One of my favorite parts of working in podcasting and being a podcaster is hearing people's podcast suggestions and learning about new podcasts. Is there anything better than finding an amazing podcast with hundreds of episodes to completely obsess over and listen to day and night and ask every person you see if they've listened to it? I don't think so. This week's episode is different from my normal lesson based episodes, but I thought since it's Christmas and the end of the year it's a perfect time to let loose and talk about podcasting and all the podcasts I've loved in 2024.Links in this Episode: 1. Margo is joined by Elise and Halee, the dynamic duo behind the Easy Bake Coven podcast, where spooky meets sass. We're talking podcasts in Season 13! It's an interesting start, with this chat with Eugene Lazos, a military veteran in CA, who co-hosts with his friend (and fellow veteran) David. I accidentally called the show "The Geek Squad" (sorry) at the end of the interview, so, luckily, he didn't shoot me with a paintball (you'll hear why). I guess it's because our tv audio is dubbing everything into Podcastian. Meaning, it sounds raspy and unfunny after several minutes. But, I'll get it fixed! Thanks for coming on the show, Eugene! Eugene's info: Website: thegeeksaga.com ; Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, & YouTube :@thegeeksagahttps://linktr.ee/distancenerding Eugene's faves: Fatman on Batman, 'SMorning!, Nerd Poker. Hi Dungeoncast fans! This week, we wanted to offer you a taste of another show on the Realm network that we think you'll appreciate -- please enjoy this clip from Business dad, which features a conversation between Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and actor Rainn Wilson about the power of D&D as a parenting tool. Why You Should Play Dungeons and Dragons with Your Kids with Rainn Wilson: Alexis sits down with Rainn Wilson to talk about having a child during his meteoric rise to fame, playing Dungeons and Dragons with his son, and his emphasis on rewarding positive character traits. You may recognize Rainn from his roles in TV and film, including playing Dwight Schrute in THE OFFICE, the Peacock Travel series RAINN WILSON AND THE GEOGRAPHY OF BLISS and AMC's thriller DARK WINDS, Or you may have heard one of his several podcasts, including: "Radio Rental", "Metaphysical Milkshake", and his newest show, "Soul Boom". In this special Friday the 13th episode, we dig into the creepy history and cultural significance of this famously unlucky day and bring you four chilling real-life accounts from people who strayed beyond the supernatural edge and lived to tell the tale: A superstitious teen hears something unexpected and terrifying on the other end of a telephone line; in Puerto Rico, the unexplained presence of a huge moth signals the imminent death of loved ones; a family staying in a run-down motel encounters a violent unseen presence in their room; and the spirit of an abandoned cat finds a home among the living.Stories:Who Was On the Other Line? Encounters are always filled with surprises, but this week brings a surprise you might not see coming... Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum. You'll find yourself laughing one second, and cringing in terror the next. Imagine a floating Cheshire-like, teethy, horrifying smile haunting you and your roommates. Imagine falling into an ominous pit used for dark sacrifices in the deepest of the woods. Imagine a ghost watching TV with you and being visited by aliens. Not everyone has to imagine, because some of you have experienced these encounters yourselves. This episode is a reminder not to use a ouija board and will tug at your heartstrings and make you want to stop at that random restaurant on the side of the road when your sister randomly suggests it. To hear the entirety of Payne's haunting tale, it is on an episode of Radio Rental called Shadow Man (behind a paywall) To learn more about Ingrid Cold - listen to episode 262 We highly recommend that you watch the Video Version on YOUTUBE - you get to see our faces and reactions, catch glimpses of Leia and the photos we reference throughout the episode!
