Four Mech Pilots fight their way through an invasion of Earth from disgruntled Colonial forces.
Why'd ye spill yer beans? Why'd ye spill yer beans? Why'd ye spill yer beans? Why'd ye spill yer beans? Why'd ye spill yer beans? Why'd ye spill yer beans? Why'd ye spill yer beans?
In this episode the players get a room for the night and familiarize themselves with Legend of the Five Rings poison rules. Also there is some odd background noise that comes up occasionally on this one, I did my best to eliminate it but it still rears its head from time to time.
In this episode the party makes contact with the Empress and witnesses the might of the Right Honorable Lord Admiral. Plans begin to be hatched to free the Empress from her confinement in the ruins of the Golden Gate bridge.
Finally We’re getting into some Soap Opera bullshit. Abigail Finds Marcel going through her pockets after a night of passion and pulls a gun. What a concept to have things happen in your game, Wish i thought of it sooner.
After running into the pirate woman from the beach in a bar, Marcel is dragged into a battle of wits while Abraham and Flute look on helplessly.
Editing this has really made me realize how much time we spend planning to do stuff in games. Anyway there's more planning in this episode but i swear stuff does actually start to happen in it again.
The team finally makes it to the occupied city of Grand Francisco, to assess the extent of the invading armies damage, and determine what avenue to take to get contact established with the empress apparent. Content Warning for this episode: Violence committed against women by an occupying military force is alluded to.
Abraham and Marcel go to the King of Socal to inform him of the ongoing invasion, meanwhile Flute recovers from her wounds and plots with Harriet Redstain. I do want to point out that something was up with Dan’s side of the recording, and probably for a few more. We’ll hopefully be able to fix it in the future and its fairly minor, but it is in there.
Pirate navies, Cargo Cult interpretations of An Inconvenient Truth, and introductions of doomed romance, we’ve got it all this episode. Also Featuring my least favorite costar, my very loud chair. Tried to minimize its noise where i can, but its quite present, sorry about that.
Before getting unceremoniously tossed into the stormy sea, our protagonists were simple gofers, serving a minor noble of the Hollywood hills, and trying to track down her valuable nick knacks. Of course, shenanigans inevitably ensue.
Here it is 100% on time. Meet our PC’s as they contemplate how to escape from a pirate ship, and terrible revelations unfold before them. Personally terrible, there’s no Cthulu in this story.
Alright here it is the final lore trailer for celestial california, please enjoy the conclusion to the travelers story and look forward to next week with the first actual episode of Celestial California
Moving from Dusty Reno to sunny Santa Clarita, the traveler continues their journey towards Hollywood, and the man who killed their father. Problem is most of California won’t tolerate the presence of Large, Stinking beasts so the traveler needs a new form of transport.
Back to the journey of the Traveler through the Empire. Trying to make it through San Fernando on the road to Hollywood, but unfortunately the Empire is the height of modern civilization, and thus the height of modern bureaucracy. Stuck in line for a mandatory census the traveler gets drawn into a conversation with a local bureaucrat on what exactly they think they’re doing in the empire.
Hey what’s up folks, hope you enjoyed the bloopers last week. This is the first of four lore trailers we’ll be dropping on you in December, to explain what is going on in the world of the Celestial Californian Empire. The Trailers follow the story of a traveler from far east of the Empire, who crossed the rocky mountains in search of the man who killed their father. Along the way they run up against the Empire’s Politics, Culture, and Laws. Hopefully the journey of this traveler manages to give you a broad idea of how the Empire works before we jump into our main story.
Hey its the blooper episode! All the funny bits that didn’t really fit into the actual episodes! also, the plans for the next project are at the end of the episode. Hope you had a happy and safe thanksgiving everyone!
Wow, we finally made it. Its a long time coming, and I’m incredibly proud of and Grateful to Travis, Dan, Morgan, Devan and Jesse. No jokes about what happens this episode, I just hope you enjoy the final episode of this season of Zeta Squadron.
With Mjolnir’s Armor stripped and its advance quickening, the MOBL pilots have to think fast, and come up with a plan that is equal parts crazy and stupid: Board the actively hostile Mjolnir and find a way to shut it down from the inside!
Time for the assault on Mjolnir Proper! Hope that you have enjoyed listening to our podcast thus far! I feel I should explicitly mention, this is the season one finale, we will be back in the future.
Well we made it to the season 1 finale folks! Very excited to have made it this far, and hope you enjoy the coming episodes. Its time for the first part of the final confrontation with Mjolnir.
The final prep work for the fight with Mjolnir is made and the pilots get their last night of rest before the coming battle. Also Cynthia the reporter who harassed decker is back, remember her from like, episode 1? Fun times
Returning from the Prison Break to Mount Tagano the team finds the place more fortified than they had left it, and with their old comrade Lt. Zachariah Decker. Esren reconnects with Jaeger, and Lileeze and Wu grapple with taking a life outside of their mechs for the first time.
With the escape secured by Lileeze and Wu Esren and Duro have to track down the reason for busting into the prison in the first place, his immediate superior and surrogate parent Cpt. Lionel. But in order to do that They’ll have to deal with snipers, mechanical breakdowns, and a lack of luck points.
Continuing into the prison Wu and Lileeze need to commandeer a martian transport craft, and Esren and Duro infiltrate the actual facility in search of Esren's surrogate father. This episode is bloodier than they usually are since we're running around as people killing other people, without any giant robot's to remove us from the brutality of our actions. Fun!
