FIGHT LAUGH FEAST PRESENTS SHOWS PROCLAIMING THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST OVER ALL OF LIFE.

The CrossPolitic Studios podcast is a powerful and refreshing Christian commentary podcast that boldly tackles cultural and political issues from a biblical perspective. This podcast is not afraid to pull its punches and consistently emphasizes the lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is its unwavering commitment to the truth of Scripture. The hosts fearlessly discuss current events, philosophy, and theology, all while keeping their focus on Christ as King. They provide informative and thought-provoking discussions that challenge listeners to think critically about their beliefs and engage with culture in a way that reflects their Christian worldview. Additionally, the variety of topics covered ensures that there is something for everyone.
Another great aspect of this podcast is the engaging and entertaining nature of the discussions. The hosts have a great chemistry together and their conversations are filled with laughter, making it enjoyable to listen to. Despite discussing serious topics, they manage to keep the mood light-hearted without compromising the depth or importance of their message.
While there are many positives about this podcast, one potential drawback is the inclusion of certain guests or viewpoints that some listeners may not agree with. This can be divisive for those who strongly hold certain beliefs but may find themselves challenged by differing perspectives. However, this also provides an opportunity for growth and learning as listeners are encouraged to engage with ideas even when they disagree.
In conclusion, The CrossPolitic Studios podcast is a game-changer in the Christian commentary genre. It offers practical insights from a biblical worldview, encourages critical thinking about current events, and glorifies God in a world that often rejects Him. While it may not always align perfectly with every listener's personal beliefs, it serves as an important resource for those seeking to navigate culture through a Christ-centered lens. Overall, this podcast is definitely worth listening to for anyone looking for engaging discussions on politics, culture, theology, and more from unapologetically Christian perspectives.

Michael Thiessen, Joe Boot, and Nate Wright unpack how Christians can practice genuine hospitality to immigrants without losing the cultural and legal unity of a nation. Drawing on Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and Psalm 2, they argue for care for the sojourner, one law for native and foreigner, and real integration through shared public life—pushing back on church antinomianism and the “multiculturalism = virtue” assumption. They also address the “coercion” objection (every institution disciplines) and why rulers still owe public allegiance to Christ. What do regular churchgoers actually believe? Host Casey Harper sits down with Family Research Council’s David Closson and The Washington Stand’s Sarah Holliday to unpack a new survey from FRC’s Center for Biblical Worldview, conducted with researcher George Barna. The study explores how adult churchgoers view today’s key social issues and their personal worldviews.

If you hired someone tomorrow, do you know what their first 10 days would actually look like? If not, you have work to do. Do you have a clear onboarding plan, or is your plan to just throw them into the deep end and see if they can swim? One is better than the other. Hire slower. Onboard sharper. Be prepared and prepare your people. You have work to do when onboarding new hires.

Welcome to this episode of the “Prison Pulpit”. I'm your China travel guide, Missionary Ben, recording today from Ephesus in Turkey! Follow me on X (@chinaadventures) where I share daily reminders to pray for China. You can also email me anytime @ bfwesten at gmail dot com. Last but not least, to learn more about our strategic prayer and missions projects or to get one of my missionary biographies, visit PrayGiveGo.us! Why the Prison Pulpit? The goal is to remind everyone to pray for persecuted believers as Hebrews 13:3 teaches us to do (“Remember those who are in prison, as bound with them”). I’ve done this by sharing (imprisoned) Pastor Wang Yi’s writings in China. But since we have nothing of his written from WITHIN prison walls, I’ve turned to other persecuted ministers who have gone before, such as Richard Wurmbrand, to give us a voice, or reminders, or sermons, literally from prison. But Pastor Wang Yi was the reason why I started the Prison Pulpit series to begin with. And in December, as the anniversary of his arrest approaches, we will go back over much of what was written during that tumultuous time in late 2018. But since I’m literally in Ephesus right now, I want us to hear from another prison pulpit, specifically the words of the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Ephesians: Eph 3:14-20: For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Eph 6:18-20: praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. Ejected from Egypt Today I also want to continue meditating on what I experienced in Egypt this past weekend. My 10+ hour ordeal happened in 7 stages (which included much standing, sitting, drinking (h20), and smoking (them): Detained at Customs for backpack search and (relaxed) interrogation. Hopeful. (Midnight-2am) “Led” through the creepy corridors of the airport, then left in the hallway. Flight booked. (2-3am) Moved to the office of a “senior” officer doing unrelated paperwork. Awaiting deportation (3-4am) Led by multiple new officers through the airport to the departure gate. Waiting. Waiting. (4-5am) Board flight (passport to staff), told I’d be met by security in Istanbul. Worried. In the air. (5-9am) Last to deplane. Escorted to terminal by security. Told to wait. Still worried what’s next. (9-10am) Told that they were waiting for more info from Egypt (yikes), but plans changed. Free! What would you do if the government kicked down your door, threw you in solitary confinement for 900 days without trial, and labeled you a domestic terrorist for standing up for what you believe? Join Gabe Rench with January 6th political prisoner Jake Lang as they uncover the reality of what really happened that day and why Jake believes every American man has a biblical duty to resist tyrannical government when it tramples on constitutional rights.

