Everybody is looking outward in search of meaning and guidance to live by; religion, political parties, and spur-of-the-moment emotional pop-up causes that you jump into; when there is an oil spill or a cop killing or canceling someone or some company. Think of where you try to find your meaning? Is it pro-gun, pro-vaccine, pro-abortion, pro LGBT, pro your religious sect, or is it in being ANTI one or some of those? As yourself why you are trying to embed yourself into a social structure? Is it part of fully because you believe that alone and without support, you are unworthy insignificant and your life is meaningless? Get your ass outside, get away from the "stuff" that is man-made and get as close as you can to what the creator of the universe made. Take your shoes off and touch the earth, get back to the way our ancestors had contact with the earth. Breathe deep, really deep, hold it in... inhale and take a hit and get high on fresh air. The problem with goals is that they are achievable. That's not to say people achieve them. but winners (peeps in our warrior tribe) do the opposite...something unique, different… call it ANTi-average. Do not set goals you can achieve… that is what the average do and it is one of the 5 mistakes they make that is putting their life into a never-ending cycle of inconsistency. Work on Intentions in Your Life That Have No End Point. This might sound new to you and perhaps a little crazy, but it is a tenet of ANTi-average living, contributing to long-term consistency. Anything attainable by its very nature creates a stopping point. Stopping and consistency are not good bedfellows. Additionally, having the Mindset and working toward things with endpoints will leave you empty and wanting. There is a considerable difference between end-goal and no-end-point Mindsets. I wake up every morning with gratitude in my heart that I am blessed with another day.I also have the awareness that nobody knows when their last breath will be, but one day, all of us will breathe out and we won't breathe back in. That one day could be today, tomorrow, next week, next year, or when we are 99 years old. But it is really fucking risky to live like there IS a tomorrow. 65 million people die each year in the world. That is 178,000 each day, 7425 each hour, and 120 each minute. And we all walk around assuming that it won't be us, but one day it will, and it might be tomorrow. If we incorporate and integrate the awareness that "tomorrow is promised to no one," it blessing your "today" in immeasurable and innumerable ways. Most couples don't communicate well. It's a problem. Even those who think they communicate well are fooling themselves. If you examine your daily communication, it involves the kids, work, bills, world issues, sports, things breaking down, or tasks you need to do tomorrow. It's a very low-level, low vibration discussion 99% of the time. When people look at their life, they have the wrong perspective. They don't see the adventure of life. I hear people say, I want more adventure, my life is boring, it is in a rut, it isn't fulfilling. This is a multifaceted issue.-You are unaware of where you have control.-You are unaware of where those feelings are coming from-You are unaware that the adventure started when you were born and it ends with death. You need to view this life as all there is if you want to suck the marrow out of it properly.IF you hate your life, feel it is boring, routine, unfulfilling you need to understand that "it is exactly what you WANT." You are living the adventure of life that you have designed for yourself. If you don't like it, look in the mirror and realize, you are responsible for it, your wants have been steering your life ship so far and that you can take control and steer it somewhere you love. Everybody has a reason why they're not where they want to be Some seem to have made it their life's mission to find all the reasons why they don't have what they want Very close to 100% of the reasons come from their past and future. Yet, the past and future don't exist. Time has 3 ingredients, past PRESENT, and future. But time is not real because 2 of the 3 ingredients don't exist. Most people underestimate how powerful and important having faith in what you are doing means to your effort, consistency, patience, and success. In the 1950s, Curt Richter, a professor at Johns Hopkins, did a famous drowning rats psychology experiment. This experiment demonstrated the power of hope in overcoming difficult situations. What these researchers observed when you put faith and hope into a rat's life was nothing short of astounding. You need to develop this kind of hope and faith in yourself. Some things just don't deserve your energy and focus. Why? Because they aren't giving you life, not supporting your efforts, not propelling you toward your dreams, and are the habits and follies of the average masses. We live in a world made up of stories. Stories are how we interpret the world. It started around the campfire hundreds of thousands of years ago, where humans talked to one another through stories. Stories are powerful because of the ease in which they alter our perspectives and thinking, which blesses the individual if the stories are good but also opens us up to be vulnerable to harmful stories, which most are. Don't allow your storyteller to tell you that they are "just" stories. Stories create and alter the very fabric of your reality. It is time to become aware of the 24-hour constant barrage of thoughts, voices, and stories playing out in your mind. These voices aren't just rambling incoherently; they are telling stories. The stories you tell create the “ceilings” and “chains” in your life, in all zones. Quieting the storyteller is the ultimate end, but creating better stories is the means to that end. Have a Listen!
Are you a bystander? Does the Bystander Effect apply to you? If you are unfamiliar with it, the Bystander Effect is the psychological observation that people are less likely to help someone in need or fix a problem because other people are present. Most people live their lives as bystanders. They see a problem and think..."I don't need to do this because someone else will take care of it!"This leads to a very average life, a life among the turkeys, among the masses. But you can alter your course in life, and the world needs you to do so. Have a listen!
