As usual, mine is a bit unpolished, so be sure and check out his also at https://everybelieverunleashed.com/ Here's info on my big BHAP project… The wind whispered uneasily through the Hundred Acre Wood, rustling the leaves like secrets passed in the dark. It had been many seasons since Christopher Robin last wandered these familiar trails, his laughter now only a memory among the trees. He had grown up—as boys must—and left the wood behind, believing the magic would wait forever. But magic, like forests, can fade if not fiercely protected. Now, a shadow loomed where sunshine once danced. Rumors crept in like ivy: a developer, suit-clad and smiling, had eyes on the land. Plans of pavement, concrete, and cul-de-sacs threatened to erase every hollow tree, every burrow, every honey-laced memory. The animals—Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, and the rest—felt it in their bones. Their home was in danger. As twilight fell and the first machines growled at the forest's edge, a quiet resolve stirred. The Hundred Acre Wood would not fall without a fight. Welcome to a place where the soil is alive, the air is sweet, and magic grows on trees. We're building The Hundred Acre Farm — a real-world homage to the whimsical wonder of the Hundred Acre Wood. This regenerative farm will be a living storybook nestled in nature — full of bees, trees, seasonal harvests, hand-built spaces, and the soft rustle of leaves telling tales of yesterday and dreams of tomorrow. This isn't just a farm — it's a sanctuary for pollinators, plants, people, and possibility. We need your help to purchase 100+ acres of fertile land and transform it into an eco-conscious, storybook-inspired haven for community, education, and healing. What humanoid robots is Europe working on? There are maybe 100 humanoid robot companies on the planet, and 16 major ones, but none in Europe according to Peter Diamandis' recent report. That might just have changed.Neura Robotics out of Germany is working on the third generation of its 4NE-1 robot and CEO David Reger says in June they'll be releasing it. And it should be the best humanoid robot on the planet, he says.In this TechFirst we sit down and chat about Europe's answer to humanoid robots, and what Reger sees as a significantly pro-social and pro-human means to bring AI and robotics into the world. We discover how Neuro Robotics is innovating with their upcoming Gen 3 humanoid robot, 4NE-1, learn about their unique approach to robotics, including responsive AI, real-time data streaming, and the development of a sensitive robotic skin. The pianist Samson Tsoy makes his solo debut on record with an album for Linn, 'Inmost Heart'. Built around Brahms's Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, the programme explores Brahms's fascination with the Baroque, but also how his music was later transcribed by Reger and Busoni. This Gramophone Podcast is given in association with Wigmore Hall James Jolly visited Samson at his North London home to talk about the new album, his journey from Kazakhstan to London via Moscow, and how he plans to incorporate music from the album into his concert programmes.
A final offering of Christmas music on Countermelody this year, but far be it from me to rehash the usual Christmas carols! Absolutely not! In this episode I offer a follow-up to an episode posted years ago featuring Christmas-themed art song. Expect the unexpected (including a big helping of 20th Century selections by Britten, Hindemith, Martinů, Rorem, and Corigliano), alongside selections from our favorite Romantic and post-Romantic composers (Brahms, Schumann, Reger, Grieg, and Strauss). Singers include Gundula Janowitz, Hermann Prey, Maureen Forrester, Edith Mathis, Karl Erb, Janet Baker, Peter Schreier, Tom Krause, and Nicolai Gedda, among many, many others. Happy Holidays to all my fans and supporters! Countermelody is a podcast devoted to the glory and the power of the human voice raised in song. Singer and vocal aficionado Daniel Gundlach explores great singers of the past and present focusing in particular on those who are less well-remembered today than they should be. Daniel's lifetime in music as a professional countertenor, pianist, vocal coach, voice teacher, and journalist yields an exciting array of anecdotes, impressions, and “inside stories.” At Countermelody's core is the celebration of great singers of all stripes, their instruments, and the connection they make to the words they sing. By clicking on the following link (https://linktr.ee/CountermelodyPodcast) you can find the dedicated Countermelody website which contains additional content including artist photos and episode setlists. On this episode of Meet the Experts, Howie sits down to chat with Anna Reger, the founder of Flip Lok. For Anna, family always comes first, so when a warning for an active threat occurred too close to home, she and her husband got to work to create a universal method to protect families in school, at work, or at home. Anna's device, the Flip Lok, is ten times stronger than a deadbolt. Anna and Howie discuss the simplicity and strength of the Flip Lok, its many applications, and its introduction into school systems throughout the nation—including in our nation's capital. SynopsisIn Berlin on today's date in 1915, prolific German composer Max Reger conducted the premiere performance of what would become his most popular orchestral work.Like Bach, Reger was a master of counterpoint and the fugue, and, like Beethoven, loved writing variations. Reger's Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Mozart starts off simple enough, quoting a familiar theme from one of Mozart's piano sonatas. About 30 minutes later, the simple theme develops into a massive fugue. It's all grand and clever if you like it, or bombastic and tiresome if you don't.The witty Nicolas Slonimsky, in his book Music Since 1900, described it as follows: “Mozart's ingenuous theme … is subjected to torturous melodic anamorphoses, contrapuntal contortion, canonic dislocation, rhythmic incrustation and harmonic inspissation.”To save you the trouble of Googling the definition of “inspissation,” let's just say it's not a condition you would wish on anybody!Whether you're a fan or not, Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Mozart is quintessential Reger, and one is tempted to say, “What did you expect? It's Reger to the Max!”Music Played in Today's ProgramMax Reger (1873-1916): Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Mozart; New York Philharmonic; Kurt Masur, cond. Teldec 74007

Parents across America remain on heightened alert as it relates to their kid's safety when they send them to school. Parents of school-aged children in the U.S. remain more apprehensive than usual about their child's physical safety at school, as 38% say they fear for their child's safety. Although this is down slightly from the 44% measured last year in the wake of the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting, it is one of the highest readings in Gallup's trend that dates back to 1977. The historical high, 55%, was measured immediately after the 1999 Columbine High School shooting, in which two students killed 12 students and a teacher before committing suicide. According to Gallup News While parental concern is lower this year than last year, the 38% currently expressing fear exceeds what Gallup measured after the 2006 Amish schoolhouse shooting in Pennsylvania, the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre in Connecticut, and the 2018 Parkland High School shooting in Florida. Furthermore, One in Seven Parents Say their Child Has Expressed Fear About School Safety A separate question in the survey aims to measure schoolchildren's safety concerns, by asking parents to report whether any of their children have expressed worry about feeling unsafe at school. Fourteen percent of parents currently say their child has. This figure is down from 20% last year, which was one of the highest percentages in Gallup's trend dating back to 1999.
