God is a covenant maker. He is a promise keeper. The first covenant mentioned in Scripture is the covenant with Noah. This sign, the reminder of this covenant with Noah and all of creation, is the rainbow. While this promise holds some profound truths that remain relevant today, what may be more evident is the character of God.
With Noah and his family planted in the new world, and sin and violence washed away, humanity is ready for a new beginning! There's only one problem: sin. It resides in the human heart and tragically reappears in Noah's family, ruining everything once again.
After God floods the earth, creation begins again. How will things be different? God gives a new set of instructions to Noah that sounds a lot like the first he gave to Adam and Eve. There are some differences, though, and we learn a lot about God and ourselves by reflecting on these new instructions.

The story of Noah's flood is darker and different than the one we learned about in Sunday school. It's also more complicated: How should we read it? As a historical account, religious myth, or spiritual parable? What do we have to learn from God's judgment of the earth and His rescuing of life by one righteous man? Let's "dive" in!
Noah and his family have been on the ark for 150 days. Will they ever leave? What can we learn from Noah's story about waiting on the Lord?
After Noah's flood, something changes. God promises to not curse the ground and never destroy humankind. What happens? Noah offers a sacrifice. Some sacrifice, right? What made Noah's offering so special? And what does it mean for us?

Seven games, six road victories, four of them shutouts. It was a weird weekend in the NWSL, and the guys scan the ups and downs from all of the action (1:14). Then, they peruse Gotham's 3-1 home victory over the North Carolina Courage (23:01). Each club had a starting center back missing, but only one didn't play like it. Is Gotham the sleeping giant that has finally awoken? Has North Carolina reached the end of the road with Nahas-Ball, especially since Jaedyn Shaw and Ashley Sanchez really aren't clicking? What does this result portend for the rest of Gotham's and North Carolina's seasons? Join our Patreon for only $6/month ($60/year) to get all of our exclusive bonus content! Everybody knows the story of Noah and the flood. Or do they? There's plenty in the story that we skip or ignore--for starters, where the story begins. Before we can discuss the story of Noah in Genesis 6, we have to talk about his family tree in Genesis 5.
The Bible has strange things in it -- especially in the book of Genesis. It's a different world from ours, but understanding this world in Genesis helps us understand the story of Noah. And it helps us answer an important question: What would possibly motivate God the Creator to utterly wipe out His creation?
With the impending flood, God gives Noah instructions to build an ark to save him and his family. What can we learn about their partnership, and what does it mean for us today?
Join us on The Miracles Files podcast for an unbelievable tale of faith and survival off the coast of Peru! Peruvian fisherman Maximo Napa, a 61-year-old known as ‘Big Cat,' was lost at sea for 95 days after a storm wrecked his boat in December 2024. Facing starvation, he ate roaches, birds, and turtles and only drank rainwater he could collect. Despite his low chance of survival, Napa refused to give up hope and faithfully prayed for God to rescue him. It is a thrilling tale of grit and conviction on the stormy seas in our latest episode of Miracles In the News.

Adrift in the middle of the ocean, two survivors find themselves aboard an abandoned ship… but they're not alone. Something lurks in the darkness—something with gnawing teeth, countless eyes, and an insatiable hunger. A nightmare of survival, paranoia, and cannibalistic horror awaits.Ship of the Cannibal Rats by David O'Hanlon
Alright people! the Oscars were last night, and we have got a LOT to break down about it. Mostly just the vast amount of celebrating that seemed to go down around this ceremony, truly making it feel like the first time in years that they were actually about the art form and not the politics. For the most part. First, Luk and Dom break down the second episode of Season 2 of Lost, Adrift, before Dom & Dustin break down the Oscars, compare their predictions versus who won, and then proceed to go on random tangents about Joker. All of that and much more coming up this year on the #talkintvpodcast

