum n bass and he's exclusively in the mix for us on the Panda Drum & Bass Mix Show. P.S. Panda presents Silent Code. Most of us in D&B probably know one half of the duo as Missrepresent. She's become a drum & bass legend over the years helping to pave the way for female DJs in the genre. She's had her entrepreneurial fingers in many pies, including founding the now defunct radio station Aftershock Radio, as well as starting her own label Sliced Note Recordings. She's played all over the world and now as part of the duo Silent Code, she's putting her hands in to drum & bass production. Also back when I started my channel (as PandaDNB) in 2008, both of us were one of the very few Drum & Bass channels on YouTube. So this feels a lot like a re-union for me! Silent Code's "4 Corners EP" is out now and available from iTunes. Tune in and let me know how it sounds! Panda presents Ukrainian drum and bass pioneer MaxNRG in the mix! Signed to Technique Recordings last year, and instantly proved his credentials to the UK scene. His debut EP, “Prometheus”, showed off a melodic sensibility that provides an ideal counterpoint to his tough beats and basslines, resulting in heavy radio and rave rotation. So, time to show off more of this flavour. And that flavour, as MaxNRG has already proved, has a lot to do with melody, which is at the top of the agenda for “Hide Away My Heart”. A sing-along refrain and cleverly interweaving riffs create the calm before the firestorm of the drop. An, proving the flexibility of this style, on top of the D&B mix, there’s a selection of other delivery systems for the payload. A Radio Mix, an Instrumental Mix, a savage Dubstep Mix and even a electro-plosive House Mix, proving that, whatever your flavour, MaxNRG’s style can get you hyped. This flavour’s all about melody, but that’s not the end of the story. “Danger Zone” flips the musicality into another dimension. Now, it’s deployed to create an unsettling horror-movie landscape, populated by tormented samples, before filtered beats and a gravelly bassline slowly move into view. On the face of it, this is a simple, if dark-hued roller, but as the tune progresses, sounds become modulated beyond your wildest expectations to draw you further into this paradigm. If you don’t know about MaxNRG yet, then you’d better not miss out on this release. In these two tracks, he’s shown that his style can encompass both the light and the darkness, making his output vital parts of any selector’s armoury. TRACKLISTING01. Born deep in the West country in the small town of Glastonbury, LoKo (Nathan Alecsander-Gray) was bought up surrounded by music. At just 9 months old LoKo was taken to his first Glastonbury festival and since then his musical journey has continued to progress with his most recent venture ending up with him being signed to RAM Records new project “PROGRAM”. At the tender age of fourteen LoKo was starting to make a name for himself as an upcoming DJ and this quickly led to him supporting the likes of Pendulum & Goldie. While perfecting his djing skills LoKo wanted more from the music he loved and started producing. After several years of working away LoKo’s break came when he received a phone call from old skool music legend Joe Shotter a.k.a Nebula2, confirming he had won the “Anthema” remix contest and his remix was to be released. Over the next couple of years LoKo concentrated on college and university whilst plugging away at his production skills and setting up Bristol based record label “Screwloose Records”. Also an appearance in Drum & Bass literary Mecca Knowledge Magazine providing invaluable knowledge for their 'Studio Tips' section was followed by demand for his DJ work at competing publication ATM, laying down a mix with award-winning MC Funsta. Further publicity has seen him interviewed for Drum & Bass Arena TV from his very own studio, also DJing on Drum & Bass TV LIVE many times with people like Harry Shotta, Skibbadee, Funsta and others. Add to that appearances on BBC Radio 1, Ministry Of Sound, Kiss FM and BBC 1Xtra where he held his own alongside superstars Grooverider, Bryan G, DJ Hype and Bailey. With continual support from industry heavyweights including Fabio, Grooverider, Hype, Goldie, Fresh, Annie Mac, Mista Jam, Bailey, Crissy Criss, Dillinja, Original Sin, Taxman, Hazard and plenty more, Heist's spot in the limelight has been deservedly cemented in recent times. Comprising of Josh White, Matt Lowe on production, and Jeff Crake on vocals, Hybrid Minds represent a new musical force, with their melodic, soulful Drum and Bass already making waves across the globe. A synergy between influences including trip-hip, acoustic, soul and jazz, Hybrid Minds, consisting of Sensa, Haste and Grimm, draw on a myriad of influences to produce the smooth sound they are known for. Josh and Matt had worked with one another for a few years running record labels before deciding to put their drive into music making. After only a few joint efforts, the duo immediately shot to the forefront of the Liquid scene, with household names such as Netsky, Lenzman, Marcus Intalex, Logistics, John B and Camo & Krooked all playing liquid tracks from the newly formed duo. Their