Vegas Circle
How Steve Phillips Landed Mr. Fries Man Inside the Raiders Stadium!

Vegas Circle

Send us a textWhat does it take to turn a late-night hustle into a stadium-ready brand? We sit down with Steve Phillips, owner of Mr. Fries Man Las Vegas, to pull back the curtain on a journey powered by street marketing, credit smarts, and unapologetic belief. From LA catering to a Flamingo storefront to a coveted concession at Allegiant Stadium, Steve shows how grit and quality can beat perfect timing—and how one pitcher of Kool-Aid can win a room full of decision-makers.We get honest about the real math of stadium deals: why section placement is pure real estate, how event mix affects margin, and the inventory traps that can push a small operator into the red if crowds get shuffled to lower levels. Steve walks through his game-day prep, the 7:30 a.m. starts, and the variable staffing that keeps service tight when doors open. Then we tackle delivery. Fries don't travel well, so he enforces a three-mile radius to protect quality and reviews. Not all money is good money; sometimes the best marketing is saying no to orders that hurt the brand. The conversation widens to life insurance and family security. Steve lays out practical guidance on term coverage for young parents, when an IUL makes sense, and why he refuses to sell policies that clients can't sustain. We also explore Vegas nightlife from the inside—late headline sets, free-entry shifts, and how clubs lean on bar revenue. Through it all, Steve's theme is consistent: believe to a “delusional” degree, set clear boundaries when hiring friends, and stack small operational edges until they become momentum. We close with what's next: a sports bar concept that pairs fries, wings, and screens; and a nonprofit plan that connects at-risk teens to paid kitchen work and trade certifications in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. It's business with a backbone—profitable, community-forward, and built to last. If this story moves you, follow, share with a friend who needs a push, and leave a review to help more builders find the show.

Niemcy w Bawarii budują wspólnie z Ukraińcami fabrykę i centrum rozwoju dronów, a Duńczycy tworzą zakład produkujący paliwo do rakiet manewrujących. Chodzi szczególnie o te obszary, w których Ukraińcy mają przewagę: drony uderzeniowe i rozpoznawcze, rakiety dalekiego zasięgu, nowatorskie rozwiązania w zakresie precyzyjnego rażenia.

16.Infinite Glories of God – Part 2: Teachings from Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7.9 by Swami Mukundananda

Swami Mukundananda

In this episode, Swamiji continues his discourse on Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7, Verse 9, Part 2, reflecting on how the laws of nature themselves point to the existence of a Divine lawmaker. He explains that while science discovers and applies these laws, it cannot account for their origin. The very presence of order in creation implies a Creator who designed it.  Swamiji illustrates this truth with striking examples:  Fish live their entire lives in water without drowning, while humans can drown in a pool—God has designed them differently.  Birds fly effortlessly because their bones are hollow, a design that even modern aviation studies to replicate.  Flamingos migrate instinctively to Siberia, a land they have never seen, guided by divine programming.  He emphasizes that if there are laws, there must be a law maker, and that law maker is God. The glory of God is so vast that saints and poets have admitted defeat in trying to describe it. Swamiji cites Homer's insight that even thousands of musicians playing for thousands of years could not complete the narration of God's glories. Similarly, Vedic literature describes Anant Shesh, the thousand-hooded serpent, endlessly singing God's praises since the beginning of creation, yet never reaching completion.  Quoting Vyasadev, Swamiji explains that anyone who thinks they can count God's virtues has a childish intellect—just as a child imagines the mountain or ocean to be “this big.” The infinite glories of God cannot be measured. Even St. Augustine realized this when a child told him it was impossible to fit the ocean into a hole, just as it was impossible to capture God's glories in a book.  This episode inspires listeners to recognize God's infinite greatness, trust in His plan, and surrender with faith and devotion. The narration closes with the reminder that God's glory is boundless, and His love for us is eternal.  About Swami Mukundananda: Swami Mukundananda is a renowned spiritual leader, Vedic scholar, Bhakti saint, best-selling author, and an international authority on the subject of mind management. He is the founder of the unique yogic system called JKYog. Swamiji holds distinguished degrees in Engineering and Management from two of India's most prestigious institutions—IIT and IIM. Having taken the renounced order of life (sanyas), he is the senior disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, and has been sharing Vedic wisdom across the globe for decades.

