In this episode Ryan discusses two fundamental questions that every believer asks at some point and that mobilization, rightly understood, provides answers for. Mission mobilization helps anchor believers and churches in foundational truths about the global Church and its great purpose - the fulfillment of the Great Commission. This episode will equip you as a leader to address these two questions effectively with your disciples and churches.
In this episode Ryan discusses what a Biblical "local church" is and what essential characteristics mark such churches. While as Christians we sometimes think we fully understand what a church is, we are often assuming wrong elements that aren't necessarily Biblical at all. For the sake of becoming all that God intends every local church to be, we need to understand and seek to integrate these essential characteristics.
In this episode Ryan provides a focused call to pastors to recognize that, before God and as a result of the New Testament teachings of Paul, they are also called to the role of "mobilizer." Pastors are meant to be mobilizers, equipping their churches for the work of the ministry, which includes the Great Commission. To see mission mobilization propelled in the global Church as God intends we need to recover this pivotal, though overlooked, truth regarding pastors and church leadership teams.
In this episode Ryan continues to consider commonly held negative stereotypes about the Great Commission and cross-cultural ministry that are widely held among believers and churches globally. In this episode Ryan focuses on two specific misunderstandings. First, the idea that the Great Commission might already be fulfilled and second, the leadership error that if we mobilize our people for missions we will lose our best people. Both of these are misunderstandings of the heart of God that His people must correctly overcome.
In this episode Ryan discusses two common negative stereotypes about the Great Commission and cross-cultural ministry that are widely held among believers and churches globally. Ryan advocates that a core aspect of mobilization is helping to educate believers and churches with right outlooks related to areas that are often misunderstood in missions. You will be equipped to respond rightly to these two negative stereotypes.
In this episode we look at a recurring theme that regularly shows up in the Old and New Testaments. The theme is found in the Biblical concept of "Rebuilding Ancient Ruins." Using the twin passages of Jeremiah 33:6-9 and Ezekiel 36:33-36, we unpack this concept and how to apply it today as a crucial part of mission mobilization and what God is calling His global Church to do.
In this episode Ryan introduces six core principles directly related to seeing mission mobilization movements happen within our individual local ministries and even across entire denominational structures. To do this we look at the example of the Moravian community at Herrnhut in the 1700's as a representation of these six principles of mobilization movements.
In this episode you will learn more about what type of mobilizer you might be. We will explore this by considering the lives of two historical mobilization giants and analyzing their mobilization leadership by using a grid surrounding the various mobilizer types. This enables us to then consider the potential mobilizer type we ourselves might be.
In this episode you will learn how God intends many ministry leaders to grasp that their leadership role includes that of being a mission mobilizer. They are called to help their churches on the journey of being educated, inspired and activated in the Great Commission. This is a critical role in the overall process of God mobilizing His Church.
There are many practical elements, slices of the pie, that God wants to impart to His global Church through the ministry of mission mobilization. In this episode you will learn about five core, mission understanding aspects of mobilization that need to be integrated into our local ministries. Growth in these areas is a major factor in whether or not local ministries effectively partner with Jesus in fulfilling the Great Commission.
There are many aspects of mission mobilization that often get overlooked. Yet they are equally important to the process of seeing believers and churches embracing Jesus' big picture purpose of the Great Commission. In this episode Ryan provides five core spiritual life aspects of mobilization that every local ministry needs to be implementing in order to to prepare their members to rightly engage in Jesus' Great Commission.
In this episode Ryan introduces a potentially new type of prayer for many of us, called "Mobilization Prayer," highlighting aspects of prayer for the nations that the global Church has often overlooked. He shares a bit of his own journey of growing in prayer for the nations and how the Lord led over the years to incorporate prayer for the Church to become who God intends her to become spiritually, while simultaneously becoming a people rooted in and living from a Great Commission paradigm.
In this episode Ryan discusses how God has put within the heart of every believer a desire to share truth with others. Yet most believers don't feel equipped to do so. Ryan then introduces a helpful tool for believers to use as they engage the natural relationships God has put around them with the gospel of the Kingdom. You don't want to miss this practical episode while also passing it on to believers in your churches and ministries.
