As one half of the instrumental duo Hammock, Marc Byrd has been crafting some of the most influential ambient music of the last 20 years. His songs have found their way into major films, the stunning Ricky Gervais Netflix show After Life, and many more amazing places. But prior to his current career in the post-rock vanguard, Byrd wrote one of the biggest “worship” songs of the last couple of decades (“God of Wonders,”) and got his start in the alternative Christian rock world. And all along he has been haunted by the lingering effects of abuse, addiction, and trauma. On this episode of the True Tunes Podcast, we engage in an extended conversation with a man who is learning how to listen to the sounds resonating deeply within his heart, soul, and mind, and is inviting us to do the same.
Check out my first review on LCP podcast! I had so much fun doing the review for Ratchet with Tia Fabi of Geek Vibes Nation, that I’m going to do more reviews. I really enjoyed this series on Netflix, which has 6 episodes. It is set in Sweden and it’s in English. There was a very popular Detective TV series in Sweden called Wallander for many years based on the books by Henning Mankell. Even Kenneth Branagh did a BBC adaption in English, which was very good. This is the story of how he became that grouchy, alcoholic detective. Check it out and let me know what you think. I think my next review will be of the Ricky Gervais Netflix show Afterlife, which I loved! We've been busy at Spoilerpiece! After doing a not-so-deep dive into the power of cocaine in 1980s rap-rock fusions, Evan, Kris, and Dave get down to what they saw this week. First is Dave with Ricky Gervais’ Netflix series “After Life” (2:32). (Note: Dave makes reference to Mel Gibson’s THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST at about the 11:30 mark, but mistakenly calls it THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST which is Martin Scorsese’s hot take on whether Jesus was a hippie.) At 15:47, Evan covers SURVIVING R. KELLY and LEAVING NEVERLAND, two documentaries about accusations of abuse by R. Kelly (the answer’s in the title) and Michael Jackson. We’re not really a podcast for trigger warnings, but it’s heavy, heavy stuff. Lastly, Kris talks about BORDER (36:30), a Swedish movie about a customs agent who can smell fear, and that’s just the beginning. To end things, the guys have a quick discussion about how to tell non-critics whether to see a particular film (45:40).
Let's call this a mini episode folks. I give you my initial thoughts and review of Captain Marvel. I also give you me review of the new Ricky Gervais Netflix show After life

Daph J gets into Eric Anthony’s head to break down the latest MCU offering and also discusses the latest Critters trailer as well as the new Ricky Gervais Netflix series, “After Life”.
