This is our last and final week in our "Overcoming" Series. This final week we look at the book of Esther, and talk about how we can Overcome the Fear of the Future. Anticipatory anxiety, or worrying about things that may or may not happen in the future is something many of us struggle with. But as Christians, we arent called to live in fear. So what does it look like to Overcome Fear of the Future?

This week we go back to our current preaching series, "Overcoming" and we talk about something that is an epidemic in our world today: Loneliness. As people, many of us struggle with loneliness, and we struggle with feeling unloved, unneeded, unwanted, or uncared for. Does the Bible have something to say about this? This week we take a break from our current sermon series, and instead we celebrate a special Sunday in our church life. Its Remembrance Sunday, where we take time to remember those that came before us who gave up so much for our freedoms, and the freedoms of others that are enjoyed around the world. And its also our 38th Church Anniversary. We have existed as Avenue Road Baptist Church for 38 years, but our roots go back 146 years, as a group of two churches that joined many years ago. As we celebrate our Anniversary, we look at Paul's words to the Philippian church in Phil. 3:12-14 and talk about what it means to celebrate our past and at the same time look to the future.

Welcome to week 8 in our "Overcoming" series. This week we talk about Bitterness. Bitterness eats away at us, and steals joy from our lives. Sometimes we harbor bitterness without even knowing. Today we look at Genesis 4, and 45, and compare what it means to harbor bitterness and what it looks like to let it go. This is week 7 in our series looking at "Overcoming". This week we talk about what it means to be content, and why so many of us struggle living lives of discontentment. This week is the 5th installment of the "Overcoming" Series. We talk about Apathy, a lack of enthusiasm, concern, or care. Apathetic lives are dangerous lives, as we focus on self, and leads us to doing 'nothing'. How do we live FULL lives, not apathetic ones. How can we "overcome" apathy? Have a listen, as we dive into Ecclesiastes 9:10 and Colossians 3:17

This week is week 3 in the series called "Overcoming" This week we talk about how we often struggle with a Judgmental Nature, not just in society or culture, but in the church too, and in our own lives. We talk about why its important we overcome that judgmental nature, and learn to accept others as God has accepted us.

This is week two in the "Overcoming" Series. This week we talk about Overcoming our Self-Importance. Too many of us only think about people, or events, in terms of how they affect us, which is a sign that we may be struggling with too much self-importance.
