Saving a loved one isn't about drama, ultimatums, or "fairness", it's about doing what actually works. In this episode, host Sharlee Dixon sits down with Amber Hollingsworth, Master Addiction Counselor, founder of the Hope For Families Method, and creator of the popular YouTube channel Put The Shovel Down. Amber built a global movement by rewriting the rules of recovery, showing families how to guide loved ones toward help without waiting for them to "hit bottom." Tune in as Sharlee and Amber unpack a radical, connection-first strategy: trading outdated stigmas for "invisible interventions," disarming denial, and protecting your own sanity while making real headway. Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández joins Rio Ferdinand to relive one of football's most remarkable careers, opening up on the dressing rooms that shaped him and the biggest names he played alongside. You'll see Chicharito like never before as he passionately explains why Cristiano Ronaldo was "never arrogant", revealing what the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was really like behind closed doors at Real Madrid and why the Portuguese icon's relentless mentality is so often misunderstood. The former United favourite also breaks down the movement that made him one of Europe's deadliest penalty-box strikers, analysing the famous Bolton goal that Rio still calls one of the greatest examples of striker movement he's ever seen. He explains why Erling Haaland can become an even more complete forward, compares Harry Kane to Karim Benzema and names the current striker he'd most like to play alongside. There's also a fascinating insight into Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United, why adapting to the club's culture mattered more than proving yourself immediately, the standards set by Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney, plus why Michael Carrick deserves far more credit for restoring Manchester United's identity.Chicharito also reflects on life at Real Madrid alongside Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Luka Modrić and Sergio Ramos, discusses why Gareth Bale remains one of football's most underrated superstars and reveals the five-a-side team he'd pick from the incredible players he shared a dressing room with.00:00 - Introduction & Cristiano Ronaldo's Mentality01:38 - Chicharito on His Playing Style & Movement02:32 - Adapting to Man Utd alongside Rooney, Giggs & Nani04:39 - Is Movement Instinctive or Learned?06:22 - Dissecting the Iconic Goal vs. Bolton (Movement Analysis)10:23 - Reading Teammate Body Language & Quick Attacks12:59 - Advice for New Transfers Entering Big Clubs15:43 - Manchester United Standards & Earning Respect18:40 - Family Legacy & Tough Love from His Father20:00 - Dressing Room Culture & Learning from Paul Scholes24:15 - Winning Player of the Year in His Debut Season26:08 - The Post-Ferguson Shift & Leaving Old Trafford30:32 - Manchester United vs. Real Madrid: Cultural Differences34:58 - What Cristiano Ronaldo Was Really Like Behind the Scenes40:52 - Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema & The Modern #949:54 - Picking His Ultimate Strike Partner & 5-a-Side Team#Chicharito #RioFerdinand #CristianoRonaldo #ManUtd #RealMadrid #MUFC #HalaMadrid #PremierLeague #ChampionsLeague #Ronaldo #CR7 #ErlingHaaland #HarryKane #KarimBenzema #GarethBale #LukaModric #PaulScholes #WayneRooney #MichaelCarrick #StrikerMovement #FootballAnalysis #StrikerMindset #Goalscorers #FootballTactics #FootballDressingRoom #5aSide #SirAlexFerguson #FootballPodcast #FootballInterview #ManUtdLegends #RealMadridCF #WomensFootball #FarahReacts #FarahMeets #PodcastHighlightSubscribe: http://bit.ly/15QO9WERio Ferdinand Presents: rioferdinandpresents.comRio Ferdinand Presents Instagram: https://instagram.com/rioferdinandpresentsRio Ferdinand Presents Twitter/X: https://x.com/RioMeetsRio Ferdinand Presents Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rioferdinandpresentsRio Ferdinand Presents TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@rioferdinandpresentsRio Ferdinand Presents Threads: https://www.threads.net/@rioferdinandpresentsRio Ferdinand Instagram: https://instagram.com/rioferdy5Rio Ferdinand Twitter/X: https://x.com/rioferdy5Rio Ferdinand Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RioFerdinandOfficialRio Ferdinand TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@rioferdy5Rio Ferdinand Threads: https://www.threads.net/@rioferdy5 Hosted on Acast. What does a fulfilling life mean to you? It's an important question for anyone to ask themselves because it can help to influence your decisions, focus, and dedication to bring you closer to what you truly want and decide how you spend your time. My guest this week, Jason Robinson, reached a point in his life where he knew he wanted more; travel, adventure, and freedom. So he went for it. And then received some shocking news that changed his whole World again. Yet he had learned to roll with the changes. A previous guest encouraged me to Follow Jason on Instagram and have him on the show because she said we had some things in common and, indeed, we do. I loved talking to a follow nomad and hearing his wisdom around embracing life and his unique circumstances in a loving and accepting way to the best of his ability. On this guest episode Jason and I bond over our Nomadic lifestyles and love for novel experiences in life as well as a desire to be able to actually