On this week’s show, “Episode 60, understanding the new normal,” the numbers of COVID-19 infected individuals are increasing daily, many cities have ordered sheltering in place, , gun sales are on the rise, and local governments are ordering businesses to shut down, more people should be storing food; hence, we are in a SHTF. What’s next?https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sensibleliving/
On this week’s show, “Episode 59, lessons learned from Covid-19,” as more information and misinformation comes out daily about Covid-19, we have discovered something about people: too many are unprepared for a SHTF (hording of TP, hand sanitizer, first, and then the mad runs to get all the food they can buy). It’s time we use this as an important educating moment and start to realize that society and even our government are not prepared for a large SHTF event.https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sensibleliving/

Also discussed here are five things you don’t need in your preps. *Like Paul Revere, Caesar Rodney is famous for a midnight ride. As the first of July, 1776, turned into the second, Rodney rode hard through the night, in a thunderstorm on his urgent errand. Rodney's ride ended up at the doorstep of Independence Hall where he cast the decisive Delaware vote for Independence. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sensibleliving/

On today’s show, “Pillars of Survival: Food,” I address pillar of survival number 2: Food. Whether it’s a SHTF situation or just an everyday occurrence you’re dealing with, food is important for life. We need to fuel our bodies, which require energy (calories) to get us through a hard day’s work. In a SHTF event, it would be a hard day’s work every day. Included in this conversation is having a secondary way of cooking your food if your oven is not usable. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sensibleliving/
On today’s show, “MILK, BREAD, and EGGS!” I go over not having an emergency plan and the anxiety caused by a difficult situation that inspires some to rush out and do something—anything—even without having those preparedness procedures in place. Happy birthday USMC! As of November 10th, it’s been 244 years since the founding of the United States Marine Corps. Thank you, veterans of all branches. We remember your service on this Veterans’ Day, November 11th. On today’s show, “Food storage for SHTF,” I talk about the difference in your thinking when it comes to SHTF food storage. In this type of scenario, you would need a higher carb count and more fats to meet your increased needs. Low carbs and low fats would not be sufficient for a SHTF situation. Also, there would be the need to accept that your favorite organic hand-wrapped oatmeal would not be practical. The cheaper off-brands are SHTF storage foods. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sensibleliving/
