In today's episode, Kelly Jean guides us through an exploration inspired by the work of Gregg Braden — scientist, researcher, and visionary — whose teachings bridge science, spirituality, and human potential in extraordinary ways. The Pure Human WithinWhat does it really mean to be a “Pure Human” in our modern world? Are we limited by our biology … or are we far more capable than we've ever been taught?Drawing from Braden's latest book, Pure Human: The Hidden Truth of Our Divinity, Power, and Destiny, this reflection invites us to reconsider who we are — and what we are truly capable of.Key ConceptsWe Are More Than BiologyBraden describes humans as “soft technology” — beings wired for intuition, creativity, healing, and inner intelligence. We are not only responding to life…we are shaping it.Heart–Brain CoherenceOne of Braden's central insights is coherence — the harmonious alignment between the heart and the brain. This coherence becomes measurable when we experience compassion, gratitude, or genuine care. When the heart shifts, the entire nervous system shifts. The body reorganizes into harmony. The electromagnetic field changes — subtly shaping the world around us.This is where Reiki beautifully aligns with Braden's research:Quieting the mind.Opening the heart.Allowing energy to flow with intention.A physiological and spiritual coherence.Peace is not something we wait for.It is something we generate.Excerpt from Pure Human (Chapter 4: Awakening Our Superpowers)Kelly Jean shares Gregg Braden's discussion of the “little brain in the heart” — the 40,000 sensory neurites discovered in 1991 that form a sophisticated neural network. This research shows that the heart is not simply a pump. It is a center of intelligence, intuition, memory, and communication. When we shift our inner state, even slightly, we unlock creative potential, clarity, healing, and connection. The “Pure Human” is not something we become someday. It is the awakened version of who we already are.Guided ReflectionKelly Jean invites listeners into a simple practice:• Place a hand on your heart• Take a slow inhale• Exhale softly• Feel the rhythm• Sense coherence rising withinThis subtle alignment of heart and mind becomes a small, steady practice of peace — something we can carry throughout our day.Thank you for joining this moment of connection, curiosity, and coherence — and for giving yourself 5 Minutes of Peace. To learn more about The Peace Room, our Reiki treatments, trainings, and workshops, visit:www.ThePeaceRoom.loveJoin us again whenever you need…5 Minutes of Peace.

Ever felt like something was “just not right” even when nothing is wrong? Psychologists call these Not Just Right Experiences (NJREs)—a subtle but powerful force behind OCD and OCPD. Learn what they are, why they matter, and how to manage them before they hijack your peace of mind.
In this Day 5 teaching, Pastor Azizah Morrison leads listeners into the discipline of stillness and inner grounding during consecration. Drawing from Isaiah 30:15, this lesson reveals how strength is restored not through striving, but through quietness and confidence before God. The teaching addresses internal noise, mental urgency, and spiritual overstimulation, and calls believers back to a posture where clarity, discernment, and strength are renewed. The lesson concludes with a prayer inviting God to quiet the inner life and reestablish spiritual footing for the journey ahead.
