Tragedy is unfolding all around us as we witness a society and world that is crumbling. Just look at the extremist fervor from those insisting that we as a society continue to allow the targeted killing of the unborn.--What must be remembered amidst all of this is that we're only on this earth for a short time. The Bible tells us that our life is like a vapor. We're here for a time and then it vanishes away. What happens next-- If you've never stopped to think seriously about your eternal destiny, there's never a better time to begin than right now.--Appearing on Crosstalk to help listeners do just that was Dr. Richard Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt is the pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church and also heads Prophecy Focus Ministries. He is speaker on the WVCY-TV program Prophecy Focus. Prior to his current pastoral ministry, he spent 32 years in law enforcement including becoming acting sheriff of Milwaukee County in 2017 until his retirement in 2019. He's the author of some books on Bible prophecy and a book we're discussing today, Are You Going to a Better Place----Why do people want to ignore the question concerning their eternal destiny-- Dr. Schmidt admitted that in his case, for the first 16 years of his life, he wasn't sure where he was going. He was taking the advice of what others told him. Relatives, family and even his pastor didn't seem to know the answer to the question of how you can know for sure you're going to a better place when you die.--The bottom line is that apart from Scripture, we have no assurance, outside of hearsay and arguments, that we're going to heaven one day.--Questions from listeners cap off this hope-filled broadcast.

Dr. Ingrid Skop is vice president and director of medical affairs for the Charlotte Lozier Institute. She is a board-certified OB-GYN who has delivered more than 5,000 babies over a long career in Texas.--Jim and Dr. Skop opened this edition of Crosstalk with discussion concerning this controversial pill, also known as Mifepristone. There are conflicting rulings in the lower courts, with the Supreme Court allowing the use of this pill to go on as this case works its way up through the court system.--Mifepristone blocks progesterone receptors and cuts off support of the embryo or fetus and kills it. --As this Crosstalk moved along, Jim also looked at some weekly news items. Here's a sample of what he presented- ----A federal judge rebuked the Department of Homeland Security for releasing 2,567 migrants on -parole- even after he had issued a temporary restraining order, and demanded that the department track what happens to those migrants as they disperse throughout the country.----Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has sent a bus of migrants to the sanctuary city of Denver, Colorado.----Congressman Michael Waltz of Florida has said that the Taliban were giving terrorists -visas and passports- after a suspect on the terrorist watch list was detained at the border.----At least 6 on the terror watch list were caught crossing what was formerly known as the southern border.----At least six more schools in New York are about to begin temporarily housing incoming migrants in their gyms.----Surveillance video from a property in Eagle Pass, Texas, shows a soldier opening a gate to allow a large group of aliens to cross the border into the country illegally.

As we look at poverty around the world, some individuals are forced into some very desperate situations just to provide the basic needs of life. Sometimes prostitution appears to be the only way out. With that comes exploitation and sex-trafficking.--Fortunately, someone's engaged in a ministry designed to break that cycle. That person is Alex Kuhlow. Alex is the founder - executive director for Threads of Hope, Inc.--While growing up, becoming a missionary was simply not a part of Alex's vocational plans. As the son of a plumber, Alex grew up in the affluence of Neenah, Wisconsin, where he eventually became a machinist. Working long hours, he reasoned that he wanted to retire and live a comfortable life.--One day as he was reading about the rich young ruler, the idea of selling everything, giving it to the poor and following Christ hit Alex hard. He wondered what his response would be if Christ was giving these instructions to him personally.--As Alex noted, he wasn't a pilot, a church planter or a Bible translator. He was just a blue-collar machinist so he didn't think he had anything to offer the mission field.--But God had other plans...--One day a missionary came to to his church who happened to be a journeyman plumber. He was sharing with youth that whatever skills and abilities you have, the Lord can use them on the mission field. After the presentation, Alex asked the missionary what the greatest obstacle was in getting to the mission field. The missionary told him it was financial debt. That was the very week Alex and his wife had become financially debt free. There went that excuse-

In previous programs we have warned about Social-Emotional Learning that is invading many public schools across the nation. But did you know SEL is also invading Christian schools----Appearing with Jim to tell us more, Crosstalk welcomed Julie Quist. Julie is Board Chair of Child Protection League which is committed to promoting the welfare of children and protecting them from exploitation, indoctrination and violence. They educate citizens on issues that protect or threaten the safety of children.--Julie defined SEL as, -...a radical education program that indoctrinates children with the basic principles of cultural Marxism.- She warned that this is not the way it presents itself to the public, but this is what it is.--For Julie, SEL is vary vague as it talks about children controlling their emotions. It also communicates that it gives them life skills because those words are very appealing to parents and the public. --Since SEL is based on emotion and not at all about academics, cognitive learning has no part in it. This has replaced academics as the core curriculum. Isn't school and education supposed to be about academics-- Yes, and that's why Julie calls SEL -fake education.- As she pointed out, we send our children to school to learn basic knowledge which is the building block for being able to understand the world, be successful and provide leadership.--In the end, SEL is all about indoctrinating children into a worldview that's based upon Critical Race Theory. In other words, it's based on equity and is, as they call it, a lever for social justice.