method of bouncing ideas off each other in the studio yielded immediate results with one of their first tracks, ‘The Place’ becoming one of the biggest liquid tracks of 2011, and receiving vast amounts of love from the UKF fans, a market they did not expect to reach. Combining hard drums, delicate vocals and enchanting melodies, ‘The Place’ features all the elements that now make up Hybrid Minds’ distinctive, soulful sound. After the unprecedented success of ‘The Place’, Sensa and Haste made the permanent jump to liquid, to the delight of millions of Drum and Bass fans, and began to look for a permanent vocalist. That search ended in the discovery of Grimm, a vocalist and drum and bass producer from Canada, thus Hybrid Minds was formed. With a host of releases set for 2012, beginning with their self-titled debut EP on Audioporn including the tracks: ‘I’m Through’, ‘Real Life’, ‘Lost' and , ‘Tides [feat Shimon]' Hybrid Minds are now set to solidify their rapidly growing reputation in the scene, and become one of liquid’s new supergroups. Panda presents L Plus in the mix. If the latest stars in drum and bass are of any evidence, Drum & Bass is going east. The sound already broke through in Eastern Europe and Russia over a decade ago but we're seeing a stronger awash of bigger artists with amazing musical output feeling confident they can take over the D&B torch from the UK. We are no longer just hearing the typical techy eastern drum and bass sound pioneered by names like Paul B. In fact, artists from the same region have evolved that sound into something much brighter and more accessible. One of those artists is L Plus. Hailing from Slovakia, L Plus has had a long career in Drum & Bass, playing venues and festivals since 1998. He started producing in 2002 and released his first promo in the same year. Getting picked up by Futurebound's Viper Recordings in 2007 was his breakthrough as this release was immediately featured on Andy C's Nightlife 4 mix compilation turning a simple release into huge mainstream exposure. With many more releases later, Drumsound and Bassline Smith picked up L Plus and signed him for an exclusive deal to their Technique Recordings Now releasing his aptly called "Amazing EP" on Technique Recordings, he brings us a full-length mix of his and friends' best tracks. L Plus's Amazing EP is out now on Technique Recordings and can be ordered from iTunes @ http://j.mp/LcUxx7 . Tune in and thumb it! Let me know what you think and don't forget to subscribe. Panda presents Xilent in the mix. This young Polish producer from Warsaw is one of the freshest names in Drum and Bass music right now. As we all know, producers these days are getting younger and younger and Xilent is no exception: he started producing at the tender age of eight years old! What?! Yeah, it makes me sad too. How can you compete with people starting at eight? Going through several phases in music of house, acid techno and trance, Xilent finally hit Drum and Bass, and luckily for us stayed there. Having his first signing in 2009 on Ammunition Recordigns, he was quickly picked up John B's Beta Recordings and three years later by Shimon's AudioPorn label. The year 2012 started off well for Xilent, with his remix of Sub Focus' Out The Blue hitting the airwaves and smashing up clubs around the world. Xilent is definitely here to stay and 2012 is set to be the year of his breakthrough. Xilent's UltraFunk EP is out now on AudioPorn and can be downloaded from Beatport @ http://j.mp/Myo6dp . Reaching many releases and much success, The duo returned in 2011 with their first track together in over 5 years with 'Black Belt' which was released on Matrix & Futurebound's 'Worldwide 001' LP. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, the young boardsman has already assembled a very impressive body of work in a relatively short time. In 2009 he came out guns blazing with his debut release for Stride Recordings, "The Future" EP. Subsequent singles, collaborations and remix projects like "Save Me" and "Photograph" caught the attention of labels from across North America and Europe and it wasn't long before they came knocking in search of fresh new music. His work with veteran producer Gremlinz led to a release on Bad Concept Records, while the legendary John Rolodex quickly took notice and recruited the budding newcomer as a key member and intricate part of his Machinist Music imprint. It was around this time that his reputation as a fierce and fine producer made a sharp ascent with the support of Drum & Bass tastemakers from Bailey to Loxy, Marky to Sub Focus and even the mighty Andy C all regularly playing his music out in their sets both on tour and syndicated radio. Riding the waves of a solid buzz both locally and globally, reputable labels like Rubik, New World Ordio, Dsci4 and Dylan's Freak Recordings scooped up music both already released and forthcoming from the artist touted as Canada's next big producer. Tracks like "Spile," "Just Words" and the massive hit "Headlock" have received rave reviews and given the world a glimpse at just how diverse LaVice's musical tastes and output really are. After practicing for 3 years and later on he became more interested in guitar, also in such genres as metal, hardcore etc. When a couple of years passed by he attended his first drum n bass party and he was hooked! It was very soon after that he decided not just to love this music but also to make his own tunes. His first release was 'Lost Cause' in 2005 on Touchin' Down Records. As he researched sound more and more, he decided that his sound just wasn't good enough, so he shut himself in the studio and waited until 2008 when his improving sound was noticed by Dementia. Together with Rregula they released 'Obfuscate' on Trust in Music 12". Following this, he released 'Space Attack' on Recon and the massive 'Out of Time' on Ruse records. 