This moment... this New Year... disturbs many. I want to share a disturbing moment from my autistic youth—and how I survived it. It weirdly relates to right now.At 70-something, this is the happiest time of my autistic life. Not chasing distant goals—just breathing in this fabulous moment here. This piece inverts Yeats' “Second Coming” to tell a personal story about my grandfather, sailing out to Montauk Point, and discovering that the anxiety of losing sight of shore gives way to something unexpected.Content Note: This piece addresses troubling family history and inherited complexity. My grandfather was a complex man who kept Mein Kampf in his nightstand. And who also took me sailing. Out on the water to Montauk Point, I'd experience overwhelming anxiety as we lost sight of shore. Just sky, waves, constant rolling. Disoriented, like a whiteout in a blizzard. But after an hour or so, I'd make my way to the prow. Wind on my face. Sun on my body. Salt breeze filling my chest. Quieting my heart.Who cares about sailing toward Montauk and its fabulous trees anymore? I'm busy breathing in this fabulous moment here. Thanks for reading #AutisticAF Out Loud Newsletter! It is the "Eve of the Eve." December 30th. There is often a hidden pressure today—the pressure to be well-rested and energetic for New Year's Eve tomorrow. But your mind is likely still full of the clutter, conversations, and noise of the past year.Welcome to Day 5, the final chapter of our Holiday Decompression. Tonight, we are not trying to "fix" anything. We are simply cleaning the slate. In this Deep Sleep Hypnosis session, we will:Perform a "Mental Sweep": Visualize your mind as a room that needs a gentle sweeping. We will clear out the "dust" of 2025—the old news, the awkward moments, the regrets.Release Emotional Clutter: Identify the heavy boxes of stress you are still carrying and leave them at the back door of the year.Prepare the Canvas: Visualize the New Year not as a challenge, but as a soft, pristine white sheet—waiting for you, clean and unmarked.Drift Deep: Use progressive relaxation to shut down the body and guide you into a restorative, heavy sleep. You cannot embrace the new if your hands are still full of the old. Let's sweep it clean.Support the Podcast: If this series helped you survive the holidays, please subscribe and leave a review. Your sleep matters.
It is December 29th. The year is almost gone. Suddenly, a voice in your head wakes up. It whispers: "You haven't achieved enough this year. You are running out of time."The panic of the "New Year" sets in. You feel the pressure to write a list of resolutions that involve starving, sweating, and hustling your way into January.Stop.Welcome to Day 4 of our Holiday Decompression. Today, we are silencing the Inner Critic and rejecting the toxic "Hustle Culture" of January. instead, we are embracing the Soft Life.In this 10-minute guided session, we will:Confront the Critic: Acknowledge the voice that says you need to be "better" or "more productive" next year.Turn Down the Volume: Visualize a mixing desk where you can manually lower the fader on your self-doubt.Shift to Soft Goals: Replace rigid, punishing resolutions with intentions based on ease, flow, and kindness.Visualizing 2026: See the year ahead not as a mountain to climb, but as a river to float down. You do not need to "crush" 2026. You just need to live it.Support the Podcast: If this anti-hustle approach resonates with you, please subscribe and leave a review. Let's start the new year with kindness, not pressure.
The final hours before Christmas can feel like a race you never signed up for. The lists are long, the oven is busy, and the year's noise is still ringing in your ears. We take a breath together and step into a quieter story, revisiting Luke 2 to remember why Christmas brings joy to all people and how that joy can reshape a hectic day in real time.Across the conversation, we pull out two practical anchors you can use today. First, lift worship above the noise by thanking God for who he is and what he has given. Gratitude counters hurry and restores focus. Second, embrace simple over perfect. The manger was enough; your table and plans can be enough, too. We touch on obedience and readiness in the lives of Mary and Joseph, and how small yeses—patience in lines, kindness at the register, phones down at dinner—make room for real peace. If your Christmas Eve feels messy, you're not off track. You might be closer to the heart of the story than you think.Merry Christmas!!We would love to hear your comments. Our culture doesn't just move fast—it demands that we keep up. But what do our souls, our families, and our faith lose when we never slow down?Jonathan Youssef is joined again by author and nonprofit leader Kristen Welch for a deeply honest discussion about busyness, spiritual burnout, and the life-giving invitation to sit with Jesus. Kristen shares how years of faithful work and constant activity slowly led her toward spiritual depletion and how solitude and surrender became the pathway back to intimacy with God.Together, Jonathan and Kristen explore the dangers of equating productivity with faithfulness, the role of spiritual disciplines in a distracted world, and