Since 2012, John Mosley has been the head basketball coach at East Los Angeles College. Mosley's ELAC Huskies are currently featured in the 2021 season of the Netflix Emmy Award-winning sports documentary series: Last Chance U. The team is the first basketball program to be covered in the critically-acclaimed series. Mosley is a former college basketball player at the JUCO and NAIA level, led the state in assists per game while playing for East LA. After his playing career, he pursued a job in coaching and spent five seasons as an assistant coach with Cal-Bakersfield from 2006-2011. He's a former JUCO All-American quarterback out of Compton Community College in California. He later played at Fort Hays State, a Division II school, and set a bunch of program records there before bouncing around the NFL, NFL Europe, and the Arena League. He became the head coach at Compton in 2007, moved to the same job at a California high school in 2014, and took a job as Garden City (Kan.) CC's offensive coordinator in 2015.

Jason Brown, the coach of the Independence Community College featured on season three of Netflix's "Last Chance U," recently resigned from the position. Brown's resignation comes on the heels of his text message to a player, in which he said the following: "I am your new Hitler." The player Brown sent the text to Alexandros Alexiou, a German native. In an exchange with Alexiou, Brown told the freshman he had 17 disciplinary points out of the 25 you're allowed before getting kicked off the team. "410pm on field u German f---," Brown texted Alexiou in an exchange Alexiou posted on social media. "u have 17 points toward your 25 points ... u got an extra point for not hanging the lion poster as instructed I'm your new Hitler figure out your life."