2011 has been Smooth's breakout year, starting off with the massive single 'Feel So Free' on Viper VIP, which was followed by 'Calling' and Smooth's absolutely immense remix of the Matrix & Futurebound classic 'Strength 2 Strength' on Viper's 'Worldwide 001' album. This was followed by two tracks on Viper's 'Summer Slammers 2011' album, with 'Want It' and 'Alienated' (as Telekinesis). Shortly after releasing some digital tracks in 2009, this producer's producer began to hear his tunes on John B's podcasts; it wasn't long before he was sought after by a number of respected drum and bass labels. In early 2011, High Maintenance opted to sign onto Shimon's AudioPorn Records and DisasZt's Mainframe Recordings, kicking off with a tremendous remix of Ed Rush and Tali's "Dark Days," the lead track from Tali's forthcoming album. High Maintenance began his ascent into music at the age of thirteen with the guitar. "I'd put on an album and learn it all in an hour." When this became banal, High Maintenance decided to pick up a new instrument: the drums. Soon the fifteen-year-old maverick and his newly formed band began playing events in his hometown of Haywards Heath, England. Writing tracks with the band gave him his first taste of his own musical abilities, but having to compromise on his aural vision proved frustrating. "I just wanted to compose a whole piece by myself without having to rely on other people," he says, "so I started producing." High Maintenance soon became impressed with the sounds coming out of the electronic music scene, which lead to his first production: a remix of Daft Punk's "Harder Better Faster Stronger." The realization that he could turn his love of music into a career didn't come about until a number of years later though, when he produced a track entitled "Sun Flares" (forthcoming on DisasZt's Mainframe label). "It was the first track that I had produced through active monitor speakers. They definitely changed my life." Aided by the support of YouTube channels such as SkankandBass and Neurofunkgrid, High Maintenance found that drum and bass DJs and aficionados quickly embraced his energetic and heady tunes. "I like to make loud and rowdy tracks with screamy bass, but that still use nice musical melodies," High Maintenance says. "It gives the music two kinds of emotions." In spite of the rapidity with which his tunes have been embraced by the drum and bass world, High Maintenance is not content to simply make a big tune and rest on his laurels. Pushing to master all aspects of the music that he loves, he is educating himself in everything from mixing and mastering to live recording of bands to composition. ★ Booking ★ Bookings (Europe): bonney@audiopornrecords.com Bookings (North America): scott@cybergrooveprod.com / http://www.cybergrooveam.com Press: tim@audiopornrecords.com TRACKLISTINGHigh Maintenance - Nowhere [Audioporn] Shockone - Polygon VIP (ft. Getting picked up by Viper's Futurebound, Furlonge got to push out his first few releases on the imprint with a great response in the scene and continues to do so now. His tracks feature influences from classical, jazz and rock music and all have a heavy colourful spark of funk and electro mixed in there. Out now is Furlonge's latest release on Viper featuring the smashing "All You Ever Knew" with vocals by Franklyn Gaye and "Reach Out" featuring Katie Alley. Panda presents Craggz & Parallel. Born out of the trio Craggz & Parallel Forces, these Drum & Bass legends previously brought us the 2004 monster-hit Fizzy Piglets and have since been on a roll. Founding their label Product Recordings, they released many singles and quickly were on to another DNB chart hit with "Love Insane". In 2006, the flow of singles culminated into the launch of their debut album "Northern Soul". It received rave reviews across the music press with Mixmag hailing it as "exceptional" and IDJ putting it on #6 in their top 100 albums of the year. After the album release, the trio became a duo and changed their name to Craggz & Parallel. Essentially, they've moved into their second musical phase now and they are producing tracks with more experimental and darker expressions. There's a lot of Metalheadz sound in there but Craggz & Parallel distinguish themselves from it by bringing that touch of colour and climax in their tunes that we know from before. In this mix, Craggz & Parallel mix some their best tracks in just over 50 minutes. Lock in and leave your appreciation for them in the comments section!
