Episode 343 of You're Probably Right Podcast is not a soft conversation. It is not padded. It is not dressed up. I got right into it.This is a spoken-word style episode about why respect matters more than people think, why love without respect becomes dangerous, and why so many people stay in situations where they are wanted, used, desired, touched, remembered, and even cared about in fragments, but still not handled with dignity.I talk about disrespect in dating, love, attachment, mixed signals, emotional crumbs, self-abandonment, and the ugly truth that some people want the benefits of closeness without the burden of carrying another human being properly. This episode is for the people who have been replaying the tone, the moments, the chemistry, the contradictions, and trying to make sense of how something real could still be so wrong. This one is long. It goes in. If you need to pause and come back, come back. But if you have ever confused love with safety, warmth with honor, or closeness with respect, this episode is going to hit.

Sermon Notes: The Perception of Love Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Okronipa  Main Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 14:1, Galatians 5:6, Mark 11:23-25, 1 Peter 3:8-12. I. The Purpose of the Church A Place for Healing: The church is meant for "offended" and "weak" people seeking God's help. Believers must be patient with one another's frailties. The Problem of Offense: Satan uses offense as leverage to break down churches. Leaving a church due to a personal hurt is often a sign of spiritual immaturity and selfishness. Spiritual Training: Being offended serves as a test to see how far your "love life" has actually developed. II. The Supernatural Power of Love (Agape) Faith's Engine: According to Galatians 5:6, faith is "activated, energized, and expressed" through love. Without love, faith for miracles or breakthroughs will eventually shut down. Beyond Human Sentiment: While human love (Storge, Philia, Eros) is powerful, Agape is the "God-kind" of love that allows a believer to sacrifice for others and forgive even the deepest wrongs. Miracles through Love: Love has the power to cast out demons and bring healing where standard spiritual warfare might struggle. III. The Doctrine and Discipline of Forgiveness Unforgiveness as Poison: Holding onto a grudge is described as "drinking poison and expecting the other person to die". Blocked Prayers: Mark 11:25 teaches that before you pray for a mountain to move, you must first forgive anyone you have something against. No Conditional Forgiveness: Believers shouldn't wait for an apology to forgive. Forgiveness is a spiritual decision that reopens the door to God's favor. IV. Divine Protection and Long Life The "Eyes of the Lord": 1 Peter 3 promises that those who seek peace, avoid evil speech, and walk in love will enjoy divine protection and "good days". Escaping Satanic Traps: Walking in love keeps spiritual doors closed to the enemy. Bitterness often provides a foothold for demonic operations and physical sickness. V. Practical Application: How to Love Tenderheartedness: Replace hard-heartedness and stubbornness with a soft, easily entreated spirit. Courtesy and Respect: Love is evidenced in simple courtesy and how we treat those "below" us in social or spiritual status. Protecting Others: Love seeks to protect and cover the reputations of others rather than exposing their mistakes. Closing Challenge: Identify someone who has treated you unfairly and make the decision to bless them and pray for their welfare, thereby aligning your heart with the nature of God.

In the final message of This Is Love, we celebrate the heart of the Gospel through Matthew 28. The cross stands as the reminder of Jesus' sacrifice — the place where our sin was paid for and our debt was forgiven. But the story doesn't end there. The empty tomb declares victory. The stone wasn't rolled away so Jesus could get out, but so we could see in — to witness the freedom and new life available to all who believe. This message invites us to step into the reality that through Jesus, love has already won.

This week in our series, This Is Love, we're reminded that the cross was never an accident — it was always the plan. Jesus didn't just allow the cross to happen to Him; He willingly stepped into it to fulfill what had been set in motion from the very beginning. From Passover to Abraham and Isaac, to the bronze serpent in the wilderness, Scripture points forward to this moment. The cross was more than a Roman instrument of death — it was God's plan of redemption. This message invites us to see the depth of His love and the intentional sacrifice that made a way for us to be saved.

In week three of This Is Love, guest Pastor Jeremy Burroughs shares from John 4. Through Jesus' encounter at the well, we see a love that actively seeks us out, meets our deepest needs, and transforms our story.God's love not only finds and fulfills us — it fuels us to reach others. Sharing his own life-changing story, Pastor Jeremy reminds us that a simple invitation can open the door to someone encountering Jesus for the first time. With Easter approaching, this message challenges us to step out in faith, because one invite could make an eternal difference.