Back from the hit on the Maintenance Unit and the Victory over Mjolnir The Team is immediately occupied with planning a prison break and un-encrypting Mjolnirs Plans. Lileeze is once again asked to use her skills in an unorthodox and extremely dangerous environment.
They're baaaaack. The Blackstars return for round 2 against our MOBL Pilots! Intense Mecha battles, Drama, Unexpected homoerotic tension, This Episode has it all. Also Esren has to face his greatest foe to get out to the fight, someone who he can't shoot!
Esren is at a crossroads, his commanding officer is going to be moving towards a risky prison break ( against a prison that likely contains his surrogate father) but his new team on the Bastion is set on retrieving some of Mjolnirs schematics from one of its maintenance teams. Can he Convince Baberhall to delay hid operation long enough for the Bastion to retrieve the schematics? Also, the return of an old enemy.
Lileeze has decided to Stay with the Bastion, a welcome bit of good news in the Struggle against Mjolnir, but the Behemoth continues its seemingly unstoppable advance towards Mt. Tagano. In the hopes of Gathering the Allies necessary to defeat Mjolnir the Bastion heads into the Afar Gorge, in the search of Esren's Comrades in the EuroCorps.
After driving off the Flock and getting the J.S.D.F. Back onto the Bastion the team has a reprieve from the dangers of battle, but little rest to be found. Esren suffered a cockpit hit that he was lucky to survive, but he has been significantly wounded. How is our sour Euro Pilot going to handle being ordered off the field? And what happens when Lileeze gets an order she might not want to refuse? Editor’s note: There is the faint sound of hail in the background of some of this episode. I couldn’t remove it without drastically decreasing the audio quality, so you’ll probably be able to hear it. I’m sorry if this makes the episode less enjoyable.
With the initial assault all but concluded the Bastion lands to begin loading up the J.S.D.F. personnel and equipment, but the arrival of several new squads of fighters puts the entire operation in jeopardy. Leading the charge of these sudden reinforcements is a strange and highly advanced Fighter, flown by a mysterious pilot with a chip on his shoulder. Who is this mysterious pilot, where did he come from, and why does he have it out for Lileez?
The MOBL Pilots engage in a battle to get the Japanese SDF back in the air. Meanwhile the rest of us try to get the devil to give Dan back his soul so he will stop rolling so well. Also a new voice appearing in this episode Lucas Payne.
An Airfield full of grounded Japanese self defense force fighter planes needs to be rescued from the surrounding DUSAN and Martian Forces. Unfortunately if the enemy spots the Bastion the allied forces could be in mortal peril. It's up to Esren and Wu to use their Mecha's stealth capabilities to sneak past the enemy perimeter and make contact with the Japanese forces.
The Team is back on the Bastion. Supposedly impossible phone calls, macho grandstanding, and the ongoing war against the martians await.
Back in the Field the Pilots have encountered a startling new enemy, and a new ally in the form of Wu Peng. Will the Martian forces triumph over the eclectic ensemble of exotic engines? Will the team lose anyone else?
The Brass has been convinced of the Urgency of the situation but the team is down a Mech Jock as they fly off in desperate search of Aid and Allies across the Mutaad countryside.
Getting high command to change their minds is a tricky proposition, but our pilots are not going to allow their lack of expertise get in the way. Everything is on the table to get the Bastion Airborn again, from impassioned speeches to tactical analysis to espionage.
Mjolnir needs to go down, but our pilots need the support of the Bastion's command structure to be able to go find a way to destroy it. And with no intel and no communication with the wider USN forces that is going to be a very hard sell.
Unhappy with the news that the bastion is grounded and waiting for Mjolnir, the pilots look for a better option than waiting around to get stepped on by a bug.
After arriving at mountain base Togana the team receives terrible news: Mjolnir is on the way, and combat operations are suspended in the lead up to its arrival. Will the meager force be sufficent to deter the terrible might of the Martian war machine?
After being forced to flee in the face of the enemy, the pilots rest and recuperate, searching for ways to let off the stress of their failure.
Our Pilots have frankly been moping the floor with the DUSAN units that they’ve come across. Of course, the USN isn’t just at war with DUSAN. Today they will witness the full might of the Colonial war machine.
After a daring rescue our pilots return to the Bastion for the important jobs of debriefing command, discussing intelligence with the rescued Shital Pilots, and being berated by the maintenance crews over damage to the Mechs.
After spending the night unable to sleep alarm bells bring the pilots back into the fray. Anti Aircraft guns threaten the bastions progress into Mbeya, and ground forces need to take them out. Our heroes groggily strap themselves into the Mechs, and are shot into the battlefield.
After fighting their way through the Martian Revolution the Pilots have reached a moment of Respite. Wounded and cut off from their command structure, they realize that the Bastion is running on a skeleton crew. Worse still, they're the only available Mecha Pilots on the entire ship.
The Pilots continue their desperate rush to the Mechs. Will they continue to triumph outside their element, or will their lack of experience in infantry level combat be their undoing? Can Decker lead them through this danger? Will Durosinmi throw up again? Will Dan roll something besides a ten? And most importantly, can Lileze throw a 90 kg projectile 26 meters? Tune in to find out.
Earth is being invaded, and our Mech jocks need to get back to their base and Mechs. Unfortunately every cop in DUSAN is on high alert and their transport is locked down.
After an eventful joint training exercise in the Democratic Union of South African Nations four Mech jocks get ready to enjoy some well earned shore time.
