Send us a textOh wow - we had Sarah Dosanjh on the pod!!! And how lovely is she? Sarah is a qualified and BACP-accredited psychotherapist specialising in binge eating — not just through training, but lived experience too. After over a decade of struggling with binge eating and bulimia, it was deep inner work that finally transformed her relationship with food. That journey now informs how she supports others.Since publishing I Can't Stop Eating (an Amazon bestseller) in 2020, she's raised awareness through BBC Radio One, Sky's Roundtable, BBC Breakfast, and delivering training for other professionals. Her YouTube videos exploring recovery and self understanding have been viewed over 3 million times. It was a super interesting conversation with someone who has lived experience with an eating disorder and now supports others with her incredible knowledge, insight and authenticity. We talked about Sarah's ED story, what helped her in her recovery, and how recognising impermanence of thoughts and being honest (even if that is super hard) can be incredibly powerful tools for recovery, as well as cats and whether to watch or listen to podcasts ;-) (with 'Find your Strong' you can do either or both!!)We also touched on GLP-1s and how they can be a massive challenge for anyone with disordered eating or an eating disorder - for a more detailed discussion we highly recommend you listen to Sarah and Stefanie's 'Life after Diets' episode on GLP-1sIf you want to find out more about Sarah and her work, here are some links:Her book 'I can't stop eating' (highly recommended for anyone struggling with overeating and bingeing)Her website https://thebingeeatingtherapist.com/Her podcasts (with co-host Stefanie Michele)Life after DietsFeelings and other inconveniences (brand new!!)Her instagram @the_binge_eating_therapist Please reach out if you would like some support with your relationship to food OR movement. Ela currently has limited spaces for Intuitive Eating coaching and if you'd like to reconnect with movement, contact Christine.AND if you enjoyed this episode, please share and follow the 'Find Your Strong podcast' and if you have time, write us a short review. It would honestly mean the world. Love to you all, Ela & Christine x

Enjoy this week's episode with DJ & Producer DEE MONTERO, former Mambo Ibiza resident who at the end of 2017 received Pete Tong's Essential Tune Of The Year on BBC Radio One for the string-fuelled, epic end-of-nighter ‘Halcyon', originally released on Solomun's acclaimed Diynamic imprint. And he's been busy ever since with various eps including ‘Pangaea' on Knee Deep In Sound, ‘Shadows' on All Day I Dream, 'Shanti' on Days Like Nights and also the scintillating ‘In The Wild' and ‘Headspace' featuring Meliha on Anju- nadeep. From Asia to America and everywhere in between it's all been about the music for Dee. Performances in Australia, India and Dubai have been in- terspersed with US tours and appearances at Burning Man on the Robot Heart and Carl Cox's Playground stages as well as summer shows in Ibiza including Hï with Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciulli. In 2020 Dee launched his own imprint Futurescope bringing in fellow musical alchemists Patrice Baumel, Fort Romeau and Lauer for remix du- ties. He unleashed his diverse 12 track artist album in 2022 playing to those deft melodic touches, twinkling synths and positive peaks. ‘Maya', the standout track from the LP and a homage to Future Sound Of Lon- don's ‘Papua New Guinea' got a special rework treatment from Rodriguez Jr. pushing the release to even bigger, higher heights. Last year he released on illustrious labels such as Nora En Pure's Purified with ‘Aquila' and ‘Serenata', the nostalgic house track ‘Freedom' on Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound and ‘Cielo' on Brazil's legendary Warung imprint. He continues the upward electronic pressure into 2024 with his forthcoming nostalgic ‘Cosmica' mini-album concept crafted with analogue love. Joining them in this instalment to separate their Leaky Cauldrons from their Time-Turners is very special guest Rhianna Dhillon, Film/TV critic and Presenter who has featured on BBC Radio One, Front Row, Sky News, and Channel 5, and is currently the film critic for BBC6Music and Radio 5 Live as well as regularly appearing on Kermode and Mayo's Take. Listen as they get to grips with Alfonso Cuarón's ‘darker' approach to the Harry Potter universe as a vital moment of change for the series; fantastical transformation stories and the power of the VFX animagus; enchantment and wizarding spells of de-animation; the power of Pam Ferris as the magically-inflating Aunt Marge; shifting narrative chronology and the film's links to Hollywood's emergent ‘puzzle film' tradition; the visualisation of childhood trauma through the dark Dementors; and how Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban successfully captures Harry's anger at a world in which his family, friendships, and loyalties are becoming increasing fractured and fragmented. **Fantasy/Animation theme tune composed by Francisca Araujo**

