After more than 25 years, Abraham and Sarah's son was born, but their journey of faith had just begun. The journey begins with a first step and only ends when we see Jesus. In the meantime, we are to live by faith, not by sight, one step at a time. Genesis 21-22 Speaker: Lucas DeVries
Church Life, “A Journey of Faith” Acts 27 The Voyage (vv. 1-12) 2 Cor. 11:25-28 three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. 26 I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not.[a] 27 I have worked hard and long, enduring many sleepless nights. I have been hungry and thirsty and have often gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm. 28 Then, besides all this, I have the daily burden of my concern for all the churches. The Storm (vv. 13-26) The Shipwreck (vv. 27-44) 1 Pet. 1:7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 3 Lies conquered by 3 facts to get you through your journey of faith: 1) Jesus doesn't care. Facts: vv. 24-25; Ma. 4:38 Psa. 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble). 2) The Strength of the Storm. Facts: Lu. 8:25b; Ma. 4:40 Psa. 77:16-19 16 When the Red Sea saw you, O God, its waters looked and trembled! The sea quaked to its very depths. 17 The clouds poured down rain; We are in Danger. Fact: 1 Cor. 15:24-26 the thunder rumbled in the sky. Your arrows of lightning flashed. 18 Your thunder roared from the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world! The earth trembled and shook. 19 Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there!.
This week, Kevin walks us through the beginnings of Abram's story in Genesis. Abram's story shows us much about the mercy and kindness of God. We see God bestow grace on Abram, calling him out from the land of Ur to follow the Lord in faith. God chooses Abram not because of Abram's own goodness, but because God Himself is good. How does our understanding of God's sovereignty over our salvation impact our faith? How might we grow in our trust of the Lord and His promises to us? What might our lives look like in return?

God's mercy is real—so is His judgment. In Sodom and Gomorrah, both are clear. Before destruction, God provides Lot's family a way of escape. Even when evil abounds, He sees His faithful few. This message shows how seriously God takes sin and grace. Genesis 18:16-33; 19 Speaker: Kyle Idleman

The Road to Emmaus: From Blindness to Burning Hearts | Apostle Cathy Coppola Are your eyes open to the Presence of Jesus? The Road to Emmaus (Luke 24). Just like the two disciples walking in grief and confusion, many believers today are walking right beside Jesus without recognizing Him. They have the "information" of the Gospel, but they lack the "revelation" of the Resurrected King. A "Burning Heart" is the key to spiritual sight. When Jesus opens the Scriptures, the power of God invades our darkness, and our spiritual blindness is shattered.

Along the journey, God promised Abram much. But with the path windy and timing unclear, Abram took matters into his own hands, only further complicating his life. This message explores the tension of trusting God even when His timing makes no sense. Genesis 15-17 Speaker: Kyle Idleman

Send us Fan MailRomans 6: Dead to Sin, Alive to God Co-hosts Ken Corkins and pastor Rocky Alison discuss Romans 6:1–14 (RSV), focusing on Paul's rejection of antinomianism (“Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means”) and the teaching that believers have died to sin. They explain “baptized into Christ's death” as the first-century conversion process where confession, repentance, baptism (likely immersion), and church acceptance occurred together, signifying regeneration (“born again”) and a new life. Dying with Christ means release from sin's debt and slavery, while resurrection life begins at conversion, not only after physical death, through the indwelling Holy Spirit. They address whether Christians can live sin-free, noting Paul's coming struggle in Romans 7, and introduce the Methodist doctrine of entire sanctification as moments of being “perfected in love” toward God and neighbor. They announce a one-week break due to Rocky's trip and Ken's move. 00:00 Welcome and Catch Up 00:31 Romans 6 Reading 02:22 Grace vs Sin Debate 04:06 Baptized Into Death 05:18 First Century Baptism 09:54 Regeneration Born Again 12:47 Freed From Sin 16:02 Resurrection Starts Now 18:04 Sin No Dominion 20:23 Entire Sanctification 24:58 Wrap Up and Next TimeNEW!: Rate us at Podchaser Find us at www.pondergmc.org. Needing their own space to grow, Abram let his nephew Lot choose his land first. Lot chose by sight, not faith—and it didn't go as expected. Abram, however, trusted the Lord to guide him, even when it seemed he was being led away from greener grass. Genesis 13-14 Speaker: Kyle Idleman

A journey of faith begins with the first step. God's invitation to Abram is the same to us: follow Him, obey Him, trust Him—one step at a time. This message shares guidance on how to walk by faith, not by sight, even when the destination is unclear. Genesis 12:1-9 Speaker: Carl Kuhl
We continue our teaching from last week, as we explore the life of Peter through the framework of the six Stages of Faith. What we find is a fascinating case study of the journey of shedding the false self and uncovering the true self.
But we must have trust that the journey of faith will bring us to the place our Lord desires for us
A Recorded Sermon from Bro Brett Cottrell -- April 12, 2026
The people set out to build a tower to the heavens. The design was sound, but their motive impure. In response, God confused their language and foiled their plans. Likewise, idolatry can slip into our plans and invite God's resistance into our lives. Genesis 11:1-11 Speaker: Bryson Koch
Within each of us, is what the ancients throughout history called the false self. It's the self rooted in who we think we should be, rather than who we actually are. The journey of faith calls us to shed off the false self and embrace the true self, the fullness of who God created each of us to be. But how do we get there? What does this look like? This week, we explore a helpful framework called the "Stages of Faith," to discover how we can step into the truest version of ourselves in God.
