Joshua BoydWe are on a journey of faith – both in our Christian walk and in our current series.  The start of our journey must be salvation.  We believed the word to be born again.  We had to pray and ask Jesus to come and save us.  We had to call on Him.  That was the first act of obedience by faith and it sealed the deal for our salvation. The rest of our journey works the same way: we hear, believe, then act.  Our first act of obedience is calling on the name of the Lord in response to hearing the good news of what happens when we do.  In this part two of our series, let's focus on what can hinder our journey: unbelief.  How can a born-again Christian experience unbelief?  Let's find out.Israel was “saved”.  Their coming out of Egypt is a type of us coming out of the world into God's Kingdom – salvation.  They saw with their own eyes the repeated miracles of God, yet they struggled over and over with believing God and obeying Him. It got to the point that their hearts became hard toward God.Our journey of faith begins with believing the good news of salvation.  Step after step in our journey is only progressed by believing the Word and acting on it by faith, keeping your conscience clear, and your obedience on the ready. That takes work.  It is labor, it is a fight—the good fight. And it is a constant improvement or growth of your faith.  We go from faith to faith, glory to glory.

Psalms of Freedom: A Journey of Faith, Hope, and Healing by Joseph H.K.A. Espinda, Jr.How can a broken soul find his way to a better life? He can't! But through Jesus Christ all things are possible and reachable. The reason for writing this book isn't to save anyone because I cannot save a single person – only Jesus can. The reason for the book is to help others by sharing experiences about abuse, bad habits, alternative lifestyles, addiction, and depression to show that all these things can be overcome and replaced with true joy and freedom. I have written many psalms (poems) during my journey, and they are sprinkled throughout the chapters. They are meant to stir the heart and spark the imagination into believing that there is a greater force beyond us that longs to embrace us with truth, peace, and love. Songs and poems can create powerful visuals and tap into the human soul to promote an awakening not previously recognized. That awakening is the power and light of Christ. The psalms speak of my heart and how the love of the Savior changes hearts and changes lives and changes perspectives. My greatest perspective change is my identity and how I am seen by the Lord – I am a child of God. As His child, I can step out in faith knowing that God is always near no matter where I have been or where I am going. The same is available to anyone – no matter what.About The Author    He was a broken soul searching for release from his personal demons which are like many who are trapped by the enticing of the world. After many years of struggle, depression, suicide attempts, and a longing to find God's love, he was able to overcome and realize true freedom through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. No longer addicted to an alternate lifestyle, he freely shares his experiences to show others who are on the same road that he was on that there is an offramp to freedom, joy, and fulfilment (A Journey of Faith, Hope, and Healing).https://www.amazon.com/Psalms-Freedom-Journey-Faith-Healing/dp/B0DK7M4661https://www.authorwebservices-gem4.net/https://www.instagram.com/joseph_hka_espinda/reel/DCDLe5xy-MF/https://mainspringbooks.com/http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/22725jej.mp3