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 5, 2025 4:19

Pozvanie do relácie prijal letecký inžinier, bývalý zamestnanec Generálneho štábu a MO SR, Vladimír Koláček.

2025-11-14 | Silicon Wafers 055 | Flamingo Over Novorossiysk: Ukraine's Long-Range Energy War. In the early hours of November 14, Russia's biggest Black Sea oil hub, Novorossiysk, went dark in a way that brings a thrill to pro-Ukraine activists on social media. Giant fireballs, and mobile phone footage of Russian's exclaiming and swearing in the entertaining we have become familiar with. But is the strike of strategic importance, and does it tell us anything about how Ukraine's deep strike capabilities are changing? Drones over the water, fire at the Sheskharis terminal, and something Moscow really hates to see, which is tankers not loading oil.The next night, hundreds of kilometres to the north, explosions roll across the Russian city of Oryol. Local Telegram channels film glowing debris raining into courtyards. And for the first time, Ukraine officially says it's using its new home-grown deep-strike weapon: the Flamingo cruise missile. Tonight, we're going to connect those two things — the burning oil terminal and the cute-sounding missile with a 3,000-kilometre reach — and ask: How is Ukraine's second front of the war unfolding — not the territorial war, but the one against Russian energy, logistics, and the regime's balance sheet?----------SOURCES: Kyiv Post – “Novorossiysk Oil Shipments Suspended After Ukraine Drone Strike Sets Key Terminal Ablaze” (Nov. 14, 2025)Kyiv Post – “Explosions Rock Russia's Oryol – Ukraine's Use of ‘Flamingo' Long-Range Missiles Confirmed” (Nov. 13, 2025)Kyiv Post – “ANALYSIS: Ukraine's Bombardment of Russia – Not Just Oil Refineries, Warships Any More” by Stefan Korshak (Nov. 5, 2025)The Kyiv Independent – “Ukraine confirms use of Flamingo missiles in strikes on Crimea, Zaporizhzhia, targets inside Russia” (Nov. 13, 2025)Reuters – “Storms, drone attacks and record oil exports pile pressure on Russian port of Novorossiisk” (Oct. 15, 2025)Reuters – coverage on Novorossiysk oil export suspension after attack (Nov. 14, 2025) AP News – “Ukraine's long-range strikes cut Russia's oil refining capacity by 20%, Zelenskyy says” (late Oct. 2025)Chatham House – “Ukraine's best defence against Putin's energy war is more attacks on Russia's oil refining sector” (2025)Foundation for Defense of Democracies – “Ukraine conducts strikes on Russian targets using domestically produced missiles and drones” (Nov. 2025)The Guardian – “Ukraine war briefing: Flamingo flies into battle, Zelenskyy defers to commanders over Pokrovsk” (Nov. 14, 2025) ----------SILICON CURTAIN FILM FUNDRAISERA project to make a documentary film in Ukraine, to raise awareness of Ukraine's struggle and in supporting a team running aid convoys to Ukraine's front-line towns.https://buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtain/extras----------SILICON CURTAIN LIVE EVENTS - FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN Events in 2025 - Advocacy for a Ukrainian victory with Silicon Curtainhttps://buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtain/extrasOur events of the first half of the year in Lviv, Kyiv and Odesa were a huge success. Silicon Bites Ep269 | News Update - Day 1,357 - 2025-11-11 | Robots at the Pier: Ukraine's Sea War Moves Ashore. Tonight: Ukrainian robot boats slam into Russia's Black Sea energy lifeline. We'll break down what got hit, why Tuapse matters, and how Sea Baby and Magura drones, plus the Flamingo long-range missile program, fit into a winter of attrition against the Kremlin's oil cashflow and logistics. What happened last night in the Black Sea? Overnight, multiple Ukrainian unmanned surface vessels—call them USVs, call them robot boats — surged into Tuapse, one of Russia's critical Black Sea oil export hubs. Local videos showed at least two heavy blasts and fires inside the harbour area. The Kyiv Independent reports: “Russia's port town of Tuapse… was rocked by explosions… local Telegram channels reported an attack by Ukrainian sea drones,” adding that regional authorities later confirmed an attack and claimed they destroyed four USVs. They also admitted: “One of the unmanned boats detonated near the shoreline… the shock wave damaged the second-floor windows… a garage and a boat shed.” Though we suspect that much more stuff than this went boom. MSP Industry Shifts: AI Investments Rise, Flamingo Challenges RMM Costs, and Accountability Looms

