Held in the Gardener's Hands | Power and Promise | John 15:1-8 Walking through the rich Holy Land context of John 15, this message unpacks Jesus' intimate teaching to His disciples after the Last Supper as they crossed the Kidron Valley toward the Mount of Olives. Using the familiar metaphor of vineyards, Jesus reveals Himself as the true vine and God as the gardener who tends to believers in two essential ways. Key Insights: • Jesus HOLDS Every Branch in His Hands - Understanding your secure position in Christ and how God lifts up fallen branches to reconnect them to the source of life. • Jesus APPLIES the Shears with Love - Why pruning isn't punishment but preparation for greater fruitfulness in your life. • Jesus NOURISHES Our Connection - The vital importance of abiding in Christ and how this relationship sustains us. • Jesus DEVELOPS lasting FRUIT - How genuine spiritual fruit comes only through connection to the vine. • Jesus STAYS through Every Season - Finding comfort in being chosen and kept by the Gardener who never gives up on you. Key Scripture: John 15 (https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.15.NIV) Whether you're questioning your faith journey, struggling with spiritual growth, or seeking to understand God's purpose in difficult seasons, this message reminds us that "the gardener isn't looking to get rid of you. He's looking to reconnect you." Although Jesus knew he would be betrayed, he wrestled with the temptation to deny it and urged his disciples to pray against it as well. Jesus emphasized the importance of prayer, of open communion with God. To make it Practical 1. Pray thanking Jesus for voluntarily drinking of the cup (in our place) 2. Pray to God and ask Him to help you not fall into temptation 3. Pray to God for someone close to you; not to fall into temptation
In the closing chapter of his book, Zechariah writes of the wonderful promise of the return of Yeshua the Messiah. He states, "...his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives which is before Jerusalem on the east..." (Zechariah 14:4).If "his feet" are to stand on the Mount of Olives then he must appear in an incarnate state. To be sure it will be his resurrected and glorified incarnate self, but it will be his incarnate self. One day soon, Yeshua's feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives once again. When they do, they will be the feet of the Jewish Messiah who has come to rule and to reign.Link to download Zechariah chart: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BkFtNcDKe32mzcqZGek_HXqXlVUVEO7C/view?usp=sharingYouTube: https://youtube.com/live/KBkm4Du8DVYSend us a text

WALKING IN THE FOOTSTEPS of Abraham, Joshua, David, and Jesus. That's the short version of this week's program. Our 2019 tour of Israel took us from Joshua's altar, site of the discovery of an ancient curse tablet written in archaic Hebrew at a time when the Israelites weren't supposed to be in the land of Canaan, to the Mount of Olives and the Temple Mount. Messianic Rabbi Zev Porat showed us the historic locations of the crucifixion and burial tomb of Jesus on the Mount of Olives, while our visit to the Temple Mount was interrupted by angry ravens.Zev also shared with us that ancient olives from the time of Jesus have started to germinate and grow on their own—almost as though they've been waiting for this day.
Welcome to the show, friends! We're so happy that you've joined us for our conversation together "on the Mount of Olives,” as we grow in our faith and encourage one another. Palm Sunday is comparable to the Day of the Lord in at least two ways. First, Jesus Christ descended from the Mount of Olives in Luke 19:37 on the first Palm Sunday, and will also descend from it at His coming in Zechariah 14:1-4. And, second, Jesus pronounced against the nation of Israel and the City of Jerusalem destruction in Luke 19:42-44, which was fulfilled in 70 AD when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Herod's Temple, and destruction is also clearly seen in this future setting. Zephaniah 3:6-8 states, " have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant. 7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings. 8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy." So, the Mt. of Olives and destruction is clearly in focus in both contexts.
'Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"Matthew 24:3On Tuesday of the Passion Week, before Jesus would be crucified on Friday, Jesus' day was full of many experiences, which you can read about in Matthew 21:18 through Matthew 26:13. Early Tuesday morning on His way to the temple, He taught His disciples about the need for faith; and in the temple, He was challenged in continual debate by the chief priests, the Pharisees, and the Sadducees. Before exposing their hypocrisy and departing for the Mount of Olives, Jesus made clear to the religious leaders that the whole Law and the prophets hang on the two foremost commandments, to love God and love your neighbor.

église AB Lausanne ; KJV John 8 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? ...

église AB Lausanne ; KJV Mark 11 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him. And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt? And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go. And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest. ...

Luke 22:39-46 Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. 40 On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” 41 He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” 43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. 44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. 45 When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. 46 “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” What does this say about God? About people? What is your response? A full transcript can be found at amyburgin.com.
2 Samuel 16: 5-12 // Ben BeasleyI understand that there are people here who have lived more life than me. Who have experienced much more than me. I'm well aware of that fact. But in my years, I've lived enough life simply to say this. Losses change us. They make us different. We don't come out the other end the same. If we are honest, the wounds are often there, lying underneath the surface. Losses, whether it's the loss of a child, a relationship, a dream, or whatever it may be - losses are defining moments in our lives. I would like us to recognize three ways in which suffering changes us; suffering humbles us, suffering leads us to pray, and in suffering, we find compassion for others. We are not alone in our suffering. God enters into our suffering and is the only one who can redeem the mess to offer hope in our suffering.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49111478 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2509/responses/new23.07.30

How long does it take to form a habit? Jesus had a habit of alone time with His Heavenly Father. As a church we like to promote the 5-5-5 challenge, 5 minutes of reading scripture, 5 minutes of prayer, and 5 minutes of silence listening for the voice of God. But for some 1-1-1 might be the place to start. Just getting into the habit of everyday at a certain time, turning to the Bible. Turning to Scripture. Turning to His Word.