Verity will be there with mics and cameras to document such a fun event. Or click here for more information: Linktr.ee/BeatlesEarth   ----- The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960, that comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are regarded as the most influential band of all timeand were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and popular music's recognition as an art form. Rooted in skiffle, beat and 1950s rock 'n' roll, their sound incorporated elements of classical music and traditional pop in innovative ways; the band later explored music styles ranging from ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock. As pioneers in recording, songwriting and artistic presentation, the Beatles revolutionised many aspects of the music industry and were often publicised as leaders of the era's youth and sociocultural movements. Led by primary songwriters Lennon and McCartney, the Beatles evolved from Lennon's previous group, the Quarrymen, and built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over three years from 1960, initially with Stuart Sutcliffe playing bass. The core trio of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison, together since 1958, went through a succession of drummers, including Pete Best, before asking Starr to join them in 1962. Manager Brian Epstein moulded them into a professional act, and producer George Martin guided and developed their recordings, greatly expanding their domestic success after signing to EMI Records and achieving their first hit, "Love Me Do", in late 1962.   Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr all released solo albums in 1970. Their solo records sometimes involved one or more of the others; Starr's Ringo (1973) was the only album to include compositions and performances by all four ex-Beatles, albeit on separate songs. With Starr's participation, Harrison staged the Concert for Bangladesh in New York City in August 1971. Other than an unreleased jam session in 1974, later bootlegged as A Toot and a Snore in '74, Lennon and McCartney never recorded together again. Two double-LP sets of the Beatles' greatest hits, compiled by Klein, 1962–1966 and 1967–1970, were released in 1973, at first under the Apple Records imprint. Commonly known as the "Red Album" and "Blue Album", respectively, each has earned a Multi-Platinum certification in the US and a Platinum certification in the UK. Between 1976 and 1982, EMI/Capitol released a wave of compilation albums without input from the ex-Beatles, starting with the double-disc compilation Rock 'n' Roll Music. The only one to feature previously unreleased material was The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl (1977); the first officially issued concert recordings by the group, it contained selections from two shows they played during their 1964 and 1965 US tours. The music and enduring fame of the Beatles were commercially exploited in various other ways, again often outside their creative control. In April 1974, the musical John, Paul, George, Ringo ... and Bert, written by Willy Russell and featuring singer Barbara Dickson, opened in London. It included, with permission from Northern Songs, eleven Lennon-McCartney compositions and one by Harrison, "Here Comes the Sun". Displeased with the production's use of his song, Harrison withdrew his permission to use it.Later that year, the off-Broadway musical Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on the Road opened. All This and World War II (1976) was an unorthodox nonfiction film that combined newsreel footage with covers of Beatles songs by performers ranging from Elton John and Keith Moon to the London Symphony Orchestra. The Broadway musical Beatlemania, an unauthorised nostalgia revue, opened in early 1977 and proved popular, spinning off five separate touring productions. In 1979, the band sued the producers, settling for several million dollars in damages. