Interview with Jeff Tripoli ! Jeff Tripoli is an American drummer, percussionist, and vocalist, raised in Syracuse, New York. With over 30 years of experience, his journey began in the clubs of Upstate New York, where he started performing professionally at just 17 years old. Jeff's drumming style reflects a diverse blend of musical influences and genres. Both on stage and in the studio, he has played with a wide array of artists and bands across Rock, Funk, Blues, Soul, Alternative, Bluegrass, Zydeco, Americana, Celtic, Folk, and World music. At the heart of his dynamic sound lies a drive to create fresh rhythms and unique artistic perspectives. He has toured extensively across the U.S., Canada, and Europe for more than 15 years, with appearances at music festivals including Grey Fox Bluegrass, The Great Blue Heron, Sterling Stage, Finger Lakes GrassRoots, Shakori Hills GrassRoots, North Texas Irish Festival and Canada's Irish Festival. Since 2015, Jeff has been a member of Canadian Celtic folk-rock band The Town Pants, touring internationally through cities like Vancouver, Buffalo, Toronto, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, and Dublin. He's featured on their 2018 release Something To Say. The Town Pants blend Irish traditional, folk-rock, and roots-Americana into their signature Celtic-Roots-Rock sound, showcased across six studio albums, two live albums, and a famously high-energy live show that's earned them a global fanbase.   "Natural Habitat" is an avant-garde percussion album that explores the raw, organic essence of sound. Using natural materials and unconventional techniques, it weaves earthy textures with hypnotic rhythms and spacious atmospheres. Trippy and immersive, each track feels like a sonic ecosystem—alive, evolving, and untamed. This journey opens with Khosrow Shakibayi's recital of Forough Farrokhzad's poem Ali Kuchike (Little Ali), setting the tone for a mix that lives in the tension between dreams and reality. As in the poem, where a luminous fish symbolizes beauty and longing yet is dismissed as impractical, Afrooz's selections capture melancholy while holding space for playfulness, curiosity, and wonder. Trippy, gritty, and deeply immersive, her sound is best suited for those who dance with their eyes closed and let the waves take over. The set closes again with the music of Fardin Ameri, a foundational figure in Iran's Minimal scene and a key inspiration for Afrooz. first became aware of this weeks guest through the socials...I kept seeing her name pop up on new nights in the Tampa/St. Pete area. It turns out she was involved in making most of those events happen. To say she hustles would be an understatement. Representing Tampa Florida, please welcome Trippy Britty.  She's a DJ, vocalist, and event coordinator based in Tampa Bay, rooted in intention, precision, and a deep dedication to underground music culture. Her mixing style is fluid and technical — blending genres, layering tracks, and crafting thoughtful, high-impact sets. In this mix, expect high-energy selections in the realm of jump up and neurofunk. Outside the booth, she's focused on growing the local EDM community through inclusive, grassroots events. On this episode, there's really nothing too exciting.  I threw that title in, that "Sing and Dance" thing to throw you off.  It's pretty much a boring episode, but I tried to make it a little different.  Lots of talking.  And then there's some musical interludes.  Trippy excursions for you to get freaky with.  Sometimes I feel like those can get a bit laborious for the listeners, but they do pad out the run time!  I totally forgot to mention that Diddy sort of evaded any of his serious charges, but that's his style.  We expected that.  I had this joke I was going to tell that his lawyers didn't really have a great legal defense, but they just took an old legal defense that Led Zeppelin used and sort of mumbled over it.  But alas.  That joke didn't make the episode.Support the show
