This week's podcast is a little different. I was reviewing some of the older show and found episode 57 with Suzy Beaumont on the subject of fear and change. I think it is topical as I have been feeling my fear this week. Nothing dramatic but I believe it is related to change and possible money stories An often forgotten fact: Unless I am staring at a tiger or a man with a gun, I have little reason to be fearful of anything. Most of my fear is thinking about the past or the future. The show is good enough for a second airing as it is relevant to our current situation. The show touches on money stories we all have them. So to give you some background, Suzy Beaumont has been a regular guest on the programme. She is a former BBC producer, with 18 years of experience, working in both radio and television. While outwardly successful, she not dealing with life and personal issues and generally unhappy. It was the meeting of a life coach and the discovering personal development that changed everything. In 2017 she left the BBC to start Change Your World and up until COVID has been running conferences and events. She runs the Facebook group, Change Your Worlds Every Day, where members meet 3 weeks out of 4 for morning for coaching sessions. This show was recorded in April last year on the change your world Facebook page just before the spring conference.

On today's show, I have Sashka Hanna-Rappl, and she is a leading international Brand and business strategist for creative visionaries. She creates brands for some of the people with big imaginations. But first, as always, this is my opportunity to do a little segway and go on a journey of my own. So as you might know, I am part of the team for the Change Your World Everyday Coaching Project. This week we have been looking at happiness. It is quite amazing how few people in the world can say they are truly happy. The fact remains at this time in the world; fewer people are dying through conflict violence than any other time. The majority of humanity is wealthier than it has been at any other time. Yet, happiness seems to be in short supply. We are more connected through social media than at any other time, and that is just adding to the problem. Part of the problem it seems as we've forgotten how to be happy, and much of that seems to caused by people looking outside of themselves for solutions to that problem. Now, as a marketing guy, I am well aware. Because that is what we do, we find problems we find people's insecurities and weaknesses we play upon them. Then, we get them to buy things based on those problems to make them feel better. That is the dark side of my profession. That's what's fascinating for me about life passion and business and change your world, and a myriad or other change organisations. Because when we get people into a place of being ok with themselves, they no longer look outside for happiness, they look within. It is at that point that needs and desires and wants fall away. What is your view experience of happiness? How happy are? When where you truly happy? If you have any views on happiness reach out and lets chat/ One more point before we get back to the show, the founder of change your world Suzy Beaumont. Had a birthday this week and as a birthday gift to her audience, she's given seven days free access to the Changer world every day project. She has permitted me to share that access with you guys. So if you would like to try a daily coaching practice for seven days. Check out this podcast at the website life passion and business.com for the link. Or drop me a message and I will fix you up. This offer will expire on the 31st May so do be quick. Details are here    Back to the programme and Sashka Hanna-Rappl As I said to you she's a leading brand strategist. Did I mention is a speaker and entertainer with a singing dancing and acting career. I suspect she uses all of those things in her approach to branding. She calls here process, using the soul to brand your business. Her methods are creative, wise, humorous and imaginative. She helps lifestyle entrepreneurs create and market their unforgettable brand. A brand that is tailored to the entrepreneur, rather than the profession. And to be understood in a crowded market. This lady is a powerhouse, and you will hear it on the programme there is no holding her back, and it is no surprise that she's been featured in Forbes BuzzFeed and numerous online publications. She was born and raised in South Africa resided in London for a while and currently lives in the Tyrolean Alps with her three children. My guest on the programme is Jock Gibson; he is a farmer and butcher from Dallas, Forres in the North East of Scotland. My home town. The launch of Change Your World Every Day If you have listened to podcast 57 on fear and change, You will have heard my conversation with Suzy Beaumont. It was an unscheduled conversation that we decide to do as a Facebook live and it became a podcast. We had been working together on the Change your world conference and the programme, and the conversation was rolling around that event. The conference was a major success and brought together a room of amazing people all looking to make changes in their life. Including the wife as it happens. I said at the time that there would be more, well that opportunity is now open to those beyond Scotland. Change Your World online launches in just a few days. Suzy in pulling in some amazing people and the process features daily actions that will take you forward. even if you are like me and struggle with the concept if goals as yet. https://www.changeyourworld.me/CYW-Everyday Check out change your worlds.me links on the life passion and business website. Now lets get back to farming. and Jock Gibson Unusually this conversation is not the result