In the recent contention over Tucker Carlson’s interview with Nick Fuentes and comments about the nation of Israel, that Tony Perkins and others in the sphere of public policy have now commented on, have you seen anyone address the application of the prophecy in Isaiah 49:1-3, particularly v. 3, “And He said to me, ‘You are My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified’”? I haven’t, so I will offer one that goes beyond semanical wrangling of the word "Israel."

Welcome! We kick off this episode talking about hunting season, and all the things Luke has lost in the woods so far... Next, John thinks Church People should be more "clique-ish." But--his thoughts are interrupted by Cami and Collin, who found something HILARIOUS on Google Maps. It's a 13-year dream come true for John! Later, what's the opposite of joining a "clique?" Wouldn't it be joining a group of people who don't like spending time together? FINALLY: we share listener answers to the punchline challenge! Thanks for playing our game with us, Neighbor! The people you hire aren't you. That's why you're the one doing the hiring, and they're the ones being hired. That is to say, business owner's shouldn't expect their employees to think like them, and show the sort of initiative required to be, well, an owner. If they did, they'd be an owner. But the person you're hiring is not an owner. It's unfair to them, and unrealistic for you, to have that sort of expectation of them. All it does is breeds frustration for everybody involved. Your onboarding strategy needs to be more than, "Shadow me for a day, and good luck." And then get exasperated with them 3 months in for still not performing up to your expectations. If you don't show them how to win, don't be surprised when they lose.

This comes from a collection of short talks recorded during the FLF 2025 Conference

Dr. Michael Thiessen and Dr. Joe Boot preview the Ezra East conference (Nov. 1, 2025, Ingersoll, ON) and tackle one of the West’s most urgent questions: How should Christians think about immigration? Joe walks through the major waves of immigration to the US, UK, and Canada and shows why not all immigration is the same—older migration from Christianized nations was far less destabilizing than today’s government-engineered mass migration from non-Christian contexts. They discuss how secular, globalist elites have used “multiculturalism” to dilute the Christian character of Western nations and why importing rival law orders (like Sharia) is not the same as church courts or Christian mediation. They also highlight key themes for the conference: Islam, immigration, the loss of Christian culture, and recovering a biblical balance between hospitality and preserving community. In the Premium+ post-show, Michael asks Joe: Why do Islamists and the radical left keep teaming up (e.g. “queers for Palestine”)? Joe explains their shared enemy (Christianity), shared totalitarian impulse, and political convenience.

A Senior Fellow for Biblical Worldview for a national Christian ministry recently commented on needing to win a certain case in the U.S. Supreme Court and on how to win. The question we examine today is whether his thoughts on the subject are his own or those informed by God's word. The answer depends on something I once never considered: Our knowledge of and love for the person of Christ.

We dove headfirst into a sugar coma and called it a conversation. We covered everything—music, Halloween, and candy—basically the holy trinity of chaos. We started off pretending to be intellectuals discussing the “accessibility of musical instruments,” which quickly devolved into us arguing about who still owns a recorder and why. Then we slid into Halloween like adults who still think pillowcases make the best candy bags. We reminisced about trick-or-treating, back when we had functioning knees and strangers weren’t handing out toothpaste. We waxed poetic about decorations—because nothing says “festive spirit” like accidentally impaling yourself on a plastic tombstone in the yard. Of course, we analyzed candy with the seriousness of food critics. We debated hard candy versus gummy like philosophers who’ve clearly lost control of their lives, and then somehow invented the idea of a “chocolate apocalypse,” where everyone’s just bartering for Snickers. Naturally, we ended up bragging about our old Halloween costumes—because nothing says confidence like admitting we once wore a trash bag and called it a “grim reaper cloak.” We even wandered into haunted houses and Judgment Houses, which, honestly, felt a little too real. Turns out we like being terrified, as long as it’s in a controlled environment with snacks.

