Chloe Tucker Caine joins the show to discuss her fascinating transition from a national tour leading lady to a high stakes real estate powerhouse on Netflix's Owning Manhattan. She shares the vulnerable reality of arriving in New York expecting a parade only to find herself bartending and eventually running an "illegal" Airbnb business out of her Hell's Kitchen apartment. Chloe opens up about the secret life she led while establishing her real estate career, including sneaking off to vocal lessons and dance classes between property showings because she feared being dismissed as just another "annoying theater kid". The conversation dives deep into the creation of her viral "property musicals," a niche that blends her performance background with luxury sales to help move quirky listings that had previously sat on the market for years. Chloe reflects on the lessons learned from being cut on the first night of an MTV reality show and how motherhood has shifted her professional perspective from wanting to be a "shark" to simply being her authentic self. From recording her single "Fly High" for her daughter to her dreams of playing Velma Kelly in Chicago, Chloe proves that you don't have to close the door on your passions to find massive success in a new field. Chloe Tucker Caine is a multifaceted performer and real estate agent who starred as Sophie in the national tour of Mamma Mia!. She is a central cast member on the Netflix series Owning Manhattan and a top agent at the SERHANT. brokerage. In addition to her real estate success, she is the creator of the digital series Chloe in Manhattan and recently released the single "Fly High" This episode is powered by WelcomeToTimesSquare.com, the billboard where you can be a star for a day. Recognized as Canada's first lady of musical theatre, Louise has led productions of Les Misérables, Piaf, Sweeney Todd, and she originated the part of Donna in Mamma Mia! on Broadway, but she says Kimberly might be the most perfect part for her right now. She sits down with guest host Talia Schlanger to tell us why as she reflects on her acclaimed stage career.

9. 11. Dietrologia Pronuncia: /dje-tro-lo-ˈdʒi-a/ Significato: La tendenza a cercare significati nascosti, complotti o secondi fini dietro ogni evento.

This week on MusicalTalk, Nick Hutson and Andrew Keating uncover a forgotten gem of musical theatre history as they sit down with the legendary David Wood to discuss the original ABBA jukebox musical: ABBACADBRA. Long before Mamma Mia! conquered the world, there was ABBACADBRA — a fantastical, family-friendly musical created at the Lyric Hammersmith in the early 1980s, featuring ABBA's music reimagined and a brand-new book and story by David Wood. Nick and Andrew dive deep into how the project came to life, the challenges of adapting globally beloved pop songs into a narrative format and why this early experiment in jukebox storytelling has been largely forgotten despite its star-studded origins and irresistible charm.
In this extended interview, the star of "Mean Girls" and "Mamma Mia!" talks with Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz about the "emotional acrobatics" of working in films, including in "The Testament of Ann Lee", and her Oscar-nominated performance in David Fincher's "Mank". She also plays guitar and sings for us. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. The UK's medicines watchdog has said criminal gangs in the UK have started making their own weight-loss drugs, with packaging and branding designed to look like legitimate products. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has warned that the new trend poses a significant threat. Presenter Clare McDonnell is joined by Sukhi Basra, vice chair of the National Pharmacy Association who also runs a weight loss practice, to dicuss the risks. 'Buy now, pay later' credit schemes are increasingly being used to pay for everyday items like food, bus passes and school uniforms. Leading debt advisors have told the BBC that more women are juggling these debts as they struggle to cope with the cost of living. BBC Yorkshire investigations reporter, Stephanie Miskin, and Rebecca Routledge from debt advice organisation Money Wellness talk to Clare. Jackie Clune is an actor, writer and performer whose eclectic career has included a Karen Carpenter tribute act, Shakespeare, Mamma Mia! and most recently the narrator in a UK tour of The Rocky Horror Show. On screen, she's familiar to many as Motherland's school secretary Mrs Lamb, but she's also written novels and a memoir about unexpectedly becoming a mum to triplets at 39 and finding herself with four children under 19 months. She's now on stage in The Meat Kings! (Inc.) of Brooklyn Heights at London's Park Theatre, playing a tough, no-nonsense boss fighting to keep the family business afloat. She joins Clare to discuss the play, parenting and grief. A rare 500-year-old English parchment birth scroll is to be shown in the UK for the first time following recent pioneering analysis that confirmed its use during pregnancy and childbirth. Dr Elma Brenner, Research Development Lead at Wellcome Collection and Professor Valerie Worth, Fellow of Trinity college oxford who holds a research grant from the Leverhulme Trust talk to Clare.Presented by: Clare McDonnell Produced by: Dianne McGregor

