Messages from the Springfield First Church of the Nazarene in Springfield, Oregon
The Lectionary readings for this Sunday reveal to us once again what Messiah will do in the world and in us as we receive Him.
The promised One who came to this earth two thousand years ago teaches us to diligently watch and wait for His second arrival.
Our speaker this morning is our new children's director, Gail Kalkes. She and her husband Derek have been in ministry for several years in various settings and enjoy serving the Lord.

The Sabbath rhythm given to us by God involves not just resting on the 7th day of each week, but also in sanctifying the moments of each and every day as our focus should continually be on the Lord.
On this 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Scripture reminds us yet again that we can find rest and peace even when tried and tested in unimaginable ways.
A closer look at the 4th commandment highlights the absolute necessity for the people of God to cease from all labors on the Sabbath to rest and draw closer to the Lord.
When we serve the Lord, engage in spiritual warfare, and devote ourselves to the mission of God, it is essential we not bypass the rest and strengthening we need.
After a 13 week sabbatical, Pastor John talks about the necessity for all of us to find the rest that can only come about as we find rest in God.

On Pentecost Sunday 2016 as we celebrate the inception of the Church, we once again affirm our love, commitment, and service to Jesus' church and its mission.
When the Church is functioning as it should as empowered by the Holy Spirit, there is no greater movement on earth that mirrors the breaking in of the Kingdom of God.
In this three part teaching, we look at how God’s people, who comprise the church of Jesus, are to convey genuine love for the Body of Christ that extends even to the world.
We are blessed once again to have Rev. Bud Pugh as our guest speaker this morning. He is the assistant to the District Superintendent of the Oregon Pacific District Church of the Nazarene.

While millions of people today are fixated on a 60 minute football game known as the Super Bowl, we will look at the promise of Jesus that will extend for all eternity, the super life.
God, who is the originator, giver, and sustainer of all life, continues to give life through Christ, whose followers pass on life to others.
Deserving of wrath, God in His kindness and mercy, instead raises us up with Christ to do the good works for which we were created to do.
The miracle of the resurrection of Jesus can be our miracle as well, as it is the desire of God to take people who are spiritually dead and make them alive in Christ!