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978), a musical film starring the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton, was a commercial failure and an "artistic fiasco", according to Ingham. Accompanying the wave of Beatles nostalgia and persistent reunion rumours in the US during the 1970s, several entrepreneurs made public offers to the Beatles for a reunion concert.Promoter Bill Sargent first offered the Beatles $10 million for a reunion concert in 1974. He raised his offer to $30 million in January 1976 and then to $50 million the following month. On 24 April 1976, during a broadcast of Saturday Night Live, producer Lorne Michaels jokingly offered the Beatles $3,000 to reunite on the show. Lennon and McCartney were watching the live broadcast at Lennon's apartment at the Dakota in New York, which was within driving distance of the NBC studio where the show was being broadcast. The former bandmates briefly entertained the idea of going to the studio and surprising Michaels by accepting his offer, but decided not to.   The Fratellis are a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, formed in 2005. The band consists of three unrelated members, who perform under pseudonyms: lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, bassist Barry Fratelli, and drummer Mince Fratelli. Their singles "Chelsea Dagger" and "Whistle for the Choir" were both top ten hits in the UK charts. The band's name came from the criminal family in The Goonies and received their first radio playing in 2005, on central Scotland's Beat 106 (later XFM Scotland, now Capital Scotland) Beatscene show hosted by Jim Gellatly. They were signed by Fallout Records after less than 10 shows. The band formed after the band members placed adverts in record stores around Glasgow, originally forming as a four-piece with Mince on lead guitar and a drummer called Chris who was soon fired. They played their first "proper" show on 4 March 2005 in the O'Henry's bar in Glasgow across the road from the Horseshoe bar. The Fratellis EP was released on 3 April 2006, featuring the tracks "Stacie Anne" and "The Gutterati?". "Creepin' Up the Backstairs" was never a single released by the band, even though a video was made for it. The first single released by the band was Henrietta, which was released on 12 June 2006 and charted at number 19 on the UK Charts. Costello Music was the debut album for the Fratellis and was released on 11 September 2006. It charted at number two in the UK album charts for three weeks. The success of the album led to the Fratellis winning the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act in 2007, an award that was voted for by BBC Radio One listeners.   The Fratellis supported Kasabian in December 2006 on their UK tour before playing 10 dates by themselves in February and March 2007. The tour of the UK festival circuit, playing at Glastonbury and headlining at festivals such as NME's Rock 'n' Riot tour, OXEGEN 2007 and T in the Park 2007, amongst others. They also opened for The Police Reunion Tour in the summer of 2007 in some of the North America dates. The Fratellis also recorded some cover songs during the year including "All Along the Watchtower" for Radio 1's 40th Anniversary Double Album, Radio 1: Established 1967, and "Solid Gold Easy Action" for the soundtrack of the film Hot Fuzz, which also included the single "Baby Fratelli".

UK PROG-ROCK GROUP ‘GALAHAD' RELEASES ‘THE LAST GREAT ADVENTURER'

Interviewing the Legends: Rock Stars & Celebs

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho Galahad was formed in 1985 just for fun playing roughly half covers (Genesis, Zeppelin, Rush, Sabbath, Focus, Marillion etc.) and half original material. Galahad then supported a few well known 'Progressive' bands that were coming up at the time. Then, after mixing it with the slightly 'bigger boys' Galahad decided to take it more seriously and began playing only original material resulting in the release of their first proper album in 1991, 'Nothing Is Written', which was purely self -financed and released independently but which went on to sell several thousand copies. The success of 'Nothing Is Written' was also helped by the fact that the band received substantial air play on BBC Radio One, especially on the Radio One Rock Show hosted by the late, great Tommy Vance. The band then landed themselves with deals in the UK, Japan, and Germany. 