Outlouders, we have quite the little treat for your Sunday Special today. It’s been 18 months since Evelyn Jones burst onto our screens in Strife—fictional, yes, but her story couldn’t feel more real to the women who brought her to life. In this special episode of No Filter, host Jessie Stephens— one of Strife's writers and an Executive Editor on Mamamia—is joined by Mia Freedman, Asher Keddie (who plays Evelyn) and Bruna Papandrea (Executive Producer) to reflect on Season 1 and to give us a sneak peek at what’s to come in Season 2. Mia's memoir Work, Strife, Balance inspired the hit Binge series and together, these powerhouse creatives, open up about what it means to be a woman in the media and entertainment industry today—the competition, the comparisons, the fear of cancellation, and the constant balancing act between public and private life. And of course, they talk about ambition: what it costs, why it matters, and how the world still struggles when women dare to want more. Season 2 of Strife is streaming on Binge now. Today's Sunday Special is one we think you're going to love. Mia Freedman has been in countless conversations with Holly Wainwright—on mics, off mics, in meetings, in texts. But she’s never been on MID. Until now. In this episode, Holly kicks off Season Five with someone who knows her well, and who’s read something very personal—her brand new book, He Would Never. It’s a story about the limits and power of female friendships, narcissistic love, and the tricky transitions from girlhood to teenagehood. And Mia had thoughts. Lots of them. For one - the teenage girls we were in the 90s are very different than the teenage girls of today. This episode is about writing and ambition. Confidence and self-doubt. Teenage daughters and their teenage selves. It’s a conversation between two women the same age, but at different parenting stages. At the end of this episode, Holly has a very special gift for you - so stick around, you don't want to miss it. You can pre order Holly's book He Would Never here. And it's available in all good book stores from April 29th THE END BITS: Share your feedback! Welcome to the Purple Patch Podcast! On this episode, IRONMAN Master Coach Matt Dixon, host of the Purple Patch Podcast, discusses the Win Cycle program, designed to help leaders and teams achieve consistent performance. He emphasizes the importance of "nailing the basics" for high performance, drawing from his experience coaching elite triathletes. Dixon highlights key habits, such as the "Sunday Special" for reflection and planning, consistent fueling after training, adequate sleep, and regular strength training. He criticizes performance trends lacking a scientific basis, such as blood type diets and bioresonance devices, and warns against the OMAD diet for its nutrient gaps and energy instability. Dixon advocates for a simple, science-backed approach to build a performance-based layer for sustained high performance. Outlouders, you might remember a couple of weeks ago Holly shared some really interesting insights about Hollywood and why we're seeing so many MID women dominating it in film and television - insights she gleaned from a recent MID interview. Well today, we thought we'd share the full chat with you because it's a cracker. Rachel Griffiths says she just got through her "peak mid-hell years" and she's here to tell us how. The actor, producer, and director has had many eras - from the "fast start" of Muriel's Wedding to being a Hollywood awards darling, a big-deal US TV star, the director of the Australian classic movie Ride Like A Girl, the co-creator of Total Control and now, the star of the TV show Madam. Through all that, she was also wrestling with the relatable MID dramas - parenting teens and young adults, a diagnosis that made sense of so much, caring for ageing relatives and trying to keep a long-term marriage going. No wonder, as she tells host Holly Wainwright, she and her husband needed a sabbatical. This conversation also veers off into ageing, the Hollywood stars Rachel used to envy but no longer does, how to stay optimistic in a tumultuous world and the relief of finding out she's "ADHD AF". You can follow Rachel Griffiths here. You can watch Madam here: Watch Madam Season 1, Catch Up TV THE END BITS: Share your feedback! Outlouders, prepare yourselves! We've witnessed something rare and spectacular – Jessie Stephens in full fan-girl mode. We're talking wide-eyed, can't-form-proper-sentences, borderline embarrassing levels of excitement. The cause of this meltdown? None other than the elusive figure behind one of Australia's most successful podcasts – Casefile's mysterious 'Casey' – who recently graced True Crime Conversations with his presence. To the true crime community, he's podcast royalty. A voice that has guided millions through some of history's darkest moments, all while maintaining his own anonymity. Some call him 'Casey', others 'that Casefile bloke', but nobody calls him by his real name... because nobody knows it! In his new book, “Dawn's Early Light,” Roberts offers a diagnosis of America's most urgent problems, as well as a series of policy prescriptions for a more prosperous future. In this episode of The Sunday Special, Kevin discusses the tradeoffs inherent to policymaking, why Republicans must not neglect fiscal conservatism any longer, and which executive agency he would reform first.