This week we step into John 5 and the story of the man at the pool of Bethesda. In this powerful encounter, Jesus demonstrates a love that sees beyond the surface and meets us right in the middle of our brokenness. This message reminds us that His healing love is deeply personal — refusing to leave us stuck in dysfunction and calling us into a transformed life. When Jesus heals, He doesn't just restore what was broken; He invites us to move forward into something new, never returning to the old way of living.

What is love, really? In this message from Song of Solomon, we look at the power of covenant love, why love should not be awakened before its time, and how real relationships are formed through commitment, community, healing, and the love of Jesus. This sermon is both honest and pastoral, reminding us that love is more than emotion; it is shaped by holiness, strengthened in suffering, and sustained by God. Whether you are single, dating, married, or healing from heartbreak, this message points to a deeper kind of love; one that is rooted in Christ and strong enough to endure.

In the opening message of our new series This Is Love, we look at the powerful moment when Jesus washes the disciples' feet. In a culture where this task was reserved for the lowest servant, Jesus chose to serve those who were still prideful, broken, and imperfect. This message reminds us that Jesus' love is not based on our worthiness. No matter how far we've wandered or how broken we may feel, He still calls us worthy of His love — and invites us to show that same humble, servant-hearted love to others.

Love Month ends the only way it possibly could on Episode 449 of Friends Talking Nerdy—by dragging Love's chaotic cousin into the spotlight: Hate.Professor Aubrey and Tim The Nerd take a hard look at the emotional fuel that powers both love and hate. These aren't mild feelings. They're high-octane psychological states that flood your nervous system, sharpen your focus, and sometimes hijack your better judgment. When you're caught in hate, your brain isn't calmly evaluating evidence—it's protecting identity, tribe, ego. It feels righteous. It feels urgent. It feels necessary. And sometimes… it is.The episode explores how hateful emotions can be triggered, amplified, and weaponized. Professor Aubrey and Tim The Nerd unpack how modern media ecosystems thrive on outrage—how algorithms reward emotional intensity, how headlines are engineered to spike cortisol, and how we can end up furious about events that don't actually affect our day-to-day lives. Not all anger is manipulation, though. Sometimes anger is a signal that something unjust is happening. The key question becomes: are you responding to reality, or reacting to narrative? The conversation then turns toward history and politics—how leaders throughout time have used fear and hatred to consolidate power. When hate becomes identity, opponents stop being neighbors with different views and start becoming enemies. That shift narrows empathy and makes compromise feel like betrayal. The cost isn't just political. It's human. This episode doesn't preach. It dissects. It asks what hate does to the brain, to relationships, to society. It asks when anger is clarifying and when it's corrosive. And it challenges listeners to recognize when they're being emotionally steered. As Love Month closes, the energy doesn't fade—it transforms. Professor Aubrey and Tim The Nerd explore the many ways humans form meaningful connections with animals, from beloved household pets to farm animals and even wildlife we may never touch but still deeply care about. In this episode, they share personal stories that highlight how animals can shape our lives, teach empathy, and offer companionship, purpose, and perspective. The discussion moves beyond affection alone and digs into what it actually means to love animals responsibly—understanding their needs, respecting their boundaries, and recognizing the differences between domesticated, farm, and wild animals. Professor Aubrey and Tim The Nerd also talk about ethical care, stewardship, and how love for animals can influence behavior, choices, and values in everyday life.Whether you're a lifelong pet owner, an animal advocate, or someone who simply appreciates the natural world, this episode offers insight into how love for animals reflects some of our best human qualities when practiced with intention, respect, and care.As always, we wish to thank Christopher Lazarek for his wonderful theme song. If you've been dating for a while and you're starting to feel tired, discouraged, or quietly wondering why this seems so much harder than it should be, you're not imagining things. Modern dating can wear people down, the endless swiping, first dates that go nowhere, the emotional energy it takes just to stay open and hopeful. Many of the people I work with start to doubt themselves, not because anything is wrong with them, but because the process itself is exhausting. In this episode, I'm joined by Tim Molnar, a dating coach and former sociology professor, to talk about dating burnout recovery and how to approach dating with more clarity, intention, and emotional steadiness. Instead of pushing harder or checking out completely, we explore how to date more thoughtfully,  in ways that protect your mental health and help you stay connected to yourself along the way. We talk about why modern dating mental health struggles are so common, how swipe culture and endless choice can distort decision-making, and why so many good people end up feeling depleted rather than excited. Tim shares a research-backed, intentional dating strategy that helps you make better decisions sooner, reduce emotional drain, and focus your energy where it actually matters. If you've been trying to date without losing yourself — your values, your peace of mind, or your sense of hope — this episode offers a calmer, more grounded way forward. As you listen, you might reflect on this question: What would change if dating felt less like a test of your worth and more like a process you could approach with intention and self-trust? In Mark 12, Jesus was asked which of the ten commandments was most important. His reply surprised them:‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.”What is the first key phrase in this passage? The action verb Jesus began with? LOVE - Love the Lord … your God.We have to start with the very personal question: How much do I love God?How do we love God with all our hearts, souls, and minds with all of our strength? Jesus showed us a road map in this passage. There are four quadrants mapped out of our being that Jesus mentioned here: Heart, Soul, Mind, and strength. We start with getting present with God - just me and Him - getting still. It is the premise of what we do here every day. We do this by breathing and getting still.Notice the passage starts with internal, intimate things - not intellectual things like the mind. It begins with our heart and soul. The order to this is criticalWe start by paying attention to our heart - what is going on inside. Approaching God as a child with all our feelings, failures and desires and bringing it to Him.Then we focus on our Soul by getting still and allowing His presence to speak to our inner being - without words.Only then do we engage our mind by taking in what God is saying.Lastly, our strength, what we do with encountering God.These are the steps Jesus laid out to love him wholly.Listen again to Jesus words.‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.”Start, as Jesus said, with our heart -our feelings, then move to our soul - experiencing God in stillness caring for the deepest part of us, then move to feeding our minds by taking in what he is saying and then, and only then should we move forward in strength Knowing the source. What part of the four quadrants do you struggle to let be known by God? Heart, soul, mind, strength? These are all connected. Your heart matters—your soul matters. Your mind matters. What you do matters. But the order matters most. Can you allow God to love you today? Can you let him know more of you this next year?As you ruminate on those feelings, let's take some slow deep breaths once again.Let's pray together: “Heavenly Father, thank You for taking all of the laws and simply telling us to love You with all we have, through a relationship with Jesus. Today, I seek Your balance. I give you my heart. My mind. My thoughts. My attitude. My spirit. My being. All that I have for all that You are. As above, so below.”

