Lake St Clair, nestled within Tasmania's Wilderness World Heritage area, was formed by glaciers over millions of years. Though it is nearly twice as deep as Bass Strait and recognised as Australia's deepest lake, it had never been fully mapped, until now. CSIRO scientists have created the first 3-D map of its underwater terrain, revealing the true scale and depth of this natural wonder. Residents describe the lake as pristine, offering a 'truly breathtaking view'.

The intermediate students know that Jonah fled rather than to obey God by going to Nineveh. In this series you are becoming part of the Advanced Placement class by learning the depths of the value of this unique book of the Bible. We left off with Jonah having been swallowed by the fish God appointed for the task (see 1:15-17). Chapter 2 is the prayer Jonah prayed from inside the fish. We'll look at the whole prayer – only 10 verses – then make some observations about it. 1 - Focus On God 2 - Be Honest About Your Trial 3 - Do What God Wants

The Deepest healing of the Mother Line I've ever experienced. I reconnected with my mother, who passed away when I was 17 yrs old. Connecting to my ancestral line and all of the women who felt disrespected, under supported, and under-resourced as mothers and women. Feeling in my body the great disrespect to the Earth.  We are not separate from the earth. We deeply need to come back to our hearts and souls. What one does to another is not separate, we ALL feel it, and she feels it (The Great Mother).  The Climate crisis is also collective trauma, violence, and divisiveness. Looking at thought patterns and the relationship with my mind. The Divine Timing of Things. The ineffable experience of working with this medicine. Bliss and loving dance with the divine. All of the information that came through – this life, past lives, and future. I felt home – it was a deep REMEMBRANCE OF COMING HOME. All of the love I felt and received. Receiving and experiencing love at such a depth and allowing it in.  Feeling deeply into self-love. We are all so loved by the divine and we are all inherently worthy beings.   Breathing, Trusting, and Surrendering to life and the overwhelming moments in ceremony. Merging with the matrix of the universe, no time and no space, I died, the Eternal Space Between (no birth and no death).  The terror and beauty in that. Wild to experience while being alive in a body. Grandmother Ayahuasca spoke to me in moments of overwhelm.  "Come back to your breath. Come back to your heart." The power of remembering who you REALLY ARE. It is a miracle to be alive. To be human is to learn and relearn the lesson of letting go, forgiveness, and love. We co-create with the universe. Don't forget the power of your breath.

This Advent, we are presented with a most extraordinary grace. Our own parish will host a first-class relic — that is, an actual fragment of the body — of the Church's newest saint, Carlo Acutis, this coming Saturday, November 22nd, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Only weeks ago, in the grandeur of St. Peter's Basilica, before tens of thousands gathered in solemn joy, Pope Leo XIV declared this young fifteen-year-old, a bright spirit of the digital age, to be among the company of the saints. And now, through the kindness of his own mother, this sacred relic has been entrusted to us here in Vacaville. A touch of sanctity will be arriving here, in our very own town.To modern ears, the veneration of relics may sound curious, even unsettling. It's one of those ancient customs that is at the same time bizarre, unique, and wildly weird about the Catholic faith. Yet the practice reaches back to the dawn of Christianity, when believers gathered at the tombs of martyrs not to worship bones, but to draw near to the holiness that God had kindled in them. They understood that grace leaves its mark; the human body, once filled with the Spirit, is not discarded like a shell but honored as a vessel that once bore divine fire. To venerate the saints, then, is not to cling to superstition, but to glimpse, through them, what God intends for us all: that our very flesh might become radiant with His glory. The first Christians knew well that the saints were men and women of dust, as frail and fallible as themselves. Yet in them they saw what grace could do. The martyrs in the amphitheatre, singing even as the beasts approached, were not displaying their own courage — they were displaying Christ's triumph in human weakness. The ascetics in the desert, fasting and praying in solitude, were not exalting human will, but the will surrendered utterly to God. To venerate such lives was not to worship them, but to honor the Artist whose skill could carve holiness out of ordinary stone. If we are wise, we will learn from this ancient instinct. For the Christian life is not meant to be a solitary ascent, a lone pilgrim trudging toward a distant summit. It is rather a great procession of souls, each carrying the light a little farther, each learning from the glow of the one before. When we remember the saints, we are reminded that sanctity is not beyond us. We are meant, in some measure, to become like them.In truth, the saints are not competitors with Christ but His masterpieces. To honor them is to praise the grace that made them what they are. We can rejoice that the same grace that made holy is offered to us, here and now. This November 22nd, we can honor one of our brothers who made it home to Heaven, right here in Vacaville. I invite all of you to come for this special opportunity! --- Help Spread the Good News --- Father Brian's homilies are shared freely thanks to generous listeners like you. Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1841"Right where the pain is, is the portal of entry." - Dr. Lisa MillerDr. Lisa Miller knows what it feels like to have your heart completely shattered. At 19, sitting with a pain so heavy in her chest she could barely breathe, she asked the most dangerous question someone in despair can ask: Is love even real? And if love isn't real, is God? That brutal honesty—that willingness to sit in the wreckage of a broken heart and question everything—became the doorway to understanding something revolutionary about human suffering. Through decades of research in neuroscience and psychology, she discovered what her own pain had been trying to tell her: depression isn't always the enemy we think it is. For over two-thirds of young adults, that crushing weight isn't a chemical malfunction to be medicated away—it's a spiritual alarm clock, banging on the door of your soul, demanding you wake up to a deeper way of living. This conversation will shift how you see your own struggles. Lisa reveals why that restlessness you feel—the sense that your relationship, your career, your entire life just doesn't fit anymore—might not mean you need to blow everything up and start over. Sometimes the answer isn't out there in a bigger job or different partner. It's an invitation to go inward, to discover the spiritual dimension of yourself that's been hungry for something more meaningful all along. She walks through the three unavoidable bridges we all cross (early adulthood, midlife, and our elder years) where these questions become impossible to ignore, and shares exactly how to recognize when your pain is actually propelling you toward awakening rather than destruction.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Welcome to Restoring the Soul with Michael John Cusick. On today's episode, Michael sits down with fellow intensive therapist Brian Boecker for an honest, heartfelt conversation about the universal human longing to belong. Inspired by Michael's recent talk at the Connections Conference in Washington, D.C., the discussion explores how belonging shapes our sense of self, impacts our relationships, and is deeply tied to spiritual themes found in scripture—especially in Jesus' teachings on prayer.Through personal stories, reflections on the Lord's Prayer, and insights from attachment theory, Michael and Brian unpack what it means to be at home with ourselves, others, and God. They wrestle with vulnerability, shame, and the courage it takes to truly let ourselves be seen. Drawing on poems, psychology, and biblical wisdom, this episode invites listeners to consider how authentic belonging not only leads to healing but also to genuine transformation.Support the showENGAGE THE RESTORING THE SOUL PODCAST:- Follow us on YouTube - Tweet us at @michaeljcusick and @PodcastRTS- Like us on Facebook- Follow us on Instagram & Twitter- Follow Michael on Twitter- Email us at info@restoringthesoul.com Thanks for listening!