what it looks like to lead and live from a place of rest rather than striving. In This Episode, You'll Hear About:Why busyness is often celebrated, but spiritually dangerousThe difference between doing things for God and being with GodHow distraction can quietly create distance from the LordThe role of silence, solitude, and Sabbath in spiritual formationLearning to listen for God's voice in a noisy, over-stimulated worldCreating rhythms and habits that form us toward ChristRediscovering identity as a child of God, not a performerAbout Kristen WelchKristen Welch is an author, speaker, and the founder of the global non-profit, Mercy House Global. This podcast episode introduces the "300 Strong Challenge," a 7-day program designed to test ideas and build beneficial habits through competitive activities like cold showers, meditation, listening to God, running, and bodyweight exercises. The hosts, Tommy and Caleb, share their personal struggles and revelations, particularly highlighting the pervasive nature of distractions that hinder quiet time with God and the unexpected mental benefits of cold showers. They emphasize that challenges expose personal weaknesses, foster deeper understanding of scripture, and ultimately help individuals lead more intentional lives by building consistent habits. The episode concludes by inviting listeners to join a modified version of the challenge, stressing that the goal is not just completion but personal discovery and growth. Chapters: 1. **Introduction to Challenges & The 300 Strong Challenge** (00:00:00,000) - The hosts introduce a new podcast direction focused on doing challenges to test ideas and invite listeners to participate. They outline the initial "300 Strong Challenge," which includes cold showers, listening to the Father, meditating on a verse, running, and bodyweight exercises. 2. **Tommy's Hardest Challenges** (00:03:01,660) - Tommy shares his struggles with cold showers in winter conditions and, more significantly, the 10 minutes of listening to the Father, revealing how much internal noise prevents him from hearing God in silence. He identifies this as a personal area for growth. 3. **Caleb's Reflections on Distraction** (00:06:32,748) - Caleb agrees with Tommy, expressing disappointment that 10 minutes of silence is now difficult, contrasting it with a past experience on the Appalachian Trail. He highlights the pervasive nature of distractions and the need to actively practice the presence of God. 4. **The Art of Being Fathered & Quieting the Mind** (00:10:38,048) - Tommy questions the balance between learning from man and God, while Bryan shares his practice of listening to instrumental music to quiet his mind. Bryan also suggests asking God specific questions about Himself during quiet time for deeper, personal insight. 5. **The Cold Shower's Mental Impact** (00:15:29,699) - Bryan admits the 30-second cold shower was a constant mental hurdle, exposing his brain's workings, despite its refreshing outcome. Caleb adds that incorporating challenges into existing morning habits was crucial for his success. 6. **The Personal Nature of God & Challenge Motivation** (00:18:26,360) - Bryan emphasizes that listening to God doesn't always have to be about heavy topics, but can be about personal, playful connection, similar to a child playing with a parent. Caleb relates this to throwing a baseball with his dad, valuing the time together over specific conversation. 7. **Tommy's Meditation Revelation (Daniel Chapter 6)** (00:26:24,856) - Tommy shares a profound experience meditating on Daniel Chapter 6, realizing he had misunderstood the story and gaining new insights into the king's faith and parallels between Daniel and Jesus regarding religious rules. This deep dive brought the scripture to life for him. 8. **Caleb's Meditation & Life's Distractions (Romans 8)** (00:31:08,426) - Caleb discusses his struggle with all-day meditation due to accumulated distractions, reflecting on Romans 8 and the question of what he wants his daily life to look like. He realizes the need to remove distractions like social media to foster a deeper connection with God. 9. **Brian's Meditation (Joshua 1:9) & Cold Shower Benefits** (00:35:51,406) - Brian shares his experience meditating on Joshua 1:9, applying the command to be strong and courageous throughout his day. He also reiterates the cold shower's immediate ability to reset a worried or anxious mind, calling it a true nervous system restart. 10. **Physical Challenges & Motivation** (00:38:43,580) - Tommy and Caleb discuss the physical challenges, with Tommy noting how the cold shower motivated him for other tasks and how walks reignited activity. Caleb reflects on his failure to consistently run and the importance of daily consistency, while they debate the role of competition versus self-discovery in motivation. 11. **Conclusion & Next Steps** (00:50:40,842) - The hosts conclude by emphasizing that challenges expose what's truly important and help build habits to lead one's life, rather than being controlled by it. They announce a modified repeat of the challenge for the next week, encouraging listeners to participate and track their progress for personal benefit and learning.

