After revisiting James Gunn's Scooby‑Doo (2002) & Scooby‑Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed plus the animated classics Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost, Greg Alba & Aaron Alexander blast off into the 2000 direct‑to‑video cult favorite that mashes Roswell conspiracy with classic Mystery Inc. hijinks—breaking down every UFO sighting, Area 51 gag, and love‑struck montage as Shaggy (voiced by Scott Innes) and Scooby fall head‑over‑paws for hippie astronomer Crystal (Jennifer Hale) and her golden retriever Amber (Candi Milo), only to discover the pair's true extraterrestrial identities! We spotlight fan‑favorite scenes dominating YouTube—Scooby & Shaggy's “You and Me” desert dance, Black Canyon mine chase, the faux alien scare with Max (Jeff Bennett), Laura (Audrey Wasilewski) & Steve (Mark Hamill), and the epic UFO take‑off—while quoting iconic lines like “Groovy, like wow, we've been abducted!” and “Jinkies, those aren't space rocks—they're gold!” Cast roll‑call: Frank Welker (Fred), Mary Kay Bergman (Daphne), B.J. Ward (Velma), Scott Innes (Scooby/Shaggy), Hale, Milo, Hamill, Bennett, Wasilewski, and Neil Ross as desert conspiracy theorist Lester. We geek out over soundtrack bops “Scooby‑Doo, Where Are You?” (Third Eye Blind cover), “The Aliens Are Here,” and the dreamy “You and Me,” connect the film's desert setting to later cosmic storylines, and shout‑out the wider Scooby‑Doo franchise (Cyber Chase, Ghoul School, Camp Scare) while teasing how James Gunn's upcoming Superman keeps Scoob's writer in the pop‑culture spotlight. Send us a textJoin Cheryl Lee - That Radio Chick on STILL ROCKIN' IT for news, reviews, music and interviews with some of our favourite Australian musiciansWhat happens when you gather some of Australia's most celebrated musicians into one supergroup? The Fabulous Caprettos showcase exactly that magic, and founding member Rai Thistlethwayte joins us for an intimate conversation about the band's evolution, creative resilience, and the pure joy of collaboration.Rai shares exciting updates about the group's changing lineup, including the addition of the incredible Wendy Matthews, whose presence has transformed their performances and given Rai the opportunity to play piano for her iconic hit "The Day You Went Away." We also learn about Joe Camilleri joining the ranks, bringing his extraordinary saxophone skills and vibrant energy to the shows despite recently suffering a devastating theft of his prized guitars and personal effects. With characteristic thoughtfulness, Rai reflects on his own musical journey spanning over two decades – from his early musical foundations with piano-teacher mother and rock-musician father to the challenges of navigating an ever-changing industry landscape. "I still haven't had to have a real job yet," he jokes, while acknowledging the hard work, creative reinventions, and occasional heartbreak that comes with a lifelong commitment to music. Particularly moving is his candid discussion of the tragic road accident that affected Thirsty Merc, demonstrating how musicians process grief while continuing to create.Looking forward, Rai teases upcoming international touring plans, potential new solo material, and exclusive merchandise available only at Fabulous Caprettos shows. The conversation culminates with Rai introducing his deeply personal composition "Always Dreamed of You," a contemplative piano ballad exploring childhood connections and lifelong aspirations. This revealing glimpse into Rai's creative process perfectly captures why he remains such a vital force in Australian music.Don't miss The Fabulous Caprettos on their current Australian tour – check their schedule to experience these legendary performers bringing decades of hits to stages nationwide. As Rai says, these aren't just any musicians – they're truly "the greatest of all time."What has The Fabulous Caprettos' Rai Thistlethwayte been up to lately? Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 104th episode and celebrating eight solid years of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. This set covers discs 1876 to 1900 in my Classic Collection. For my Fuzzy Feature, from Disc 1879, I conference with friend and friend of the show Jesse Zimmerman to watch and then comment on "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny." Cross Connections I trace "Pick of Destiny" actors Jack Black, Kyle Gass, Amy Poehler, Paul F. Tompkins and Dave Grohl, as well as Navi Rawat, Allison Brie, Vivica A. Fox and Giancarlo Esposito. In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD transfers), comments on "100 Questions," "Persons Unknown," "Happy Town," "Doctor Who" and the 2001 Johnny Depp movie "From Hell." In my Current Collection (direct to digital), I have resumed archiving productions including "Doctor Who," "Towards Zero" and a few other Agatha Christie adaptations, as well as PBS "Queens of Mystery." Also remembering Linda Lavin in "Alice" and "Midcentury Modern," and Val Kilmer in "Riddle," and I step outside the format to celebrate the faithful service of a VHS-to-DVD dubber that did not survive the journey to our new home. I dive back into my interview with Jesse to chat about the "Doctor Who" finale and possibly final seasons, then share some thoughts from the first season finale. Finally, I celebrate eight years of VideoFuzzy by revisiting interviews I've featured over the years. Thank you once again to Kymn Files, Nancy Pearson, Nathan Irwin, Jesse Zimmerman, Marc Bailey, Austin Tichenor, Erin Weichel, Kirk Nybakken, Brad Johnson, Derek Pich, Schatzy Eichmann and my sister, Patti Ellingson. Thank you all so much for your time, your insights and the energy you shared with me in this effort. SPREADING THE WORD!
