Weekly gospel-centered, word-filled sermons
Pastor Nate brings the message, "God Does the Impossible” from Joshua 3-4. God delights in doing the "impossible" in order to bring glory to Himself. For example, when the Jordan River was at peak height during the flood season, God chose to take Israel across it-on dry ground. His powerful works are a reminder that God is carrying out a good plan in and through the lives of His people and nothing can stop Him.
Phil Hunt brings the message from Philippians 1:9-11.
Who is the most unlikely person in your life to come to Jesus? Joshua 2 shows us how God works on the heart and gloriously draws people unto Himself...which is what He did for you.
Pastor Nate brings the message "God's Gifts for the Journey” from Joshua 1. This message begins a seven part series through the book of Joshua which is a testimony that God is Faithful to His promises. For Israel the journey into the land is one that seems overwhelming, even impossible, but God has given them His Word and His Presence. God's gifts enable His people to endure.
Pastor Stephen brings the message, "God's Authority in the Face of Death." While there are many stories of Christian heroes who have suffered much for the Faith, many of us wouldn't want to voluntarily sign up for a path like theirs. But what happens when God brings unrequested loss into our lives? How do we think about His power, plans, or authority to act when approaching these difficult seasons? In this message we'll see from Ezekiel 24:15-27 how God uses the grief He's placed in our paths to glorify Him and to serve His grand purposes.
Pastor Nate brings the message "Forgiveness from the Heart” from Matthew 18:21-35. It's impossible to live in this world without relational hurt and pain. The question is this, how do Christians look to Jesus for help when someone sins against you? This message shows how Jesus explains the important, life-giving practice of forgiveness.
Pastor Nate brings the message ""A Perplexing Resurrection" from Luke 24:1-12. Christians all over the world celebrate the reality of the Risen Jesus. We see how the women were perplexed at the tomb, how the angels had a proclamation of truth, and how the disciples had varying responses to the resurrection. Our perplexities come to rest when we lay hold of the Risen Savior.
Pastor Nate brings the message "The King Who Wept” from Luke 19:28-40. This message is the celebration of Jesus coming into Jerusalem just days before His death. He is a King entering the capital city to shouts of praise. Yet, He weeps over the blindness of their hearts. We have a Savior who has power to save and compassion for those who need Him.
Pastor Nate brings the message "The Lord of Peace” from 2nd Thessalonians 3:16-18. Is there peace for the Christian in the midst of the "storm?" Or, can it only be obtained when the good times are rolling? For the Christians who were experiencing afflictions, Paul's prayer at the end of 2 Thessalonians leads us to conclude the following: if you have the Lord in the midst of the storm, peace can be found with Him.
Pastor Nate brings the message "Accountability for the Busybody" from 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15. What do you do with the professing Christian who freeloads because he refuses to work? That was the challenge the Thessalonian church faced. And, it's the passage with significant implications for our lives that we'll cover this Sunday!
Pastor Stephen brings the message “Talking Like Christians” from 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5. In Paul's letters, we often find him encouraging believers with simple truths, praying for them, and asking for prayer. In short, Paul writes like a Christian talking to Christians. But for us, it can often feel awkward or hard to talk casually about faith, grace, or what God's doing in our lives with our Christian friends. Our passage for Sunday will model what uplifting, casual, Christian conversation can look like in our relationships with other believers.
Pastor Nate brings the message from 2 Thessalonians 2, ""What if We Got it Wrong?" That was the question that worried the Christians in Thessalonica. Granted, there are a lot of ideas about how the Lord will return. But, Paul's aim in this chapter is to shed truth on the fact that Jesus will return, and Christians can stand firm until that day comes.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Hopeful yet Heavy Justice of God” from 2 Thessalonians 1:3-12. It irks us when we see injustice happening around us. Yet, when Jesus returns, God tells us that there will be a complete and final justice that He will hand down to all of humanity. A justice that will be permanent…a justice that brings hope to each Christ
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Enduring Evidence” from 2 Thessalonians 1:1-5. Not long after he wrote 1 Thessalonians, Paul saw the need to quickly follow up with a second letter to the young Christians at Thessalonica. The themes from the first and second letter are very similar but with further clarification. This Sunday we will spend our time looking at the first five verses that point to the evidence of God's saving work in our lives.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The God Who Sanctifies, Keeps, and Calls” from 1 Thessalonians 5:23-28. In this last section of 1 Thessalonians, Paul gives strong, absolute assurance that God will see His children all the way home! Our eternal security rests in His faithfulness.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "God-Honoring Relationships” -Part 2 from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22. Jesus is coming back someday, and it is our privileged task to be ready to meet Him when He returns. In our second-to-last sermon in 1 Thessalonians, we will see how the Bible guides us into an honorable relationship with God that prepares us to meet Him.