Business of Tech

The 2025 State of the MSP Report from TechPartners reveals a rapidly evolving managed service provider (MSP) industry, with nearly half of surveyed MSPs reporting revenues below $5 million. This indicates a market ripe for consolidation, as 60% of MSPs express interest in acquiring other firms while 28% are open to being acquired. The report highlights a shift in MSP roles, with 68% positioning themselves as one-stop-shop partners and 44% identifying as security partners, reflecting a growing demand for enhanced service offerings. However, only 16% of MSPs have audited their internal processes for compliance, suggesting that many are investing in advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) on unstable foundations.Flamingo, a Miami-based startup, has launched OpenFrame, an open-source platform designed to reduce costs for MSPs, which typically operate on low-profit margins of 8-12%. With $2.2 million in pre-seed funding, Flamingo aims to enhance operational efficiency and profitability, potentially increasing margins to 50-60%. Meanwhile, SuperOps has introduced an AI-native unified endpoint management platform targeting IT departments directly, consolidating workflows across various operating systems. This shift raises questions for MSPs about competition and the evolving landscape of IT service delivery.Air IT Group has rebranded to focus on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK by integrating AI and automation into their service model. This approach aims to transform technology from a burden into a growth enabler, addressing the underutilization of technology among SMEs. The company emphasizes the importance of enhancing customer experience and improving internal resource utilization, showcasing a trend where MSPs are moving from merely fixing technology to driving business outcomes. For MSPs and IT service leaders, the implications of these developments are significant. As the industry matures, those who standardize, document, and measure outcomes will gain leverage in a consolidating market. The focus on governance and accountability in AI deployment will be crucial, as automation increasingly takes on operational tasks. MSPs must adapt their business models to prioritize outcome-based delivery rather than traditional billing methods, ensuring they remain competitive in a landscape where AI capabilities are becoming commonplace.Three things to know today00:00 TechPartner's 2025 MSP Report: Small Firms Chase AI, While Consolidation Accelerates04:12 Flamingo's OpenFrame Challenges Legacy RMMs as SuperOps Goes Direct and Air IT Doubles Down on AI07:47 Agentic AI Forces a Redesign: Why Governance, Not Gadgets, Will Define the Next MSP Era This is the Business of Tech.    Supported by:  https://saasalerts.com/mspradio/

How Flamingo generated 1,000 waitlist signups before launching a product using a free community tool | Michael Assraf

