307 – How often do you think about your relationship with God? Not very often, once in a while, maybe a lot, maybe even every day? What kind of a relationship do you have or would like to have with God? Maybe a more important question is: What kind of relationship would God like to have with you? God has infinite love for you and is always willing and able to support you. In this week's episode, we're going to talk about a deeper kind of relationship, called a covenant, which God had with people in the Bible and how that relates to us today. And we'll talk about why God wants a covenant relationship with you, what that means, and the blessings it brings. If the last thing, practically, that Moses said before he died was, “You need to be in a covenant relationship with God,” then it would behoove us to figure out what that is. What is a covenant relationship with God? In Deuteronomy, we have a series of sermons that Moses preached just before he died. And Moses thought a covenant relationship with God was that important — that this would be almost the last thing he said. In this passage, we learn three things: 1) the uniqueness of the covenant, 2) the mystery surrounding the covenant, and 3) the hero of the covenant. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on September 9, 2007. Series: The New Heart God Gives. Scripture: Deuteronomy 29:2-4, 9-18. Today's podcast is brought to you by Gospel in Life, the site for all sermons, books, study guides and resources from Timothy Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Pastor Jim walks through the fall of the northern kingdom in 2 Kings 17, tracing Israel's exile back to a long history of idolatry, broken covenants, and corrupt leadership. Jim weaves together the story of Eden, Egypt, and the kingdom to show how exile is not just a political event but a spiritual consequence of rejecting God's presence and purpose. Through vivid examples, he explains how idolatry shapes our identity, leading us away from the life God intends and into emptiness, corruption, and disconnection. Jim highlights the warning signs God repeatedly gave His people and challenges us to consider what false gods we serve today. Ultimately, the message points to Jesus as the true King who enters our exile, takes on our punishment, and restores us to God's presence. Rather than settling for temporary substitutes, Jim invites listeners to turn again and again to the King who brings us home.
The Law of Liberty: Walking in Covenant Relationship The heart of biblical faith centers on covenant relationship with Yahweh, established through redemption and sustained through His Word. This understanding reveals that Yeshua came not to abolish the Torah but to fulfill it, demonstrating how we should walk in righteousness after receiving new life. Once redeemed, we need guidance on how to live in a way that pleases Yahweh. The Torah serves as this perfect law of liberty, providing freedom from sin, bondage, and destructive patterns while leading us into life and blessing. Rather than being burdensome, Yahweh's Word becomes our teacher, discipling us in paths of righteousness. The prophetic promise of the New Covenant involves Elohim writing His Torah upon our hearts, transforming us from within. This internal transformation enables us to walk according to the Spirit rather than flesh, fulfilling the Torah's requirements through love. Yeshua's sacrifice removes condemnation while establishing us as servants of righteousness. The Word of Yahweh remains our guide for holy living, offering wisdom, correction, and training in righteousness. Through circumcised hearts and renewed spirits, we discover that Torah observance flows naturally from an intimate relationship with our Creator, bringing joy and spiritual vitality to those who embrace this covenant walk. This post discusses the implications of Genesis 12:3 regarding the relationship between the United States and Israel, particularly in the context of recent conflicts involving Israel. I question whether the passage is a biblical command that believers to bless the modern nation state of Israel. I also explore the concept of covenant as it relates to this blessings and curses provision of the Abrahamic Covenant. Covenant Significance: We look at the importance of the covenant established between Yah and Avraham, which extends to his descendants, influencing how nations interact with Israel. Interpretation of Genesis 12:3: I argue that Genesis 12:3 is a prescription rather than a command, suggesting it reflects a reality of blessings for those who support Israel and curses for those who oppose the covenant relationship that exists between Abba Yah and Israel. Modern Political Context: I seek to highlight the divided opinions in the U.S. regarding support for Israel, particularly in light of recent statements from political figures referencing biblical support for Israel. Broader Implications: The blessings and curses mentioned in the covenant are seen as applicable not only to Israel but to all who enter a covenant relationship with Yah, emphasizing the need for obedience to Yah's Torah. Covenant Relationship with Yah: I stress that the covenant relationship is pivotal for understanding the dynamics of blessings and curses, which are tied to how individuals and nations treat Israel. Conclusion on Support for Israel: Ultimately, I conclude that support for Israel should be aligned with the principles of Yah's Torah and the teachings and example of Yeshua Messiah and reflect a genuine love for His chosen people as expressed in His covenant relationship with them, rather than blind political allegiance.
A Relational Fellowship: Pursuing a Covenant Relationship with GodInterview with Nsima David UdokoIn this Faith and Family Fellowship episode, Dallas interviews Nsima David Udoko.About the Book:God laid the foundation of human existence in the fabric of relationships with vertical and lateral components for survival and well-being. The vertical component establishes a spiritual connection with God the Creator, from which man derives energy for the lateral component. The lateral component establishes living paradigms and outlines healthy development and maintenance rules, obligations, and responsibilities. Therefore, whether vertically or laterally, human relationships are designed to be a two-way street, requiring reciprocal obligation or joint action. In “A Relational Fellowship: Pursuing a Covenant Relationship with God,” the author inspires the reader to embrace new birth as the sovereign act of God's grace that breaks the grip of sin on the believer to release him from human depravity so that he could share in God's nature to serve Him acceptably and profitably. The author conveys that a relational fellowship with God goes beyond believing in Him to being in accord with Christ in all viewpoints, interests, desires, and conduct.Buy Your Copy of the Book: https://a.co/d/4W3BIDwThank you for listening and supporting the 'Faith and Family Fellowship PODCAST SHOW'. Dan Jarms // Genesis 17 Sermon notes
Matthew 12:46-5046 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him.47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” 48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”John 3:3–8Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother's womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.'8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:19-2219 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.Hebrews 2:10-12For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.11 For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation, I will sing your praise.” 2 Corinthians 5:20"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us..." In Season 5 Episode 11 of the Forever Marriage Podcast, we talk about certain responsibilities that we pick up in the context of covenant marriage. Here's what they are: Love unconditionally. Covenant, unconditional love says, "I choose to love you, regardless of what I get in return from you."Honor respectfully. Covenant marriage is literally a descent into greatness. It's a race to see who will be the first to be last. The question becomes, "Can I outdo you in showing honor?"Submit mutually. Biblical submission says, "I come under you to lift you up. I want to help you experience God's fullness in your life. I want for you what God wants for you." Mutual submission is a demonstration of humility and surrender; it's not something we demand, but something we give. Mentioned in this episode:Scripture: Romans 5:8, Luke 6:32, Romans 12:10, Ephesians 5:33, Ephesians 5:21, 1 Peter 5:6Emerson Eggerich's Love & Respect

Again, we find ourselves within the book of Proverbs. And again, Proverbs revealed to us biblical truth that should govern our life and rule our life. We see in our chapter today that God is giving us his perspective, so again, that we can act in this world wisely, that we can demonstrate our knowledge of God, that we can behave in a way that shows that we're not like the world, but that we have been brought out of this world and into his marvelous light, and that light should guide us, that light is a light of illumination so we see things differently and that we can choose wisely. The psalm that we're going to study, Psalm 139 is a very difficult Psalm for a variety of reasons. First of all, there are some theological issues that can be quite confusing. Secondly, the language of this psalm is not typical Biblical Hebrew. There are many words that are unusual, so it requires a great deal of preparation.