2021 saw the release of the re-mixed 1998 album 'Following Ghosts' on a limited double vinyl which is available in standard black, gold and a very limited red and orange splatter version. 'Galahad Electric Company' featuring Dean and Stu also released a second lock down album 'Soul Therapy' on CD. Galahad's long awaited ELEVENTH studio album 'The Last Great Adventurer' which features Mark Spencer on Bass guitar on a brand new Galahad album for the first time ever was released in October 2022. PLEASE WELCOME LEAD VOCALIST AND FOUNDING MEMBER OF PROG-ROCK GROUP GALAHAD STU NICHOLSON TO INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS …   PURCHASE THE LATEST RLEASE BY G A L A H A D Entitled 'THE LAST GREAT ADVENTURER' at amazon.com https://galahad1.bandcamp.com Galahad is very pleased to announce the release of a brand-new studio album 'The Last Great Adventurer'. This latest opus, the band's eleventh studio album, has been several years in the making and most of the songs on the album pre-date the previous 'Seas of Change' album from 2018! Plus, due the constraints of the recent Covid emergency, the album was recorded at several locations over the last couple of years by the various band members and finally edited, mixed and mastered, as usual, by engineer/producer extraordinaire Karl Groom (Threshold/Dragonforce/Pendragon/Arena/Yes etc.). The main album consists of five tracks plus two bonus tracks on the CD including, at long last, a new version of 'Another Life Not Lived' originally written by the late and much missed Neil Pepper and Stu back in 2009. Musically the album has a crisp contemporary sound but also still includes plenty nods to the band's progressive heritage particularly on the closing title track, which is a very personal tribute to Stuart's father, Bob.   FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT STU NICHOLSON AND G A L A H A D VISIT www.galahadonline.com Official site www.facebook.com/room801 Facebook https://www.reverbnation.com/durtal Reverbnation www.youtube.com/galahadonline YouTube   GALAHAD DISCOGRAPHY Tapes Studio 95 Demo, Autumn 1995 One Knight at Mr Cs, August 1987 In a Moment of Madness, May 1989 Otherworldly Pleasures (Promo), January 1991 Other Crimes and Misdemeanours, January 1992 Suffering in Silence (Promo Only), February 1992 Galahad's Christmas Lecture, Spring 1993 In a Moment of Complete Madness (Polish Version), April 1993 Nothing Is Written (Polish Version), April 1993 Other Crimes & Misdemeanours II, August 1995 Not All There (Polish Version), September 1995 Sleepers (Polish Version), September 1995 Classic Rock Live (Polish Version), July 1996 Following Ghosts (Polish Version), Autumn 1998 LPs Battle Scars - Single Gatefold LP, April 2012 Beyond the Realms of Euphoria - Double Gatefold LP/EP, October 2012 Empires Never Last - Double Gatefold LP, October 2016 Seas of Change - standard single LP on black or turquoise vinyl and picture disc, January 2018 Sleepers - Double Gatefold LP on black or white vinyl, Spring 2020 Following Ghosts (Original album re-mixed) - Double Gatefold LP on black, gold or orange/red vinyl, Autumn 2021 Singles Dreaming From the Inside/The Opiate, July 1987 Rollercoaster (single sided flexi single), February 1992 Victory (Download only), June 2020 Studio CDs Nothing Is Written, June 1991 (Japan version April 1992, remastered 2007) In a Moment of Complete Madness, April 1993, remastered 2008) Sleepers, September 1995 (Japan version April 1995, 20th anniversary, remastered October 2015) Following Ghosts, June 1998 (remastered reissue 2007; expanded edition September 2020) Year Zero, September 2002 (10th anniversary expanded and remastered edition September 2012) Empires Never Last, Spring 2007 (deluxe edition, remastered January 2015) Battle Scars, April 2012 Beyond the Realms of Euphoria, October 2012 Quiet Storms, May 2017 Seas of Change, January 2018 The Last Great Adventurer, October 2022 Live CDs Classic Rock Live, April 1996, Japanese version September 1996 Resonance - Live in Poland 2006, 2006 Two Classic Rock Lives, 2008 Sleepless in Phoenixville - Live at Rosfest, October 2009 Whitchurch Live 92/93 - Live Archives Vol. 2, February 2012 Solidarity - Live in Konin, September 2015 EPs Voiceprint Radio Sessions EP, January 1994 Seize the Day, February 2014 Guardian Angel, June 2014 Mein Herz brennt, October 2014 (single) 