I’m an introvert, an INFP sharing my thoughts on feelings on being an INFP and “All the Things” that come with it. I’m a self development nerd, care deeply about how others see themselves, yet I’m silly, creative, I love tangents, Kdrama, music and I desc
We all have introverted and extraverted parts to us. Even us most in-our-head-daydreamers need to interact with and be impacted by the external world. But what I have noticed for me is that not all extraverted activities are created equal, and some of them nourish me, whilst others drain me. In this episode I speak to Four ways I extravert as an introvert in a way that nourishes me as an INFP. Let me know your thoughts. This is a bit of a follow on from the last episode where I reflected on some of the things I have learned by starting a business. So if you haven't listened to that I highly recommend you jump back and have a listen. And a funny thing happened after I recorded that podcast. So what I was doing after recording the podcast was I wanted to find some welcome information that used to be on my old blog for my landing page. But the funny thing was down the bottom of the page was a link to my last blog post. And it caught my attention. It was titled… Starting a Business as an INFP and that's what I share with you in this episode. The thoughts, beliefs and what I felt I would find challenging about starting a business, knowing my INFP and introvert tendencies. I hope you enjoy the episode. I need your help and feedback! Keep reading for my questions at the end of the show notes. A bit of a rant and ramble today! Join me as I flesh out my thoughts as I speak to them. In this episode I tried to speak to the topic of: Giving up Facebook? My thoughts on the noisy world of social media as an INFP Every now and then I get the urge to step away. Why I feel that way. Fomo and worrying if it's the right thing. Groups. The thing that has kept me resisting deleting. What instead? How can I nurture a community off fb? Social media I enjoy. Instagram The desire to use YouTube but the stage fright. So I go with podcasts. Long form vs short form and wondering what introverts and infp/j prefer. I need your help. Today I speak about what I feel be to the ingredients or elements in sticking to a project. For an INFP or ENFP sticking to a project long term can be so hard. We lose interest so fast, we feel energized when we have new ideas and are in the "newness" of an experience. Over time, if we get bored or don't have enough variety in our lives we can begin to feel fatigued, lacklustre and resentful. So how do we remain "on" when it comes to a project? Well I feel there at least 5 ingredients. In this episode I just quickly touch on each of these, but might flesh them out in future episodes, especially around how to tap into or cultivate each of the ingredients. >>> Hey! I'm Vicky. Want to know what an INFP and INFJ couple talk about? Well in this episode I share 3 interesting conversations (what I remember of them) that my husband and I had recently. I touch on: How he can observe his own mind, and the way he solves problems. How I don't like surprises. Him coming to the conclusion why I don't like surprises and what he knows he needs to do to have a surprise run smoothly. That he can tell before he takes action how much energy, time and attention it will need AND how it will impact all the things he is already doing. I talk about how I don't have that mechanism and I need to do the thing before I know how much time and energy it takes or how it will impact the other areas of my life. Work with me... In Episode 2 I reflect on my tertiary function Introverted Sensing. I look back on how I have over relied on it, rejected it, and now embracing it for what it is and how it best supports me. You can visit my website at www.elegantdaydreamer.com Instagram: @elegant.daydreamer
This was actually an episode from season 1 that I found as a draft!!! Thought I'd publish as an extra for you. In this episode I share with you an INFP fully immersed in Extraverted Intuition. Yep, I am going to share with you my attempts at learning the chorus to a very popular Kpop song (Exo's Monster) despite my inexperience and inability to be coordinated. But really, this episode is about being a beginner, trying new things, exploring and experiencing, so that we can give our Introverted Sensing some new material. Hello and welcome to the infp daydreamer podcast. It has been such a long time since I was here on the podcast and so much has happened. In this episode I talk about some of the things I learned about myself during lockdown last year. Some of these areas were around: my tolerance for being home a lot, my natural rhythms, anxiety around coming back into the world. I hope you enjoy this episode. I hope that you will joining me. I have also started a new Instagram account @elegant.daydreamer and I would love for you to come over and connect. I cant wait to jump in and bring to you season 2 of the INFP daydreamer podcast.
Just letting you know I'm taking a break.
As an infp I feel that I perhaps focus so much on what I can't stick to, or don't complete that I thought “hang on a minute, maybe there are things I stick to?”. In this episode I briefly talk about 5 things or activities that I am consistent in, some I've completed - in the hopes that you too can reflect on some of the things you have stuck to or completed in your life.
I've been caught in “the Grip”, and I'm sharing with you how this is showing up in my life right now. If you're an INFP I'm sure this episode will resonate on some level, and I hope it's helpful to know you're not alone. You may have heard in the personality type world a term called “the grip”. The grip is basically a term that describes when we have used all the energy from our dominant function – in the case of an infp, that is introverted feeling – everything kind of gets flipped on it's head and suddenly our inferior function has taken the reigns and is running the show. In my case, as an INFP, this means that extraverted thinking takes over. But it still functions at an inferior level. In this episode I talk a little bit on how this is showing up for me right now. In this short episode I share with you 5 ways I know I'm an INFP (there are so many more than just 5, but I'll just keep it brief today). Follow my blog at www.elegantdaydreamer.com
Introverted sensing despite being my tertiary function was overly relied upon in my life. In this episode I touch on the differences between me as an INFP with Si as my tertiary function, and my Mum and 9 year old daughter who are ISFJ's with Si as their dominant function.