Dr. Emily Adlam is a philosopher of quantum physics who has just finished a book about the strangest feature of fundamental physics - the perennial confusion over what it means to make a measurement. We all know that quantum physics tells us that there's this strange thing, called wavefunction collapse, which transitions a system from being in a quantum state into being in a classical state. But what does it mean to make a measurement? And what does it mean to turn a system from a quantum one into a classical one? It turns out that no one really knows, and we spend this conversation trying to figure out how that could be possible, after more than a century of theorizing about the foundations of reality. In this powerful interview, Carla sits down with Hannah to talk about the raw, unfiltered process of healing from trauma, eating disorders, and deep emotional pain. Hannah opens up about growing up in a Christian home, struggling silently with mental health, and the night she almost gave up hope. But God met her there - turning her pain into a story of redemption and purpose. Together, Carla and Hannah unpack how faith and vulnerability intersect in healing, why honesty in prayer matters more than performance, and how hope can coexist with suffering. In today's episode, I'm sharing something truly powerful that's been unfolding for me lately: how much of our lives are run by fear, even when we think we've outgrown it. After attending another Joe Dispenza event and spending a few solo days in reflection, I had some profound realizations about control, surrender, and what it really means to operate from abundance instead of protection. I'm sharing the exercises, breakthroughs, and uncomfortable truths that surfaced, and inviting you to look at where fear might still be quietly running the show in your own life and business.

