In this episode of Lipsticks on Labcoats, we explore transmutation — from the nuclear reactions that turn one element into another, to the spiritual practices that claim to transform pain into redemption. What happens when science and faith both point to the same truth: energy can't be destroyed, only transformed? We'll look at the difference between real transformation and illusion, why true change always requires energy, and how the “gold” we seek has always been within us.
Send us a textThe last episode of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Episode was one that stuck with me so immensely, that I had to do a Part 2 to dissect and digest it with my friend and fellow "Life Matters" advocate, Becky Girola. The previous episode was the first in a series entitled, "The Voice of a Father," where I am having Beauty Conversations with men who have been abortion-affected. Nyles Pinckney gave extraordinary details of his abortion experience and what happened before and after. Many are not aware that there is a "crisis mode" before the abortion and an "aftermath" after the aboriton. Nyles did an amazing job detailing the full spectrum. So much so, I had to have a conversation with Becky, Director of ABC Pregnancy Resource Center, to breakdown the missing components that could very well have helped Nyles and his partner make ABC (A Better Choice) during their crisis pregnancy. Please listen to Episode 93 and Follow up with Episode 94. These conversations are much needed to help explore the FACTS surrounding an abortion choice. It's not as cut and dry as many people feel it is and/or should be. Life just doesn't work that way.Becky does an excellent job of helping open the minds and hearts of the Pro-Life community and explain what needs to be done to "LOVE THEM BOTH!"Listen in each week and don't forget to SHARE, LIKE AND COMMENT!!!Connect with TonyaWebsite - https://www.tonyabjones.com Purchase Book Pearls in the Pews - https://tonyabjones.com/pearlsinthepews YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@beautybeyondtheashes/videosFree Mini E-Book - https://tonyabjones.com/4pillarsEmail - bbta@tonyabjones.comFacebook - Tonya Bailey Jones https://www.facebook.com/thetonyabjonesInstagram - Blessed1_t2w https://www.instagram.com/blessed1_t2w/TikTok - Beauty Beyond the Ashes https://www.tiktok.com/@beauty_beyond_the_ashes?lang=en

Send us a textPrior to walking into my healing journey from the wounds of abortion, I never thought about how a father might feel after an abortion experience. If I'm honest, I was too broken to deal with anyone else's feelings.I thank God for the road of healing and the understanding that abortion affects far more than the woman who endures one. I have come to understand that the father is affected far more than I ever thought possible.I have come to understand...The Voice of a Father! Now, during this season, I'm bringing that voice to Beauty Beyond the Ashes. And I could not have chosen a better first guess to have this Beauty Conversation with than Mr. Nyles Pinckney. You will want to hear what Nyles shares. His story and healing journey is one that opens eyes and hearts all at the same time. This is an episode to share with EVERYONE....especially the MEN in your life. What if the biggest threat to Christian values in America isn't hostile politicians—but Christians who refuse to vote? Bunni Pounds drops a bombshell statistic that will shake you: Christians are registering and voting at exactly the same rates as the general population. That means roughly half of Bible-believing Americans are voluntarily sitting out the very process that determines who governs their communities. While faithful Christians stay home on election day, secular activists are showing up in droves to elect school board members who push gender ideology, city council members who restrict religious freedom, and county officials who shut down churches. We're literally handing over our nation to people whose worldview is diametrically opposed to Scripture—and then wondering why our culture is falling apart. Bunni's journey from homeschool mom to political consultant to mobilizing nearly a million Christians reveals the stunning power of engaged believers and the devastating consequences of Christian apathy. Greg and Cory dive into the often-confusing generational conflicts simmering in many Catholic parishes, where aging baby boomers shaped by 1960s and 70s pop culture clash with younger millennials and Gen Z seekers craving transcendence and tradition. They explore how boomers emphasized horizontal community and cultural relevance, leading to beige churches and casual liturgies, while today's converts yearn for vertical worship, smells and bells, and a countercultural faith rooted in the Church's 2,000-year history. Drawing from their own journeys as converts, Greg and Cory debunk myths tying these tensions solely to Vatican II, instead pointing to broader cultural shifts and the need for principled arguments over aesthetic preferences. They warn against repeating boomer mistakes by making the Church a slave to generational trends, urging listeners to focus on continuity, charity, and faithfulness to Christ. The discussion centers around the concept of false converts, a critical issue in evangelism that hampers genuine outreach efforts. Andrew Rapoport and his friend Randy dive deep into the characteristics of false converts, highlighting how these individuals often believe they are saved while lacking true understanding or commitment to the gospel. They explore the complexities of church dynamics, where many attendees may outwardly appear to embrace faith yet remain spiritually blind to their own need for salvation. The conversation also touches on the implications of self-righteousness and the dangers posed by a superficial faith that fails to recognize the gravity of sin and the necessity of repentance. Listeners are encouraged to reflect on their own faith and discern whether their beliefs align with a true understanding of Christ's sacrifice and the transformative power of genuine conversion. Throughout the episode, the hosts maintain a light-hearted yet profound tone, making it both engaging and thought-provoking.In this eye-opening episode, Andrew Rapoport and Randy Atkins tackle the perplexing issue of false converts within the Christian faith. Their relaxed, colloquial banter does not diminish the gravity of the topic, as they delve into the intricacies of what it means to truly follow Christ versus merely adopting a title. Rapoport brings his expertise as the executive director of Striving for Eternity into the conversation, outlining the historical and theological implications of false conversions that have plagued the church throughout the ages. They discuss how cultural trends and modern evangelism tactics have often led to shallow commitments to faith, where individuals mistakenly believe they are secure in their salvation based on emotional experiences rather than a deep, scripted understanding of the gospel. The duo emphasizes the necessity of self-examination, encouraging listeners to reflect on their own spiritual journeys. They utilize biblical texts to illustrate the dangers of being a false convert, noting how the New Testament is rife with warnings about self-deception and the importance of genuine repentance. Rapoport's anecdotes about evangelism experiences serve as cautionary tales, highlighting the need for churches to foster environments where authentic faith can flourish rather than simply counting numbers. Through their lively dialogue, listeners are encouraged to not only scrutinize their own beliefs but also engage in conversations about faith with others, challenging the status quo of mere nominalism in the church. The episode is both informative and entertaining, merging deep theological insights with a warm, approachable style. Rapoport and Atkins remind their audience that understanding the gospel is a lifelong journey, one that requires diligence, humility, and a sincere heart. As they wrap up, they leave listeners with a powerful exhortation to seek after true conversion, making it clear that a relationship with Christ is not about ticking boxes, but about a transformative experience that changes lives.Takeaways: The podcast episode dives deep into the topic of false converts, emphasizing the struggles evangelists face when engaging with individuals who mistakenly believe they are saved. Andrew Rapaport reflects on the historical context of false converts, discussing how the visible church has often been filled with those who do not truly believe. Listeners learn to differentiate between true salvation and mere profession of faith, highlighting the importance of self-examination in the Christian walk. The speakers stress the significance of understanding the gospel correctly, warning that many who claim to be Christians may not grasp the true implications of their faith. Through personal anecdotes, Rapaport illustrates the dangers of relying on superficial markers of faith, such as decision cards or
Religion has probably always been a part of politics, but, in modern America, it's often linked with how the Civil Rights movement was powered from the pulpit and pews and the conservative "Silent Majority" Evangelical Christian political movement that began in the 80s. There's an assumption that when preachers and other religious figures take public political positions these influence the flock. But, do they? The data suggest otherwise. Then, we're revisiting the national issue of loneliness to talk about some really interesting data sets that speak to it in very different ways. Finally, Lee brings it home with a crazy fun fact right out of the Flintstones.

