Catch Lara as she goes "beyond the barricade" to chat with Broadway performers, composers, and innovators about the phenomenon that is the stage door. Hear the best, worst, and wackiest stories from the people who have signed your Playbills.
In Andrew Kober's Twitter bio, he describes himself as a Blue Collar Broadway Actor, and that description totally fits! You've seen Andrew consistently working in shows like: Hair, Beautiful, Les Miserables, and School of Rock. Andrew is currently gearing up to open Unmasked: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber at Papermill Playhouse. Andrew and I came into musical theater at a similar time so we had tons of fun chatting about our favorite mega-musicals and what it's like to be the one coming out of the stage door instead of the other way around. You can find Andrew Kober on all social media @AndrewKoberTwitter: fangirllaraInstagram: fangirllara_Facebook: Stage Door StoriesEmail me at: stagedoorstory@gmail.com

Seeing the Schitt's Creek Live Show inspired a surprising amount of introspection on my relationship to being a fan. I also chat with my friend Lindsay about the magic of Schitt's Creek, Dan Levy's irresistibility, and our hopes and predictions for season 6. Schitt's Creek spoilers abound, but honestly, if you haven't watched the show yet, what are you waiting for?Twitter: fangirllaraInstagram: fangirllara_Facebook: Stage Door StoriesEmail: stagedoorstory@gmail.com

One of the main reasons I started this podcast was to explore what the stage door means to me and why it's so important. George Salazar's commitment to his fans started at the stage door of The Drowsy Chaperone and Norbert Leo Butz. Since then, George has been as dedicated to the stage door as he is to his performances. As Michael Mell in Be More Chill, George's song "Michael in the Bathroom" connected with the show's young fanbase and cemented his place in the Broadway fandom. Listen to the episode to find out more about Norbert Leo Butz's impact, and hear from George for the first time about what it was like to close Be More Chill and say good bye to Michael and those fans at that Stage Door.Follow George Salazar on social media @georgesalazarwww.thegeorgesalazar.comFollow Lara on Twitter: @fangirllaraFollow Lara on Instagram: @fangirllara_Like Stage Door Stories on Facebook
Have you ever wandered through the theater district and wondered about the people who had wandered those streets before you, maybe 100 years ago? If you have (or if you are now), you NEED to know about Broadway Up Close and Tim Dolan. Broadway Up Close offers walking tours of the theater district (and downtown, if you're curious about Hamilton: Am American Musical... and who isn't?). They also have their very own home in Times Square with their new kiosk. I always love chatting with Tim about Broadway--what's new and exciting, and also history that I never even thought I needed to know, but I really do.Find out more about Broadway Up Close:www.broadwayupclose.comTwitter: @BroadwayUpCloseInstagram: @BroadwayUpCloseFacebook: Broadway Up CloseFind out more about Lara:Twitter: @fangirllaraInstagram: @fangirllara_Facebook: Stage Door Stories
Last Thursday, I saw The Prom and it was wonderful. Before the show, I met up with Josh Franklin, an ensemble member in the show and a composer in his own right. We chatted about his time with The Prom as well as his concert coming up this Sunday, August 18. After the show, I chatted with my friend, TJ Berardo, who happened to be at The Prom the same night I was. He provides the fan perspective, since my plans to stage door were thwarted by that pesky Metro North schedule. For tickets to Josh's concert, visit www.thegreenroom42.comJosh's instagram: @joshuaandrewfranklinTJ's Instagram: @tjberardoTwitter: @fangirllaraInstagram: @fangirllara_Facebook: Stage Door StoriesEmail: stagedoorstory@gmail.com

Loved catching up with my old friend Steven Jamail: composer, music director, arranger, and supervisor extraordinaire. Working with Steven at Rosie's Theater Kids, I learned a ton about what it actually takes to go from writing a melody on a page to having it sounds like it does on the stage. Steven is also a true theater lover and it was great to hear from him about the people that make him star-struck.Find out more about Rosie's Theater Kids at www.rosiestheaterkids.orgwww.stevenjamailmusic.comTwitter: @sjamailInstagram: @stevenjamailTwitter: @fangirllaraInstagram: @fangirllara_Facebook: Stage Door Stories
In the days just before Twitter and way before Instagram, The Guilty Ones, or TGO, was a message board devoted to the comings and goings of the cast of Spring Awakening, the fans, and just general excitement about the new rock musical. Lauren Hanna was on TGO, which is where we met. Listen to us reminisce about the original cast member least likely to be seen at the stage door (spoiler alert: it was Lea Michele), the first time that Matt Doyle went on as Melchior (also known as "Matt-chior") and Gerard Canonico's general shenanigans.Lauren's new podcast Best Fictional Friends 4-Ever launches THIS FRIDAY, July 26.www.bestfictionalfriends.comInstagram: @bestfictionalfriendsTwitter: @fangirllaraInstagram: @fangirllara_Facebook: Stage Door Stories
The lights went out on Broadway (and most of the upper west side) on Saturday, July 13 and as usual, the Broadway community rose to the occasion. Sharon Wheatley and the rest of the cast of Come From Away gave the audience of their cancelled show a truly memorable experience when they sang "Welcome to the Rock" right outside of the stage door. On the podcast, Sharon talks about how that impromptu performance came to be, as well as some other truly unique experiences she has had at the stage door (You definitely want to hear what she has to say about Cats!)www.sharonwheatley.comTwitter: @sswheatleyInstagram: @sswheatleyTwitter: @fangirllaraInstagram: @fangirllara_Facebook: Stage Door Stories**Don't forget to leave a review**

Perhaps best known as half of the singing duo "Will and Anthony," with his twin brother, Will is stepping out and making a name for himself as a theater and concert director. Jen Kahn was a Broadway stage manager when she got the idea for Scenery Bags, a way to upcycle old theater backdrops and turn them into adorable bags. Since Jen launched in 2017, Scenery Bags have been spotted with some of your favorite actors, like Krysta Rodriguez and Rachel Bloom. Most recently, Scenery Bags provided the Kinky Boots curtain that became Billy Porter's Tony Awards look.