In this reflective solo episode, I'm looking back at the five biggest lessons I learned this year . These lessons changed how I approach success, friendship, stillness, and self-trust. Some lessons arrived gently; others came through discomfort and hard realizations. The five lessons I share:The Importance of Community to a Fulfilled LifeThe Impact and Success of Working Intensely Where It MattersRecognizing and Quieting a Busy MindRecognizing Who Your True Friends AreListening to Your Own VoiceWhether you're closing out your own chapter or simply in a season of reflection, this episode is an invitation to pause, take stock, and ask what this year taught you.Follow @mannatplease on TikTok and Instagram!TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mannatplease?lang=enInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mannatplease/Disclaimer: The information shared on this podcast is for informational and entertainment purposes only. We live in a world that glorifies speed, noise, and constant doing. But what if the secret to thinking better, leading better, and living better is actually found in the moments when we stop? In this episode, Dr. Bray dives into the neuroscience of stillness; why your brain needs quiet to perform at its best, and how doing nothing may be the most productive thing you can do. He will share the story of a high-performing executive who thought he was burning out, when in fact, his brain was begging for a break. We'll explore what happens in your mind when you slow down, how silence rewires your focus, and why some of your best ideas appear in the shower, on a walk, or in moments of calm. If your brain feels full but your clarity is fading, this episode will change how you think about rest. Because stillness isn't the absence of work, it's the space where your best thinking begins. Quotes by Dr. Bray "Rest is not a luxury. Stillness is not a luxury. It's a biology." "Because in all the noise of modern life, stillness is where clarity, insight, and performance are born." "Stillness isn't the absence of productivity. It's the very foundation of it." "Your brain actually performs better when you slow down and stop."

Send us a textEver wish you could quiet the story in your head without having to relive it? We sit down with Marine veteran and defense-tech CEO Tony Crescenzo to explore a practical, science-backed way to downshift the nervous system using neuroacoustic entrainment. Tony opens up about the years he spent running hot—rage, hypervigilance, and fractured sleep—and how a targeted audio protocol shifted his sleep from barely restorative to deeply replenishing. The conversation gets real about why so many first responders and veterans avoid talk therapy, and how culturally aware approaches can make all the difference. We break down the sleep architecture behind feeling human again. Slow wave sleep restores the body; REM sleep stabilizes emotion and consolidates memory. Tony shares research showing meaningful gains in both, along with a 9% boost in threat recognition—vital for police, fire, EMS, dispatchers, and military communities where seconds matter. You'll hear how suppressing the prefrontal “rumination engine” while opening the anterior cingulate, parietal, and occipital regions enables somatic processing: the body digests stress so the mind can stand down. Then we zoom out to cognitive resilience—the brain's ability to adapt quickly under pressure. Using EEG-guided and AI-personalized protocols, entrainment builds coherence front-to-back and left-to-right, easing brain fog and improving metabolic efficiency. The result is a steadier baseline, faster recovery after spikes, and sleep that actually repairs. If you've been stuck between white-knuckle coping and sterile clinical answers, this is a credible path you can start at home, including free app tracks for power naps, rumination relief, and sleep support. How to reach Jonathan: 1) https://www.IntelligentWaves.com 2) https://www.PeakNeuro.com3) https://www.linkedin.com/in/tonycrescenzo/Freed.ai: We'll Do Your SOAP Notes!Freed AI converts conversations into SOAP note.Use code Steve50 for $50 off the 1st month!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. House hushing is a decluttering method that aims to create peaceful spaces in your home by reducing visual noise. Visual noise refers to anything excessive, jarring, or inharmonious in your environment, such as clutter, mismatched colors, or loud patterns. According to interiors blogger Myquillin Smith of The Nester, "Everything in your room has a voice… taking up visual, physical and even emotional space. Quieting your space removes all those voices in a room at once." Why is house hushing beneficial? And how do you hush a house? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! Our conditioned mind is filled with distractions, including worry-thoughts that continually create anxiety in the body. This meditation guides us in relaxing the body, and then establishing the breath as a home base. By gathering and collecting the attention, the mind can settle and allow for a relaxed, wakeful presence.