enjoy the lives we have. Jason shares about hitting a burnout wall a couple years ago; the moment, the action he took after 6-18 months of MVP (Minimum viable product = least amount of work to pay the bills instead of hustling all the time on side hustles + work), and learning how to play again or to simply sit in silence and be. (That last part is hard!) Part of Jason's story is also his Type 1 Diabetes diagnoses that he received just a year after becoming nomadic. He offers insight into taking intentional time to grieve when he was diagnosed and his realization that living in time scarcity isn't really the way to be for someone who is committed to living to the fullest.BIO:As a working class kid from Ohio, Jason didn't realize that moving away from his home state was an option until he was in his 20s, but as he got older, he realized that unless he wanted to end up a cranky old man with twisted, second-hand perceptions of the world, he figured he better start learning to travel... solo! As a result, Jason adopted an “experiment mindset” to tackle the unknowns of travel and how to make a living while on the road. He eventually transitioned to being a location independent nomad, earning his income by being a freelance designer and writer. Then, less than a year after selling it all to travel and work remote, during the Covid pandemic, Jason was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He remains dedicated to motivating and inspiring others to push their comfort zones, but now he includes how to navigate living nomadically while managing a major medical condition. After hitting a major burnout wall a couple of years ago, these days Jason has really been concentrating on taking life slower, focusing more on the present, and trying to find balance with all of the directions life can pull us in.He writes about life, travel, money, and all things in between at: https://lifealteringthoughts.substack.com/ also:Thenomadexperiment.comtype1diabetestravel.comhttps://www.thenomadexperiment.com/digital-nomad-experiment-fear-solo-travel/ Jason A. "Love Island USA" season 8 hosted its Family Day in episode 32, and although all the islanders were excited to see their loved ones, a few castmates were left crying and confused. Our "Virtual Reali-Tea" co-hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real caught up with "Love Island" correspondent Jordan Emanuel to dish all about the latest episode. The family members didn't hold back: Bryce's grandma questioned why he and Trinity hadn't gone to the hideaway, while Kenzie and Dylan's mom bonded over her clam slam, and although most chats with the fam were love and light, Melanie and Sincere received quite the opposite. In this not-to-miss episode of Do Good to Lead Well, I am joined by Marcus Buckingham—the world's foremost expert on human strengths and engagement—for a candid, data-rich conversation about bringing love into leadership. Drawing on his latest book, Marcus redefines love for the modern workplace: not as romance, but as an intentional design for human flourishing and extraordinary results. Our conversation begins with the deeply personal, as Marcus shares the vulnerability and lessons he learned after selling his beloved company, sparking a compelling case for why “designing love in” must be at the core of modern organizations. He also directly challenges the widespread myths that love makes organizations weak or leaders soft. Instead, tough love emerges as a vital force; sometimes the most loving thing a leader can do is share hard truths or make difficult calls. This episode dives into the real-world consequences of unloving practices like inefficient handoffs or unmanageable spans of control, offering concrete strategies for leaders to build truly vibrant, trust-filled cultures.Whether you're a CEO who wants to transform your organization a team leader wanting to create an environment where you people flourish, this episode provides an evidence-based blueprint. Solomon is joined by Congressman Marlin Stutzman, who shares insights on foreign affairs and the implications of U.S. relations with Europe. The discussion takes a reflective turn as Father Frank Pavone joins Solomon to explore the significance of faith in America, particularly in light of the recent Religious Liberty Commission's report. They address the challenges posed by creeping socialism and anti-American sentiments within the far-left movements, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a nation under God.To round off the episode, Dr. Chad Walding from NativePath provides the weekly health news update, offering listeners valuable insights into wellness and health management. My friend Ryan Rogers returns to the podcast for our third conversation. He's an addictions counselor in Texas, host of Reality Therapy, and now the author of two books — The Woke Mind and his new release, The Carpenter's Recovery, a Christian guide to 12-step recovery. We start with what's being called "gas station heroin": a chemical called 7-OH, extracted from kratom, that's roughly thirteen times stronger than morphine and sold legally next to the 5-Hour Energy drinks at the checkout counter. Ryan walks me through how legal loopholes have produced a generation of accidental addicts, including church kids and high-conscientiousness adults who'd never touch illegal drugs. I share my own "little old lady" story — how my elderly mom was given a 10mg THC gummy by her stoner massage therapist — as a warning to anyone navigating this new landscape with vulnerable elders. From there we go into cannabis-induced psychosis, cannabis use hyperemesis disorder, fentanyl displacing heroin, and what's actually working in addiction treatment. Ryan explains why he wrote a Christian recovery book and why naming Jesus in AA meetings still gets people shut down. We close on the state of the therapy field: woke ideology, AI psychosis, the rise of niche experts over licensed therapists, and why "live your truth, king" is the worst possible response to a client telling you they're about to relapse.Follow Reality Therapy podcast | Follow Ryan on X @ryanmcrogers[00:00:00] Start[00:02:06] Gas Station Heroin: What Is 7-OH?