Because I was not blaming everybody for what had I suffered… First I was a victim, then I was a survivor, and then, God gave me a purpose.” - Karola de la Cuesta “But what I am 100%, 1000% sure, is that God is supporting me every minute, every second of my life on this earth so that gives a lot, that lot of faith and freedom and security.” - Karola de la Cuesta “I absolutely believe that. I know God supports those who are doing his work and helping his children.” - Dana Robb “I love that you made the point, both of you, that when you put your trust and your faith and turn it over to God, you will see the results. He will make miracles in your life, and not only will you recognize them, but others will recognize them because you carry that light with you, and they'll want that, they'll want to know how to make their suffering and their trauma and their, whatever it is that they're going through, their experiences be lighter.” - Shannon Russell  Karola de la Cuesta is a survivor of human trafficking from one of the most severe and high-profile cases in the entertainment industry in Mexico. Thanks to love, faith in God, and the support of her family, she gradually recovered from these terrible events. Now an activist, she shares her testimony with international media, government, churches and organizations to prevent and eradicate human trafficking worldwide. She is currently the CEO of Kaleido Org. Her brave and tireless work has been crucial in creating policies and programs aimed at eradicating human trafficking and offering new hope to those who have suffered these terrible experiences. Karola is an example of resilience and dedication, transforming her pain into a mission to protect and empower the most vulnerable. She continues her work directly at the shelter for trafficking victims in Cancun, Mexico, where she has lived with her family for over 20 years.   Whenever presented with the opportunity for adventure, Dana Robb is all in. Currently, this includes riding the local mountain biking trails with her husband, canyoneering, and climbing the hills of southern Utah. She loves to learn and explore with her six kids. She is drawn to the opportunities being involved with Big Ocean Women provides. I'm Hunter, your host for today's journey through scripture. In this episode titled "January 8th, 2025," we're diving into powerful stories of faith and obedience from Genesis chapters 20 to 22 and Luke chapter 8. We'll explore the dramatic account of Abraham nearly sacrificing his son Isaac, only to be stopped by an angel and discovering God's provision through a ram. We'll also travel with Jesus as He teaches through parables, performs miracles like calming storms, casting out demons, and healing the sick. We'll reflect on the deep faith of Abraham and how it shapes our understanding of God's character as a provider, emphasizing the profound lesson that God brings life rather than demanding sacrifice. Along the way, we'll also engage in heartfelt prayer and discuss how these ancient stories apply to our lives today. Join us as we read, reflect, and are transformed by God's word. Stay tuned, and let's embark on this spiritual journey together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Unthinkable. Something unthinkable is being asked of Abraham. He's being asked to offer his one and only son that he loves as a sacrifice on this mountain. It's some kind of test of obedience, and it's unthinkable. But then again, maybe it wasn't altogether unthinkable. Maybe it was entirely conceivable. This culture and many cultures throughout that time and through all time actually have had the practice of offering the blood of a human to pacify or appease or to court the favor of an angry or capricious god. Abraham knows this. He knows that this is what the gods of the culture in his world so often require. But Abraham also knows this, that God, the God he serves, the God who called him to follow, the God who promised him a son, The god who made good on that promise even at the age of a 100 years old. The god who takes him by the hand and says, let's go outside and look at the stars. The blessing that's in store for you is beyond the number of stars in the sky. The god who meets him at his lowest, at his darkest, in that deepest point of of barrenness. This god, he had learned to walk with and trust, and was not like any other god in the world. Abraham knew that this is not a bloodthirsty god. This is a god of life. This god is not distant. No. He comes to Abraham. And this god is not capricious. And he's not angry and ready to pounce. This is what other people believe about God, but not Abraham. He believed that God is good. The God who's named on this mountain, Jehovah Jireh, he is the one who meets us in our need, in our shame, in our barren places. He's not like other gods. He does not require that you provide for or spill out or atone for or pacify with your own blood or the blood of those that you love. No. God has another way. And this god doesn't kill his son. He's not like the other gods. The son instead offers himself. And he's killed by humanity, not his father. And through this offering of his life, he overtakes the evil one. He wins the victory for you and me, and for the sins of the whole world. He defeats the powers of sin and darkness once and for all. Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, god was able to bring him back to life again, because this god is good. And Abraham believed it. Abraham was asked to do the unthinkable because he knew something that we all should know. The character of God. That God is good. That we can trust him with our lives, that he comes to us in our darkest and most bare places, and he raises us up there into new life. Right there, he meets us. He has achieved this for us on Mount Moriah on the cross. There, he laid down his life for us, and there, he wins for us victory. The victory that our souls were made for. And the prayer of my heart today is that my eyes will be opened up to see what Abraham sees. The character of our God. I will learn to walk with him the way Abraham has, by walking with the son, who has revealed to me the face of his father. That I will know the embrace of the father and the son and the holy spirit. This life that my soul longs for has been provided for me on the mountain of the lord. Jehovah Jireh. The prayer of my own heart is that I will know this well. That I'll know the freedom of it, the life of it, the joy of it. And that's a prayer that I have for my family too, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. Let's continue now in a time of prayer TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

Our focus today remains on experiencing the transformation that comes from the God who is love, fully revealed to us in the face of Jesus. Join us in this spiritual journey as we seek to understand the deeper meaning of these scriptures and the hope they bring. Let's begin with prayer and open our hearts to the message of God's word. TODAY'S DEVOTION: If this scroll isn't opened, then how are we gonna make sense of this story? The story of human history demands that this scroll be opened. This story of life demands that justice and righteousness prevail. Some sense must be drawn from all the senseless evil in this world. John falls into despair at the thought that somehow there'll be no judgment and no true reconciling of all things, a restoration of all things. When God is all and in all, He wonders whether perhaps it's all meaningless. He wonders whether there will be a response from God in the end. John cries out at the thought. He cries out for someone to make sense of the wreckage. And in this final moment, when it appears that all's lost, an elder insists that John stop weeping. He insists that there's one who is worthy and who is able. It is the one sitting on the throne. He can open the scroll because he has stepped in into the darkness, into the despair, into the loss, into death, into the grave. He is the lamb of God who has taken the sins of the world. He has offered himself on the cross. And in that offering, he defeats death by death in order that he might rescue those that have been taken captive by sin, death, and the grave. He's come to rescue lost Adam and draw us all into his saving life. In his body, he accomplished this victory. You might be like John today, weeping because you think there's no way to make sense out of what's happened in your life. Well, the elder and John and me, we all want to remind you to look. The lamb. He's worthy. Look at him. See what he has done. He has won a victory for you, for us, for the world. That will transform our weeping into absolute worship and adoration. Let's look and ask the spirit to help us to see the lamb who opens the scroll. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, and my daughters, and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity.