The iconic Bob Roth joins Kelly to demystify meditation. Meditation Bob has helped quiet the minds of David Lynch, Oprah, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, and now he's answering all of our questions. He weighs in on how often one should meditate, how to meditate and how to time your meditation. This episode of The Deep Dive is a fascinating and ambitious exploration that attempts to weave together quantum mechanics, UFOs, and consciousness into a single, grand "Theory of Everything." The hosts do an excellent job of breaking down complex ideas like the double-slit experiment and quantum entanglement, making them accessible and linking them directly to the radical premise: that consciousness is not a byproduct of the brain, but the fundamental fabric of reality itself. The strength of this discussion lies in its scope. Connecting the dots between the hard problem of consciousness, the transformative effects of UFO contact, and the source of creative inspiration is a bold and thought-provoking endeavor. The segment on the left brain as a "storyteller" that filters our perception of a deeper reality is particularly compelling.Where the episode occasionally stumbles is in its pacing. The leap from established quantum physics to more speculative metaphysical models like the "Coherence Loom Theory" feels a bit abrupt, and listeners looking for rigorous scientific counter-arguments might be left wanting. However, the hosts are transparent about exploring radical ideas.Ultimately, this is a 3/4-star episode not for a lack of intrigue, but for its sheer density. It's a lot to process in one sitting, but it's undeniably rewarding. You'll be left with a powerful and provocative question: If your focus truly shapes your reality, what kind of world are you creating with your thoughts?Best For: Listeners with an open mind, fans of quantum physics mysteries, and anyone interested in the intersection of science and spirituality.Key Takeaways:Consciousness may be fundamental, not matter.Phenomena like UFOs and creativity might all be connected through consciousness.Quieting your "left-brain storyteller" could be the key to accessing a deeper reality. For more information visitwww.presidentialufo.org

We've got a surprise for you this week – Sabrina is back! She and Sonia T. are taking full control of the mic while Sonia C. is teaching, and they are tackling the barking dogs. We've all had seasons when the barking dogs are really revved up, but when your expectations of yourself and others start to spin out of control, it's time for you to take charge and calm down. This week's theme is: You – not your barking dog – are in control of you! Reserve your seat at the Speed Dial Your Guidance Experience today! Highlights: Welcome back to the podcast, Sabrina! [:30] Eclipse season is wrapping up, and our shadows are ready to rest. [2:02] Quieting the inner critic. [9:34] Check your expectations – of yourself and others! [11:50] You get to turn the awareness dial up or down. [17:30] Meet Pete and Peony! What is your barking dog's name? [19:40] You get to choose what news you consume. [25:05] Who tells you that you're too much? [30:00] Tool of the Week: Embrace your inner child, but don't let her drive the bus. [39:10] Question of the Week: Are birds really my spirit guides? [42:54] Eclipse season is wrapping up, and our spirits are rejoicing! Something about the shadows that come out during eclipse season can leave us feeling unsettled about our lives and unsure about our relationships, but it doesn't have to be that way! Being intuitive sometimes means knowing others' needs even before they do, but that awareness dial doesn't always need to be turned up to full volume. You can choose to quiet the dial, and you just may preserve your happy relationships in the process! Today on the podcast, we also welcome Pete and Peony, the barking dogs! Your ego intellect can be named and can be put to good use in service to your spirit. But when you let the dog drive the bus, it gets really loud, really quickly! When your barking dog gets critical and starts thinking in black and white and just knows it's right about everything, it's time to name it to tame it. Remember, you are in control here, not your barking dog. Tool of the Week: Embrace your inner child, but don't let her drive the bus. [39:10] Question of the Week: Are birds really my spirit guides? Podcast from Nfluence Church | Granger, IndianaFeaturing: Dr. David ImesThis week, Dr. David Imes shared a powerful message on the importance of renewing our minds, drawing from Romans 12:2: "Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God."Dr. Imes addressed the struggles many of us face with anxious thoughts and the impact of our thought life on our well-being. He explained that science and faith both affirm our ability to change and grow—our brains are "neuroplastic," meaning they can be reshaped by our thoughts and choices. God has given us the spiritual DNA to become more like Christ, and we are called to take every thought captive, replacing negativity with the truth of God's Word.Key practical steps included:Regularly reading and meditating on Scripture to shape our thinking.Taking time to quiet our minds and listen for God's voice.Speaking God's promises over our lives and others.Remembering that our identity is rooted in Christ, not in fear or past mistakes.Dr. Imes encouraged us to see ourselves as God sees us—loved, forgiven, and empowered to live out His will. Hey Wildflower, As we move into September, I want to help you lessen your worry and ruminating ways. It is so easy to get caught up in worry and then ruminate over all the things that can go wrong in life. This way of handling your life's worries often becomes a habit. It is possible to break that habit and learn healthier ways of dealing with life's difficult emotions. Let's start our month with another meditation, to slow down and increase your quiet mind. It is possilbe to quiet your mind, you just need to be in awarenss of the round and round of your own brain. Once you see it, you can do something about it. Each week this month, we will be working on how to reduce the stress and anxiety caused by worry and rumination. But, for today, let's sit still for a few moments and connect with your mind and body. amyloganlife.com
In Visions of the Divine (Sophia Institute Press), Catholic evangelist, author, and a top Wall Street executive STEPHEN F. AUTH, reunites the art of the Eucharist with the Eucharistic liturgy itself. Much splendid art adorns and magnificently beautifies Churches throughout the globe, a phenomenathat came under great stress during the Reformation, and especially under JOHN CALVIN. "Calvin, especially, was very much opposed to [Church art]," explains AUTH, in this interview with JOHN AIDAN BYRNE. To order Visions of theDivine: https://www.sojolk8trk.com/99LK8N/29X...Other Books by STEVE AUTH: Pilgrimage to the Museum: https://www.sojolk8trk.com/99LK8N/PHW...Missionary of Wall Street: https://www.sojolk8trk.com/99LK8N/51G...Indeed, much of this early Church art was separated from the context of the Mass for which it was created many centuries ago and is relegated now to museums sprinkled around the world. Along with his co-authors Evelyn Auth andMsgr. Roger Landry, Steve leads the reader on a worldwide pilgrimage to some of the most spectacular and moving artistic masterpieces created over the millennia to help clergy and laity alike penetrate more deeply into the Eucharistic mystery. Journeying to museums and churches in nearly twenty cities across the United States and Europe, the authors will guide you through the liturgy of the Mass in ways you may never have experienced. Whether you attend church out of obligation, for the sense of community you find there, or for the Eucharistic presence itself, Visions of the Divine will help you make these experiences richer, more vibrant, and more fulfilling. And if you've never attended a Roman Catholic Mass and are curious about what happens there, Visions will give you an experience guaranteed to leave you thirsting for more. Narrated in the author's simple, emotive style, Visions of the Divine presents you with dozens of colorful images of thought-provoking art that will immerse you in each element of the Mass at a deeper and more profound level, including: How the simple act of making the Sign of the Cross, which the average Catholic does eight times during the liturgy, can make you cry Quieting your mind to listen more actively to the Word of God and to imagine yourself in the moment as the Word is proclaimed and the author guides you through some of the Scriptures' most iconic messages Imagining the Apostles' Creed as it was carved and painted into one of Europe's most colorful Catholic churches. Meditating on a lasting image of eternity while the collection basket is passed — a practice that will forever change how you think about this relatively prosaic element of the liturgy Reliving the sacrifice and triumph of Christ on Calvary during the Eucharistic prayers through some of the greatest artistic masterpieces ever created. Following the path of biblical figures, such as Mary Magdalene, the prodigal son, and St. Paul himself, to freely receive Christ's healing mercy, forgiveness, peace, and love at Mass Experiencing the sacrament of Holy Communion for what it truly is — communion with God Himself. How to re-enter the world following the Mass with visual images in your head that will make you a more effective evangelist From Rembrandt, El Greco, and Van Gogh to Michelangelo, da Vinci, and Raphael; from Velaquez, Picasso, and Dali to lesser-known greats, such as Pontormo, Masaccio and Drolling, the array of breathtaking art in Visions of the Divine will enlighten your path to communion with God. You will witness our Father's love for you and be encouraged to let yourself be loved by Him within the Eucharistic mystery.

