In dieser Folge begrüße ich Steffi zurück im Podcast. Ich erzähle, dass unser erster Aufnahmeversuch vor ein paar Tagen gescheitert ist – ein bisschen wegen Prosecco, aber vor allem, weil wir uns nach der langen Zeit einfach viel zu viel zu erzählen hatten. Heute sitzen wir deshalb mit Kaffee zusammen. Kurz streife ich das Winterwetter auf Kos: viel Sturm, hohe Wellen, Schäden am Hafen und in Orten wie Kefalos, Kamari und Kardamena. Regen ist zwar wichtig für die Insel, macht Spaziergänge aber nicht gerade angenehmer.Danach geht es für mich inhaltlich um „Leben auf Kos & Tourismus“. Ich spreche über die gefühlte Überlastung der Insel – zu viele Touristen im Verhältnis zu rund 35.000 Einwohnern – und meinen Frust über das Gemeinde- und Inselmanagement. Auch Tempo- und Infrastrukturthemen kommen zur Sprache, vor allem aber die Folgen des Baubooms: neue Hotelprojekte, immer mehr Bettenkapazitäten, Petitionen und Initiativen aus der Bevölkerung – und aus meiner Sicht viel zu wenig Reaktion von politischer Seite. Ein Schwerpunkt ist die Wasserknappheit im Sommer, mit Abschaltungen in Wohngebieten bei gleichzeitig vielen Pools und Privatpools, und die Frage, wie fair das gegenüber Bevölkerung und Beschäftigten ist.Ich spreche außerdem über wirtschaftliche Effekte: viele All-Inclusive-Anlagen, dadurch weniger Geld in Tavernen und der Altstadt, deutlich gestiegene Preise und meine Sorgen um die Zukunft der Altstadt, wenn Umsätze schwanken. Dazu kommt für mich das Personalproblem: zu wenig Arbeitskräfte, oft keine attraktive Bezahlung und vor allem massiver Wohnungsmangel – selbst Ärzte finden kaum bezahlbaren Wohnraum. Zum Schluss blicke ich nach vorn: Wie wird sich der Tourismus entwickeln? Was passiert, wenn die Nachfrage sinkt?

Episode #363: "Iceman" John Scully is a former professional boxer and world-ranked light heavyweight contender who compiled a record of 38-11 (21 KOs) from 1988 to 2001. He challenged for the IBF light heavyweight title against in 1996 and faced elite opponents throughout his career. A decorated amateur standout, Scully won multiple Golden Gloves titles, the 1987 National PAL championship, and earned a bronze medal at the 1988 U.S. Olympic Trials. Since retiring, he has become a respected boxing trainer, guiding light heavyweight world champions Chad Dawson and assisting in training Artur Beterbiev, among others. I dagens avsnitt gästar grundarna till Yoga Games, David Liljeroth och Andreas Hector. Två entreprenörer som har byggt sin karriär på möten mellan människor, energi och upplevelser. Deras gemensamma resa började på den grekiska ön Kos år 2001, där de båda jobbade med nattklubbsliv. Det blev starten på en vänskap - och så småningom ett partnerskap - som skulle leda till mycket mer än sena sommarkvällar och dansgolv. Efter några år i Stockholm bestämde de sig för att satsa på något tillsammans, trots att de egentligen inte visste exakt vad. De flyttade till Göteborg, Davids hemstad, och började arrangera klubbar och events. Med tiden växte deras fokus - från nattliv till företagsevent, och så småningom till hälsa, träning och välmående. Tillsammans med Johanna Hector, Andreas fru och välkänd yogalärare, föddes idén till Yoga Games efter en träningsresa till Portugal 2011. De inspirerades av gemenskapen, energin - och av tanken på att skapa något liknande hemma i Sverige. Bara åtta månader senare arrangerades det första Yoga Games i Göteborg. Idag är det Nordens största yogaevent, och samlar tusentals deltagare varje år. Trained by his father David Leo, he turned professional in 2012, won the WBO super-bantamweight title in 2020 against Tramaine Williams, and lost it in his first defense to Stephen Fulton in 2021—his only career defeat. After moving to 126 pounds, Leo captured the IBF featherweight title in August 2024 with a knockout win over Luis Alberto Lopez and defended it in May 2025 against Tomoki Kameda by majority decision. He currently holds a record of 26–1 (12 KOs) and is scheduled to defend the IBF title in early 2026 in Albuquerque.In this episode, Leo participates in a conversation covering his journey in the sport.