Without being led astray by the impracticalities of business textbooks, there is good benefit to being more thoughtful in your approach to winning at business. A business owner is set up to always be one step behind if he's constantly reacting to what the market and his competitors throw at him. This is a formula for failure. Hope is not a strategy. Vibes aren’t strategy. Guessing is not a growth plan. Strategy is a set of decisions built on reality. It's making things happen, instead of waiting for them to. An owner should approach his business with intention and focused execution. That's what a more comprehensive strategy outlook provides. It sets you up better for the win.

Today we examine the belief of a “Senior Fellow for Biblical Worldview” for a national organization about the importance of winning as a guiding principle. We examine this belief in light of the argument Christian lawyers recently made in favor of the unconstitutionality of state laws prohibiting "conversion therapy." We will also compare his belief that "the left" is being "ridiculous" against my belief that Christians are denying what they believe is true.

What happens when Christian leaders refuse to police their own ranks while building coalitions with people who celebrate false gods and compromise biblical truth for political victory? Join Gabe and Toby alongside special guests Jeff Durbin, J.R. Haas, and Bradley Pierce as they wrestle with the "no enemies on the right" mentality and why Christians must learn to build faithful coalitions without abandoning biblical standards in the process.

We really outdid ourselves in this chat — it’s like a family dinner that got hijacked by a stand-up open mic. We covered everything: home décor disasters, taxidermy gone wrong, and the art of telling jokes that only half the room understands. We confessed our crimes against interior design, admitted to traumatizing our kids with dad jokes, and tried to explain comedy to ourselves like we were translating a foreign language we barely speak. At one point, we took a scenic detour into turkey shoots (because nothing bonds friendship like firing at paper poultry), tried to fold our dignity into origami, and then pretended to be film critics who definitely stayed awake through The Godfather. Naturally, we overanalyzed Stephen King’s pen names like we were uncovering a government conspiracy, got sentimental about horror movies, and agreed that the 80s were peak cinema — mostly because that’s when our metabolism still worked. Somewhere between discussing guilty pleasure films and planning a movie marathon we’ll never actually organize, we realized the common thread holding it all together: our inability to stay on topic. But hey, at least we laughed — mostly at ourselves.

Dr. Michael Thiessen and Pastor Nate Wright get practical about what it means to build Christian culture at the national level. Picking up from last week, they argue that freedom is only secure when it’s tethered to Christ—and then work through the “messy details” Christians must think through: covenantal nationhood, immigration and oaths, public worship, courts and penalties, and the Lord’s Day. In this conversation, they cover: * Why nations are covenantal, not merely ethnic, and why that matters for law and belonging (Ruth, Rahab, Kuyper, Rushdoony).* Immigration & citizenship: the biblical categories of sojourner/resident/citizen; why oaths to God and constitutional loyalty are essential; equal civil justice without parallel legal systems.* Public worship & free speech: protecting public order (no high places, no public idolatry or blasphemy) while safeguarding reasoned religious dispute.* Courts & penalties: replacing warehousing prisons with restitution and structured bond-service, reserving capital penalties for capital crimes.* Lord’s Day in public life: civil rest that protects worship without policing private piety.* Common objections (“Isn’t this illiberal?” “What about free speech?”) and why law is a teacher. This is not only a sin against Christians. It is also a sin against all non-Christians. For the government is brutally and ruthlessly threatening them and hindering them from coming to Jesus. Welcome, Neighbor, to the table of Kokomo's 6th Funniest Comedian... We're not as young as we used to be! We're even older than we were a few seconds ago, when we said that... Then: The good citizens of Kokomo have been working on a tough question... which crimes should we care about? Recently a teenage father committed homicide, and everyone seems to agree that sort of thing should be stopped. But--what about a "teeth whitening business" full of prostitutes? (Note: be suspicious of any business that offers "massages" as an add-on!) Later: Luke is kicking off his Courageous Era by upsetting his elderly Catholic relatives. His meme is a bit "niche." But you will probably understand it, Neighbor! Contact the Comedian's family at nextdoor@johnbranyan.com .
