    Geshe Sonam quotes a verse from Shantideva's Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra on how all the teachings are for the sake of arising wisdom.     In this episode, Geshe Sonam teaches that we overcome all the afflictive emotions by overcoming confusion. He quotes a verse from Āryadeva's Four Hundred Verses.     In this brief teaching, Geshe Sonam Ngodup explores the reason why the kindness of the enlightened ones (the Buddhas) and kindness of Sentient beings is equal. Also, why we depend on sentient beings for our own Spiritual development towards Enlightenment. He explains this using a verse from Bodhicaryāvatāra by Shantideva. Geshe la teaches in Tibetan and his teachings are translated by Venerable Khedrup. སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་སངས་རྒྱས་དང་བཀའ་དྲིན་ཆེ་ཆུང་འདྲ་བའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན། The reason why the Buddhas and all sentient beings are similarly kind. From Shantideva's Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra སྤྱོད་འཇུག་ལས། སེམས་ཅན་རྣམས་དང་རྒྱལ་བ་ལ། A Buddha's qualities are gained སངས་རྒྱས་ཆོས་འགྲུབ་འདྲ་བ་ལ། From sentient beings and Conquerors (Buddhas) alike, རྒྱལ་ལ་གུས་བྱེད་དེ་བཞིན་ཏུ། So why do I not respect them (sentient beings) སེམས་ཅན་ལ་མིན་ཅི་ཡི་ཚུལ། In the same way I respect Conquerors?     In this short teaching, Geshe Sonam Ngodup gives an explanation of a verse from the Six Session Guru Yoga. Specifically, he will explain the verse which teaches, how after bringing forth a mind of Bodhichitta, rooted in Love and Compassion, rejoicing in them can be powerful. He will also explain some different methods for arising love that sees all beings equally, not holding some close and others far away. Like a Wish fulfilling tree its good fruits are not exhausted. སྤྱོད་འཇུག་ལས། དགེ་བ་གཞན་ཀུན་ཆུ་ཤིང་བཞིན་དུ་ནི། All other virtues are like a plantain tree, འབྲས་བུ་ཕྱུང་ནས་ཟད་པར་འགྱུར་བ་ཉིད། After bearing fruit they simply perish, བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་ཀྱི་ལྗོན་ཤིང་རྟག་པར་ཡང། But the perennial tree of bodhicitta, འབྲས་བུ་འབྱིན་པས་མི་ཟད་འཕེལ་བར་འགྱུར། Unceasingly bears fruit and flourishes without end.
