In the aftermath of any tragedy, we face this reality: Evil is real and rampant. There is no place on this planet that is evil-free. As one author wrote, "I will never understand those who can read the headlines every day and then assert that people are basically good ... Evil is woven into the fabric of humanity." Throughout our study of Elijah, we've seen him facing or fleeing evil, but always returning to fight it, because that's what it means to live the God life. And it's not to be confused with the good life. While the good life might avoid evil, ignore it, or let others deal with it, those living the God life don't have that option. Now, as we near the close of Elijah's story, we find him confronting Ahaziah, the son of Ahab and Jezebel. Though Elijah might have hoped for retirement after the deaths of Ahab and Jezebel, evil continued through their son. And one central truth emerges: When you look up to God, you'll stand out from the crowd and often be told to stand down. But when you stand with God, He gives you the power to stand tall and strong in Him.
God's power at work in us makes us strong to be His witnesses no matter what it costs?
James teaches us that temptation comes from within. We're only tempted with the things that we desire. There is a godly way to fulfill every desire, but through brokenness, perversion and confusion we choose to fulfill our natural desires in ways that do not honor God's natural order, which is sin. But sin is no longer our master for we are dead to sin in Christ. Join us today as we discuss how to stand in His strength and overcome.

As a submissive wife, you will face criticism. Some may mock your choice, question your values, or try to shame you for embracing traditional femininity. Don't give them your peace. You are not living for their approval. You've chosen this life freely—because you believe in your husband, in your home, and in the divine order God intended. You know what is right. You know this is how things are meant to be. Their opinions don't define you. Stand strong in your truth. There is beauty in a woman who lives with conviction, grace, and quiet confidence. Let them talk—you'll be too busy building a strong, loving, and peaceful home.

Today I'm launching a 10-part podcast series based on my book Resolved. Ten Ways to Stand Strong and Live What You Believe. No matter how strong we claim our faith in God is, when life is hard, it all comes down to resolve. Do we really believe what we say we believe? And does what we profess with our lips show up in our everyday actions? In this series, I'm going to present you with ten topics that every follower of Jesus Christ can boldly put a stake in the ground and say, most confidently, “This I believe!” I hope to help you understand the disconnect between what we say we believe and how we live. I want to give you biblical strategies for change that will allow you to stand strong no matter what. For diving further into these topics, check out my book Resolved here! Teaching from the book of Daniel, Pastor Rick explains that when you publicly stand strong for God, it encourages other believers to stand strong too. Your courage is a powerful example to unbelievers, and your boldness encourages other Christians to be bold too.
The book of Daniel teaches that when you publicly stand up for your beliefs, God has a chance to do a miracle in your life. But if you never risk anything, you'll never give God the opportunity to do a miracle.
Pastor Rick talks about ways to fight fear, and how you benefit every time you stand for God. Daniel's life shows how God can give you victory over fear.

Hey friends! Welcome to Girls' Night! Today, we're revisiting a conversation I had with my friend, Dr. Sasha Shillcutt, on setting boundaries. If you've been a Girls Night listener for a while now, this isn't the first time you're hearing me talk about boundaries. And it's because this has been a HUGE lesson for me. I am historically bad at knowing what I want and what I need — at drawing lines and saying no. And for the longest time, I was okay with that. (Maybe even a little bit proud of it?) I like being helpful. I like being needed. I like feeling useful, capable, and strong. For years I thought that this was the best way to love the people I love: To always put their needs above my needs, to say yes to everything, to give but never take, and to have everything that's mine be theirs without limit — whether it was my stuff, my space, my time, or my energy. This is what I thought would lead to the healthiest, closest relationships. But over the last few years I've learned that the opposite is true. Boundaries are an absolutely essential part of healthy relationships. They're an essential part of a healthy life, of a healthy US. And that's what we're talking about here today. Our guest, Dr. Sasha Shillcutt, is a renowned cardiac anesthesiologist, professor, bestselling author and CEO and Founder of Brave Enough. Sasha is also a wife and a mother who has walked through seasons of loneliness, anxiety, and complete burnout. Needless to say, she has had to learn about boundaries the HARD way. She wrote a book called, Brave Boundaries: Strategies to Say No, Stand Strong and Take Control of Your Time where she helps us find the courage to implement boundaries in our own life. Here are just a few of the things she's going to teach us in this episode: How to take a personal boundary inventory and identify what boundaries we need Why saying no to others and yes to ourselves isn't selfish and can actually help us be a better version of ourselves (and love our people better!) How to kindly respond to someone if we receive backlash for the boundary we've set And so much more! One of my favorite things that Sasha says in the episode was, "The world will set your boundaries if you don't set them for yourself” and that couldn't be more true. Friends, if you're feeling anxious, burned out, or overwhelmed in life right now, this episode is for you! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
