Welcome back to "Help Me Abide," where this season we're featuring practical interviews to HELP US! Today, we have a special guest who is sure to bring a fresh perspective and a heart full of wisdom. Please join me in welcoming Cecily Hamilton. Cecily is here to share her insights on how the right music can resonate with our Spirit and draw us closer to our Saviour. I know music is such a hot topic and many “good” people draw their lines in very different places. With that in mind, I love what Shelly Hamilton recently wrote:“At this time, possibly more than any other time in our history, we need to teach our young people concerning biblical principles about worldliness and about living a pure life. Music comes from the Greek word "mousa," which means to muse or meditate. When you hear music, it stays in your memory. Since the music you listen to will be permanently stored in your mind, you must choose your music carefully.”Whether you're a musician, a music lover, or simply someone seeking encouragement, this episode promises to be a blessing. So, sit back, relax, and let's dive into a melodious journey full of practical wisdom with Cecily Hamilton!RESOURCES:Tonya Alverez's Episode - Podcast Episode Cecily's Music - YouTube PageAll Along- SongTEAM:Podcast Facilitator - Mrs Tammy Goddard Host - Jennifer BeilSocial Media Director - Lisa Grubb Music Coordinator - Lindsey Osgood Resource Promoter - Connie MarrujoFOLLOW US:InstagramFacebookWebpageYouTube

Psalm 23:4 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;" Deep trials are a reality of life because we live in a broken, sin-cursed world. Yet, our gentle Shepherd reminds us that in the midst of the darkest valleys, we need not fear! How can that be so? Because of the Shepherd's presence. We can weather the storms of life victorious because Christ walks with us. The journey we walk is worth the endurance required. The valleys provide blessings that nothing else can provide. They make us dependent upon Christ. They provide a way to higher ground. They provide wisdom we must glean to continue on the path. As we continue our jounrey through this rich Psalm, may your sould be encouraged as we learn more about the loving heart of our great Shepherd. What do you do when tragedy strikes- How do you respond when someone you love battles with a matter you have no idea how to solve- You consult with spiritual leaders, health care professionals, trusted consultants, and still there appears to be more questions than answers. And what happens when it seems the bottom falls out from your life. To whom do you turn- As the guest on this edition of Crosstalk knows, despite the trials, the challenges, and the heartaches, God is Always, Only Good.--Shelly Hamilton has been a vital part in the ministry of her husband-Ron Hamilton, whose alias is Patch the Pirate. In 1978, she chose, along with her husband, to -rejoice in the Lord- through the loss of his eye to cancer. The tragedy they walked through was transformed into a lifelong blessing of music and ministry to children, families, churches, and schools around the globe. --Shelly continues to trust in God following the tragic death of their son Jonathan and the many trials they subsequently faced as a family, now including Ron's early-onset dementia that has so changed their lives. For decades, Shelly has served as administrative producer of the Majesty Music products including the Patch the Pirate Adventure Series, two hymnals-Majesty and Rejoice Hymns, and numerous other works. Ron served as a local church music minister for over two decades and Shelly served beside him as church pianist, special music coordinator, and administrative music librarian. She continues in faithful local church music ministry as a congregational pianist and accompanist. She is author of the book, Always, Only Good- A Journey of Faith Through Mental Illness.