It is easy to overlook or maybe forget that the primary purpose of the body of Christ from Jesus' first coming to His second coming is the fulfillment of Jesus' Great Commission. Yet it is absolutely necessary to root and anchor ourselves in this truth as the people of God. While there are many sub-purposes of the Church of Christ, the overarching primary purpose is to diffuse the light of Christ among all the ethnic peoples and see multitudes thrust into the Kingdom in the Great harvest.
In this episode we look at a proven, effective tool being used to help inspire local ministries to begin the journey of becoming a Great Commission Ministry, a local ministry emphasizing the Great Commission in their fellowship. This tool is called a Great Commission Seminar, a strategic means to engage local ministries with mission vision, inspiring and instructing them to pursue becoming a Great Commission oriented ministry.
In this episode we explore the critical importance of local ministry leaders in mission mobilization. The secret of enabling local churches and campus ministries to effectively engage with unreached and unengaged people groups globally is one of leadership. Pastors and spiritual leaders play the essential role in guiding local ministries to be envisioned and equipped in the Great Commission.
What is God doing and saying related to formalized ministry training devoted to mission mobilization? In this episode we explore mission mobilization training and discover rationale for why it is necessary for where the Spirit is taking the global Church, while differentiating mobilization training from missiological training. Ryan also breaks down the four training schools of GMMI's Global Mobilization Institute in this episode.
Have you ever thought the Great Commission and its fulfillment is quite complicated? While a common thought, Jesus actually revealed a fairly simple strategy that is not too complicated at all. In this episode Ryan digs into Jesus' teaching of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 and the accompanying salt and light that come from believers deliberately and purposefully seeking to grow in these core characteristics of true discipleship.
What is the Lord saying through the recent Asbury awakening? How are we to understand what God is seeking to communicate through revivals in general? In this episode Ryan looks into six highly applicable and practical areas of spiritual restorations God appears to be highlighting through this particular awakening. You will not want to miss these six important restorations God is trumpeting across the body of Christ to enable us to become all He has called His Church to be.
Which type of mobilizer are you? Generally we think of a mission mobilizer in a one dimensional way instead of how God views it, as a multifaceted role in God's global purpose. In this episode Ryan teaches about seven different types of mission mobilizers, all operating as God's voices in "preparing the way of the Lord!" (Isaiah 40:3). The global Church desperately needs all seven of these types coming into maturity to be mobilized for the Great Commission to the significant extent that is on Jesus' heart.
In this episode Ryan shares an encounter he had with God in the summer of 2001 - 22 years ago. God revealed the important role of mission mobilization among the people of God, helping the Church overcome obstacles to become engaged in God's purposes being accomplished in the Great Commission. You don't want to miss this episode and the important timely applications that come with it.
God has a much bigger plan in His heart related to mobilizing and "scattering" His people among unreached peoples then the Church has generally understood. In this episode we consider this concept from a few Scriptural passages, allowing God's Word to envision us to dream much bigger with Him about the possibilities in the Great Commission.
The premise of this episode is that one of the reasons why still one third of the global population are in unreached people groups is because of how the global Church has understood (or misunderstood) the Great Commission and mobilization. As a result there is a need for a clear mobilization vision and strategy across the global Church. One of the ways to consider this is through the lens of "saturation mobilization movements" being developed across ministry structures within the body of Christ globally.
"What is the Gospel?" A basic question, right? As those mobilizing the global Church to proclaim the Gospel, it is necessary to ask what message we are mobilizing others to bear among unreached and unengaged, frontier peoples. The gospel is commonly reduced in its scope, appearing vague. This episode provides a helpful five phase roadmap for communicating God's message in its fullness, the Gospel of the Kingdom, among all peoples, not just providing one or two pieces of the overall message. This is what we must mobilize the body of Christ to proclaim among the nations.
Identity is fundamental to the human race. We seek identity in many things in life. Yet God wants His Church embracing the core corporate identity He has given us. Grasping our core identity answers the question, "who are we?" Knowing our core identity as the body of Christ enables us to discern what specific way each individual believer will then contribute to its outworking in the world.
In this episode we are looking at the concept of “scattering” or “sending” out our ministries into the harvest fields. The way of the Spirit compels His corporate and individual people outward—“scattering,” multiplying, reproducing ourselves. “Scattering,” then has multiple layers. It is safe to say biblically speaking every disciple of Christ is meant to “scatter” in one way or another. Let's look at three levels of “scattering,” each with different focal points and involvement.
