Both the biblical narrative and church history are full of examples of the gospel being proclaimed in the "open-air." Nevertheless, many today claim such an approach is outdated and counterproductive. The guests on this episode of The Lancaster Patriot Podcast beg to differ. Listen in as Chris Hume asks three seasoned open-air preachers about their work and the reason they believe there is still a place to proclaim the gospel of Christ in the open-air.About the guests:Bill Adams is the overseer for SFOI.org, an organization with a vision is to "Mobilize the Next Generation of George Whitefields to Saturate the Western World with the Gospel." The Christian Outlook - December 7, 2024 Scott Furrow talks with Albert Mohler about the British Parliament's move to legalize assisted suicide and the dangers of reducing life's value to "personal autonomy." Dr. Mohler explains why this legislation is incompatible with Christian ethics and emphasizes the need for believers to live faithfully in this cultural moment. Bill Bunkley invites Ray Comfort to share about Comfort's new book, Fifty Years of Open-Air Preaching. Reflecting on the impact of biblical principles, he highlights how the Gospel changes lives and calls Christians to boldly proclaim it in today's culture Scott Furrow invites Scott Keith and Kurt Winrich from the ministry 1517 to discuss the enduring importance of Gospel clarity, rooted in the legacy of the Reformation. They reflect on how biblical theology addresses humanity's deepest questions and equips Christians to share the good news effectively.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Mary chats with evangelist Ray Comfort on his new book, "50 Years of Open-Air Preaching: Everything I've Learned". Ray's compassion for the lost is his defining ministry characteristic. Having gone face to face with the public, and with a message most either haven't thought about on any given day, or are outright hostile to, he has no doubt learned many things about humans. But mostly, he understands the war we are in, the idea that we are pilgrims and strangers in a hostile land as a whole. Can any of us take on the public square? Are we equipped? What does it take to overcome the fear of man? All this and more will be discussed in the first half of our podcast. In the 2nd half, Mary will take on a handful of headlines to further prove, if need be, that the world is careening out of control and at least a small segment is looking for the Saviour, as opposed to any old man or devil to make sense of it all.