Sustainability Now - exploring technologies and paradigms to shape a world that works
Featuring Molly Burhans, environmental advocate and Founder of GoodLands Imagine harnessing the vast resources of one of the world's largest landowners to combat climate change and promote social justice. This is precisely the visionary work of Molly Burhans, an American cartographer, data scientist, and environmental activist who is transforming how the Catholic Church—and potentially other major landholders—responds to our planet's most pressing sustainability challenges. At just 26, Molly founded GoodLands, an organization dedicated to mobilizing the Church's extensive landholdings for ecological conservation and community benefit. She spearheaded the creation of the first unified digital global map of the Catholic Church, a groundbreaking project unveiled at the Vatican in 2016, which revealed the immense potential for environmental stewardship embedded within the Church's properties—estimated to exceed the combined size of France and Spain. Molly's innovative use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology has not only illuminated the Church's carbon footprint and conservation opportunities but also set the stage for strategic, mission-aligned land use on a global scale. Her extraordinary contributions have earned her numerous accolades including: being named a United Nations Young Champion of the Earth, an Ashoka Fellow, National Geographic Emerging Explorer, Sierra Club Earth Care Laureate, one of Encyclopædia Britannica's “20 Under 40 Shapers of the Future” and many more. In addition to a Master's in Ecological Design from the Conway School and her work on projects, advocacy, and creative initiatives, Molly is an adjunct professor of Urban Design at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. With a deep personal commitment to her faith, Molly embodies a new generation of leaders who are leveraging technology, data, and visionary thinking to create sustainable solutions.Today, she stands at the intersection of ecology, technology, and spirituality, demonstrating how innovative approaches to land management can have profound implications for environmental sustainability and social justice worldwide.

Latter-day Saint Jenna Carson, who became the first member ever to serve as a chaplain in the federal prison system, was a student at Harvard Divinity School when, she said, God called her to become a military chaplain. That was 2015. And although Carson did not yet know it, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints did not at that time grant women the all-important endorsement required by the Defense Department. Female Latter-day Saints could obtain endorsements to serve as chaplains in hospitals, education, hospice care and prisons — but not, it turned out, the military. Nevertheless, the feeling persisted. And so did she. Setbacks followed, but, in 2021, she won Salt Lake City's go-ahead. The next year, she was on her way to boot camp. Two years into being an Air Force chaplain, Carson has more than a little to say about what it's like to be a female spiritual authority operating if not within the LDS Church, then with its approval.