What is the most recognizable hymn of all time-- Many of you would likely say, Amazing Grace. We often hear this song at a vigil or remembrance service or perhaps played on bagpipes. Regardless of where or how this hymn is performed, it's stood the test of time for 250 years.--Do you know the story behind the song and the man who wrote this testimonial of the faith----Bruce Hindmarsh is the James M. Houston Professor of Spiritual Theology and Professor of the History of Christianity at Regent College in Vancouver. He wrote his doctoral thesis at Oxford on John Newton and it was published as John Newton and the English Evangelical Tradition. He also edited and wrote an introduction for an edition of Newton's autobiography and his letters on growth in grace, The Life and Spirituality of John Newton. He is a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a past president of the American Society of Church History.--Craig Borlase is a New York Times, Sunday Times, and international bestselling ghostwriter of dramatic, engaging memoirs. Over the last two decades, he has written more than fifty-five books, working with a diverse range of authors for a global audience.--This Crosstalk began as Bruce and Craig described what drew their interest to research and tell the story of John Newton, the writer of Amazing Grace. From there, Bruce described how the book actually begins with a death, the death of John's mother, who had intended for young John to enter the ministry. He also didn't fit very well into the family when his father remarried. So early on, John's life was marked by trauma.

This allows New York to mobilize some 500 members of the National Guard that are currently providing logistical and operational support at New York City's Port Authority bus terminal and shelter sites, bringing the total mobilization to about 1,500 service members.----As Illinois continues to welcome migrants from the Mexican border, officials are now scrambling to find the resources to care for them. ----The Department of Homeland Security released a statement at midnight Thursday as Title 42 was expiring saying the border is not open.----A federal judge in Florida temporarily blocked the Biden administration from releasing illegal immigrants into the U.S. without court dates as the nation braces for a surge of illegal border crossings.

Karen Mueller is founder and General Counsel for Amos Center for Justice and Liberty.--Last December on Crosstalk, Karen introduced listeners to a pending Wisconsin Supreme Court case titled- Allen Gahl v. Aurora Health Care, Inc. At stake is the issue of patient rights and what are those rights when a hospital refuses to provide a standard of care that the patient or the patient's representative requests.--Allen Gahl is the nephew of, and medical power of attorney for, John Zingsheim. John became the focus of this case after he entered the hospital in September of 2021. Aurora Summit Hospital in Waukesha County diagnosed him with COVID-19 and placed him on a ventilator. He wanted to be given Ivermectin, so Allen began requesting that from the hospital, however, they refused.--Karen then returned to Crosstalk in January of this year after submitting oral arguments to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She informed listeners that in a two day conference hearing with lawyers, a judge decided that John had a right to get Ivermectin as long as it was an outside doctor that the family found that could be credentialed, enter the hospital, and administer the Ivermectin. Before the order could be fulfilled, the appellate court intervened and stayed the order on the granting of the Ivermectin.--Karen's arguments were not about what treatment is best for COVID-19. Instead, she argued that this case is about the health care power of attorney and the rights that the legislature had given to Wisconsin citizens.--Last week the Wisconsin Supreme Court rendered its opinion 6-1 against the case presented by Karen.

Artificial Intelligence -AI- is becoming an increasingly popular news topic, not surprisingly because of the possible uses. It can be used to monitor the movement of populations and therefore track your every step. According to Bill Gates it can even be used to replace teachers.--Will this technology ultimately be used for good or evil-- It depends on who you look to. The White House says they've rolled out a plan to promote -ethical- AI with Vice President Kamala Harris in charge. --Returning to Crosstalk to tackle this issue was Alex Newman. Alex is an award-winning international freelance journalist, author, researcher, educator and consultant. He is senior editor for The New American. He is co-author of Crimes of the Educators and author of Deep State- The Invisible Government Behind the Scenes. He is founder of Liberty Sentinel.--According to Alex, AI is advancing so rapidly that even the people creating it don't understand it and can't keep up with it. It's been predicted that once this technology gets loose, it can improve itself at such a speed it could leave its creators -in the dust.- --Alex referenced a new Reuters article indicating that Alphabet, Inc. -the company that owns Google- is training their artificial intelligence to have a set of moral values. It draws from several sources including the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and Apple, Inc. data privacy rules. --Jim referenced a parental alert from the Child Protection League in Minnesota. They've indicated that the social media app popular among teens known as Snapchat assigns an AI -chatbot- to each customer.

