You may be expecting to see the name of Balaam in this description and we'll get there, but first let's head to the pool for a moment. You are likely familiar with signs or painted words that direct us to walk safely and not run around a pool. The purpose is to protects us from pain and injury. If a lifeguard sees someone running, it's his job to intervene. He may speak a warning with the volume determined by distance and the noise level. If necessary, he may blow his whistle. The whistle demands our attention, disrupts our flow, and alerts us to danger. God can work in a similar fashion.Enter Balaam. And his donkey.Join us as we delve into what God could be using to get our attentions. You may just discover you have your own talking donkey.*Special Note: I purposely omitted part of Numbers 22:19 in case anyone is listening with little ears around. Please read Numbers 22 for the full story.Bible verses referred to in this episode:Numbers 22(with focus on verses 21-32)Hebrews 4:16Find me on Instagram @HLynnPierce or at hlynnpierce.comSign up for my E-mail list here!

One King is hoping to stop their advance with a curse delivered through a mysterious prophet named Balaam, who says he talks to Yahweh on a regular basis, and who promises to be able to divine the very mind of God. Will this curse work? Will this curse stop Israel in its tracks? And how does a talking donkey factor into this story? Listen to this week's episode to find out. To follow along turn to Numbers 22 as that is where the story begins. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

The opposition to God's chosen people Israel came in many forms. The same is true for us. Our enemy continually seeks opportunities to discredit, distract, and destroy us. We can never rest in our successes and let our guards down. Balaam's Unusual Talking Donkey Taught Me a Few Things Greed, compromise, betrayal, and corruption are all words that come to mind when I think of the word "corruption."
