Juggling the responsibilities of adult life without support is difficult for most of us. My goal is to bring resources, education, and empowerment to people of all walks of life. We should have a lot more information about mental health, physical health,
What is The Fine Art of Adulting?A resource, a tool, a guide per say for the things we didn't learn enough about in school.I am constantly learning, growing, and evolving everyday, so there will always be more to add as time goes on. I've been asking myself for the last year, “What exactly IS The Fine Art of Adulting?”As I've started answering this question for myself, I have been putting out content that could help people save money in the meantime while I questioned EVERYTHING. There are three main pillars to address when it comes to adulthood:FinancesHealth Spirituality These pillars ebb and flow into each other, but without a solid foundation for all three, we are NOT doing well. This last year, I have really had to work on my health (mental health first, then I was able to start on physical health), before I could incorporate all of it to my life in a cohesive way that is conducive to the life I'd like to be living EVERYDAY. (Notice here that I am building a life little by little that I DO NOT have to escape from!)Stay tuned for more on this in next week's live where I share more about getting back to eating super clean again, tackling my finances, and improving my physical health! I definitely have much more to share on this that you will find VERY helpful!
I was tired of feeling unmotivated, unfulfilled, and unhappy. The tiny shifts I talk about today add up to monumental (or rather exponential) change. You'd be surprised at how just a few little tweaks change the outcome of the life you get to live everyday!I like to imagine personal development as a graph. We all start at the bottom, but we get to work our way up! Each tiny shift you make in the positive direction changes your trajectory over the long term GREATLY! We get to choose our own pace, and there's only one person you need to worry about: you. How are you showing up in your life? How can you make it easier for your new habits to stick and be successful? Oftentimes, I've noticed that if I don't find a new habit “easy enough” then I won't continue to do it. I actually realized, I need to go as far as making it more difficult to NOT do it, than to do it, to be successful 100% of the time. Washing my face and using dry shampoo? I set them on my freshly made bed each morning, so that I have to MOVE them out of the way to get into bed. If I'm already picking them up, I may as well use them on the way. Managing pain? I stretch everyday while unwinding and watching tv. I also keep the same chiropractor and massage appointments on repeat so that I can enjoy my life all the time!Cleaning? Streamlined using minimalism techniques! I created an easy cleaning system for myself, so I no longer have to worry about the house being messy when I have unexpected guests. This is called “life by design.”Now, I am able to show up stress-free, happy, and ready to tackle anything that comes my way. I no longer shut down or become outraged when things pop up or go not according to the plan. How would you feel if you were able to take problems in your life head on?Today's homework:1.) Oops! This episode was meant to have an IGTV in case you wanted to watch it on IG, but I had some technical issues this week! However, it is up on the podcast, so you can download it, and play it wherever you go!In this episode, I talk more about how mental health is a journey, relapsing is a very real thing, and how I had to change quite a few habits to prevent myself from going back to that dark place where everything felt impossible. I share a bunch of random tips and tricks as to how I fall and stay asleep better, cut the BS from my life, and honestly I could've kept talking about all the things I've been doing to stay mentally healthy for a LONG time, so I decided that this will be a continuation. Next week I'll be back recording an episode about all the healthy, easy habits that have radically changed the way I think, act, and feel. Most of these things are free or low cost, take little to NO additional time, but they create huge energetic impacts (which create massive ripple effects) throughout the entire rest of my life. The live recording happens at 9AM PST Thursday on Instagram! I can't wait to see you there! Today's homework:1.) APPLY today's tips! I ask you to keep an OPEN mind during this series. I talk about sensitive topics that may be triggering, but I believe that it is incredibly important to start these hard conversations.Although I may uncomfortable myself, I plan on making this a series of a couple more difficult conversations. This will be released as I do the work myself, and I share insights that I learn along the way. (I also happen to know some incredibly articulate individuals, and I will be sharing some of their writings in future recordings.)These recordings will likely take place over the course of some time. I find that it's much easier for me to learn without pressure, so that I can actually retain new knowledge as well as be able to educate others on sensitive/relevant topics. What are these words? What do they mean?Everything gets answered inside!Go ahead and hit play on today's special edition Juneteenth episode! This episode is the FIRST of MANY episodes to come in regards to racism in America. The only way to get it to end racism is to continue to speak openly and publicly about it. (Even though it makes us want to curl up under a rock.... I get it! However, we only grow in the discomfort!)Even if you "aren't racist" this work is VERY important. You will quickly realize how ignorant you have been in the past (I touch on my personal experience with this in this episode). Unless you are actively learning, you are living in an "ignorance is bliss" sort of state. I've been there, trust me, I get it. However, it is TOTALLY possible to snap out of it! Everyday we choose to either learn or stay ignorant. What's your choice today?Homework:1.) Click HERE to get the book White Fragility2.) Start the conversation!3.) Are you UNKNOWINGLY racist?!Simply not wanting to hurt others does NOT make you "not racist."Your belief system, the way you treat others, and how you judge others, DOES. This topic has been heavy on my mind lately.I HAD to record an episode about it, but it took me a minute of thinking about it from all sides.I hope this helps you or someone you know open your eyes, or be able to explain racism to others in a way they can understand. I know that deep in my heart that together, we can help end it.Click HERE to check out our website!Click HERE for the link to our Kit.Co!Money saving video links:Click HERE for the DIY dryer sheet video!Click HERE for the DIY laundry detergent video!Click HERE for why I switched to a menstrual cup!
