12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said,“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.Hebrews 3:12-19BETTER DELIVERERTherefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, 2 who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God's house. 3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4 (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) 5 Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, 6 but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.Hebrews 3:12-19“They shall not enter my rest.”6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on.Hebrews 3:12-19Green Day - American Idiot “Don't want to be an…”Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the Name “I won't do what you tell me”JONATHAN EDWARDS(photo)70 Resolutions by Jonathan EdwardsResolution one: “I will live for God.”Resolution two: “If no one else does, I still will.”Resolution six:“I won't live halfway — I'm going all in while I have time.”Resolution seven: “I'm going to live now the way I'll wish I had at the end of my life.”Deliverance: the action of being rescued or set freeDeliverance is not a transition from something bad to something neutral, it's going from some bad to something good.According to Morris, the ancient Rabbis considered Moses to be the greatest man ever, greater than the angels. The writer to the Hebrews does nothing to criticize Moses.David Guzik7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,“Today, if you hear his voice,8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,9 where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years.10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.'11 As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.'”12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. Hebrews 3:7-12What they did —> What that shows us about God —> The outcomeMoses - (OUT)What Moses did: freed God's people from 400 years of oppressionWhat that shows us about God: God cares deeply about rescuing us from our burdens16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.Hebrews 4:16The Outcome: It was not enough for themJoshua - (IN)What Joshua did: Brought God's people into the Promise Land after 40 years of wanderingWhat that shows us about God: God cares deeply about fulfilling our desiresThe Outcome: It was not enough for them19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.Hebrews 3:15-19One can truly believe God, yet be occasionally troubled by doubts. There is a doubt that wants God's promise but is weak in faith at the moment. Unbelief isn't weakness of faith; it sets itself in opposition to faith.David GuzikYour unbelief is your fault, not your misfortune.Charles Spurgeon6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.Hebrews 4:6-10Jesus - (NOW)What Jesus did: Paid for sin with His own life once and for all. What that shows us about God: What God cares most about is our DEEPEST good.“Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger: well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water. Men feel sexual desire: well, there is such a thing as sex. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not prove that the universe is a fraud. Probably earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing. If that is so, I must take care, on the one hand, never to despise, or be unthankful for, these earthly blessings, and on the other, never to mistake them for the something else of which they are only a kind of copy, or echo, or mirage. I must keep alive in myself the desire for my true country, which I shall not find till after death; I must never let it get snowed under or turned aside; I must make it the main object of life to press on to that other country and to help others do the same.”C.S. Hello Beautiful, I'm so grateful you're here with me.
In this shiur, delivered in North Woodmere, Rav Burg explains how a Jew is capable of saying Naaseh V'Nishma. When we tap into our Ratzon Elyon is when we are truly passionate about life.

Was there a FAILED attempted coup in Beijing? When purges happen at the top in China, it's rarely about loyalty failing overnight. It's about perceptions shifting—and Guānxì (关系) no longer being enough.Recent earth-shattering removals of Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli aren't just political headlines. They're reminders of a rule foreigners often miss:In China, relationships open doors—but they don't shield you when power dynamics realign. My experiences are a microcosm and can be an invaluable lesson for those venturing inside the Chinese arena, "Is Guānxì Enough? What if humanity's greatest strength — rational thought — is also the source of our deepest disconnection? In his book "How The Rational Mind Repressed The Emotional Mind Into Submission Once We Got The Spoken Word", engineer, philosopher, and systems thinker Chet Shupe explores how emotional intelligence once guided human life — and how the rise of language, laws, and rational systems slowly displaced that ancient wisdom. Drawing on evolutionary insight, psychology, spirituality, and