Our Men's BUILD Conference speaker, Matt Emadi, brings the message, “The Meaning, Message, and Motive for Evangelism” from Romans 1:1-6.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "God-Honoring Relationships” from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15. Relationships can be hard. Yet, they are rewarding when we follow God's word. In our study this week we will look at God's plan for 2 unique relationships in the church: 1) the relationship between pastors and congregation; and, 2) the relationship between members and... members.
Sunday Morning...Pastor Nate brings the message, "Great Expectation" from 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11. Christians live with the expectation that God will complete both a final judgment for those who oppose Him and a final salvation for those who believe in Him. This event will be the ultimate Day of the Lord. In light of that day, live with both anticipation and encouragement that God will save His people through it.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Great Expectation” from 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11. Christians live with the expectation that God will complete both a final judgment for those who oppose Him and a final salvation for those who believe in Him. This event will be the ultimate Day of the Lord. In light of that day, live with both anticipation and encouragement that God will save His people through it.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Hope for Grieving Christians” from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. A life-giving benefit in salvation is that Jesus will bring about a great reunion for all His people. When He returns, all Christians (past and present) will be brought together. Imagine what it will be like to be reunited with Christian friends and family members and always be with the Lord!
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Love and Labor” from 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12. As Paul continues his letter to the Christians in Thessalonica, he teaches on the practical responsibilities of 1) love that is carried out in one another's lives, and; 2) labor that minds one's own business. God then uses those distinct practices in our lives to impact those around us for His glory.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Pleasing God with Purity” from 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8. It's no secret that sexual freedom has been a focal point of our society. Why not? We are pleasure-seekers after all. As we open up chapter 4 of 1 Thessalonians, God's Word directs us in a better path forward, one that keeps the pleasure of sexual activity within the safe boundaries of obedience to God.
Pastor Andy brings the message, "The Four C's of Trials” from James 1:2-4. What are you looking forward to this year? God's plans are often not our expectations when it comes to the New Year. But James helps us to understand God's plan for us will change us for our good and His glory.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Comfort of the Coming King” - Part 3 from Matthew 1:18-25. "You shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." That was the message Joseph heard from the angel, and it is the message that is joyfully heard in the hearts of all those who trust in Jesus for salvation. It is also the message that needs to be heard by those who have not been saved from their sin. This coming Sunday, Pastor Nate will re-visit the Christmas story and then share how Jesus saves His people from their sins.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Comfort of the Coming King” - Part 2 from Isaiah 42:1-9. As we continue our Advent series this Sunday, we see that the coming Savior would be gentle with His people. "A bruised reed he will not break; and a faintly burning wick he will not quench." No one is a cast-away. No one will be written off. Jesus is for His people.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Comfort of the Coming King” - Part 1 from Isaiah 40. Do you find comfort in your circumstances or in the character and promises of God? As the Jews were agonizing in exile, God gave them a promise of comfort. It's a promise anchored in His unchanging character that extends to our lives today. A Savior would come and those who wait on Him shall renew their strength.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "My Shepherd: He is Enough" from Psalm 23. Pastor Nate reminds us, from a familiar text, of God's care for and provision in our lives.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Increasing and Abounding in Love” from 1 Thessalonians 3:6-13. What role does your love for others play in your standing before God? That's a question that Paul answers at the end of 1 Thessalonians 3. When we see love flowing through our lives God is establishing us in holiness.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Affliction, Meet Faith” from 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:5. Would it surprise you to hear that in God's wisdom He has so ordered our lives that we would come face to face with affliction? Paul says that we are "destined for this." But we are not left without hope. In our sermon, we will see how faith tethers us to God so that we can remain established in Him.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "A Word that Works” from 1 Thessalonians 2:13-16. When Paul defended his ministry in Thessalonica, he did so by pointing out the changes that happened in the lives of these new Christians. People were changed, not because of Paul's speaking skills, but because they received the Word of God in faith. As believers we can be thankful and confident that God has given His Word to be at work in our lives.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Character of a Gospel Witness” from 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12. One of the greatest blessings that God gives us is the privilege of sharing the Gospel with non-Christians. It's a joyful moment knowing that God is very specifically using that moment for His glory. As we long to practice evangelism more and more, Paul shows us four important lessons for being a Gospel Witness.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Life-Changing" Part 2 from 1 Thessalonians 1:4-10. In the opening chapter of 1 Thessalonians we are seeing the power of the Gospel in the lives of believers. Salvation does bring about change. And, as a church we want to be that change for the glory of God and for encouragement and witness to those around us.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Life-Defining" from 1 Thessalonians 1:1-5. This message begins a new sermon series in 1 Thessalonians where the opening verses present defining marks of God's salvation in our lives. When we come to believe the Gospel, God empowers us to live changed lives that please and glorify Him.
