Bunhill Fields Burial Grounds

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 15, 2026 2:32

This video uses the historic London cemetery of Bunhill Fields as a living tapestry to illustrate the enduring impact of faithful, often uncelebrated, Christian ministry across generations. Through the graves of influential figures like John Bunyan, John Owen, William Blake, and the Wesleys, the message underscores how God often raises up humble, dedicated servants—particularly young and unheralded ones—to carry forward His work with lasting influence. The narrative highlights a recurring pattern: the most transformative eras in church history have often followed the model of investing in young, passionate leaders rather than seeking fame or celebrity. The contrast between the church's golden age under C.H. Spurgeon—a young pastor chosen for faithfulness rather than reputation—and its subsequent decline after seeking star power serves as a sobering reminder of the value of spiritual maturity over cultural prominence. Ultimately, the sermon calls the church to prioritize faithful stewardship, continuity, and the quiet power of godly character over the allure of celebrity, drawing strength from the legacy of those who lived and died in faithful service.

Standing for Life!

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 11, 2026 53:28

Life is under attack on many fronts. It's being attacked in the womb, it's being attacked in the sunset years and even those who don't measure up to other people's standards due to some form of disability are also coming under attack. God is the Author of life. We are told in Psalm 139 that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made." In Jeremiah 1 we see it is God that has formed us. In Proverbs 6 we're told that the LORD hates the "hands that shed innocent blood" yet we are living in a society that has rejected God. The number of babies being killed by abortion including use of the abortion pill is escalating. Children in the womb are being killed due to a disability. At the other end of the spectrum, just recently a man in Canada screamed for help during a botched euthanasia. We live in a very barbaric society with the nod and approval of many in the political arena, the judicial realm, the entertainment industry and increasingly in the religious realm as well. It is an imperative that we must stand for life! Joining us to discuss these issues is Victor Nieves. Victor is President of the Life Issues Institute which was founded in 1991 to serve the educational needs of the pro-life movement. Victor has had a pro-life passion from a young age while working in state House and Senate campaigns in Missouri. The Spiritual War Against Israel

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 10, 2026 53:28

Regardless of the era, Israel has been hated and warred against. History shows this during the biblical era of the Philistines, the Canaanites, the Midianites and the Amalekites. In modern times, anger against the Jewish nation has been fueled by the rampant spreading of antisemitism through entities such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Turkey, or Islam. Did you know more resolutions against Israel have come before the United Nations than any other nation in the world? Did you know that the vast majority of the world's nations are regularly voting against Israel? This is a nation only the size of New Jersey, yet they've been despised and warred against throughout all of human history. Under such international pressure, it's truly a miracle that Israel has survived. Why all the hatred? Why have all these forces been unable to destroy Israel? The answer lies in the fact that this is not a battle of flesh and blood, but this is a spiritual battle that has ensued from the beginning ...

Many want to put COVID-19 in the dust bin of history. However, it's critical for as much information to come out as possible because as we saw during the COVID pandemic, our government became very authoritarian in forcing shots on so many individuals. This experience has brought many to a new level of distrust and skepticism as it relates to vaccinations and the increased use of mRNA technology. Recently a former senior advisor to Dr. Anthony Fauci was indicted regarding his alleged efforts to hide records about the origins of COVID-19. Also, James Erdman III, a whistleblower from the CIA, appeared before the Senate Homeland Security Committee with testimony of an alleged coverup by Dr. Fauci and the Intelligence Community. Meanwhile, there have been concerns expressed over new pandemics (Ebola and Hantavirus) and the development of new mRNA shots. When it comes to vaccinations, there is a growing grassroots effort calling for informed consent. Sadly, Florida legislators just killed such a measure in special session. Also, some states are actively taking action to remove any exemptions from vaccinations. Additionally, Barbara noted the significant administrative changes at the FDA and the CDC, the prevalence of spike proteins related to vaccinated mothers and concerns regarding blood transfusions.