cultural reflection, Shupe challenges the assumption that reason alone should govern human behavior. We discuss: How emotional intelligence shaped early human connection The hidden cost of civilization and social systems The origins of shame, disconnection, and spiritual mistrust What it means to rediscover emotional wisdom in the modern world Shupe's work invites us to question long-held beliefs about progress, morality, and belonging — not with easy answers, but with deep reflection and human compassion. This is a powerful conversation for anyone who feels something essential has been lost — and is searching for what it truly means to be human.AMAZONhttps://www.spiritualfreedompress.com/http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/kccs.mp3

In 2017, Victor completed the “Explorer's Grand Slam” which requires climbing the highest peak on all seven of the world's continents including Mt. Everest and skiing at least 100 kilometers to the North and South Poles. He piloted the first repeated dives to the ocean's deepest point, Challenger Deep, in the Pacific's Mariana Trench -- now fifteen times, and in August 2019 became the first person to visit “The Five Deeps,” the deepest point in all five of the world's oceans. Victor has now personally explored the bottom of seventeen deep ocean trenches and has made three dives to the Titanic including the only solo dive ever made there. He and his team also discovered and surveyed the two deepest shipwrecks in the world: the USS Johnston in 2021 and the deepest, the USS Samuel B. Roberts at 22,600 feet, in 2022. In 2025, the US Navy announced that T-AGOS 26, a new ocean surveillance vessel of the Explorer class, would be named after him.He is also a commercially rated, multi-engine jet, seaplane, and helicopter pilot, a certified submersible test pilot, and recently flew into space on Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, becoming the first person in history to climb Mount Everest, dive to the bottom of the ocean, and visit space.Victor received his bachelor's degree from Stanford University, a Master's Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and received an MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar. Additionally, Victor served 20 years in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an intelligence and targeting officer, retiring in 2013 as a Commander.Support this Podcast: buy me a coffeeHosted by Michael J. B"H On Tu Bishvat, we're reminded that people are meant to be like trees. In Hebrew, eitzah (guidance) shares its root with eitz (tree). Real guidance comes from being rooted, from listening deeply, and from speaking with care and timing. May we grow strong roots and bear fruit that helps others connect to the depths of their souls. Here's my 2002 conversation with SHARON SALZBERG, co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society on her book, FAITH: TRUSTING YOUR OWN DEEPEST EXPERIENCE. Sharon is a New Yorker, and the book is her response to the experience of 9/11. Seems like it might be helpful in our current dark time. Faith in what? Where do we place our faith when the US is beset by cruel authoritarianism and the world by multiple wars and climate driven disasters? Is faith today painfully naive or absolutely necessary in order to fight on?Sharon Salzberg 07-16-2002 Transcript
Do new UAP sightings mean alien contact is imminent? Lue Elizondo is a former U.S. Army counterintelligence special agent and a former senior intelligence officer for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. With decades of experience in national security, he conducted and supervised clandestine operations worldwide, specializing in counterterrorism, espionage, and advanced aerospace threats. He is best known for his role as the former head of the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), where he investigated unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and pushed for greater transparency on non-human intelligence (NHI). In this show, Elizondo reveals the existence of a decades-long “Legacy Program”—a covert operation investigating unidentified aerial phenomena that operated without congressional oversight for more than 80 years. This isn't about blurry lights in the sky. It's about crash retrievals, exotic materials, and physical craft allegedly in U.S. possession dating back to Roswell and beyond, quietly studied by the military-industrial complex while the public was fed weather balloon and swamp gas cover stories. He describes the Cold War you never learned about—not just a race to the moon, but a race to reverse-engineer technology so advanced it makes nuclear weapons look primitive. Then comes the phrase that changed everything: “non-human biologics.” The conversation shifted from metal to flesh. Not drones—occupants. Craft that were piloted. Pilots that didn't survive. The science is even more unsettling. These UAPs demonstrate capabilities that defy known physics: instantaneous acceleration, hypersonic speed without sonic booms, and right-angle turns that would liquefy