"I don't think people think of us when they think of emo. Probably we covered 'Mamma Mia' by ABBA today. That was emo. Yeah."Join the "Meeting of the Brians" as we sit down with Brian Logan Dales of The Summer Set right after their set at the When We Were Young festival. Despite playing an acoustic show in Tucson and driving through the night to make it, Dales brings his trademark high energy. We discuss the band's sometimes-contested place in emo history, with Brian admitting they see themselves as an attitude-driven pop-rock band with "one foot in, one foot out." He gives a look behind the scenes of their latest album, Meet Me In The Record Store, a passion project five years in the making that they treated like their "first album all over again". This latest work reflects what The Summer Set sounds like as an adult band, writing about everything from girls to existential crises. Dales talks about the process of letting the songs "fine wine" as demos for years , and how they balanced the setlist at the nostalgia festival between fan-favorite older songs and the new material. Find out which song Dales played on an overnight drive, and hear about the time he mistakenly played a Puddle of Mudd cover at Emo Nitet. Brian tests whether or not he can make a hookup happen in the limited time available to him while his daughter is at an appointment. Judson crosses state lines for a hookup and receives a cultural education. Brian's family enjoys a week of the arts–a Chappell Roan concert, the Mamma Mia revival on Broadway, and the Gabby's Dollhouse movie–and he provides his thoughts on each. Judson feels the “Hookup of the Week” in his heart more than his groin. The two then attempt to tackle the topic of masculinity, how they each approach the expectations to live up to masculine standards, how it has shaped who they are as sexual beings, and the relationship between the standard of masculine beauty in the gay community and the AIDS epidemic. They end by responding to a “Go Ask Your Dad” question from a listener seeking advice after his sex life with his partner whom he loves and who he acknowledges is his person has dwindled over time. When an actor opens their mouth to sing in a movie, chances are high that the voice you hear will be their own. Even in music biopics, movie stars without much singing experience regularly go to great lengths to impersonate the most beloved vocalists of our time. Why not simply play Johnny Cash or Bruce Springsteen's actual recordings, the reasons why we care about them in the first place? When the world is full of beautiful singing voices, why force Pierce Brosnan to bray his way through Mamma Mia? What you hear when an actor unhinges their jaw is a matter that Hollywood has been negotiating since the dawn of sound. So in this episode, we'll learn about the “ghost singers” of classic Hollywood musicals, find out why they went extinct, and why today's music biopics so often fudge the music. Then we leave Hollywood for Bollywood, where the rise of the celebrity “playback singer” shows what can happen when good singing is the highest priority. In this episode, you'll hear from Slate's pop music critic Jack Hamilton; musicologist Dominic Broomfield-McHugh, editor of The Oxford Handbook of the Hollywood Musical; Stephen Cole, co-author of a memoir by the ghost singer Marni Nixon; Isaac Butler, longtime Slate contributor and scholar of American acting; and Nasreen Munni Kabir, who has written several books on Hindi cinema and curates Indian films for the UK's Channel 4. This week on Sibling Rivalry, Bob breaks down musical theater vs. opera ticket sales, explains the plot of Ragtime, and debates whether Mamma Mia! and Cats are more iconic than Beetlejuice. Then, they get into OnlyFans. They ask if they'd ever pay for adult content, what visuals they actually respond to, and review Drag Race queens' OnlyFans accounts to decide if they're worth it.