As Scripture says, God's Word will not return unto Him void, but it will accomplish that which He pleases. It's the Word of God that is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:17 that "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." It's the Word of God that changes the heart of man. Michele Bachmann, Dean of the Regent School of Government said, "There would be no America without the Bible. It is the foundation...and it's important that we reacquaint ourselves with its principles." It's disturbing that in the American Bible Society's 2026 State of the Bible report, only 17% of Americans told pollsters that they have read the entire Bible, another 17% said they have read "most", 14% indicate they've read "about half" 35% said "a little" 10% said "none" and 7% said they were not sure if they've ever read the Bible. As foundational as the Bible is, Jim asked William to come and address the Bible's influence on America. So don't miss this look back at the impact of the Bible at the time of the Pilgrims, at the time leading up to the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War, and also its influence since we became a nation. Dr. Erwin Lutzer is Pastor Emeritus of The Moody Church where he served as the senior pastor for 36 years. He's the speaker on the Running to Win radio broadcast as well as an award-winning author. Some of his titles include: We Will Not Be Silenced, The Eclipse of God, When a Nation Forgets God, One Minute After You Die, and many others. Is there a habit that has been your Achilles heel; something that no matter what you do, you can't seem to shake it? You've prayed about it, you've asked forgiveness for it over and over again. You've read passages in the Bible concerning it, but it continues to plague you. This is something that affects many individuals. Dr. Lutzer wrote a book which was originally published many years ago, but it's become not only a staple for the library, but a book that is helping a whole new generation of believers. It's a book to help you overcome the struggles in your life through a lasting transformation of attitude and heart. It's titled: How To Say No to a Stubborn Habit (Even When You Feel Like Saying Yes). What is so alluring about temptation that makes it easy to fall for it? What does believing that God is good have to do with our bad habits? What does it mean to trust in God's grace? Should our past be our governing motivation or should we put our past behind us? These are just some of the questions answered on this broadcast as Dr. Lutzer leads listeners through Scripture to bring the answers all of us need to defeat stubborn habits!

Pastor Ken Keltner is Senior pastor of Brookside Baptist Church, Brookfield, WI. He's the speaker on The Word for Life radio broadcast which airs on WVCY. In James 1:2-3 it says, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." The word "temptations" in this context is referring to testing or trials. It's a word we really don't like to hear. This passage indicates that the trying of our faith builds patience or endurance in us. Many times we read this quickly and we may talk about its meaning in application to others, but what about when the trials and tests hit you? What is your response when these trials all of a sudden seem to come from nowhere? You wonder, why is this happening to me? What have I done wrong? Do we really count it all joy when we go through such times? How do we respond? It's often said such trials can turn us bitter or better. So listen to this Crosstalk and find out how Pastor Keltner responded as he walks listeners through what occurred during events leading up to and beyond March 16, 2026. That's the day that Pastor Ken's wife Kathy went home to be with the Lord after battling Glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer. They were married over 42 years and amidst the extreme heartache, the Lord has shown himself faithful and is very much at work. The Growing Concern Over Data Centers

From coast to coast there is a massive expansion underway of AI (artificial intelligence) data centers being constructed. This expansion is happening simultaneously across the states. Farmland once used to grow our nation's food supply is being destroyed. Green spaces that caused individuals to move to a particular location are now being overrun with dirt, concrete and non-stop construction. The demand for electricity and resources is staggering. What's going on here? Joining us to answer that question was Tom DeWeese. Tom is president of American Policy Center. He's one of the nation's leading advocates for individual liberty, free enterprise, private property rights, personal privacy, back-to-basics education, American sovereignty and independence, and protecting our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights. According to Tom, the purpose of data centers is to collect and store every single piece of information that makes up human society including your biometrics, your daily actions, even your bank account transactions. Is there any "grassroots" opposition to this? Hear the details, discover what listeners had to say, and find out what you can do on this edition of Crosstalk.

Biblical Authority vs. “Yea, Hath God Said?"

From the very beginning, the authority of God's Word has been under attack. God gave clear instruction in the Garden of Eden as recorded in Genesis 2:16 and following: "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.'" In Genesis chapter 3, the serpent spoke to Eve, "Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" The serpent put this question in her mind to cause doubt and later countered what God said, "Ye shall not surely die." Tragically, Eve took of the fruit and ate it. She gave it to Adam, who also ate it, and thus sin entered into the world. We often look back and ask how could they do such a thing. Yet, in our secular world and in pulpits across the country, the same challenge is happening day after day, questioning the authority of the Scriptures. Returning to Crosstalk to answer this concern was Ken Ham. Ken is founder of Answers in Genesis and its life-changing attractions: the highly acclaimed Creation Museum and the world-renowned Ark Encounter. Ken is a biblical apologist and author of multiple books, including Divine Dilemma (understanding death, disease, and suffering); Divided Nation (about today's culture wars); Creation to Babel (a devotional commentary); The Lie: Unraveling the Myth: Evolution/Millions of Years and Miraculous: The Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis Story.