a human body. The implication? They may not be “traveling” at all—but warping space-time itself, moving inside a gravitational bubble. And what if they aren't coming from far away? Elizondo weighs theories that these entities may be interdimensional, not extraterrestrial—originating not light-years away, but right here, just beyond our perceptual bandwidth. While we smash particles at CERN to glimpse the fabric of reality, these craft appear to move through it. From the Tic Tac incident, to swarms over Langley Air Force Base, to a recent triangle-shaped craft sighting over Area 51, the phenomenon is becoming more visible, more aggressive, and harder to dismiss. Elizondo's message—echoed in the title of his book, Imminent—is clear: the clock is ticking. If contact is coming, the real question isn't whether we're ready technologically—but whether we're ready socially, psychologically, and spiritually. A relationship with a non-human intelligence wouldn't mean trade agreements. Elizondo explains what it could mean for a fundamental rewrite of physics, religion, power, and humanity's place in the universe. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Are the invisible emotional patterns from your past the real reason you're stuck in your health or relationships? In this episode, Bizzie Gold and I explore why so many of us stay stuck in patterns that no longer serve us, and why that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you. We unpack how early conditioning shapes perception, behavior, and self-deception, and how those patterns can be decoded and rewritten at any age. Bizzie brings a refreshingly direct, data-driven perspective that challenges traditional mental-health narratives and opens the door to real, lasting change. Bizzie Gold is a behavior futurist and serial entrepreneur who's not afraid to challenge what we've been told about mental health. She created the Break Method to decode brain patterns and help people stop circling their pain and finally change for good. What you'll learn: (02:05) Why repeating the same behaviors doesn't mean you're broken, but programmed. (05:30) How childhood environments create predictable patterns in perception and behavior. (09:05) Why objective truth is nearly impossible, and how brain patterns distort reality. (14:20) How the “right amount” of early adversity can build resilience and self-trust. (20:40) What brain pattern mapping reveals about self-deception and decision-making. (26:30) How stress and exhaustion pull you back into old behavioral defaults. (32:35) Why opposites attract, and how brain patterns shape relationships. (45:10) Practical ways to interrupt unhealthy patterns and create lasting change. Love the podcast? In this episode of the Exploring More podcast, Michael Thompson and SJ Jennings launch a powerful new series called Father Matters—an eight-part journey into the heart of fatherhood, sonship, and legacy. Inspired by the final chapters of Michael's book King Me, the series invites men to examine their fathering stories: how they were fathered, how they father now, and how their relationship with God the Father can transform both. Michael and SJ walk through the first few themes of the devotional—beginning with the foundational idea that we are sons before we are fathers. The conversation explores the tension between presence and performance, the impact of blessing and naming identity, and the need to initiate—not just manage—our children's experiences. From making repairs to setting boundaries to letting go, each session of Father Matters invites deep reflection and courageous conversations. As Michael shares, the way we were fathered influences how we lead, protect, and love. This episode is a personal and practical start to a series that calls men to heal old wounds, live from their restored identity, and leave a meaningful legacy.
This episode offers Part 2 of our exploration of the gospel of Luke through the lens of the question that John the Baptist asked Jesus in Luke 7:19: “Are you the one, or should we look for someone else?”(Make sure to have listened to Episode 427 before tuning in to this one).Today, we're asking this question of ourselves, our own lives, and our own hearts: Is Jesus truly the One our hearts desire? This begs a second question: if, as Christians, we've answered yes, then does our life reflect our stated priority? So, we examine the evidence of Jesus' identity through:· Scripture: A thorough study of Luke's firsthand accounts and prophecies.· Lives of Others: Observing faith's impact in people around us.· Personal Reflection: Identifying if we're filling the “God-shaped hole” with substitutes.· Asking God Directly: Inviting honest, personal encounter.Luke's narrative highlights three responses to Jesus, which inform our own possible response:· Unbelief (Nazareth): Viewing Jesus as a lunatic.· Rejection (Pharisees): Accusing Jesus of deception—a liar.