of a social media connection. When I arrived here 15 years ago, I became a consultant and did a stint with the local Enterprise company. Jock Gibson was one of my clients. I moved on from that contract, Jock and I kept in touch and have remained social media friends. Together with his wife, Fiona, they farm beef cattle native to the Scottish Highlands and sell their produce through the family butchers shop Macbeth’s. They supply hotels and restaurants as well as private individuals up and down the country with an online shop. His business is vertical in that they see the process from start to finish. Jock has become a man of the land. However originally he studied engineering at Manchester University and after completing a couple of years sailing, started work for a building services consultancy in Peterborough. That was not the path, so after another university degree and another engineering job in Glasgow, it was clear that was not the path. So Jock returned to Dallas to take on the family butchery business. That is a story in itself.. My interest in getting Jock on the show has been his dedication and passion for his industry. He says that farming is the most exciting industry to be in at the moment as there is so much opportunity. That opportunity came in 2015, after the death of his parents. He and Fiona took on the family farm and now live there with their three children. Jock is active in the industry as a board member for Quality Meat Scotland, a director for the Farmer Jones Academy and on the steering committee for the Highlands & Islands Food and Drink Awards. Our conversation is very different from previous guests. It is a hands-on hard job with some harsh realities. Agriculture like every business is facing enormous change. However, they are facing it at every level, with environmental concerns, regulations and political upheaval. I also want Jock on the show as many of the previous guests have been virtual business or service providers. There is a story here of his family and his success and the challenges that he faces in a tight market. While we managed to steer clear of Brexit sort of, it's almost impossible because it is such a significant issue in his life. It will affect pretty much everything that he does. I hope you enjoy the conversation with Jock Gibson.

This week’s podcast started as a podcast short. It was going to be an exploration of the mindset around fear. As you may know, I have been working Laura Powner on the issues of money and mindset. During this work, I have discovered a lot about my history and how my life has been shaped by fear. I was sharing those thoughts with Suzy Beaumont ( Change Your World), and it became apparent that we should record the conversation. So we decided to explore the discussion as a Facebook live. You can find that on the life passion and business page. Suzy Beaumont and Change Your World Suzy is an old friend of the show, having been a guest last year and on the 50th programme. I have been working with her for a few months providing marketing support for the next event. The Change Your World conference is on April 7th. The conference now in its third year brings together some of the most exceptional speakers in areas of mindset and health and fitness. This year will feature subjects like sleep, plant-based diets and goal setting. Something there for everyone so if you are in the Scotland or Inverness area is well worth getting a ticket. My inspiration for getting involved in working on this project with Suzy is the synergy between Changes Your World and Life Passion and Business. This podcast was created for me to explore and understand my own life, and Suzy started Change Your World events because she wanted to share her journey. We are both looking to support people in the pursuit of something better. On the show, I share my realisations about money but particularly my relationship with fear and money. We explore what it means and how it has affected our lives. Our conversation lead on to what people will discover at the event on the 7th of April. While that may not be of interested directly, the content is valuable, and shortly, there will be an opportunity to get involved with Cange your world as it goes global. Early heads up. Change your world will be starting an online programme within the next few weeks. I will keep you posted. LP&B 50 New Year 2019, What about Goal Setting and Big Vision

Goal Setting and Big Vision A happy new year and Welcome to 2019 and the 50th podcast at Life Passion and Business I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year's celebrations. I am just back from a city break in London with the family. Staying in a flat overlooking the River Thames at Greenwich. I got to be a tourist in my home city, and we saw in the new year on the key side watching fireworks on the London skyline. I had planned to get this podcast out nice and early, between family poor connection and a noisy environment it did not happen.   How do you feel about the New Year? It has a special significance for the wife and I as it was our first date, and that was 25 years ago. Hence the city break. However, the New Year did not always represent good times for me. I often struggled with it, certainly as a young man. There was always so much pressure to have a good time, you should enjoy yourself and celebrate! I can remember a New Years at a club in London with friends and feeling alone. It may be party time but it is also a time of reflections. This can be good or bad depending on how the year fell. For many and I have been there it is a question of dressing up the same goals in new clothes and hoping for the best. I have also met people that got the goals they wanted and it did not feel as they expected. Why do we do this to ourselves? I get it.  