[00:05:55] Kava, Feel Free, and Designer Drugs[00:11:25] How 7-OH Hits the Opioid System[00:14:30] The Little Old Lady THC Gummy Story[00:25:30] Methadone vs. Suboxone for Detox[00:35:56] The Carpenter's Recovery: A Christian Approach[00:40:32] Why AA Pushes Back on Christianity[00:48:15] Reality Therapy and the State of the Field[00:53:42] AI Psychosis and the Future of Therapy[00:58:40] Tough Love and "Live Your Truth, King"[01:04:30] Honoring Who Teenagers Are BecomingROGD REPAIR Course + Community gives concerned parents instant access to over 120 lessons providing the psychological insights and communication tools you need to get through to your kid. Pat Riley's demanding leadership style takes center stage as Joe Rose and Dave Hyde discuss how the Heat president has never been afraid to challenge his players with tough love, and why that approach has become far less common in today's sports landscape. The guys revisit the Jimmy Butler saga in Miami, examine how Riley handled the situation, and also look back at the Heat's decision to bench Kel'el Ware despite his obvious potential, debating the balance between player development, accountability, and maintaining the organization's championship culture.

Tonight we're taking a closer look at the growing debate over empathy, compassion, and whether good intentions can sometimes produce disastrous results. From John C. Reilly's viral comments about empathy as a "superpower" to the increasing inability for people to disagree on anything. We'll also examine modern parenting, discipline, peaceful parenting philosophies, and ask whether a culture built entirely around feelings is creating stronger people—or more fragile ones. FILM FESTIVAL TICKETS: https://buytickets.at/thedopeyfoundation/2216905 PATREON: www.patreon.com/dopeypodcast Summary: This week on the Wednesday Dose of Dopey, Dave marks eight years since the death of his close friend Todd Curry, who died from a fentanyl overdose. To honor Todd's memory, Dave brings on Todd's sister, Allie Curry, for a deeply personal conversation about grief, family, addiction, denial, and what it feels like to lose someone so loved, complicated, funny, and unforgettable. Before the conversation, Dave shares updates about the Knicks championship, the upcoming Dopey Short Film Festival, Patreon Zooms, Narcan and fentanyl test strips, and reads a classic Dopey story about winning free Detroit Tigers tickets, scamming free t-shirts, smoking crack behind a dumpster, trying to go to Canada, and getting banned from the country. Then Dave and Allie talk about Todd's life, his Dopey appearances, his humor, his family role, his addiction, and the strange pain of remembering someone eight years later. Allie reflects on how Todd's birthday can feel harder than the anniversary of his death, how her kids remember him, how her parents handled his addiction and death, and how family denial and shame shaped so much of the experience. Dave remembers Todd as one of the foundational characters in Dopey history: the friend who called into the show without knowing he was being recorded, the hilarious storyteller, the hustler, the lost soul, and the person whose pain and charm became part of the show's DNA. Together, Dave and Allie explore the impossible questions around enabling, tough love, interventions, family secrets, and the strange ways grief stays alive. It's a bittersweet episode about keeping people alive by remembering them, telling the truth, laughing when possible, and honoring the people we lost to addiction. All that and more on the new Dopey! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
What 23 Multimillionaire Founders Have in Common The women doing eight and nine figures? They started exactly where you are. I just spent a weekend with 23 of them and came home with three things I've been too polite to say. If you've been putting in the hours and the results still don't reflect it, at least one of these three is going to explain why. RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Revenue highs are exciting. The unexplainable dips that follow? Not so much. If you are a female founder making six figures or more annually, the problem isn't that things aren't working. It's that you can't yet see what is. And you can't repeat what you can't see. My Free Live Training fixes that. Click here to join. High-six-figures is a ceiling for a reason. What got you here stops working here. If you're a female founder earning $500K or more annually and you've already tried it all, what you need next isn't another strategy. It's someone inside your business showing you the way forward. The Milly Club is my private six-month coaching program for women growing toward their first million. Apply here.