As this is the National Day of Prayer, we remind you, as we so often do, to pray for our country, our nation's leaders, our President, his cabinet, your members of the House of Representatives; your senators; your governor; your state leaders and representatives. We must also remember to pray for city and town mayors and local officials along with our courts at all levels. We need to pray that each of them will realize they have an accountability before God, and that they would make decisions in the best interest of the nation, rather than their own personal interest or what will advance them or their party in the next election. Pray that they would recognize what Scripture says: "It is righteousness that exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." We must humble ourselves as a nation before God, confessing our sin, and look to Him for guidance. While we are thankful for a day which our nation recognizes by proclamation, at Crosstalk these are things we regularly urge all listeners to do. This coming Sunday is Mother's Day. It's a time our nation sets aside to honor mothers. Moms have a great deal of influence upon their children, a fact that we see all throughout Scripture. That's why we offer this broadcast each year--a time to give listeners an opportunity to honor their mother.

Unmasked: Biden Admin Turns Blind Eye to COVID VAX Safety Signals

In Jim's hands today is a Press Release from the office of Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. Senator Johnson is chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Last Wednesday he held a hearing titled, "Unmasked: How Biden Health Officials Purposely Turned a Blind Eye Toward COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Signals." It's a hearing that drew little media attention. Along with this hearing, Senator Johnson released a report of approximately 600 pages of records that detailed how beginning in early 2021, FDA officials became aware of a new "state of the art" data mining method that could better detect statistically significant safety signals for adverse events associated with the COVID-19 shots. Rather than adopt this method, Biden health officials continued to employ their older data mining method with known limitations that prevented the FDA from detecting adverse events. Senator Johnson indicates that Peter Marks, head of the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, was treating vaccine injuries that were life-threatening and people were pleading with the FDA and NIH to make this pubic, but never did so. Senator Johnson indicated, "We've got a real big problem in this country about vaccine-injury deniers." Again, these vaccine injuries are real, but it's being denied. While this hearing was far longer than a Crosstalk program, listen to Senator Johnson's opening remarks, Ranking Member Senator Blumenthal, the lead Democrat of the Committee, and the witnesses.

The Islamizing of America

Islam is proliferating across the United States. This is due in part to immigration from other nations. According to ChatGPT, it's believed that between 55-60% of Muslims in the United States are immigrants. Around 1970, the number of mosques in the U.S. was estimated to be around 100. By the year 2000 that jumped to around 1200 mosques and by 2020 that jumped to around 2,800 mosques, a 25-fold increase since 1970. A broader inclusive estimate for 2026 put that number between 3,700 and 4,000 mosques and Islamic centers and growing. Could this be a sign of the Islamizing of America? To answer that question, Crosstalk welcomed back Usama Dakdok. Usama is founder of the Straight Way of Grace Ministry. He is the speaker on Revealing the Truth About Islam and founder of The Straight Way of Grace Ministry. Usama speaks fluent Arabic and has translated the Qur'an into English. He is the author of Exposing the Truth about the Qur'an, Exposing the Truth About Jihad and the booklets, The Violent Truth about Islam and The Straight Way to Eternal Life. There have been massive public relations campaigns put on using libraries across the country in special outreaches known as "Know Your Muslim Neighbor." Following up with that effort, the Council on American/Islamic Relations (CAIR) joined forces with the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations to promote what they call "National Open Mosque Day," which began this past Sunday. It's an attempt to open doors to the wider community as they invite people of all faiths and backgrounds to explore and learn about Islam. Listen as Usama communicates a timely warning about Islam!

She has over 30 years' experience in public policy, academic research and clinical medicine with an emphasis on the cause of pediatric disease There are numerous debates as to how far we can delve into scientific research and still hold to a system of ethics. Some say it really doesn't matter as long as it's for the common good. Take, for instance, embryonic stem cell research. Some will claim that since aborted baby tissue would otherwise go in the trash, it's fine to use it for experimentation. Others contend the use of fetal body parts from aborted babies in vaccines and treatment are also okay if others are being helped by it. Did you know there are labs that create human embryos solely for experiments? These embryos are usually destroyed once research is complete. Also, did you know aborted fetal tissue is still used in some medical studies? This research often happens without public awareness or consent. And what about the use of AI? AI tools are shaping choices in healthcare, pregnancy and research. If left unchecked, this can target those who are disabled, the unborn or even older adults. We are headed down a pathway of very concerning technologies, genetic screening, gene editing, cloning, artificial wombs, 3-parent embryos and even human-animal chimeras. Where do we draw the line? When is it time to put the brakes on scientific research to protect ethics and prevent us from going down the pathway of eugenics?
