An AA meeting in a Podcast. Sobercast is an (unofficial) Alcoholics Anonymous podcast featuring AA speaker meetings and workshops. This is not a discussion podcast, simply speaker meetings and workshops in a podcast format.
The Sober Cast: An (unofficial) Alcoholics Anonymous Podcast is an incredible resource for those in recovery from alcohol addiction. As someone who has been sober for over 7 years, I can confidently say that this podcast has played a significant role in my journey. It has become one of my favorite apps, and I want to express my gratitude to whoever runs it.
One of the best aspects of The Sober Cast is the wide variety of speakers and topics covered. Not only are there circuit speakers, but there are also regular members sharing their stories and experiences. This diversity allows listeners to connect with different perspectives and find inspiration in various ways. Additionally, the podcast has been particularly helpful during the pandemic when in-person meetings have been limited or unavailable. The daily chairs and relatable shares have provided a sense of community and support during challenging times.
While not every speaker or topic may be awe-inspiring, there have been a few that have truly touched me and helped reshape my life for the better. These speakers have inspired me to make positive changes and deepen my understanding of sobriety. Despite occasional misses, overall, the quality of the content is excellent.
Furthermore, The Sober Cast has helped me recognize some deep-rooted issues within myself that contributed to my addiction. It has shed light on my selfishness and why I turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. Through listening to these speakers' stories, I have learned that selflessness and service to others are key components of recovery. Each speaker's vulnerability is heartwarming, making me want to give them all a big hug while expressing gratitude for sharing the language of the heart.
In conclusion, I am incredibly grateful for The Sober Cast: An (unofficial) Alcoholics Anonymous Podcast. It has had a profoundly positive impact on my life as someone who is over 7 years sober. Especially during tough times like these, when physical AA meetings are not possible, this podcast has been a lifeline for many. The diverse range of speakers and topics, along with the sense of community it provides, make it an invaluable resource for anyone in recovery. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking support and inspiration on their sober journey.

Tom is speaking in Madison Va. on the topic, Our Problems were of our own making. Recorded in April of 2010 at an unknown meeting A while back an AA member (Kent) reached out to me regarding a collection of recordings by Tom I. Tom was sober over 65 years at the time of his passing in 2022. Tom has long been a highly regarded speaker in AA. The podcast will be featuring a "Tom Tuesday" until we run through his library. Tom I became sober at the age of 28, attending an AA meeting in a maximum-security prison. He had been sentenced there after he killed two teenagers during a blackout. Upon his release he dedicated his life to carrying the message of recovery to other inmates. He was the first former prisoner hired to work within the prison system. This speak was recorded in February of 2011 at Back to Basics in Huntsville and is Tom I telling his story. I am starting something a little different today. A while back an AA member (Kent) reached out to me regarding a collection of recordings by Tom I. Tom was sober over 65 years at the time of his passing and through the efforts of Kent, Tom's family and others a library of his speaks over the years was collected. Tom has long been a highly regarded speaker in AA, he has quite a story. Starting today and until we run through his library the podcast will be featuring a "Tom Tuesday". It seems appropriate to start with Tom telling his story. Tom I became sober at the age of 28, attending an AA meeting in a maximum-security prison. He had been sentenced there after he killed two teenagers during a blackout. While incarcerated, Tom became a passionate and active member of AA. Upon his release he dedicated his life to carrying the message of recovery to other inmates. He was the first former prisoner hired to work within the prison system. His journey eventually took him from prisoner to warden. Tom passed away in 2022 with over 65 years of sobriety.
