Join me as I chat with the Emmy Award winning creators of the Amazon Prime Video digital series, 'After Forever.' 'After Forever' stars Kevin Spirtas (Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of Our Lives) and Mitchell Anderson (Doogie Howser, Party of Five) as a mid-life gay couple living in New York City who appear to have it all — until Jason's untimely death forces Brian to think about his own future and ultimately his own mortality, without the love of his life. As Brian puts his life back together, Jason periodically appears to help him focus on his new life and moving on, most notably with his new boyfriend. Spritas co-created and co-wrote the series with acclaimed playwright Michael Slade. 'After Forever' also stars several familiar faces from TV, film and Broadway stages like Colleen Zenk (As the World Turns), Michael Urie (Ugly Betty), Anita Gillette, Mary Beth Peil and Tony Award winner Cady Huffman. The lauded series features a diverse group of characters who find their way through life's constant changes, including relationships, love, and loss, in an often overlooked group - the mature gay man. As Michael Slade told The Advocate, “We as gay men, after we're no longer 35, we tend to disappear from popular culture until we're Christopher Plummer — asexual down the hall with a cat.” The writing process was also cathartic for Slade, whose partner, Richard, died of cancer several years ago. Season One of 'After Forever' was nominated for 8 Emmy Awards and won five including Outstanding Digital Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Digital Drama Series, and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. And Season Two has already been nominated for 10 Indie Series Awards including Best Drama Series, Best Ensemble Drama Series and a slew of acting, writing and directing nods as well. Salme is an electro pop dance music artist, also known as the licensing queen because of her ability to license all of her songs for media use.  She is a  one-woman dynamo on the razor’s edge of mass appeal with radio ready songs like "Superstar Car Crash"  and  tracks like "C'Mon Y'All"  that are good sound and good fun. With songs on the Billboard Dance Chart and the Global Dance TraxTop 100, she never stops.  This summer alone she has released a new single, a new video and a new album.  And we will play samples from all of them when we talk with her Friday August 1. Icelandic author/songwriter/composer and former journalist Ívar Páll Jónsson is the genius behind Revolution in the Elbow of Ragnar Agnarsson, Furniture Painter. Author of the book, lyrics and music, Ívar has been writing music since the age of 15, perfecting his craft by writing thousands of songs in his career, most of them unpublished. His ambitious new concept album just released with guest appearances by renowned songster Liam McCormick (The Family Crest) and an all-star lineup of Iceland's top singers, entitled Revolution in the Elbow of Ragnar Agnarsson Furniture Painter. It's also the score for an off-Broadway theater production featuring former Miss America Kate Shindle and Tony winner Cady Huffman. A homage to the grandeur of classic rock at its most epic with influences including Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, and Sufjan Stevens, the album weaves a tale of love, war, and brotherhood that that all takes place within the microcosm of an oblivious man’s elbow.

Cady tells host Robin Milling about her passion for food which began with her mother and grandmother's homemade meals growing up in Santa Barbara. Food is life and love to Cady and she performs it all in song for one night only at 54 Below in New York City. In the show she explores her relationship to food such as grappling with the loss of her ex husband's cooking. She jokes, 'After 17 years of marriage I found myself 'divorced and hungry!' Cady talks about her dating escapades and how she's moved on. Cady talks about her wondrous musical theater career which began as a teenage drag queen in La Cage Aux Folles and most recently as a Burlesque dancer in The Nance. Her dancing accomplishments began with Bob Fosse in Big Deal. Gaby's Chef Sylvain Harribey, former winner of the Food Network's Chopped serves a delicious tasting and wine pairing. Beginning with butternut squash bisque in a capuccino cup, followed by fois gras delicately rolled with proscuitto and served with a mini beaker of truffle oil to drizzle over it, lamb loin on white bean puree, and an american standard 'Frenchinized,' as Chef puts it -- a hamburger or Franburger served on a crispy baguette with brie cheese.