This week at Venture, we welcomed Pastor Jared Ming from Higher Vision Church as he continued our Journey Through Ephesians series with a powerful message from Ephesians 5. Pastor Jared teaches what it means to “be imitators of God” — that following Jesus is not just about believing, but about becoming more like our Father. Through humor, personal stories, and deep biblical insight, he unpacks two life-changing truths: 1. Walk in Love Love isn't just emotion — it's action, sacrifice, generosity, and self-control. Jared shows how true love is expressed through giving, and how it also means restraining the desires and behaviors that lead us away from God. 2. Walk in the Light We are called to leave the darkness behind. Jared challenges us to disconnect from anything that keeps us from God's best and to step fully into the light — through confession, truth, repentance, and following Jesus wholeheartedly. This message is practical, challenging, and full of moments that will help you grow closer to God and look more like Him in your daily life. ⏱️ Timestamps 00:00 – Welcome to Venture Church Online00:06 – Drop your location in the comments00:20 – Service intro00:42 – Pastor Jared Ming takes the stage01:07 – Honoring Pastor Brandon, Pastor Di, and the team01:23 – About Higher Vision Church01:38 – Thanksgiving weekend humor02:03 – “Drumstick” joke02:24 – Diving into Ephesians 502:41 – Standing for the reading of God's Word02:57 – “Be imitators of God”03:31 – Opening prayer03:58 – What does it mean to imitate God?04:17 – Mimicking your Father in heaven04:42 – Family photo illustration05:19 – Do you resemble your Father spiritually?06:25 – What imitation really looks like06:49 – Encouraging the room07:16 – The call to “walk in love”07:56 – Love expressed through giving08:41 – God loved and gave09:05 – The five love languages09:27 – Gift illustration with Pastor Morgan10:51 – It's not love if there's no substance11:13 – Showing love through generosity and forgiveness11:43 – Love is demonstrated through action12:27 – Love is expressed through self-control12:59 – Hard topics: sexual immorality13:28 – Why Paul addresses sexuality14:28 – Fornication explained15:08 – God's call to holiness16:01 – Coveting and desires16:35 – Desires become actions16:57 – God protects us through boundaries17:53 – Love restrains18:01 – Controlling your words18:27 – All communication matters19:15 – Every word is recorded19:44 – Our words justify or condemn20:06 – Life and death in the tongue20:52 – The power of confession21:34 – Your words shape your future22:11 – Speak life, not defeat22:37 – Don't be deceived by empty words23:21 – Cultural lies vs. biblical truth24:06 – Reaping the results of belief24:51 – Speak God's promises25:19 – “The best is yet to come”25:35 – Walk in love recap26:15 – Point 2: Walk in the light26:35 – Leaving darkness behind27:06 – Know what is acceptable to God27:42 – Why you need the Bible28:15 – Light reveals what darkness hides29:17 – Stop blaming darkness — turn on the light29:53 – Jesus is the light30:15 – Jesus wants followers, not fans30:38 – Disconnect from darkness31:26 – “No thank you” illustration from Elf32:47 – What fellowship with darkness looks like33:37 – Expose what's hidden34:18 – Painful but necessary healing34:45 – Story of the plantar wart36:22 – It can't heal until you reveal36:50 – Break fellowship with darkness37:22 – Time to walk in love and light37:41 – Salvation invitation38:29 – Call to repentance39:12 – Prayer of salvation40:12 – Prayer over the church40:45 – Pastor Di wraps up service41:27 – How to go deeper this week41:47 – Christmas season starts next week41:53 – Closing remarks42:00 – End