The new year is a definite time marker and proof that what you said you would do either happened or it did not. We are told that.  “An entrepreneur you must have a vision.” “The drive for goals and the big vision is a key foundation of a successful life or business!” Is that true? I have met people that plan nothing and manage to fall forward into amazing opportunities. The common aspect of these is that they are super networkers. Something I will explore is a future podcast.  The 12 Week Year    A few years ago I did the 12 week year, I bought the book for Christmas and said this is it I am going to make this happen. The idea is to split the year into 90-day cycles and plan out every action towards the desired outcome.  I noticed at the time it just didn't happen. I didn't reach the goals or the outcome I was expecting. What happened was that I found it very difficult, first of all, to define a goal that was clearly mine, and to stick with it. Yeah ok, having more business is good, having more customers is good. The drive to do wasn't really there ( I was pushing myself to create more work for myself)  so I started to fall back on the goals I had set and by the end of the 90 days I have probably done less than a quarter of the project. So is that a failing in me? Or a failing in the idea of goal setting and big vision part of me? It is no secret on this podcast, my key question has been to determine what I actually want from life. In the past I didn't choose and it took me a long time to realise that not choosing was actually a choice. So over the past few years, I have made choices but mainly reactive choices not really planning a path but choosing the path of least resistance. It does not lead to big wins. This podcast has changed my outlook and there is more of a proactive direction to my life these days. Setting and achieving goals is still a challenge for me.    How to do, " goal setting and big vision "  Given this time is about reflections on goals and vision, and there are people out there they want to get stuff done. I wanted to use the 50th show to address the idea of  goal setting and big vision, and how to approach them from a healthy perspective. So I  invited two of my past guests to join me on the programme, both of them have visionary projects.  Simon Jordan was guest on podcast three, he is a brand and marketing man. Yes, we are in the same field of business. Simon has a new new project and its birth and growth is relevant to this discussion. My second guest is Suzy Beaumont. She was a guest on the 37th programme, her project is still unfolding but like Simon, she has made discoveries along the way that flies in the face of how we understand goal setting.  So this programme is an exploration of how the three of us have experienced the setting of goals and having a big vision. What has worked for us and more importantly what does not work and why. I hope you enjoy this three-way conversation about goal setting and big vision. If you find it useful disagree send us a comment I would love to explore your perspective.  You can find the details for the guests on this programme below https://lifepassionandbusiness.com/episode-03-simon-jordon-from-chasing-to-surrender/ https://lifepassionandbusiness.com/change-your-world-suzy-beaumont/   Can you Keep us flying 2018 has been an amazing year of growth for the podcast. My guest on this programme is Suzy Beaumont her vision is about change and making a difference in the world. We are kindred spirits in that one and had a great laugh throughout the interview.   Before we go there I need to touch on the subject of the moment, well for me that is my running. I mentioned last week I have entered into the Loch Ness 10K road race and I didn't know why I was doing it, but now I do The Change of Attitude I'm competing against myself, entering the race has brought up a new level of commitment. The plan is to run this race under the hour. My time regular time is 1h 3minutes. I would like to get closer to 55 minutes, but success for me will be anything under 60 minutes. I've got a training plan, and there are about ten days to go. What has been interesting, is how the action of actually taking action, putting myself down for this race has made me change my attitude towards it. Will keep you posted. In other news, I said I had some exciting interviews lined up. Well, I had a lovely conversation with Delora Guignion. She is a Mind Sex Mentor. Suzy Beaumont is a former BBC producer, with 18 years of experience, working in both radio and television. She has a track record in creating nationally recognised features and live programming and specialising in making business, health & wellbeing and lifestyle documentaries. But while life on the outside looked good, the inside was a different story. The current story is the culmination of a 10-year journey. It all started while making a programme about life coaching. Suzy had no idea of the impact that a chance meeting with a life coach would have on her. Or how that meeting would go on to transform every aspect of her life. In our conversation she candidly admits that without that meeting, she would no longer be here, we would not be talking. It was coaching and personal development that got her through the toughest part of her life. Dealing with family illness, loss and personal relationship break down. And more. Having come through the journey, she is committed to sharing the possibility of change. Change Your World is Born. In 2016 she had the idea to create an event to bring together some of the best speakers and thinkers in the personal development world. In April 2017 the event now called "Change your world" was an outstanding success. It was followed again in 2018 with a Change your world follow up that was equally successful.