There is a lot of talk these days about reaching the unreached and seeing movements established toward them. But what does the realization of the redemptive purpose of God actually look like from God's perspective? It seems the body of Christ is sometimes guilty of envisioning something quite different about the global harvest from what Scripture reveals. In this episode we seek to align with Jesus' own outlook on what the global harvest looks like so that we mobilize the people of God according to God's own viewpoint of what is coming.
Have you ever considered mission mobilization as an entity in its own right? As an area or field of study under the larger umbrella of cross-cultural mission and Biblical missiology? It seems that the time is right to see the foundations, principles, strategies and most importantly Biblical precedence and missiology of mission mobilization being considered, even in Bible schools and seminaries as a distinct field of study. Learn more about these considerations in this brand new episode of the Mission Mobilization Chats podcast.
In this episode Ryan shares a vision he had many years ago of God raising up 100,000 mission mobilizers around the earth. He reveals who these mobilizers are and what their core message is as well as the nature of their impact on ministry structures around the world. Be encouraged to trust in God's plans and purposes of progressing the mission mobilization movement internationally forward through these key Isaiah 40 "voices."
The most important questions we can ask as believers are about the processes God uses to develop His people. In mission mobilization this is a crucial question as well. It is necessary to ask, "how God's people are mobilized for mission?" What are the primary ways God uses to accomplish His mission mobilization development in the life of a church community and individual believer. In this episode we look at three broad categories of ways God imparts His heart for the nations to His people. Each of these is meant to be implemented on a regular basis into the life of our local ministry fellowships.
Moving toward a more thorough, comprehensive understanding of mission mobilization in the global Church requires we highlight some core values related to it. Core values help shape and provide focus to any entity. This is necessary in helping the Church grow in mission mobilization as well. In this episode we consider six core values for mission mobilization. Each of these contain huge truths that inform the messages and focal points of mission mobilization, laying foundations through which we can progress on.
Is God leading His people to see and understand mission mobilization differently then we have in the past? In this episode Ryan shares an experience he had with God a few years ago where the Lord grabbed His attention through a particular verse, Luke 5:4, applying it slightly differently than usual. Could this verse be a blueprint for how to propel the mission mobilization movement God is raising up within His global Church? Be inspired and encouraged as you consider this direction God may be leading His people.
There is much confusion about the phrase "unreached peoples" today across the global Church. It is common to hear we are called to reach people everywhere so why focus on unreached peoples. In this episode we consider in detail what constitutes this important category of people that serves the strategic impact the Church is meant to have in the Great Commission. Doing so not only empowers the Church to effectively reach people with the gospel of Christ but also to strategically align with Jesus' big-picture plans and purposes of how to do so.
It is important to analyze the global Church's progression in mission mobilization emphasis in history. This episode looks at one of those areas of progression through three stages in mobilization as we seek to multiply mission mobilization movements. We consider the general mobilization emphasis of the last 50-60 years being what we call "mobilization from the outside" and yet how additionally the Spirit is beckoning "mobilization from the inside." This is the needed second stage in mission mobilization that will enable us to move to the third stage, the "mobilization fruitfulness" stage.
God is a progressive God, unfolding His overall plans and purposes in stages. He does not do everything at once, instead steadily progressing His global Church forward in mission and mobilization over time. Due to this it is necessary to become dedicated students of where we are presently in mission mobilization and where He may be taking us next surrounding progressing in His mission mobilization plan in the Church.
In this episode we seek to define what mission mobilization is. There is much confusion in the body of Christ when we don't adequately define what we mean by the words we use. This is true in cross-cultural mission as well as mission mobilization, particularly when God is wanting to expand the global Church's grasp of mission mobilization in order to bring us into the fullness of our destiny.
The role of Mission Mobilizer is often misunderstood because the global Church has tended to limit and minimize who and what is a Mobilizer. We have generally failed to recognize the wide variety of people and leadership roles that fall into the category of a Mobilizer. This episode considers the five core leadership roles in the global Church (sometimes referred to as the five fold ministries) and how at their essence each one is meant to be a Mission Mobilizer. Seeing each of these five operating in their foundational role as a Mission Mobilizer will revolutionize the mission movement globally.