Tom Siefert brings the message, "The Triumph of God" from Colossians 2:13-15. In our world where it appears evil is in control, we need to keep our focus on God, remembering He is the triumphant ruler over all things. Our hope rests on that truth!
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Grace for Repentant Sinners” from Hosea 14. In the closing chapter of Hosea, God makes it very clear that sinners (like you and me) are welcome to return to Him. And, when we return, His grace is present to strengthen and build us up.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Have You Forgotten?” from Hosea 12-13. Our memory can be like leaky buckets, and therefore we need regular reminders. In the closing chapters of Hosea we see the prophet calling God's people to return back to the One whom they have forgotten. Does your life demonstrate a pattern of forgetting God? Or remembering Him in all things?
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Return” from Hosea 4-11. The middle section of Hosea is filled with pictures of Israel wandering away from God in their sin. Of course, the pictures point to us as well. Even still, God endures in love by calling His people (calling you) back to Himself.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Redemption and Return” from Hosea 3. James Montgomery Boice called Hosea 3 "the greatest chapter in the Bible because it portrays the greatest story in the Bible." That story is about Christ's love for the church that comes at a great cost. It was our redemption price that Jesus paid, and this is illustrated in Hosea's purchase of a woman who had wandered far from him.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "God Will…” from Hosea 2. The unfaithful spouse is the major scene in Hosea 1-3. It's a sobering picture that God gives to us for the purpose of seeing our sin and unfaithfulness to Him. And yet, as you follow the story, God declares that instead of writing off His bride, He will tenderly bring her back to Himself. Praise the Lord for His forgiveness to us all!
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Scandal of Our Sin” from Hosea 1:1-2:1. This message begins a new series in the book of Hosea. Chapter 1 starts with a powerful scandal that God uses to help us see our sin against Him. The story closes in 2:1 with the hope of mercy. Hosea is a wonderful book that bleeds with the Gospel.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Sovereign Over All” from John 6:35-40. We all have unsaved family members and friends, and we long to see them come to Christ for salvation. The command that we have from our Lord is to share the gospel with them. The hope that we have is that when God gives them the gift of repentance, they will come.
Pastor Stephen brings the message, "God's Sovereignty in Our Suffering” from Habakkuk. One of the most difficult questions of the Christian life comes when we try to synchronize three seemingly incompatible ideas; God is good, God is in control, and horrible things still happen. While these are difficult to line up neatly in our minds, we see that Scripture affirms all three. The book of Habakkuk walks us through how to worship God despite our confusion and even agony in the midst of the painful unknowns.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Sovereign Over All” from Ephesians 1:16-23. The sovereignty of God should bring peace and hope to all believers. In this message we see how Christ's sovereignty over His church gives us confidence to live our lives in joyful obedience to Him.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "God is Sovereign” from Psalm 2. During the month of August we are looking at how God's sovereign authority should give His people hope. This Sunday, we will see how God's sovereignty over the nations can keep Christians from losing their minds during a season of political chaos.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Renewed Mind"- Part 3 from Psalm 56. Fear and anxiety have a grip on our culture, but is that the way God wants His children to live? This coming Sunday we will be studying Psalm 56 where God shows us how to trade terror for trust.
Pastor Luke brings the message, “When We Follow Jesus” from Mark 6:1-29. When we choose to follow Jesus we might just think it's an exciting ride of victory because of His power. In the Gospel of Mark we see Him calm storms, cast out demons, heal the sick, even raise the dead. But is this what following Jesus is like? Our passage on Sunday introduces to us the costliness of following Jesus.
Pastor Nate brings the message, “The Renewed Mind” - Part 2 from Romans 12. Ever feel like your brain is stuck in a rut? There's hope! As we cover the remainder of Romans 12 this Sunday, we'll see how God leads us to renew our mind.
Pastor Nate brings the message, “The Renewed Mind” from Romans. “I have never struggled with my thoughts.” Liar! We've all had times when our thoughts ran like wild horses and trampled on the truth. In Romans 12:1-2, Paul gives us a path of hope and encouragement that is tied to the mercy of God: the mind can be reined in and you can be transformed.
"Follow your heart!" has become the mantra of a generation. As believers, we want to think we are immune to this temptation, but what if we are only fooling ourselves? What if our hearts are more devious and more treacherous than we believe? We want to biblically view the subtlety and deception of our hearts, and then come to realize the enormity of the solution God has provided in Christ.
Pastor Andy brings the message, “A Life Defined” from 2 Peter 1:3-11. In 2 Peter, Peter teaches his readers what defines believers, from conversion to glorification and everything in between. Their challenge is our challenge: will we waster God's grace or join Him by obeying His word?
