Tedric by E. E. Smith audiobook. This is a wonderful combination of far future science fiction with Conan like sword and sorcery; lots of blood, gore, honor and evil. The immensely powerful hero, Tedric, is a man's man who refuses to accept the cruel human sacrifices demanded by the 'god' Sarpedion and is set on destroying him. To do this he needs some secrets of metallurgy that future social scientists are willing to give him. He manages to overcome all obstacles until of course he meets the dazzlingly lovely Lady Rhoaan who stops him cold. A great story written by the incomparable E. E. "Doc" Smith, author of the Lensman series. And there is a great sequel to this story which will be added to the catalog. It is called Lord Tedric.

We head out to Arrowhead for Chiefs Training camp press conferences after their first full day of padded practices. Andy Reid informs us that Frank Clark missed practice with a stomach virus, Darius Harris is excused for personal reasons, BoPete Keyes has an orbital fracture, Martinas Rankin and Juan Thornhill are on PUP. Andy Reid discussed how they've managed to keep every key player and getting a Travis Kelce extension done. Travis Kelce discussed what went into his extension and why he wants to stay in KC. The party carefully conceals themselves in the underbrush to spy on a supposed meeting of the leaders of the enemy they’ve faced over the last few days. They are richly rewarded with unsettling sights and valuable information. Afterwards, the party is faced with a choice, and splits up to follow multiple leads. Quercus and Lance follow the head bad guys deeper into the woods. Alternating between boldness and caution, they make perplexing observations of the mysterious enemy forces. Quercus fails to appreciate Lance’s sarcasm, while Lance underestimates Quercus’ literalism. Pimur and Amena follow Tedric back to Dal Sherandu. A trembling Pimur is led to the soothing interior of The Eighth Tower, with a concerned Amena shepherding him into the embrace of a stout brew or two. As the buzz in his head subsides, Keira Sedai brings the novices up to speed on preparations made in Dal Sherandu since the enemy was sighted. Lance and Quercus return to Dal Sherandu to rejoin their novice friends, right as they are firmly rejecting a scheme to send them out of danger with the other civilians. Tedric arrives on a scene of bloody chaos as the party wraps up their fight with the berserkers. Pimur wakes up with an ear-splitting roar as he is stabilized by the warder’s experienced field care, nearly drowning out the tongue-lashing being administered simultaneously to the entire party.  Quercus rebuilds the campfire and prepares tea, Amena attempts to keep Pimur from exerting himself back into unconsciousness, and Lance fills Tedric in on (the majority of) the party’s activities since leaving Dal Sherandu. In return, the party is informed that the strange army of faux-Trollocs has arrived in the vicinity of the town, and that the most elite units of the Children are out patrolling that very moment. Guarded by Tedric, the party gratefully collapses into the deep sleep of recovery. When they wake, Amena and Quercus interrogate the one berserker prisoner left over from the fight, while Pimur and Lance search the other corpses. They learn of a meeting scheduled for tonight, not far away, so of course they have to go stake it out. But other questions remain; who are these people, and what do they want? Just Role With It returns for a new season of D&D with a new campaign, a new player, and a new world! In this episode, we continue to meet the new cast of JRWI, seeing how novices Amena and Pimur have gotten used to each other's foibles over months, observing the research goals of the Ogier scholar Quercus, and witnessing the discipline and patience of the Child Lance. The rebellious novices push their curfew to the limit, exactly as Tedric knew they would. A very famous book fuels their imagination for what might be lurking in the night. Quercus settles down after an active day of observing plants and other fascinating non-botanical phenomena in the town. His night is very rudely interrupted by an injured warder stumbling into his camp. Seahawks safety Tedric Thompson says when he came into the NFL three years ago, it was the speed that was the biggest adjustment from college but as soon as he understood the playbook, he could adjust to the speed. Tedric says the biggest advice he would give rookies is making sure you take care of your body because the NFL season is a long one.