Category Visionaries

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 31, 2025 26:01

Michael Assraf is building Flamingo, an open-source and AI-powered operating system for managed service providers. After exiting Vicarious in May 2024, he spent seven months on market research before writing a single line of code—conducting 15+ MSP interviews, mapping their complete tool stack economics, and testing distribution channels with a free community product. The research revealed a structural margin crisis: MSPs operate on 10-15% margins with 30% of revenue flowing to vendor payouts and 25-30% to technician labor. Meanwhile, private equity consolidation drives customer pricing down while legacy vendors raise prices. Michael closed a $2.2 million pre-seed in February 2025, built OpenMSP as a lead-gen vehicle that generated 1,000+ waitlist signups, and launched Open Frame with 70% of capital still in the bank. In this launch-day conversation, he breaks down why the $380 billion MSP market remains massively underinvested, how Facebook ads outperformed LinkedIn 5:1, and why he's giving away the core product while charging for hosted deployment. Topics Discussed: The seven-month research phase: 15+ MSP interviews, mapping 19 tool categories with pricing data, evaluating open source project maturity through commit frequency and VC backing MSP margin compression mechanics: 30% vendor payouts, 25-30% labor costs, 10-15% net margins being crushed by PE-driven consolidation and vendor price increases Building OpenMSP as distribution validation: four months before alpha, generated 1,000 waitlist signups and 200 Slack members while testing paid acquisition channels Why Facebook delivered 40%+ of leads at $6-8 CPL while outbound completely failed with IT-busy MSPs aged 25-50 in central US markets Launching with 70% of $2.2M pre-seed still in bank by solving for distribution and product-market fit before scaling headcount Open Frame's architecture: unified control plane over open source tools (RMM, SSO, zero trust) with dual AI agents—one for end users, one for technicians Offering both self-hosted (free, GitHub) and commercial SaaS (per-seat pricing starting January 2026) to build trust in an underserved market The MSP category opportunity: $380B market, 12% annual growth, 30-40K US MSPs, minimal VC-backed innovation against 20-year-old incumbents GTM Lessons For B2B Founders: Build lead-gen infrastructure before you have a product to sell: Four months before launching Open Frame, Michael shipped OpenMSP—a free tool that analyzes MSP tech stacks and suggests open source replacements. It wasn't a waitlist landing page; it delivered standalone value while capturing intent data. This generated 1,000 qualified signups and 200 Slack community members while simultaneously validating paid acquisition channels. By launch, he knew Facebook cost $6-8 per lead while outbound failed completely. Most founders build product first, then scramble for distribution. Michael inverted the sequence. Fire fast on sales hires in early stage, or don't hire them at all: Michael fired three VP Sales at Vicarious before learning the lesson: "The moment to bring salespeople is not when you are able to sell your product, is when someone else is able to sell your product." The critical test isn't whether the founder can close deals—founders sell vision and relationship. The test is whether a marketing person, SDR, or non-sales hire can generate revenue. Only then do salespeople accelerate an already-working motion. Hiring VP Sales at $50K ARR because the board wants "someone to own revenue" burns 12+ months and $200K+ learning this. Spend 6-12 months researching before building in unfamiliar markets: Michael conducted 15+ MSP interviews, mapped all 19 tool categories they use with pricing, evaluated open source alternatives by analyzing GitHub commit frequency and pull requests, identified which projects had VC backing for long-term viability, and tested multiple marketing channels before alpha deployment. This allowed him to launch with product-market fit indicators already validated and 70% of his $2.2M still in the bank. The alternative—build fast, iterate with customers—works when you deeply understand the market. When you don't, research is cheaper than pivots. Target categories where lack of innovation creates adoption momentum: MSPs represent 30-40K companies in the US alone, part of a $380B global market growing 12% annually. Yet VCs historically avoided the space assuming low ACV and high churn. The dominant platforms—ConnectWise, Datto, Asea—have existed 20+ years with minimal AI adoption or architectural modernization. Michael specifically chose MSPs because "in cyber security you would never get traction that we're getting right now unless you're spending millions of dollars." In crowded categories, distribution cost kills you. In starved categories, any credible innovation gets attention. Architect your product so adoption mechanically improves customer unit economics: Open Frame attacks both sides of MSP margin compression simultaneously. The open source tool suite eliminates the 30% of revenue paid to commercial vendors. The dual AI agent system (end-user self-service + technician orchestration) reduces the 25-30% spent on labor. Michael didn't find a problem and then figure out monetization—he reverse-engineered a solution where product adoption directly expands customer margins. When your product makes customers structurally more profitable, adoption isn't a marketing problem. // Sponsors: Front Lines — We help B2B tech companies launch, manage, and grow podcasts that drive demand, awareness, and thought leadership. www.FrontLines.io The Global Talent Co. — We help tech startups find, vet, hire, pay, and retain amazing marketing talent that costs 50-70% less than the US & Europe. www.GlobalTalent.co   //   Don't Miss: New Podcast Series — How I Hire Senior GTM leaders share the tactical hiring frameworks they use to build winning revenue teams. On this episode of STRAT, we examine Ukraine's FP-5 “Flamingo” cruise missile — a potentially game-changing long-range weapon now entering serial production. Retired Marine intelligence officer LtCol. Hal Kempfer walks through reported production rates, propulsion sourcing, warhead capabilities, and the strategic implications for Russian infrastructure and morale. We unpack claims about range, cost, and manufacturing scale; evaluate targets that suddenly fall within reach (refineries, rail chokepoints, weapons factories, command nodes); and consider how lower-cost mass production could reshape procurement and battlefield calculus. Discussion covers export and supply-chain angles, the possible US interest in the design or cost efficiencies, and political risks for Moscow if strikes reach population centers. Listeners will gain a clearer sense of how Flamingo changes deep-strike dynamics, what vulnerabilities Russia might face, and why industrialized, affordable cruise missiles matter to future warfare and deterrence. We end with policy options and scenarios.Takeaways:· Flamingo (FP-5) reportedly offers ~3,000 km range — deep-strike game changer.· Production is scaling quickly; Ukraine moving toward mass production capacity.· Unit cost reportedly far lower than US Tomahawk, enabling volume use.· Engines and components sourced creatively — raises proliferation and supply-chain questions.· Warhead options include bunker buster and cluster bomb units — wide target set.· 80–90% of Russian industrial targets could be within Flamingo range.· Strategic effects: strikes on refineries, rail, and weapons factories carry political risk for Moscow.· Wider implication: affordable cruise missiles could alter future procurement, deterrence, and escalation dynamics.#STRATPodcast #HalKempfer #MutualBroadcastingSystem #StrategicRiskAnalysis #FlamingoMissile #FP5Flamingo #UkrainianCruiseMissile #LongRangeStrike #DeepStrikeCapability #FirePoint #MissileProduction #LowCostCruise #CruiseMissileProliferation #RussianVulnerabilities #EnergyTargets #RailChokepoints #WarheadPenetration #PropulsionSourcing #MassedPrecisionFires #GeopoliticalConsequences