30, July 2015 Compilation CDs Decade (Germany only), March 1997 Other Crimes and Misdemeanours II, May 1997 Other Crimes and Misdemeanours III, September 2001 Other Crimes and Misdemeanours, 2008 Other Crimes & Misdemeanours II & III, 2009 When Worlds Collide, Winter 2015 Downloads/Streams Empires Never Last, Spring 2007 Galahad's Christmas Lecture,Spring 2012 Battle Scars, April 2012 Beyond the Realms of Euphoria, October 2012 Seize the Day EP,February 2014 Guardian Angel EP,Summer 2014 Mein Herz brennt EP,Autumn 2014 Empires Never Last - The Deluxe edition, January 2015 Empires: A Curious Companion, January 2015 Seas of Change, January 2018 Following Ghosts - Expanded Edition, September 2020 Resonance - Live in Poland 2006, December 2020 Spin-off projects Not All There CD (Galahad Acoustic Quintet) January 1995 De-Constructing Ghosts CD (Galahad Electric Company) August 1999 (Re-mix album) Open Water EP Download/stream (Galahad Electric Company) September 2020 When The Battle Is Over CD/Download/stream (Galahad Electric Company) October 2020 Soul Therapy CD/Download/stream (Galahad Electric Company) 20th October 2021 DVDs Resonance – Live in Poland, 2006 Whitchurch 92/93 - Live Archives Vol. 2, February 2012 (Digipack) Solidarity - Live in Konin, September 2015 (Digipack)       Support us!

Firstly, have you joined the Substack yet?If you're of an age, and you came to that age sometime during the mid-to-late 90s, and you're a fan of punky indie rock, and you read the music press – NME, Melody Maker and Kerrang! – each and every Wednesday, maybe you listened to the Evening Session on BBC Radio One, perhaps you were a barfly at your local toilet venue, maybe nothing mattered more to you than Reading Festival and the pre-bourgeois Glastonbury… well, chances are your entry point to music was London five-piece Symposium, who burned brightly for a few years and then imploded, skewering into groups like Hell is for Heroes and Paper Cuts.Well, quite amazingly, Symposium are back, with a Greatest Hits – Do You Remember How It Was? 1996 – 1999, available on streaming platforms now – and a one-off live show at London's Islington Assembly Hall on November 17th, 2022. And I do remember how it was. And it was largely great. But messy. And chaotic. In way both brilliant and bruital. And so what better time than now to connect with singer Ross Cummins and bassist Wojtek Godzisz to ask what went wrong all those years ago... and what has appeared to go right now. And where I can find an Animals That Swim t-shirt in an extra large.

Bobby Friction is a larger-than-life character, a Radio1 DJ, and a supporter of young people coming up in the creative industries. In this episode, we dive deep, buckle up, and enjoy the ride. 2.28- Bobby was doing an art degree channeling his inner rage about racism, by the time he'd gone to university he had survived an anti-Sikh genocide, and experienced the raw racism of the seventies. 4.45- For many years Bobby was the only Asian kid in the school, he spent his teenage years thinking he was the ugliest person that had ever been born because that's what people told him. 9.39- Bobby was dressing up extravagantly which attracted more racism and bullying but he just wanted to express himself, the only escape he had was Prince. 17.24 - His first friend at Radio One was John Peel, Bobby picked up on his attitude and approach to music. 19.52- Sikhism came out of a very intellectual Period in India's history and when his mother and father taught him about his religion, it made him think that everything, even religion should be critiqued constantly. 24.20- In 2020 and the rise of Black Lives Matter he only started to come to terms with the racism hr faced was when he was younger- he realised he didn't change because the racism stopped because it stayed, it was his makeup, dressing up and expression that helped him 25.01- In the seventies when Bobby was a child he used to be abused on the street by adults on a daily basis. 27.56- Bobby loves this country, he bleeds red, white and blue but he looks back at his childhood and thinks what was this country back then? 28.19- Bobby was once headbutted in the park by an adult when he was 10 years old. 31.08- The working class are usually the ones who physically racially abuse others but you realise that they are suffering under the system as well, it's the middle-class racist that you've got to watch out for because they are nice to you. The middle class accepts that racism is a problem and knows it's wrong. 