Everyone has advice for how to handle the holidays: Remember what's meaningful. Set better boundaries. Keep things simple. While these aren't terrible ideas, they can sometimes feel generic. I tend to shy away from posts and podcasts that offer such general advice. I'm not sure it's that helpful. Everyone's needs are so unique! But this year my heart kept saying, "Someone needs to hear what you have to say." So here you go. Some "Not So Typical Holiday Advice." While you listen, consider the following questions: What would it feel like to prioritize or even consider your needs this season? How will you prioritize what's important to you? How can you reach out or give back to build meaning and connection? After you listen, I'd love to know your plans for this season and any advice you'd share with others. Today on the podcast Brandon Hawk and I get into emotional age and why it matters, giving within capacity and creating boundaries of value, and parenting through connection. About Brandon Hawk: Hailed by one of his CEO client’s as “some sort of hybrid of Tony Robbins & Martin Luther King Jr,” Brandon Hawk is an expert in human potential. After joining the U.S. Olympic Tennis team at the age of 17, Brandon had the opportunity to taste the double-edged sword of success at a young age. He retired from Tennis in his early 20’s due to injury and began a 10 year journey of studying, developing and testing principles of personal transcendence and human connection. Brandon now works exclusively with CEO’s who pay up to $250,000/year to develop their capacity for a more quality, productive and fulfilling life — all of whom credit Brandon with dramatic life change. Beyond his personal coaching, Brandon is the creator of several programs and products that help people discover who they are and create lives they actually love living — including the YOU(TRAINING) event, YOU(COACHING) process, & the YOU(JOURNEY) workbook. When not on the road speaking, Brandon divides his time between introducing people to a better way of life, husbanding his beautiful wife—Ginny, and fathering his three fantastic kids—Austin, Conner & Georgia. In this episode, Brandon shares: 1. Emotional age and why it matters 2. Giving within capacity and creating boundaries of value 3. Parenting through connection