The mill is Olympic Yarn & Fiber located in Cosmopolis, WA. Weaving Studio: It's a work in progress.  Kelly's Projects Moose Hat for Moose It was a fun, one week project that I started on his birthday and finished a week later. The pattern would also make a good pillow. Cathy suggested to decrease faster than the pattern calls for so the hat wouldn't be pointed. I used that suggestion and got a traditional beanie/toque shape. Natural Dyeing Experiments  Elderberry leaves gave me a very light yellowy tan. I was hoping for green. I may have heated the dye pot too quickly. I simmered and then soaked a dyepot of walnut shells and hulls for about a week and then dyed with it. Heating and cooling the pot twice over the course of a day. Then I left the wool in to soak for a couple days. I got a darker brown than with the leaves, but not as dark as I thought I would get. Sort of a medium brown. Next up is loquat leaves.  Spirit Yarn Hat #7 is finished using mostly a white skein of acrylic DK. A small amount of striping with a purple leaning brown and a pink. Hat #8 is at the crown. It is a bright pink.  Wound the warp and dressed the loom for the chenille rug project. This project was inspired by Kelli who made one for her travel van. Instructions are in Summer 2024 Handwoven.  Swatched with handspun from Jazzman, “Judith says perfect fleece.” Haven't decided on the vest I'll make, but I've done a search with my gauge to find the patterns that might work. On this week's episode of The Modern Retail Podcast, co-hosts Gabriela Barkho and Melissa Daniels discuss Mammoth Brands' acquisition of Coterie, a luxury diaper brand that's had a fast-growing subscription business since 2021. While the terms of the deal are undisclosed, it's a big move for Mammoth whose portfolio up until now has included adult body care and grooming brands like Harry's, Flamingo and Lume. Then they unpack the news that Unilever is offloading luxury skincare brand Kate Somerville 10 years after its acquisition. It's now owned by Rare Beauty Brands, which also skincare brands Patchology and Dot Dot Dash. But it's another sign that Unilever is looking to simply its portfolio and get out of the luxury category, as Unilever also shuttered another brand in the category, Ren Clean Skincare, in July. This week's featured segment is an interview with James Lang, the vp of marketplace at Ulta Beauty (21:22). The company in October announced its first-ever third-party marketplace that's integrated into its website. The move is an attempt to grow e-commerce business without being saddled with inventory, but Lang explains how the company worked quickly and efficiently to stand up the operation within six months after announcing it in March. They discussed: How Ulta learned from other retailers' mistakes when building its marketplace.  How it plans to use third-party sellers as a way to jump on trend  The challenges and benefits of selling unowned inventory as a trusted legacy brand.