33.38- People of colour at any class level have some kind of connection with working-class white people 35.10- Friendships with white working-class people tend to last but friendships with middle-class white people tend to fade because they constantly need to justify the relationship eg they tell you constantly that they went backpacking in India... 37.03- Bobby started BBC Radio One in his early thirties after thinking in his twenties ‘wouldn't it be great playing Asian music on Radio One' - it took him 10 long years of hard graft to achieve his mission. 40.06- Bobby finally felt good enough, overnight it had gone from a racist society to talking about gay rights and racism, it was pretty radical in the late nineties to say British Asian. Tony Blair's labour party changed things in a positive way. 42.42- Bobby was treated as a warrior that had won a battle after representing British Asians on Radio One and showcasing Asian music 43.53- Bobby handled the pressure and fame very well because of the long journey he'd taken to get there and because of the fact he was a grown-up in his thirties 49.08- People complain about the Asian network existing when really they want to be complaining about the general society and how BBC treats the Asian culture. 57.34- In 1984 in Delhi, a mob tried to get into the house and kill Bobby and his family. They locked themselves in the bathroom upstairs. His mum was hiding jewellery. They didn't know if they could trust their Hindu neighbours but they lead them to a tiny house where every Sikh in the neighbourhood was hiding out. 1.00.00- Prince indelibly shaped Bobby, he gave Bobby the chance to be himself, to be creative. He saved Bobby from all the racism and trauma. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ravinol/message

Aaron Balick in conversation with Susie Orbach A collaboration between The Relational School and The Freud Museum London, exploring the impact that social networking has had on our society and how it is profoundly influencing our lives. Over the past decade the very nature of the way we relate to each other has been utterly transformed by online social networking and the mobile technologies that enable unfettered access to it. Our very selves have been extended into the digital world in ways previously unimagined, offering us instantaneous relating to others over a variety of platforms like Facebook and Twitter. In ‘The Psychodynamics of Social Networking', Aaron Balick draws on his experience as a psychotherapist and cultural theorist to interrogate the unconscious motivations behind our online social networking use: powerfully arguing that social media is not just a technology, but is essentially human and deeply meaningful. 'The Psychodynamics of Social Networking' is the first book to be published in the new series "Psychoanalysis and Popular Culture" produced by the Media and the Inner World research network [MiW] and Karnac Books. Dr Aaron Balick is a UKCP registered psychotherapist, supervisor and a media and social networking consultant working in London. Aaron is also an honorary lecturer at the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex where he participates in the post-graduate MA and PhD programmes in psychoanalytic studies. He writes for both academic and lay audiences having published several academic articles and book chapters while at the same time contributing a psychological angle on national press and radio. Aaron is a media spokesperson for the UKCP and a regular contributor as the "resident psychotherapist" on BBC Radio One's phone-in show, The Surgery with Aled and Dr. Radha. Susie Orbach is a psychoanalyst, writer and social critic. She co-founded The Women's Therapy Centre in 1976, has consulted to NHS, The World Bank and other organisations. She is convenor of www.endangeredbodies.org. She is Chair of the Relational School and the author of eleven books. She was Visiting Professor at LSE and a Guardian columnist for ten years. She is a member of the Government's expert panel on body image. The Relational School is dedicated to understanding the therapeutic relationship and the uses of the inter-subjective space that is co-created within the therapeutic dyad. Our activities aim to create forums for further conversations around relationality coming from a variety of therapeutic disciplines as well as a formal association to disseminate the work.