Married 31 years. Our Marriage…Not just good…GREAT! Jennifer and I get asked all the time, is your marriage as good as it appears? The real answer, it's better than it appears. It doesn't come from two people bringing 50% each to the relationship. Nor does it come from bringing 100/100 to the relationship. What human could gauge if they are bringing 60%, 72%, or 93%? I can't, no one can! We buy into so much BS about relationships because it sounds good. The divorce rates show none of it is working. Straight talk...you are either a Blessing or a Burden to each other. Have a Listen!
Fear has a special place in all of our lives. It is what politicians use to pull people to their party and manipulate the masses. Parents use it to control the actions of their children. Religious leaders use it to control the lives of their parishioners. Who else uses fear and how does it affect our lives? Have a listen!
Your life has inertia right now. For most, it is what I call burden inertia. It is either going nowhere or moving, but not in the right direction. It might be stationary, with little movement, in a state where you feel like you just aren't going anywhere. There is a sense of stagnation that you live the same life over and over every day. Your body and health have been the same for as long as you can remember, with no effort being put into changing it. Your bank account is unchanging, and you are living paycheck to paycheck in the same job for far too long, or your personal business is going nowhere year after year, struggling to grow in market share. There is no excitement in your primary relationships, and you have had the same friends forever. Your happiness needle is resting on empty. Your life is going nowhere, and you feel a sense of urgency to get it moving in the right direction. Your life is an OBJECT AT REST according to the laws of physics. Average is the ENEMY of everything you want in life! You find yourself where you are at right now in life, with unattained dreams, for these simple reasons. -You followed what the masses were doing. -Your habits, decisions, and identity are typical, traditional, and tragic. -Your current activities and daily choices are not what the Outliers in life are doing; yours are currently average. Why do we follow this path to an average life? Fear of failure. If your life is average or below average, fear is the likely culprit. Have a Listen!
Perspective changes everything and yet nothing! Putting yourself in the shoes of the person you just had an argument with doesn't change the argument, but it allows you to see what they see and find common ground. Seeing the news as a Hollywood production rather than an unbiased truth program allows you to be untouchable by the fear and drama even though it doesn't change the content. It changes your reality to add new perspectives to your life! Take a listen.
We all have an internal judge, critic and drill seargent that is ready to impart TOUGH LOVE when we are going through dark times. But oft times, that is NOT what we need. We need an internal shoulder to lean on, to listen, to love us. We need to develop a passionate internal storyteller and coach. Take a listen!
You will hear people telling you to find your “why?”It's bullshit. There is no “why” inside to find. They will define it as your purpose, passion, and inspiration to take action, and searching for it, in my experience, leads to two sad conclusions:1) It is so elusive to most that they spend the rest of their life searching for it.2) It keeps you looking for something too damn specific, that one thing that is unique to you and is so damn enjoyable to wake up to that it doesn't feel like work. This paralyzes the human mind. The search for your “why” will actually prevent you from living your passion. I mean, where do you even start to look for this “why?” It is a first-class ticket to disappointment and depression. To give your mind that job, to find your “why” in this world is crazy. And it gives you the perfect excuse not to do anything today, next week, or likely for years as you search for it. It puts you on a never-ending search that feels like a snipe hunt! Take a Listen!
Everybody is trying to distract you. Distraction is the game . Don't fall for it. Keep your eye on what you control and what adds value and blessing to your life. Distractions are burdens to your life. You focus on "you," that's self-love. Chasing Shiny Objects in each zone will strengthen the chains of average in your life....something you need to be aware of and eliminate from your life. Take a listen.
I'm not gonna lose. I came here to win, you did too, whether you know it or not. I'm not going to leave this rock with regrets of not hitting my complete potential, not leaving anything on the table. I was made for this and you were made for this. There is a warrior inside you, a wild warrior. Not someone who is an obedient slave to anyone. You are here to think for yourself, to find the real you and be the real you. Living ANTi-average can be a battleBut I was born for battle, and you were too. YOU WERE Made for this. Take a listen!

Introduce me to your tribe and I will be able to predict with great accuracy where you will be in all 4 zones in your life in 10 years. Look into the eyes of your tribe if you want to see your future. Your fitness level, your bank account balance, your marital status, your mindsets, they can all be predicted with by simply evaluating your tribe.The most common tribe members holding people back are parents, siblings and friends.It doesn't matter how many genes you share or how many beers you have shared, if they are not adding value to your life, you must eliminate them. People are either a burden or a blessing!It is that simple.Have a listen!
I read something Malcolm X said years ago. He said, “That which you do not hate, you will eventually tolerate.” 8 years ago, I hated where my life was in every zone. If I didn't hate it, I would have come to tolerate it and I would have remained average. Once I rose out of the ashes, I realized how important that "hate" was in moving me to action.