· Faith (The woman who anoints Jesus): Trusting Jesus as Lord. So, which will it be for you and me? The choice is ours – for salvation, but also throughout our lives. We get to choose to follow Jesus every single day.Through Luke, we are issued a challenge: Seek Jesus, not just as a distant historical figure, but as the One who knows us fully and loves us perfectly. The journey is ongoing—keep pursuing deeper relationship, letting Him fill what only He can.Reflection:Who is Jesus to you? Lunatic, liar, or Lord? The answer shapes your identity, faith, and future. The invitation is to make Him your One—day after day, every day.We invite you to check out the first episode of each of our series, and decide which one you will want to start with.Go to gospelspice.com for more, and go especially to gospelspice.com/podcast to enjoy our guests! She is a MacArthur Fellow and has received the National Humanities Medal of the US, the National Jewish Book Award, and numerous other honors. Her latest book is The Mattering Instinct: How Our Deepest Longing Drives Us and Divides Us. In this episode, we focus on The Mattering Instinct. We start by discussing what it is to matter, the mattering instinct, the social aspects of mattering, and four mattering types: socializers, transcenders, competitors, and heroic strivers. We talk about cosmic and biological mattering. We discuss whether mattering can be universalized, and an objective standard to distinguish between better and worse ways to respond to the mattering instinct. Finally, we talk about nihilism and absurdism, and whether the unexamined life is worth living.--A HUGE THANK YOU TO MY PATRONS/SUPPORTERS: PER HELGE LARSEN, BERNARDO SEIXAS, ADAM KESSEL, MATTHEW WHITINGBIRD, ARNAUD WOLFF, TIM HOLLOSY, HENRIK AHLENIUS, ROBERT WINDHAGER, RUI INACIO, ZOOP, MARCO NEVES, COLIN HOLBROOK, PHIL KAVANAGH, SAMUEL ANDREEFF, FRANCIS FORDE, TIAGO NUNES, FERGAL CUSSEN, HAL HERZOG, NUNO MACHADO, JONATHAN LEIBRANT, JOÃO LINHARES, STANTON T, SAMUEL CORREA, ERIK HAINES, MARK SMITH, JOÃO EIRA, TOM HUMMEL, SARDUS FRANCE, DAVID SLOAN WILSON, YACILA DEZA-ARAUJO, ROMAIN ROCH, YANICK PUNTER, CHARLOTTE BLEASE, NICOLE BARBARO, ADAM HUNT, PAWEL OSTASZEWSKI, NELLEKE BAK, GUY MADISON, GARY G HELLMANN, SAIMA AFZAL, ADRIAN JAEGGI, PAULO TOLENTINO, JOÃO BARBOSA, JULIAN PRICE, HEDIN BRØNNER, FRANCA BORTOLOTTI, GABRIEL PONS CORTÈS, URSULA LITZCKE, SCOTT, ZACHARY FISH, TIM DUFFY, SUNNY SMITH, JON WISMAN, WILLIAM BUCKNER, LUKE GLOWACKI, GEORGIOS THEOPHANOUS, CHRIS WILLIAMSON, PETER WOLOSZYN, DAVID WILLIAMS, DIOGO COSTA, ALEX CHAU, CORALIE CHEVALLIER, BANGALORE ATHEISTS, LARRY D. This week, I speak with Kimberly Haar, who is a licensed therapist, author, and speaker with nearly two decades of experience in trauma recovery and marriage and family therapy. Blending clinical insight with deep faith, she helps others move from pain to purpose. Drawing from her own story of healing, Kimberly shares a message of hope and restoration, reminding others that with God, no story is too shattered to be rewritten, and no life too broken to be beautifully restored. We look at her childhood up to the present to see the beautiful thread of Jesus in her life. Friends, why has the story of the Epiphany—the three wise man paying homage to the Christ child—so captivated us over the centuries? I think, in some ways, it tells the whole spiritual life: our infinite longing that will never be satisfied here below; the following of beautiful but ambiguous signs in our quest for God; and the revelation that the one we seek has all along been seeking us—and, in the fullness of time, has come in person to meet us.
The Future Commerce team reflects on their favorite podcast moments from a year of extraordinary conversations. From haunted dolls and architectural rhizomes to debates about capitalism and idealism, these episodes challenged conventional wisdom about how brands influence culture and why efficiency alone won't save us. Country artist Conner Smith joins Brooke Taylor and co-host Pastor Mark Evans on The Upload for his first in-depth conversation since the tragic accident that made headlines this past summer. Known for hits like “I Hate Alabama,” and “Creek Will Rise,” Conner has quickly risen through the country music ranks—touring festivals, releasing his debut album, and building a loyal fanbase. But behind the momentum was a season of profound heartbreak. On the final day of CMA Fest, just one day after taking the Riverfront Stage, Conner was involved in a devastating accident that took a life. In this episode, he opens up with honesty and humility about the grief, trauma, and deep soul-searching that followed, and how the Lord became his anchor when the world around him collapsed. Conner shares how God met him in the shock and silence, the community that rallied around him, and the spiritual “crushing and stripping” that has reshaped him in ways he never expected. He talks about learning to trust God in the valley, surrendering the weight he can’t carry alone, and how the peace he has today is only because of the presence of Christ in the darkest hours. This is a powerful conversation about suffering, healing, and the God who restores what feels shattered beyond repair. Follow The Upload:
