It's been a hell of a week, and events have inspired me to put some meaning to the words "Get Involved".  Many folks like to preach it, me included, but we forget that this is not a basic human skill, nor does it mean the same to everyone.

I think some folks have things a little twisted.  Prepping is not a niche crowd, it is an essential part of growing up.

I told you I was comin' for ya!   You was warned.  This is just another rant to warn you to check yourself before you wreck yourself.  Old School is a over used phrase that has totally been pirated by a generation.   

Papaw is back and a little Salty!!!Yes, we have previously discussed Respect, but this is a different perspective.  We are gonna start taking a look at word meanings and why they are important.

Well, Papaw has been busy coaching Baseball again.  Listen to me brag and the lessons we learned.

Often Times, we need the perspective of the youngsters.  In this episode, I interview (I use that loosely because my interview skills are, well, admixture at best) a youngster from the dirt track.  Not just any youngster, but NASCAR perspective and local track favorite  #ColbyPerkins!Now, Colby provides insight and advise as a younger racer (he is only a senior in high school), and how his mentorship from his family has helped shape him.  While humbling and close sighted as he speaks, make no mistake .... this kid is going places.

Well, we have been inundated with media about #theslap, #Will Smith reaching out and touching #Chris Rock.  Well, the perspective that is not being shared is that of the Kids.Weather you agree with it or not, it sends a message, and a very bad one to young adults in society.  It is also reflective of an attitude creeping into our culture: Finding a reason to be offended.

Hold just a moment before you pour the pint and let loose the craic.  St. Patrick's day isn't just a drinking holiday.  The Irish have a lot to pass down to the younger generations; both from experience and from cultural traditions.  Draw up into a school circle, lite the pipe and pass a few of it down.In this special edition, I'll share my own families journey from Limerick as well as point out some similarities to the Irish journey to America compared to recent events.

#johnwayne had saying "you got to have a code, a creed to live by".  These old codes, creeds and customs had a very significant place in society and avoiding them is a slippery slope you just don't want to go down.Papaw prefers to live by the code of the west, a tried and true recipe for those things not codified in civil law.  Not the least of those codes is riding for the brand: pick something to commit to and commit to it completely.  You may decide to use other analogies: Harry Potter, Star Wars, even Friends ..... either way, find a code!In this episode, we delve into that at a deeper level than a the standard "a mans word is his bond" parity.   We talk about what it means t respect a brand and how to build a solid one.  So #cowboyup, grab the reigns and hold onto your feelers.

OMG we are moving into doing interviews.  This episode we interview local dirt track racer Chris Tuck.  Chris has dominated his divisions through his hard work and focus, and we discuss that to an extent.  But also, Chris brings a passion to seeing the sport grow through the younger generations.  Whether you race, travel or whatever your family does, it's important to have the kids in mind so they can get a sense of what it takes to be successful.

Well, I have to do some tweeking and tuning on some technical issues, but why waste the audio.  Tonight, Baby Josh joined in to provide commentary about his 1st successful deer season.

Little Feat had a great song in Willin'.  Is todays world, we struggle to get things done when, in reality, there are people just willin' to keep movin on for just a nudge.  Let's examine how we tend to become weak by just getting the government or governing bodies to "make" people do things that we feel should be done in life.

God gave us a large vocabulary for a reason.  Becoming Lazy and merging wordds causes us to not fulfill our journey.  Acceptance and Forgiveness are like settling a checkbook, and one MUST be done beofre the other or it is moot.

Just like the NY Jets, we tend to take things that have a smidgen of sense and keep running them straight up the middle.  Then, we wonder why we haven't seen a super bowl .... hell, it was an awesome idea?!?!Well, we keep running "Acceptance" down society's throat like it is the magic pill, or the play of the century.  It sounds good in theory, the problem is, the opposing team keeps blocking it.Let's take a gander at the issue from the outside and see the innate problems with blanket acceptance and how to set our children up for success.

R.E.S.E.C.T , find out what it means to be ........sock it to me sock it to me Respect is a funny thing, and it seems the phrase "To get respect. you must give respect" has mutated into a disrespectful little diddy.  Come along, lets have some heart to heart about what respect is and why you WILL give it, even if it isn't earned.  Weak men make a weak society, and respect is one of the strengths that combat weakness.

One of the most disheartening things we mislead our children towards is to "Follow your Dreams".  I firmly believe this is a significant factor in creating disgruntled adults.  Join us on this discussion of exactly what we are telling kids and the ACTUAL steps to Follow your Dreams.

Life can be broken down easiest into the current internet model of marketting.  Tonight, we ta a deep dive into making decisions on your future utilizing Marketing.Conversely, we also talk about what HAS NOT been told to you about marketing and economics.We end the evening with a discussion, and a warning, regarding the Great Quit: the phenomenon of folks actually putting their money where their mouth is and influencing the market with their feet.  

People talk about Road Signs as if they are the end all be all to life.  What they don't talk about the the discipline required to obey said sign.Tonight, we examine our responsibility to teach the kids the significance of signs in life and the purpose of obeying them.

Not from the statisticians, pollsters or researchers or even the hi Church muckie mucks who tell you what to think.  This is a blue collar, boots on ground view of why Churches (and religious institutions in general) are seeing a decline in their numbers and whatt they need to look at to change that.

Don`t get it twisted, those fancy letters and sheepskin don't guarantee anything.  The fight for "Living wage" has the younings' a bit confused.  Your not worth anything if your anything isn't working.  Lets have some difficult discussion on this and adjust our thinking for a better, stronger society. 

Ok, Y'all went and made Papaw angry.  If you cant do it, let Papaw give you the knife hand explanation as to why your jackerated.

We are congratulating our recent graduates, but are we setting them up for success?  Are we setting them up to be successful for them or for US? Lets have some dificult discussion around that.

Accountability can be humbling at times.   Our generation was, at one time, demeaned by the previous one, just as that was was by the ones before it.  No one ever had it harder than than the previous generation.Here, we enter into difficult conversation that brings that into perspective.  Are they lazy, no account and the end of civilization as we know it? Or are they really good at a game we taught them.

Papaw Joe learned  a little something while serving as a Corpsman with the Marine Corps: Shoot Move and Communicate!!! These principles can be applied to almost EVERYTHING we encounter as objective principles.  If you cant do all three, your really just a poser.

At the end of every episode I say "Bow your head and pray to whatever you pray to".  This is why: Religion is your calibration for your Moral Compass.  

After recovering from man flu, Papaw took to the field to help coach little league baseball.  The lessons of teamwork are very humbling and should be a part of every parents playbook.

We previously discussed some basic tenets everyone should know to discuss civics in society, and this just kinda wraps it up and puts it into perspective.

As promised, the first part of basic information to know your civic responsibility. Of the 5 pillars of what you should know, these are the 1st  three, and arguably, the most important.Papaw discusses how simple you civic duties are to understand.  Don't listen to the tinfoil hat crowd.  This is what you need to know to sort through society today.

What expectations are we instilling in the kids, and where are they rooted?  It's uncomfortable, but it's absolutely OK to say "know your roll, know your place!!"one does not have to train to be miserable, so quit setting goals and plans that put you there.

Let's just take those tinfoil hats off, put politics aside and really delve into this objectively.   Perspective is everything!

You don't need to be a history nerd or Media hound to understand the role of Civics in society.  Here, Papaw breaks down the two different types of Americans and why you need to know some basic information ... and why not knowing them is actually a hurting our children.Buckle up, buttercup, Papaw's gonna hurt a lot of feelings on both sides of the isle before we break off into further episodes.Oh ..... and dont bring a pen and paper.  This is straight off the cuff .... just like your Grandfather would have done.
