I was reading my “Daily Reader” from John Maxwell on my Kindle app, and yesterday's lesson was about making failure your best friend. I love how easy he puts part of this. John mentions “When you are able to learn from any bad experience and thereby turn it into a good experience, you make a major transition in life. For years I've taught something that I think gives useful insight on the subject of change: People change when they… Hurt enough that they have to, Learn enough that they want to, and Receive enough that they are able to.” Thinking about these true statements got me thinking not only about myself in each of those three, but also the fact that others are there too. I want to focus on helping others to receive more encouragement to help them get through the first two parts. Another thought from John Maxwell, where he picked up this from Jim Rohn: “Don't let your learning lead to knowledge; let your learning lead to action.” Hey, don't get me wrong, knowledge is great - but what do we do with that knowledge? Those ideas? Those thoughts? Putting them into action is the key and when that action leads to us getting better, along with helping others to get better too, well that is a great place to be. I know I need to continue putting more action into my life and looking to make a difference in the lives of others. I found another clip that I wanted to share, but I'll save that for Monday.