As the Biden administration was put in place in 2021, Biden appointed Vice President Harris to be the -point person- regarding the border. The administration assured Americans that she would get to the root causes of illegal immigration and that would solve our border problems.--In 2022 we saw Harris traveling to Honduras. She came back announcing a deal that involved some 500 million in private investment to Central America with large U.S. corporations engaging in infrastructure projects. Then earlier this year she spoke of progress being made but unfortunately, the problem has grown exponentially worse. In addition, the flood gates have yet to fully open as Title 42 is set to end this Thursday, May 11th.--Returning to Crosstalk to present an update on the border crisis was Mark Krikorian. Mark is a nationally recognized expert on immigration issues serving as the executive director of Center for Immigration Studies. They are an independent, non-partisan research organization examining and critiquing the impact of immigration on the United States. He's testified numerous times before Congress and has published articles in many outlets.--According to Mark, while the Trump administration wasn't perfect when it came to the border issue, they had stabilized it, fixing the immediate problem that was facing them. The Biden administration, on the other hand, starting the day he was sworn in, reversed nearly every Trump policy. They did this, in spite of the fact that officials in the Trump administration warned them how disastrous the result would be and everything they were warned about has come true.

Since February 2020, she's been part of the team of frontline physicians treating COVID early at home. With Dr. Peter McCullough, she is a co-author-editor of the Guide to COVID Early Treatment- Options to Stay Out of Hospital and Save Your Life.--Jim began by noting a news story indicating the FDA, -...has rejected a -petition for administrative action- from prominent medical researchers to order vaccine manufacturers to set the public record straight through revised labeling requirements on trial design, results and adverse events.- However, it appears the FDA isn't willing to do this.--Dr. Vliet responded that they're not willing to do this because they're, -in the pocket of big pharma and focused on these experimental mRNA shots.- She informed listeners that one year ago, the FDA announced they would not be requiring manufacturers to disclose modifications of the transfer from traditional vaccines to the mRNA technology, to disclose ingredients or do new clinical trials. She feels the FDA simply backed away from their regulatory duties under the law and its charter, therefore the public will not know what's in these new vaccines.--Another interesting bit of information dealt with programs she was involved with in late 2020 and early 2021 that indicated the COVID shots could turn off a specific tumor-suppressor gene, one of the major protective mechanisms given to us by God. This would seem to be proven by the fact that we've seen a greater than 17,000- increase in cancer since the vaccines were rolled out.

Dr. Bachmann is dean of the Robertson School of Government at Regent University. She previously served in the Minnesota State Senate then ran for Congress in 2006 and won as the first Republican woman from Minnesota elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. She was reelected and served for multiple years.--Later this month -May 21st through the 30th- the 76th World Health Assembly will be held in Geneva, Switzerland. They're seeking to adopt amendments to the international health regulations and would place the WHO in control over the world. Right now it appears that the Biden administration is -all in- on this matter. If the U.S. becomes a party to this, and another so-called -health emergency- is declared, you can say -good-bye- to your personal freedom regarding medical choices and in general, the sovereignty of America.- -Dr. Bachmann described how during the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous freedoms were lost. This happened because President Biden gave himself emergency powers. This allowed him to simply issue directives such as landlords not being able to evict tenants who refused to pay rent. There was the paying of people to stay home from work which has led to an unprecedented level of inflation, the mask mandates, the shutting down of churches and more. --She believes the Biden administration is hoping to give that high level of emergency power over to the WHO.

Scripture warns us about Satan in areas such as 1 Peter 5-8 and Ephesians 6-11. He's very much alive, active and full of deceit as the Bible calls him the father of lies.--On a previous Crosstalk we warned listeners about an event known as SatanCon 2023. This event was held April 28th-30th in Boston by the Satanic Temple. They billed it as a sold-out, 3 day event, touting it as the largest satanic gathering in history. --Fox News reported that as the convention got underway, some cheered as two leaders opened the event with a formal ceremony renouncing so-called symbols of oppression. This involved ripping a Bible and the Thin Blue Line flag which represents police.--To sort through this issue, Crosstalk welcomed back Dr. David Brown. Dr. Brown is pastor of First Baptist Church in Oak Creek and has a Masters in Theology and PhD in history, specializing in the history of the English Bible. In addition to his study of the English Bible, he is also president of Logos Communication Consortium which operates LogosResourcePages.org. He is author of the book, The Dark Side of Halloween and also a research paper, Unmasking the Truth About Witches. He's been a resource used by law enforcement on issues pertaining to Satanism and the occult.--SatanCon was the Satanic Temple's annual meeting but they're located in Salem, Massachusetts. Oddly enough, they claim to not believe in or worship a personal Satan, yet they received a religious exemption from the government. In spite of that contradiction, since they're clearly embracing the unfruitful works of darkness -see Ephesians 5-11- they show that they're following the -wisdom- of their father, the one they claim to reject.