Learn more about mobilization as a central theme in Scripture as Ryan teaches on how God, Jesus and Paul, three core figures in the Bible, were all, in their essence, Mission Mobilizers. Mobilization, Mobilizer, even the word Mission is often criticized as never occurring in the BIble. While this is true, the concepts of each are consistently found. Even constituting the bulk of the entire Biblical redemptive storyline. Mobilization is a much bigger, more comprehensive, subject in Scripture then we have realized, but we need to change our perspective slightly to see through this lens. Watch, listen and share this episode with your friends and ministry members.
Local Ministries prioritizing the Great Commission possess three overarching purposes. These three are to Educate, Inspire and Activate every disciple within their church or ministry in the Great Commission. In this episode we look at an overview of these three purposes, breaking them down so we clearly grasp what they are, providing some examples of each.
In this episode we want to look at a Biblical blueprint God wants to use as part of His mobilization process among all believers globally. We consider Isaiah 6:1-8 and the shaping process God led Isaiah through to prepare Him to be ready to respond as His mouthpiece. It reveals the exact same process God will use with you and I and millions of other believers to mobilize and equip them in His Great Commission. As Mobilizers we need to be aware of the process and create environments for them to take place within our local ministries.
Local ministry leaders possess an essential responsibility before God. They are entrusted by God to "equip the saints for the work of ministry," including involvement in the Great Commission. Most local ministry leaders, however, are not actively engaged with this part of what they have been entrusted with. This episode considers this important subject of the central role of mission mobilization for every local ministry leader.
Much mission mobilization today takes an individualized approach. In doing so, we have tended to overlook the big-picture nature of the Great Commission in the redemptive purpose of God. Mission is not just for a few specialized believers, but for every born again follower of Jesus. What if every local ministry saw it as their primary calling to mobilize and equip the whole of their ministry to understand and become activated in their assigned roles in the Great Commission? What if local ministries didn't merely periodically mention mission but made it an integral part of their ministry's focal points on an ongoing basis? This is what we explore in episode #7 of Mission Mobilization Chats.
Have you ever wondered how God will accomplish the fulfillment of the Great Commission? What strategies does He have in mind to do so? We often view mission as random ministry activity among the nations instead of having Biblically discernable points of strategy. The Bible reveals a step by step progression of strategy Jesus' global Church is meant to align with. Mission mobilization is calling the people of God to grasp and apply these crucial big picture points of strategy.

What is the end goal of mission mobilization? Have you ever really thought about this? The best way to plan for anything is to start with the end in mind. This is what we consider together in this episode. The big picture end goal of where history is going and how our mission mobilization feeds into this. It is necessary for mission mobilizers to become rooted in this end goal understanding or our mobilization can take on a direction never intended in the heart of God.
What is God seeking to accomplish through mission mobilization? A large majority of believers today are primarily focused on "me and my life." Getting a little more money, happiness, a convenient life. While such believers may give lip service to the importance of the Great Commission, they generally see it as being for "someone else." The Holy Spirit, however, has a different purpose, shifting the paradigm of believers and local churches to see part of their redemption as being to practically engage in Jesus' Great Commission. This episode digs into this bigger picture vision of the Holy Spirit in the life of churches and individual believers. Expanding the typical outlook that mobilization is merely about recruiting more "missionaries," instead of helping the Church to grasp the big picture purpose of God in this age.
Did you know that God is orchestrating a "mission mobilization movement" globally across many organizations, ministries, denominations and more? He is provoking a widespread emphasis on mission mobilization. Not just among a scattered few but among multitudes from many backgrounds globally who are contending for mission identity to characterize the global Church. In this episode Ryan looks at the birthing of the "Church" at Pentecost as a "missionary community" existing to enjoy relationship with God at the highest levels while proclaiming the King and His Kingdom among all ethnic peoples. Mission mobilization partners with God to see this priority again realized in our day.
This very first episode lays the all-important foundation of all mission and mobilization, going deep with God by developing an intimate fellowship with Jesus. All true mission and mobilization springs from a heart of growing love, adoration, and subsequent alignment with Jesus' redemptive purpose throughout the earth. We flee from complacency and lukewarmness, cultivating wholeheartedness for Jesus as a starting point for mission mobilization. Every local ministry commits to grow as an incubator of developing love consumed disciples, surrendered to their Lord and master. Out of such a reservoir of love, the Holy Spirit conforms hearts with His global plans and purposes. This episode considers these themes while laying out what this type of lifestyle looks like.