Time for a new Comic Book Bears Podcast audio episode! Steve, Caleb and Billy Z reconvene for two hours of four color funnybook talk! On the docket this time are a few news items (Diamond's bankruptcy, Marvel Studios not inviting Rob Liefeld to an afterparty) followed by a half dozen books we wanted to spotlight. Hit play and hear about what we thought of the inaugural issues of a few new series: Aquaman (DC), West Coast Avengers (Marvel), Lawful (Boom!) and The Death of COPRA (Image). We also chat about Tim Bird's autobiographical graphic novel Adrift in a Painted Sea (Avery Hill Publishers) and DC's tabloid reprinting of the 1980 Untold Legend of The Batman mini-series. Also, please note that this episode was recorded at the beginning of the month and as 2/3rds of the team here are huge football fans we offer up what were our Super Bowl LIX predictions. (One of us gets it spectacularly wrong.)

"I have learned the importance of intentionally fixing our eyes on Christ regardless of what we may be tempted to view around us. When our gaze drifts from Him, our vision is blurry and distorted. Hello, spiritual astigmatism! We become troubled and transfixed on the things around us rather than on Him. As our focus wanes, so does our trust in the One who is the author and perfecter of our faith. Having sight but not being able to see Jesus and His work in our lives would be a tragedy more daunting than we can even imagine."Leave a comment for Quantrilla: https://incourage.me/?p=251091--For moments of bite-sized encouragement, the new DaySpring Daily Devotional Bible for Moms is just the ticket. Jason “Foxy” Fox embodies resilience forged through two decades of elite military service and a deeply personal battle with mental health. Enlisting in the Royal Marines at 16, he rose through the ranks to join the UK's clandestine Special Boat Service (SBS), where he led high-stakes operations across Iraq, Afghanistan, and other global hotspots for 10 years. From hostage rescues to counter-narcotics missions, Fox operated at the razor's edge of combat, earning expertise in demolitions, jungle survival, and maritime counter-terrorism. Yet beneath the hardened exterior lay a brewing storm – the psychological toll of relentless combat zones and fractured personal relationships culminated in a 2012 medical discharge diagnosed with PTSD. Adrift after leaving the forces, Fox faced what he describes as his “darkest hour”: a collapsing marriage, toxic relationships, and spiralling suicidal thoughts. “I was a mess,” he recalls. “I'd built this identity as an invincible soldier, but admitting I needed help felt like weakness”[9][18]. His turning point came through therapy and organisations like Rock2Recovery, where he learned to reframe vulnerability as strength. This journey inspired his Sunday Times bestselling memoir *Battle Scars*, a raw account of confronting mental health struggles that resonated far beyond military circles. Fox's second act has seen him become a beacon of hope through television and advocacy. As a lead instructor on Channel 4's *SAS: Who Dares Wins* since 2015, he tests civilians and celebrities alike with brutal Special Forces training drills, using the show as a platform to discuss emotional resilience. His investigative series *Inside the Real Narcos* further showcased his ability to thrive under pressure, embedding with drug cartels in Latin America[1][4]. Beyond screens, Fox co-founded BreakPoint, a team-building company applying military strategies to corporate challenges, and delivers keynote speeches on leadership and overcoming adversity. Now a prominent mental health advocate, Fox emphasises that “PTSD isn't just a soldier's struggle – life can traumatise anyone”. Through his 2022 *Life at the Limit* speaking tour and ongoing work, he teaches practical techniques for managing stress: acknowledging fears, creating action plans, and finding purpose through service. From surviving Taliban ambushes to navigating depression's trenches, Fox's story proves that even the toughest battles can be won – not through sheer force, but by embracing vulnerability and supporting others on their journeys. As he puts it: “True strength isn't about being unbreakable. It's about learning how to rebuild when you do”. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is a game about stories and potential. It is about rebellion and hope as much as they are about loss and defeat, a fork in the road coming down to decisions and dice. Decisions where the people around you can become found family or lost in the echoes of the dark abyss you move through. Decisions where one closed door could be drenched in meaning, as much as it could just be an impassable roadblock. It pushes and challenges you at every corner, forcing you to adapt and live in its galaxy rather than adjust to yours. San Diego artist and graphic designer Ron Miriello's new art installation "Found Adrift" is inspired by a scrapbook of seaweed. The exquisite collection was gathered by an unknown young woman from Searsport, Maine, in 1876. Tucked away in a trunk for almost 150 years, it was rediscovered by Richard Rydell, a local collector and lifelong friend of Miriello's. The intricate beauty captured in the original specimens inspired the artist during a visit to Maine in 2023 and became the subject for his extensive new collection of works on canvas, textiles and lithographs - all in service to the stunning, hidden beauty of nature itself. This week on "Streaming Without A Paddle" Andrew and Ted sit down to discuss Prime's acquisition of the Icelandic production "Touch". Based off the novel of the same name it's about an Icelandic man in search of the Japanese woman that he met and had a relationship with 50 years prior when the two of them lived in London where he worked in the girl's father's restaurant. Set in both present-time as well as 1970 this story follows both the struggles of an emerging love as well as the hopes of rekindling what was some 50 years earlier. Directed and told by Baltasar Kormákur (Beast, Adrift, Contraband, The Deep) it is truly a heart warming story that most can relate too as we all have someone we have either thought ... "what if" and or "where are they now".