In this episode J. Ashley T. Booth, LCSW, MS joins to discuss the importance of long-term psychedelic integration. Ashley is a Los Angeles-based psychedelic therapist, IFS practitioner, and author of Quieting the Storm Within: An Illustrated Introduction to Your Parts Through Internal Family Systems and Beyond. With a background in research, education, and clinical work—including serving as a co-investigator on the MAPS MDMA trials—she specializes in helping clients integrate psychedelic experiences through compassionate parts work and Self-led healing. In this conversation, Ashley explores the nuances of psychedelic integration, discussing how this process can be supported through ongoing self-audits, somatic practices, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) work. She highlights the need to slow down, focus on one insight at a time, and anchor felt experiences into the body so they become lived behaviors rather than fleeting memories. The discussion also addresses challenges such as insufficient integration, psychedelic narcissism, and the pressure to “fix” oneself. In closing, Ashley stresses that even years after a journey, integration is possible if one revisits experiences with intention, and she underscores the central role of supportive communities in sustaining lasting transformation In this episode, you'll hear: What things are important to focus on in long-term integration How someone can discern when their integration process has been sufficient to pursue a subsequent psychedelic journey An overview of the internal family systems model of the psyche The downsides of insufficient integration Developing deeper relationships with the parts of one's psyche through IFS Why it's never too late to integrate psychedelic experiences from one's past What to do when integration seems to come into conflict with feeling well adjusted to society's expectations Quotes: “What I encourage clients to do is to take notes on everything that felt important and then separate them out into: ‘I'm going to just focus on this one thing for like a month, and then maybe next month will be that second piece of it.' And so you're really allowing yourself to make particular practices and focus on one thing at a time.” [6:21] “So whatever wound we're dealing with in our bodies, whether it's an extreme sort of big T trauma or little T trauma… there's a slowness that needs to happen. And so if there's parts of us that want to speed up that process, we need to be curious about that and see if there are ways that we can tend to that before the next journey.” [13:59] “I think that part of the longer term questions are not just how we change our life but what kind of meaning are we making of our lives and how are we sitting more comfortably in that meaning in a way that is serving us and empowering us?” [25:52] Links: Ashley's website IFS and Beyond on Instagram IFS and Beyond website Quieting the Storm Within: An Illustrated Introduction to Your Parts Through Internal Family Systems and Beyond by J. Episode 3662: Erica Layne shares six heartfelt reasons why embracing self-love can profoundly transform your life. From quieting self-criticism to deepening connections with others, her insights remind us that the path to growth, peace, and authentic relationships begins within. Discover how self-compassion not only lifts the weight of outside expectations but also models empowerment for those we care about most. Quotes to ponder: “Shame, the belief that you're unworthy of love and belonging, does not support long-term, transformational change.” “Self-love helps us see our own potential, allows us to forgive ourselves when we take a step backward, and eliminates the shame spiral that so often lands us right back where we started.” “For every part of myself that I've decided to accept over the years, I've felt the pressure of other people's opinions fall away.” Learn more about your ad choices.