Welcome to the final episode in Gospel Spice's series, "Identity in the Battle." Stephanie draws from Paul's letter to the Ephesians, with a primary focus on what it means to know and live out our identity in Christ, especially amidst spiritual warfare. This serves as a conclusion to the study on our identity in Christ and how that shapes our engagement in spiritual warfare.Ephesians: Tone & ContextStephanie emphasizes two critical ways to approach Ephesians:Mature Tone: Unlike Paul's other letters, Ephesians is deeply theological and not focused on addressing specific church problems. Instead, it equips believers for mature faith, acknowledging life's difficulties, but encouraging us by affirming that victory in Christ is already secured.Context: Paul writes from prison (likely AD 62), aware these may be his final words to the church in Ephesus. Despite his chains, he speaks with gentle affection, offering encouragement and a desire for continued connection.Four Pillars in Paul's Farewell (Ephesians 6:23–24)Paul concludes with four key blessings:Peace: A deep, abiding peace (shalom) from God.Faith: Assurance in the unseen, a call to trust God in uncertainty.Love: Love that unites the community.Grace: The foundation for all Christian living.Paul challenges us to let these words be the flavor of our own walk with Christ and to root ministry and relationships in love and grace. The Spiritual BattleEach believer has a choice—either to remain bystanders or to take up their place in the spiritual battlefield. Importantly:Jesus' love is not lessened by our reluctance, but we are invited to participate in battle for the sake of others, including addressing evils like human trafficking. The enemy (Satan) is not complacent, so we must not be either. Knowing the victory is won should lead not to laziness, but to courageous engagement. Our battle is never against people, but against evil and spiritual forces. With people, we are to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit—love, patience, kindness.Handling Conflict in the ChurchStephanie points out that disagreements among Christians are inevitable. The priority is always reconciliation, but when that's not possible, it's best to move aside while continuing to pray blessings over one another, remembering that we are all fighting the same spiritual war.Five Steps for Engaging in Spiritual WarfareBecome aware of the spiritual realm.Train up: Study scripture, pray, and fellowship.Stand firm: Hold your ground in Christ's strength.Resist the devil: Persevere with God's might, not your own.Train others: Help disciple and equip younger believers.True Identity in ChristThe reality of our identity is found in the fullness of Christ. Everything—our calling, purpose, and ability to overcome—flows from knowing who God is, what He has done, who we are in Him, and what we are called to do.We are the inheritors of a deep legacy of spiritual riches and calling. So, root your life in the peace, faith, love, and grace found in Christ, remember your true identity, and take your place in the spiritual battle with courage. As the series ends, Gospel Spice invites everyone to "taste and see that the Lord is good," step boldly into battle, and empower others to do the same.Reflection/Response:-          How do Paul's final words in Ephesians inspire you to engage the spiritual battles you face today?-          What does it look like for you to stand firm in your identity in ChristEnjoying these reflection questions? Also, because Jesus tells us to love our neighbor. Human trafficking is modern day slavery, and that is something that revolts the heart of God. We want to play our part in raising awareness and then financially supporting those who fight this great evil.  So, we do some due diligence. We pick organizations who have proven themselves trustworthy of our support. And then we give money to these Christians organizations that fight human trafficking. So would you consider paying us forward at gospelspice.com/payitforward?Your hard-earned money is always well used at Gospel Spice.