Practicing the Way with John Mark ComerThe start of a new year prompts the reflection that if we are not intentionally modeling our life after Jesus, we are likely being formed by something or someone else. Adrift in the cultural current, we're likely to be carried to places we never consciously chose and wonder how we got there. In Practicing the Way, John Mark Comer explores what it means in our times to be a disciple of Jesus -- to be with him, to become like him, and to do as he did:“ It seems to me that the telos of the spiritual journey in the Christian way is becoming a person of love through deepening union with the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…It's the two greatest commandments: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself, that Jesus put at the center of apprenticeship to him.” - John Mark ComerWe hope this conversation encourages you to move slowly as you abide with Jesus this year, and by his grace are transformed into a person of deeper love, joy, and peace. This podcast is an edited version of a conversation recorded in 2024. The Christian Outlook - December 7, 2024 Scott Furrow talks with Albert Mohler about the British Parliament's move to legalize assisted suicide and the dangers of reducing life's value to "personal autonomy." Dr. Mohler explains why this legislation is incompatible with Christian ethics and emphasizes the need for believers to live faithfully in this cultural moment. Bill Bunkley invites Ray Comfort to share about Comfort's new book, Fifty Years of Open-Air Preaching. Reflecting on the impact of biblical principles, he highlights how the Gospel changes lives and calls Christians to boldly proclaim it in today's culture Scott Furrow invites Scott Keith and Kurt Winrich from the ministry 1517 to discuss the enduring importance of Gospel clarity, rooted in the legacy of the Reformation. There's a cease-fire in Lebanon but no path forward in Gaza, and this raises the question of Israel's strategic direction. How come Israel can end the war with Hezbollah but not with Hamas?
Larry is joined by writer and historian Timothy Shenk to discuss his newest book, ‘Left Adrift: What Happened to Liberal Politics'. They begin their conversation by talking about why they think the Democrats failed with their messaging in the 2024 election and what the rise of Trumpism means about American culture today. Next, Shenk shares the historic and societal reasons he was inspired to write his book, which tells the story of modern Democratic ideology through the lens of highly influential political thinkers like Stan Greenburg (19:23). They then look at historical figures like George Wallace and Eugene McCarthy to see how their vision of populism led to the rise of politicians like Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, and Barack Obama (24:50). After the break, Larry and Tim debate what the Democrats can do to reconnect to the working and lower classes and examine which major political party is best positioned for success going forward (52:05). The British literary quarterly Granta has published a new issue dedicated to Chinese writers, featuring familiar mainstays of contemporary literature and some fresh new voices. This week on Sinica, I chatted with Thomas Meaney, editor of Granta, about what's happening in the literary scene in China today and how this fantastically interesting issue came together.
