The very first time I saw WICKED was when the national tour came to Cleveland in February 2008. The actress playing Glinda at the time was Katie Rose Clarke. As fate would have it, I was recently offered the chance to speak with her and Steven Jamail about their brand new song connected to their upbringing in Houston, Texas titled 'Margarita Christmas.' So naturally, I said yes. Katie Rose Clarke made her Broadway debut almost 20 years ago when she took over for Kelli O'Hara as Clara Johnson in THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, where she even got to be a part of the PBS broadcast. Her subsequent credits include Hannah Campbell in ALLEGIANCE with George Takei and Lea Salonga, Ellen in the 2017 revival of MISS SAIGON, and most recently as Beth in the Tony-winning revival of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG starring Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe, and Lindsay Mendez. Not to mention that she also happens to be Broadway's longest-running Glinda in WICKED. Steven Jamail is a composer, producer, musical director who has done arrangements and orchestrations that have been performed on Oprah, Howard Stern, Rachel Ray, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Martha Stewart, The NBC Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center, and the American Songbook series at Lincoln Center. He has also created arrangements and played for Bebe Winans, Rosie O'Donnell, Jessie Mueller, Jeremy Abbott, and Adam Rippon. He serves as the regular music director for Orfeh, Teal Wicks, Danielle Hope, and Lea Michele, having just recently orchestrated and conducted Ms. Michele's lauded Carnegie Hall debut and Life in Music Tour. He is the Associate Artistic Director of O'Donnell's foundation, Rosie's Theater Kids in NYC. *I do not own any of the content used in this video. As RHOBH casting rumors for next season swirl, we break down the likelihood that the rumored Diana, Rinna and Crystal will be let go. We share our thoughts on that and offer up some likely other options of who will most likely be on the chopping block next season. As these casting rumors circulate, Denise Richards weighs in announcing she would return to RHOBH in the future. It certainly would be a good weekly reminder that her Only Fans is alive and well, not that she needs any help in that category and she would certainly be coming for Rinna. Hello Bravo. Are you listening? Ariana Biermann was arrested for DUI and her and Kim Zolciak have come out swinging. What do they say about there being two sides to every story? Kelly Dodd calls Melissa Gorga a loser, Cynthia Bailey says Tre is warmer than Mel, and we ask does anyone still care about the fact that Tre and Mel will never, should we say it louder for those in back, never get along. Finally, we address those recent RHONY 2.0 reboot casting rumors and weigh in regarding our friend Orfeh who was named as one of the new six apple holders. Of course, we called and texted Ms. Orfeh to get to the bottom of all these rumors of who really is being cast in the new RHONY and break down when we will most likely hear the definitive cast so that we can all sleep a little better at night.  @thesarahfrasershow @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef BONUS & AD FREE EPISODES Available at - www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope BROUGHT TO YOU BY: TALKSPACE - www.talkspace.com ($100 Off Your First Month. This week I’m chatting with two of Broadway’s most powerful voices, Orfeh and Andy Karl. Tony and Grammy Award nominee Orfeh most recently starred as Kit De Luca in Pretty Woman the Musical on Broadway with her husband, Andy Karl, an Olivier Award winner and three-time Tony nominee, starring as Edward. The power couple share how they are continuing to create during the Covid pandemic, how they are helping to raise funds for local charities and the lasting impact of Broadway.  Plus, the duo gives a special performance of Pretty Woman’s “Rodeo Drive.” She has a “powerhouse voice” (New York Times). He is “a theater world heartthrob” (New York Times). And together Orfeh and Andy Karl have had an impressively long run as one of Broadway’s best couples. Although they met while doing the Broadway production of Saturday Night Fever and were married in 2001, their irrepressible chemistry became the stuff of legend when they co-starred in Legally Blonde in 2007, which garnered Orfeh a Tony nomination. Karl earned his own Tony nods for Rocky, On the Twentieth Century and Groundhog Day (for which he received an Olivier Award). Fresh off their run in Pretty Woman as Kit De Luca and Edward Lewis, the power couple celebrates the release of their album with their hit show, Legally Bound.   Orfeh: official website Instagram and Twitter  Andy Karl: official website Instagram and Apple Music       Charities: Broadway Cares Humane Society of New York No Kid Hungry St. Jude’s   For more information, please visit www.TamsenFadal.com or Broadway Profiles

Jerry Mitchell, director for the recent Broadway run of “Pretty Woman,” knew immediately that songwriting duo Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (“Summer of '69”) matched his production. “Bryan and Jim have this uncanny ability to write an incredible hook, and a lot of those hooks...sound like they belong in this era.” But it wasn’t easy for the acclaimed pair as they stepped into the role of “Music and Lyrics.” To keep it simple (for now), Vallance would say: “We were learning as we were going along.”We invite you into literally every step of the “Pretty Woman” musical and subsequent cast recording release, starting from Adams’ initial interest in the property (he himself inquired about a musical version of the film back in 2008), to the out-of-town process and frequent rewrites, to Broadway, and eventually to the album recording itself. On the latter, Vallance was said to review “every single take, every single note, searching for perfection in every performance.” With interviews extending beyond the songwriters, you’re treated to an extraordinarily rich look at this process. In the end, perhaps Orfeh (the show’s Kit De Luca) put it best in regard to the album, which is now available: “We've made a pop CD. We have made a bonafide pop CD that happens to be based on a musical.”Now following the Broadway run, see the dates for "Pretty Woman: The Musical" at their website.Interviews: Jerry Mitchell (Director), Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (Music/Lyrics), Andy Karl (Actor), Orfeh (Actor), Craig Rosen (Atlantic Records Executive Vice President, A&R Operations), Will Van Dyke (Orchestrator).JeffersonStudios.com

Tony nominee--and just fabulous human--Orfeh has an incredible story of growing up in NYC, going to high school at the famed La Guardia High School (the "FAME" school), starting a pop band and getting a record contract that took her all over the world, and then landing on Broadway in such shows as "Saturday Night Fever," "Footloose," and "Legally Blonde"--earning a Tony nomination for playing the role of Paulette. She's divine and totally my kind of gal. Enjoy!
