4 young Christians, sitting at a table and exploring and learning more together.
AT THE TABLE PODCAST HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER! At the end of August, Jon and Beth were part of the team that held a summer school for near 90 kids aged between 12 and 21 linked with Salvation Army centres/churches/youth clubs from around London and the South East. As part of the young people's programme that week, they got to choose 'streams' which were focusses on particular activities such as sport, art and worship (music). There were also 2 groups that signed up to do Media as a stream and At the Table Podcast has a great episode to share with you that was recorded and made by some of the amazing young people who took part that week. In this episode they are sharing some of their thoughts on the theme of the week (SALT+LIGHT), chat around some of the questions asked and explore what it means to be salt and light in the world in our day and age. Please give them encouragement. Please comment, share and also feel inspired by the podcast episode. We thank God for the amazing young people who are part of the Salvation Army. So encouraged and inspired by these gifted, talented group.

EPISODE 5: Eric Liddell Stories are the essential building block of empathy and human connection. Since the beginning of time, storytelling has been used to connect, engage, inspire, heal and create a brighter future. We are convinced that it is stories that change our world. We have seen hearts change and opinions soften when real people and real stories are heard. Beth received a church prize book called "Ten Girls that Changed the World" when she was a child and it is this book that inspired this all-new series from At the Table Podcast by Faversham Salvation Army. You may know the stories of Christians like Martin Luther King jr, Florence Nightingale and maybe that of the Salvation Army's founders William & Catherine Booth but this series, we are hearing the stories that changed the world from people you may not have heard of. As we almost reach the end of our latest series, we are looking at a capped rugby player, gold medalist, stadium-builder, teacher and missionary (to name a few of the accolades...); a man called Eric Liddell. Eric is inspirational - not only for his sporting feats - but also the way he was compassionate, loving, caring and devoted during a dark period in our history. There is also a film which depicts his life which - to our surprise - is a huge popular blockbuster! Tune in on your favourite podcast platforms from Apple to Spotify, to Google to Audible.