Send us a textGrief rewires a life. Hope rewrites a story. We sit down with Hannah to trace both realities—starting with the ultrasound that shifted their world and moving through months of waiting, praying, and holding two truths at once: God can do a miracle, and we may still need to say goodbye. Noah's 57 and a half hours become a lens for what goodness looks like when outcomes are devastating yet gifts are undeniable—arms full, family gathered, and time granted just before the world closed for a pandemic. We open up about the phrases that helped (“This is so hard, and I'm sorry”) and the ones that didn't, the difference between digital connection and real presence, and why fixing isn't the same as loving. Hannah shares the family motto—“Even though, we will”—and how it pushes back against an entitlement mindset that confuses faith with the promise of comfort. Her image from the Smoky Mountains lingers: fog settles in valleys, but from higher ground you see how that fog gives depth and makes the view possible. Suffering becomes terrain, not identity. The story doesn't end there. Years later, their eldest son, Walker, is diagnosed with genetic epilepsy. Hannah admits what many of us feel: “I've suffered enough.” Instead of shutting down, she brings that honesty to God and finds a deeper, steadier trust—one shaped by the cross, the long view of Ephesians 2:10, and the daily choice to keep walking. If you're carrying loss, living with uncertainty, or wrestling with God's goodness, this conversation offers practical comfort, sturdy faith, and a way forward that doesn't require perfect answers—just presence and a next step.If this episode meets you in the valley, share it with someone who needs company on the trail. Some podcast apps may not display links from our show notes properly, so we have included a list of links at the end of this description. * In Dr. John J. Prendergast's decades of experience as a psychotherapist and spiritual teacher, the area of the body that's most difficult for people to connect with—given our survival fear and trauma—is our physical and energetic ground. In his work, he finds this area in the lower belly and at the base of the spine remains largely unconscious and deeply defended by most individuals, while most spiritual traditions tend to avoid or undervalue the opening of the ground. * However, with the correct understanding and quality of attention, we can consciously open our multidimensional ground and, as a result, experience a felt-sense of inner safety and stability that supports the full flowering of inner peace, freedom, and loving awareness—a truly embodied spirituality. * In this episode, Dr. Prendergast is joined in a conversation with CIIS core faculty in the graduate department of East-West Psychology Dr. Sara Max Granovetter that dives deep into our personal, archetypal, and universal ground. Sharing insights from his years working in sensing and inquiry practices as well as his latest book, Your Deepest Ground, Dr. Prendergast explains how we can begin to see through the false ground of our early conditioning and limited identity. * This episode was recorded during an in-person and live streamed event at California Institute of Integral Studies on May 29th, 2025. Read OnlineOnce when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” Luke 9:18It's interesting that Jesus was both “praying in solitude” and that “the disciples were with him.” Saint Bede explains this apparent contradiction by stating that “the Son alone is able to penetrate the incomprehensible secrets of the Father's will.” Therefore, our Lord was always alone with the Father in the sense that only Jesus knew the Father fully and intimately. This is because He is the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, the Eternal Son of the Father. With that fact clearly understood, it's also important to understand that as Jesus prayed to the Father within His human nature, something new took place. Though Jesus was eternally with the Father, His human nature was not eternally with the Father. Therefore, as the Eternal Son of God communed with the Eternal Father while living in human flesh, human nature was suddenly elevated to a height that it had never been before. Not only was the Eternal Son living in perfect union with the Father, but now the Eternal Son, fully human, brought His human nature into this oneness.Though this may seem a bit philosophical to some, it points to a very important reality that affects us all. Through our Lord's human prayer to the Father, we are all invited to join with Jesus and share in this divine oneness. The Son of God, as a human being, made it possible for us as humans to share in the elevation of our very lives to oneness with God the Father. And though the Son of God will always retain a unique union with the Father, we are, nonetheless, by participation, invited to share in their life. So why is this important? One reason is that there is no greater human fulfillment we could ever achieve than to share in the prayer of the Son to the Father. Throughout our lives, we are constantly looking for fulfillment in one form or another. We want to be happy. We want enjoyment in life. We have a natural desire for happiness that we are constantly seeking to fulfill. What's important to understand is that the greatest happiness comes by sharing in the deep human prayer of the Son to the Father. Prayer, true prayer, is the answer to our deepest desire.Reflect, today, upon whether or not you regularly engage in deep prayer. Can you point to times when you, like our Lord, were alone with God, communing with Him in the depths of your human soul, being drawn to Him through prayer? There are many levels of prayer, as is attested to by many saints. Make the choice to deepen your prayer. Go before our Lord today and pour out your heart to Him, asking Him to draw you into the holy solitude of His prayer to the Father. Doing so will bring forth in you the deepest human satisfaction possible in life. My praying Lord, as You spent time alone with the Father, You united Your human nature with Him, thus elevating our nature to a glorious degree. Please draw me to You, dear Lord, so that I may know You and the Father through true, deep and sustaining prayer. May this oneness with You be the cause of my deepest fulfillment in life. “I still haven't got over that Super Bowl, I have yet to watch that game through because it's that painful and I was that close to getting my ring. I hate the Super Bowl. I hate February.” Charles "Peanut" Tillman On this episode of The Pivot Podcast, former NFL star Charles "Peanut" Tillman joins Ryan, Channing, and Fred for an unforgettable conversation that goes far beyond the football field. Known for his legendary "Peanut Punch" and Pro Bowl career with the Chicago Bears, Tillman opens up about the highs and lows of life in the NFL, the mental grind of competition, and what truly defined his time on the gridiron. He shares how it's still difficult to think about coming up short in two Super Bowls and how it pains him to this day to watch football in February. He takes the guys through his infamous career, some of his legendary plays and how he was the only player close to reaching a historic NFL milestone, of the 40/40 club with 44 forced fumbles and two picks short of 40 interceptions.  But his story didn't end with football. In a tremendous pivot of honor, Peanut talks about his decision to join the FBI after NFL retirement—a rare and inspiring path for a professional athlete. He shares what drove him to serve in a completely different arena, the challenges of the transition, and how discipline and purpose continue to shape his life. Growing up with his father in the military, he always had a passion to serve the country and joining the bureau was his way to make an impact. But recent changes and demands in protecting the homeland led Peanut to abruptly leave the FBI after eight years of service, which he opens up on and shares why for the first time.  Peanut also reflects on the most important role he's ever played: being a father. He gets deeply personal about his family, including the emotional journey with his daughter's health, and how that experience changed his entire perspective on life, love, and prayer. Fred deems his storytelling as his favorite share in our Pivot history.  The guys wrap up talking ball, sharing career moments and reminisce he plays we never live down!
