In this episode we feature Dr. Kanene Ubesie, a trauma surgeon and "professional degree collector" (in addition to trauma surgery, Dr. Ubesie has specific training and expertise in general surgery, surgical critical care, burns, wounds and recently obtained her MBA) who shares with us her personal journey in medicine as a double minority: black and a female.  She opens up about the challenges she has experienced along the way and the role therapy has played in her life. One of the most profound and life altering realizations she made at a particularly low point in her journey was that "the only person who was going to save me is me".  Dr. Ubesie's story is one of resilience, courage and passion.  She is a true inspiration.
